Year 6, Day 7
Today was the 1st day of the academy, the day Rue would finally be one step closer to achieving his goal of Immortality.
"Everyone settle down!" Shouted the slim looking man in front of him – due to his prior knowledge, Rue could safely say that this man was not a threat, no one above the level of jonin had ever taught at the academy, it would be a waste of skill.
"Ok, now. Since this is your first day. We're going to start off with introductions."
The man looked down at the register in his right hand, "Hiruzen Sarutobi."
The boy in question immediately stood up from his seat and spoke which could only be a rehearsed speech. "My name is Hiruzen Sarutobi. My father's name is Sasuke Sarutobi, my mother's name is Anya Sarutobi. I will become Hokage someday!"
It was obvious the boy took pride in his heritage, which surprised Rue, surely Hiruzen Sarutobi, the 3rd Hokage couldn't be a Naruto re-hash.
"Danzo Shimura."
"My name is Danzo Shimura, my rival is Hiruzen Sarutobi, and I will become the Hokage before him!" said the energetic kid.
Rue had been mistaken. It wasn't that Hiruzen was Naruto, no Hiruzen is what Sasuke would be if he was a lone child and hadn't had to go through the massacre. Danzo was Naruto – It was kind of sad to think about, Danzo was Naruto If Naruto was actually determined but didn't have everything handed to him. Though, Rue supposed that Naruto had been rather brave compared to Danzo who was very cowardly.
"Choza Akimichi."
"My name is Chozo Akimichi. I will make my family proud!"
The next few kids had also been various clan heirs from Yamanaka to the Uchiha, and also a Senju. Rue assumed it was probably Hashirama's child but considering wood release can't be passed on, the Senju would most likely accomplish nothing. Even Tsunade, a Kage level fighter was the weakest of her teammates.
"Rue Ryuzaki." It was finally Rue's turn, the odd one out, the civilian in the midst of all the clan heirs, the Sakura in the Rookie 11.
"My name is Rue Ryuzaki." He sat down.
Rue, didn't want to be dramatic but he was certain that if sweat dropping was a thing, the room would be like a sea.
"And!?" Jumped Danzo Shimura from his seat. The one he least expected to call him out.
However, Rue wasn't stupid enough to try to alienate himself from the room full of future clan heads. Even if he thought himself above most of the people here, that wouldn't be a reason to earn so many enemies.
"I like Ice-cream."
"… I see, well, now that the introductions are out of the way, we'll start with the first class of the day, it's taijutsu practice. Now, don't worry, It's mostly to test how much you know. So, If you don't have a style, It's completely fine. The leaf academy taijutsu style will suffice, though it might take some time to learn it – yes, Ryuzaki."
"Can you give me the scroll for the taijutsu style right now? I might be able to learn it before my match."
"The matches will start in 1 minute, and even if I move your match to the last, that'll only be an extra 3 – "
"Don't worry sir, I'm a fast learner." Everyone in the class – including the baffled teacher – was giving him stares. He was most likely making himself even more mysterious than before, at first, he was only the kid who had no place in the middle of future clan heads but now he was the kid who had the audacity to proclaim that he could learn a whole taijutsu style in 5 minutes.
However, the strangest thing that happened was that not 5 minutes later, the kid beat Chozo Akimichi with a perfect representation of the leaf taijutsu style.
"Ye-Yes. So, now that we've seen which level everyone's currently at. You will all do a warmup and then pick a partner to spar with."
"Yes sensei!"
~ Hokage's Office ~
"So, brother. I like that you also put a civilian in the middle of all the clan heir's, that will calm the civilian council, even if it is only a little. Though I must wonder, wasn't the whole reason, you made that class was so that everyone with destructive capability would be in one room and easier to handle. I don't see how putting an orphan would help – "
Tobirama stopped his brother by putting a finger to his lips, "Just wait a second."
Out of nowhere, a chunin burst into the Hokage's office, the same chunin who had been teaching the class full of clan heirs and the one odd civilian.
"Hokage-sama! Tobirama-sama! I had been doubting you for putting a civilian in my class, I am so incredibly sorry. The child is a prodigy, he memorized the entire leaf Tai Jutsu style in under 5 minutes and used it to beat the clan heir, Choza Akimichi. After that, he started sparring with the Uchiha clan heir, and from what I could see, they were on equal footing, the civilian child might have had actually even had an advantage on the Uchiha clan heir! Hokage-sama, this child's potential is unrivaled. He got 5 out of 5 bullseyes in the Ranged Practice class. When I discreetly performed a Gen Jutsu on the class trying to see whether any of them had a talent in Gen Jutsu, he figured out he was in a Gen Jutsu not even 1 second after I had performed it." The chunin paused to take a breath, "His chakra control is chunin–level at the least, I'm sure that if he tried, he could even walk on water. He probably knows more history than me, and he has more than sufficient knowledge on how to perform a Nin Jutsu even though he's never performed it nor has seen anyone perform it, he can also do all the hand sigs flawlessly, at least chunin level, he'll never learn anything here! You've got to promote – "
Tobirama held a hand up, and said calmly, "You may go."
"Ye- Yes Tobirama-sama!" The man said blushing.
The man walked out of the room quickly but silently. "Now, you see."
"How, is that even possible. Memorizing a Tai Jutsu Style and using it flawlessly, getting 5 out of bullseyes in the Ranged Practice Class. He also knew that he was in a Gen Jutsu instantly even if he didn't know how to get rid of it, that's fantastic on its own. Chunin level chakra control, sufficient knowledge on history, even has knowledge on how to perform a Nin Jutsu, can also perform all the hand signs flawlessly. Do you think he is a spy?"
Tobirama let out a short laugh, "No… I found out about his prodigal nature from the chunin I placed at the orphanage as a Matron, she told me of how this kid could memorize every single detail and how he worked a day in and day out, and she also speculated he IQ was potentially higher than even a Naras. Of course, I was suspicious. A random child who can memorize everything at first glance and has a majestic IQ, if that doesn't sound like a spy, then what does."
Tobirama stopped and took a sip of his water – he always liked to dramatize his speeches – and stared into the eyes of his brother.
"But, no… he was born and raised in the orphanage, he hardly cried and when he did it was always if he wanted something done, the ANBU I put on him told of 0 suspicious activity. Though, from the age of 4 and a half, he started training. Running around the field, punching trees, trying to do push-ups. He was very dedicated. Now, you may be wondering about his chakra control."
He took another sip of his water.
"The chunin had told us he unlocked his chakra accidentally at the age of 3, so now when he was 4 and a half, he was doing his laps when he wasn't looking where he was going – "
"Can you stop telling this like a horror story?"
"… I will tell it as I want. Now, when he was 4 and a half, he was doing his daily laps when he wasn't looking where he was going, he ran through some leaves of this tree, he tried to remove any excess leaves that had stayed on his forehead when some of them didn't move, then after some time standing, the leaf came off. From that day he kept sticking leaves on himself using chakra."
He slammed his hands on the desk and looked up.
"I theorize that he figured out he was using some sort of energy inside him which he later found was chakra. Theorizing that by using it more, he could increase it, he unknowingly started performing chakra control exercises from sticking leaves to himself, to now climbing up trees, that's why he also currently has the chakra levels of a chunin."
"If that's true… this kid must be insanely talented. He will become a great protector of Konoha!"
"No doubt…"
No one would know but this would be the first change of many in this timeline. By recognizing the talent of the prodigal academy student, Rue Ryuzaki, Tobirama had unknowingly triggered the butterfly effect.
~ Rue's Apartment ~
He had arrived at his small apartment. He didn't particularly care about its size, as it was a very nifty place, he was receiving payments from the Hokage at the end of every month, he knew why as it had been part of his plan.
Switching from the dirty casual wear that he had used today for training, he changed into his nightwear, which was a blue shirt, along with a pajama, he liked these 2 clothes, as they were neither comfortable nor uncomfortable.
Switching off his lights, and finally laying down on his bed. He started brooding or more specifically analyzing.
This had become a hobby of his due to the boredom he felt when he was a baby, even after he was sent to the orphanage after his parent's death.
Due to him having nothing to do, and due to his perfect memory. He would analyze everything he did at night just before going to bed, it helped him realize his mistakes, compare patterns, and to theorize what his actions would cause.
Today's day was definitely very special. It also proved my theory of the Hokage or Tobirama noticing my talent, that's the only reason they would put me in the class of the clan heirs. I have every single clan heir in my class, not from the Kurama clan though, maybe they will join Konoha later, as I haven't heard about them that much, in the village to begin with. He took a pause to analyze through his memories trying to find if he had ever heard anything about the Kurama clan. No, I haven't heard of them at least. Ok, so I woke up, had breakfast, did my morning stretches, got to the academy and the class started.
My presence there alone will probably cause a butterfly effect, maybe or maybe not. I may have gone overboard with flaunting my skills… no, it'll be good to present myself as a prodigy, especially as I'm civilian born, I won't be easy to do anything to do if I establish myself as a prodigy since the civilians will most likely take my side as they did with Minato. I think I'm thinking too far ahead. Anyway, after class started, everyone started introducing themselves. From what I can see, Hiruzen is the equivalent of a young Sasuke to anyone but his brother and Danzo is just Naruto if no one despised him.
I probably stood out by being the only one not saying anything about goals, though by only saying I like Ice-cream, I've most likely built a wall around me and they won't consider my arrival but more like a thing to surpass if I keep representing myself as a prodigy which I will definitely do. The eidetic memory makes it hard not to. Now, I think secluding myself from them, is actually very good because that means they won't think that I consider them beneath me, but they will still consider me above them.
Next, Tai Jutsu Practice, by memorizing the Leaf Tai Jutsu Style, I've destroyed any doubts that I wasn't already a prodigy. If me completely memorizing the Leaf Tai Jutsu Style comes out, I will no doubt be hailed as a genius, if that's a good or bad thing, I'm not sure, though I think it has more pros than cons.
In the next classes, I've also cemented in their minds that I can probably beat them easily. Can I beat them easily? Most, if not all of them. There are only 3, maybe 4, I'm not sure about. Hiruzen Sarutobi, Danzo Shimura, Kagami Uchiha, Hakura Senju.
Hiruzen Sarutobi, in pure Tai Jutsu, I might be able to defeat him, I did copy the whole Leaf Tai Jutsu Style, and it has a good offensive and defensive capabilities, and I probably have more strength than him, his Tai Jutsu Style most likely requires a staff like the one he used against Orochimaru in his fight before his death. I might be able to beat him, in a pure Tai Jutsu battle and If I had the resources to learn, he would be no chance for me. But right now... I know how to perform a Jutsu, I only need to use chakra along with the hand signs to perform it, so even if we fight in a no holds barred battle, and he uses Nin Jutsu, I should be able to copy it so I think I can win, I should try to find a better Tai Jutsu Style or create one.
Danzo Shimura, he should be fairly easy, right now. He has nothing going for him especially since he's not under the guidance of Tobirama. I don't know what his Tai Jutsu is, but he seems very brash, so all I need to do is provoke him, let him make the first move, and strike.
Kagami Uchiha, I know that he shouldn't be that hard to fight, especially as I copied the Tai Jutsu Style he was using, even if I didn't showcase it, I'm not sure If I should have, considering that it is an Uchiha Tai Jutsu Style. I can beat him easily, the only hard part would be if he unlocked his Sharingan, but as long as I have more speed, agility, and strength than him, the Sharingan should be easy to beat.
Hakura Senju, from what I could see, he beat the Inuzuka he was fighting against, I didn't watch his fight, so I'm not sure how easily he beat him but he did beat him, so he must be better than the clan heir of the Inuzuka, and the Inuzuka are great at speed, and physical strength, so he must have those and a good Tai Jutsu Style, but he still shouldn't be that much of a problem, I'm positive I have more speed, and physical strength than him, I don't know about stamina considering he is a Senju, and his Nin Jutsu affinity might be very strong for him, though considering he's a half Uzumaki, half Senju, he probably has monstrous chakra. But I doubt he had as much as me, he might be able to get more than me eventually, but right now I have the chakra levels of a chunin, so If he does know any Nin Jutsu, I should be able to copy it to a lesser degree and use speed to finish him off.
Hmm… I guess I should sleep.
The ANBU looking at him sleeping, through his window knew nothing of what he was thinking.

AN1: Sorry, It took so long, I actually wrote a whole chapter detailing his life at the orphanage in 1st person, but I didn't like it, also got really confused writing it since I wrote a lot of it in the past tense, so now I'm writing this story in 3rd person.
AN2: I'm not going to do the analyze thing every chapter, I might do it sometimes, and even when he's sparring or fighting with someone, I can make him recall one of his nightly analyses, and use the information he theorized about them there t beat them in the present.
AN3: This AN might look similar to the AN of "Harry Potter and the Prince of Slytherin", that's because I got the inspiration to make the AN like this from there.
AN4: I'll be sad if anyone leaves due to me switching to 3rd person, but I'll understand, I did kind of overhaul the story a little, but I like writing like this more.
AN5: Also, tell me If I should change the 1st Chapter into 3rd person also, or if the 1st person suits it.
AN6: I also made this Time Table for the Academy, If you think that the Academy is supposed to have something else as well, feel free to post your version of the Time Table as I'm really not sure whether the kids should have something like Physics for their classes. If I like your Time Table better, then I'll say the first day was just to test someone's potential and how far ahead they are. I also didn't know how long a class in the academy would be, so feel free to make the academy as long as possible, in your timetable and If it's suitable enough, I'll pick it.
Academy Timings
1st class: Taijutsu Practice (8:00 – 8:40)
2nd class: Ranged Practice (8:40 – 9:20)
3rd class: Gen Jutsu Practice (9:20 – 10:00)
4th class: Chakra Control (10:00 – 10:40)
5th class: History (10:40 – 11:20)
6th class: Ninjutsu (11:20 – 12:00)
