Chapter 2
Jake's parents sent Jake to talk to a phycologist called Dr. Golan to talk about what happened to his grandfather, and then he started talking about the stories his grandfather told him.
When he finished his session with her, his father took him to his grandfather's house, where they started packing the stuff they wanted to keep. Jake saw a photo of him and his grandfather, then he found another one of his sisters, but instead of being little, she was all grown up.
Jake kept the two photos, and he and his dad left to go home. Today was Jake's 16th birthday when they got home and walked inside.
"Surprise, happy birthday Jake." Everyone yelled. Jake walked into his bedroom and laid down on his bed. His Aunt Susie walked into his bedroom with a present in her hand.
"It's from your grandfather. I guess he wanted to give it to you when you were older but didn't get a chance to." Aunt Susie said. She handed it over to Jake, then walked out of the bedroom. When she left Jake opened it up, and it was a book, he opened it, and on the front page, it had something written by his grandfather.
To Jake,
and the worlds he has
yet to discover.
From Grandfather.
Jake turned the page over, and there were two postcards there. He picked them up. One was from a place called Cairnholm, it said.
My dearest abe, I hope this card finds you well.
The children and I yearn for your news,
I do hope you will visit again soon.
We would so love to see you.
With the admiration of Alma Peregrine.
The other one was from his sister Trinity from Blackpool, she had a loop in the same area as Miss Avocet, and the postcard said.
Dear Grandfather
The children and I are doing fine
They miss you, and so do I but
I know you have been busy if
you see, Jake give him my love
Your Granddaughter Trinity.
Jake showed Dr. Golan the postcards, and she thought it was a good idea for him to see Miss Peregrine.
