Chapter 1
Jake was working at Smart aid stacking adult diapers when his supervisor Shelley came walking up to him. He had a phone call, later that afternoon Shelley was driving him home when he got a phone call it was his grandfather.
"Where is the key to my gun cabinet?" Abe said over the phone to Jake.
"Dad has it for safekeeping," Jake replied.
"He expects me to fight them with no weapon," Abe said before he hung up.
Shelley drove to Abe's house after getting direction from Jake. When they got there, it was a dark time. Jake got out of the car and walked to the front door. He grabbed his key out of his pocket and unlocked the door. When he opened the door, somebody has trashed the house.
"Shelley, it looks like someone broke in," Jake yelled out.
"I've got a gun in my glove box," Shelley replied and grabbed the gun from the glovebox. Jack walked through the house to the backyard. He saw the screen door. It was like someone had run through it. Somebody broke the fence, and a flashlight was on the ground.
Jake picked it up and looked for his grandfather; he found him face down on the ground. Jake walked over to him and sat down on his knees. He turned him over and saw his eyes were missing. He grabbed his phone to call an ambulance.
Abe grabbed Jake's arm.
"Go to the island. The bird will protect you and find your sister," Abe said before he died.
