Year 6, Day 256
~ Hokage's Office ~
Hashirama Senju groaned at all the paperwork that was currently sitting at his desk. He really hated paperwork.
On normal days. He would finish his paperwork – which was a lot – early and then he would get to spend time with his wife Mito, but today, he wasn't going to get the chance.
Today was graduation day. Normally, this day would be totally normal, Tobirama had made sure any paperwork related to the academy was finished when he originally made the academy – his brother really was a hard worker.
But due to them allowing the two geniuses to graduate early, it had caused an uproar in all the clans.
Every single clan agreed that the two academy students deserved early graduation but when it did happen, they all were suddenly against it! At this point, Hashirama didn't know what would make them happy, especially with the new addition of the Hyuga clan only a few months back.
He needed to start handing out political power, political power that could be used against them at any turn. His brother Tobirama had given him an excellent suggestion yesterday to his problems – he knew Tobirama would become a wonderful Hokage one day – right now, most if not all the clans were against the Hokage, this was putting a lot of pressure on him and Konoha as a result, so to make sure this never happened again, he had to redirect the ire of all the clans towards each other.
Hashirama had never been one for manipulation but he was still a ninja.
Now, the Uchiha can have control over the Police, whilst the Hyuga branch family will oversee the captured prisoners, perfect. This will make it so that the Uchiha can't use their authority as Police against other clans due to the Hyuga, a natural rival clan against the Uchiha controlling the other half of the police. This will also make it so that the Hyuga branch family won't just be servants of the Hyuga.
He started filling the paperwork, riddled with new ideas on how to stabilize Konoha, his previous tiredness forgotten, filled with a new drive, a drive to better Konoha.
~ Academy, Class A ~
The whole class was currently sitting, waiting for their sensei to arrive, the only ones who knew of the announcement today, were one Rue Ryuzaki and Hiruzen Sarutobi, officially. Unofficially, the whole class knew, as it was filled with clan heirs.
No one noticed Danzo gritting his teeth and clenching his fist.
Their sensei walked in, "Today, we'll be wishing two of our classmates a farewell, they will be becoming fully-fledged ninja to protect Konoha."
He cleared his throat, "Hiruzen Sarutobi, you will be in an apprenticeship under Tobirama Senju."
Hiruzen beamed, whilst Rue looked confused, What.
"Rue Ryuzaki, you will be in an apprenticeship under Madara Uchiha."
Rue was ready to pass out, however, his face remained passive.
"Lord Tobirama and Lord Madara both have passed me a message regarding you two, Hiruzen Sarutobi, you will go to Training ground 7 tomorrow, Rue Ryuzaki, you will go to Training ground 44. Understood?"
"Hai!"
The two geniuses left.
~ Rue's Apartment ~
Upon entering his apartment, Rue immediately went to his bed, laid down, pulled the covers over his head, and immediately acted like he was sleeping in case any ANBU were watching, internally he was raging.
All my planning, every single thing I did to place me in an apprenticeship under Tobirama Senju so that I would be protected politically. I was placed in an apprenticeship under Madara Uchiha, the would-be infamous traitor. I played my part so well so that I wouldn't have to die and go to the Void again, only for me to be placed in an apprenticeship under the would be a most powerful person in the universe. Hoooo. Deep breaths. Deep breaths.
Rye shifted.
Maybe, this is a blessing in disguise, Madara must be a competent teacher. Ok, Ok. Let's think about this logically, why would I be placed in an apprenticeship under Madara Uchiha.
Rue thought in silence.
Ah! I think I've got it. They're probably giving me to Madara as a peace offering due to Madara not becoming the Hokage, that must be it!
I just need to make the most out of this.
So with his plan rethought out, he waited 30 minutes in case any ANBU were watching him, and then continued his day like normally whilst trying to adapt to the plan he had created.
Year 6, Day 257
"You don't look like much."
"Oh?"
"Yes, you actually seem very weak, I bet any Uchiha could beat you."
"That's an interesting observation sensei."
Yes, After waking up and taking the time to properly get ready and get to the forest of death in time, then waiting for Madara Uchiha for 30 minutes. His sensei started to talk smack about him. It didn't actually bother him that much at all.
When Rue was young, he had realized a mask would never work, people like Madara Uchiha, Tobirama Senju and Hashirama Senju were sure to figure out that he was wearing a mask. So instead of only presenting himself as a cunning prodigal genius, he started thinking like that too, completely revamping his whole personality to fit better as a Shinobi. It honestly wasn't that hard either.
"Well, I guess it is my job to teach you, however, I'm not going to teach just anyone. You've got to prove yourself."
"Ah?"
"Yes, you've got to at least touch me once!"
Hmm… That's going to be basically impossible, that must mean he will definitely not be fighting at his best.
"Hai!"
"Start!"
Rue body flickered out.
It would be impossible for him to not notice a trap, especially with his Sharingan, and due to his experience, getting a one-up on him is theoretically impossible, but I need to get an advantage somehow… He hopelessly outclasses me, but I don't need to beat him, I only need to touch him.
He's cocky, so he won't turn his Sharingan on, I can use that to my advantage.
I made the hand signs for the Clone Jutsu; Boar – Ox – Dog
As long as he doesn't turn his Sharingan on, he won't know which is me.
He makes 15 Clones
"Any time now!"
I have no doubt that he knows where I'm hiding but at the end that doesn't really matter.
5 of his Clones go out to the front to fight, whilst, he and the rest all hide in strategical places.
His clones cause Madara no shock at all, which doesn't matter as they are distractions.
He silently dispels the clones with the Kai seal, when suddenly the 2 more Clones pop out from nowhere, he dispels them again but one of them doesn't dispel, this confusion allows Rue the advantage and he un-henges from the rock under Madara and touches him.
"You…" He starts chuckling, "I see you used the fact I didn't turn my Sharingan on to your advantage, smart. Training begins today."
~ Hokage's Office ~
"You've always hated Madara, how come you let him take your prized possession," asked the older Senju.
"You see brother, I have a plan."

AN1: A review that I for some reason couldn't reply to pointed out that the civilian council was fanon, and the civilians had no power right now, and whilst that's true and the civilian council won't be in this story, the civilians do still submit the most missions, and the civilians are the economy in a way, so they are important.
AN2: the last part with Madara was seriously lacking, and this whole chapter in general due to me having writer's block. Also, I don't know how to write a fight scene, so this was the best I could do for now.
AN3: Also, in this chapter, I explain the huge personality shift of our Main character, in one of the chapters, he'll have a mental breakdown maybe, but right now I'm sticking to his artificial personality.
