I have decided to skip the Sasuke Retrieval arc cause y'know Orochimaru is dead. I have decided that there will be a catch for the Jugojin. You'll figure out what it is later. Chapter 7: A Dire Change? Unseen consequences and advantages!
O=O=OThe wind is blowing. There's a slight downpour, and it's the best weather. The sky is dark with all the clouds blocking out the sun. Everything is quiet and still in the leaf village. It seems peaceful. Everything seems alright. Then, as sure as scissors cut paper, the peace is broken.
"Huff… huff…" I gotta make it back. One last time. I have to see her again. I'm gonna make it. The leaf village… I'm coming.

The guards at the gate notice a figure walking past the gate, hunched over. "Hey, stop! You have to ID yourself." They say as the figure throws his ID at them and keeps walking. He soon disappears from their sight. "What?! Find him! I'll go report this to Lady Tsunade." The spiky-haired one said to the other one. They both run off to do their objectives.

I've made it finally. Good. I'm not sure how much time I have left. A door opens to a moderately-sized apartment. It's a little messy, but that doesn't really matter since there's a trail of blood on the floor now. The door in the back opens and reveals a bedroom. A lone figure is sleeping, cuddled up with a pillow. "Huff… huff… Anko… I made it." Anko stirs awake and jumps into defense mode. The figure reaching out towards her collapses. Lightning flashes, and she spots the trail of blood leading to the room. Worry washes over her as she rushes over to check the figure. A pink steel colored mop of hair greets her as she checks the dark armored man. Tears spill from her eyes as she picks the figure up and rushes him to the hospital.

It only takes 2 minutes to get to the hospital, but that time seems to take forever. The door to the hospital bursts open. "I need help, now! Get me a doctor!" Anko yells as she's holding a man. Blood dripping from slash across his chest. He's getting more pale by the second. A medical team rushes in and takes him from her. Moments later the Hokage rushes in with her advisor, Shizune, and Inoichi, the best damn mind transfer specialist this century. They rush after the team transporting the armor-clad breathing corpse. Anko was left in the waiting room. Blood covering her, and fear filling her veins.

"Inoichi, get inside his head and talk to him now. Doctor, you support me, and Shizune get me some alcohol. Tonight is gonna be long." Tsunade said, as she started preparing to work on the dying man.
"Yes, ma'am!" They all shout as they head to do what they were assigned.

Inside the mindscape
"Hello?! Kin! Where are at?!" Inoichi was yelling, hoping he could find him in time.
"Calm down, Inoichi. I'm right here." Kin said as he light a cigarette and took a drag off of it. "Hmm, I guess die tonight, huh? I had it coming. Who knew it'd be the second time my life would end. Not that I died the first time."
"What… what are you talking about, Kin? You're not making sense. That doesn't matter. You'll be fine. I need to know what happened on the mission." Inoichi was practically pleading with him.
"It was a clusterfuck. The worst kind of wrong. The intel was completely misguided. I was lucky to even make it out. Let alone keep the other two alive. I don't know how we could fuck it worse than they did at the bay of pigs." He says with a bitter chuckle.
"The bay…? What went wrong? We need to know." He's says getting short with Kin. They both know he's running out of time.
"There weren't just a single cell of them. The entire organization was there. They led us in and cut us down. Who knew they'd sabotage the intel? We sure as hell didn't think about it. The two that were most terrifying? A man called Pein with 5 puppets and Itachi Uchiha, kin slayer. The others weren't anything, but those two? Paired together, all of 'em were a different kind of beast, not even I could handle."
Inoichi's blood ran cold. "You mean the entire Akatsuki was there? Who were the leaders and the rest of them? What happened to Bear and Dragon?"
"They're long dead. Cut down and impaled like ripe waves of livestock. The ones that I can identify that we didn't know were Hidan, Kakuzu, a man named Tobi, a paper jutsu user named Konan, and the leader Pein. Tobi is something else. He acts all happy, but I can't tell that deep down he's one psychotic son of a bitch." Kin says as he finishes the cigarette and puts it out.
"Fuck, don't do anything. Stay just like this. I'll be back momentarily." Inoichi said, preparing to leave and relay the info to Tsunade.
"Hahahaha! Don't bother. Just do me a favor and tell Anko that I love her. I'm dead in the next hour, max." He says as he lit another cigarette and waved Inoichi away. A single tear falls and puts it out. He lifts it again and takes another puff. 'Why me?'

An hour later
The monitor beeps. The line falls. Flatline. Tsunade is put under more pressure than she's had to deal with in years. She's trying to bring him back up, but nothing is working. One second… two seconds… 10 seconds… 20… 60… 180. "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Why can't I save one damn life?!" The monitor is unplugged, and a sheet is draped over the body. Nothing more to be said.
A nurse is taken outside to inform the family. Wails of a widow could be heard. The worst part is knowing that he was still right about everything in the end. Tsunade won't be able to handle this, and Anko is put in a worse position.

I take the last drag of the last cigarette. My vision cracks. "What?! What's going on?" It goes dark.

My eyes open. What was I doing again? Oh yeah, I was going to get something to eat with Sarutobi and Naruto. It's almost time for the Academy. So, they're getting me ready for it. I don't know what I'd do without them. They've been kind to me, since I've got here. Man… it feels like it's been forever. I snap out of my thoughts as I reach Ichiraku.
"Hello, Kin. Come take a seat. We just got here." Sarutobi says with a smile, as he motions to the seat next to him and Naruto.
"Okay. Thanks, gramps. Uhh, sorry. You just remind me of my grandpa back when he was alive. Since he's gone, I don't really have anyone else. So… uh… sorry about that." I say a little depressed now. I shouldn't focus on somber things like that.
"It's okay, Kin. I don't mind. I like to think of myself as the whole village's grandpa. I'll protect and care for everyone as much as I can. So, you can call me whatever." He says, smiling. Naruto chimes in with him. "Yeah, he's even fine with me doing it, so you're fine, Kin."
"Thanks guys. I say as I wipe my eyes." I miss my grandpa. I bet he's worried that I just disappeared from our world. I'm sorry, old man. So sorry. I can't be sad right now though. I can wait until later.

We all finished eating and we're going to get me some clothes for the academy. As we walk in, we're greeted by a cute blonde girl. I blush a little from seeing her. She's super pretty. I'm a little dazed from seeing her and don't realize that I'm staring. Naruto bumps into me, and I quickly look away and try to find some clothes.
I find some black cargo pants with some matching combat boots. I'm really fond of these for some reason. They're a little stained with something, but I can always wash them. Next I'm looking for a shirt, but nothing sticks out to me until I spot something underneath the rack of clothes. Some dark blue armor? Hmm, I love it! That's exactly what I wanted actually. It's stained too though. Maybe it's a pattern? Idk. I walk towards the cash register, and the girl smirks at me. "That's all that you want?"
Hmm, she sounds a bit disappointed, but I can't really think of anything else. My hair falls in my face. I go to brush it out and boom. Idea! I look behind her at all of the accessories. I see a black headband that would go good with my outfit. It has the same pattern to it too. Also, I ask for that lion mask. I like lions, and I wanna do some prank stuff with Naruto soon.
She smiles and nods. She rings it up, and we pay for it. Before we leave, I look at her. "Um, hey. What's your name?" I ask, as she turns towards me. "My name is Temari. What's yours?" My throat gets a little tight for some reason. "Kin." She hums and nods. "Well, Kin. Don't you have something you need to be doing, right now?" I'm confused. This was the only thing. "What?"
My head throbs painfully. My vision splits. My memories come back. What the hell am I doing here? This isn't right. What's happening? I close my eyes and snap awake.

I sit up in a hospital bed. I look outside, and it's the same leaf village. Well, it's a little different, but I probably just haven't been paying very much attention. I get out of bed and almost fall. I guess I'm still a little weak. I walk out of the room and go to the front desk.
"Um hey. Where do I sign myself out at?" I ask the nurse at the front desk. "You can sign this little paper right here." She says as she grabs a form and turns towards me to hand me it. Her eyes widen, and the form falls. I pick it up and am starting to get confused. "Uh, is something wrong?" I look back at her and ask. She turns and calls the doctor. I refuse to wait for him, so I just fill it out real quick and leave.
As I'm walking out, I look at my clothes. Ugh hospital attire. I hate it. I'm walking down the street, and it's confusing. Everything looks different and the same all at once. Whatever. I just need to get to Anko.

I make it back to the house, and there's some chatter inside. Ah, I guess she has some people over. They must be worried.
I open the door as confetti flies. A table with a little kid at it is filled with gifts and a cake. Anko's taking a picture of him, while smiling. Iruka is here? I don't understand what's going on.
"Umm, Anko?" I say as I'm standing in the doorway. She's frozen as soon as she turns to look at me. Iruka has a worried look. "What's wrong? Everyone is acting like someone died or something. Hahaha." I laugh. "I didn't think you two knew each other. Small town, huh?" I say as I laugh. The kid just looks at me. "Dad, who's that?" Iruka just smiles at him. "Oh, he's a student I had in the Academy."
I'm surprised. "Dang. I didn't know you had a kid, Iruka. That's great! He looks big too." I notice that Anko hasn't said a word, yet. She looks like she's about to cry. "Hey, Anko… are you okay? You're starting to scare me. I'm fine. That mission was survived." I say as I smile towards her, hoping that would fix it. It didn't seem to help. The tears spilt over finally, and she walked away. "Hey, Anko. What's wrong?" I take a step towards her, but Iruka blocks my path. "Maybe, you should go somewhere and let her have a bit."
This actually pisses me off. What right does he have? I should be able to ask my wife what's wrong without someone that isn't even involved to butt in. "What the hell do you think you're doing, Iruka? You shouldn't butt in when matters don't concern you." I say, feeling a little violent.
The kid looks scared. He finally speaks up, "Dad. What's wrong with Mom?" Iruka's eyes widen, but he replies normally, "Nothing, Keisuke. She's just surprised."
It all hits me now. I finally see an image on the counter. Iruka holding Anko. Family pictures littered about. I don't understand! What's happening? What's happening? What's fucking happening?!
"What… what's going on? Hahaha." I start laughing, nervously. "This is a joke right, Iruka. Hey, Anko! This is a joke, right?! I'm not laughing, anymore!"
Iruka's face doesn't change. "You need to go, Kin." He leads me out. Hahaha. I'm in hell. I must be. There's no other explanation. Nah, nah. I'm just in another one of those dreams. I just need to find the point of it. I walk along the road, feeling determined. Then, I met Naruto. "Hey, Naruto. What's up, man?"
He turns. He's with Hinata. Huh? That's strange. "Hey, Naruto. Who's the kid? Another little Konohamaru?" I say as I start laughing.
"Wh… what? When did you wake up, Kin?" He said as he spilled his ramen and rushed over, touching my face. I lightly bat his hand away. "Naruto. What do you even mean? Not you too. Iruka and Anko were pranking me. I guess you're in on it too." I say as I sigh.
"You've been in a coma for three years, Kin." He said with dead seriousness. "Haha, if I was in a coma, then wouldn't I be super duper weak? Look, I can still do all my jutsu. I'll even make them super-sized." I say as I put my hands together and summon all the chakra that I can without giving myself exhaustion and make a huge water dragon. Double what they say the Kyuubi was. I turn it all to ice and send it past Hokage Mountain. "Hah, in your face, Naruto. I could barely do that before my last mission. I feel like I could do it at least two more times." I say, thoroughly proving him wrong. Though… he does look different. He's changed a lot.
"Hey, old man. Can you get me a newspaper and a bowl of ramen?" I say, mentally laughing. They'd never expect me to get ramen. I haven't ate that shit in years.
I get the ramen and eat it super quickly. I finally get the newspaper and look at the date. Only August 30th. I was on my mission during the 27th. Only took me a few days. Dope. Wait… 796? It should only be 793.
"So, I was in a coma? That doesn't make sense though, Naruto. Anko wouldn't just move on after three years. She wouldn't. She loved me." I say, tears filling my eyes. She wouldn't betray me like that. She's too good for that.
"I'm sorry, Kin. I can't speak for her. I came by to visit almost every week though. I promise. Sarutobi did too. The sand delegates from the chunnin exams were there for a little towards the end too." Naruto said, trying to make me feel better.
"Thanks, Naruto. But… I still think this is a dream. I've done horrible stuff, but I don't think this would be the hell that I was given."
"Kin. Calm down, man. Sit down and just talk. I'm here for you. Hinata take Boruto and head home for now." He said to her. She nodded and took the kid away. "I think we should go see Hiruzen." Naruto said, as he led me there.

Apparently, Hiruzen was informed of my awakening beforehand. He simply greeted me and got ready to discuss this with me. "We don't have to, Grandpa. I… think I understand. I simply wasn't good enough. That cost me everything."
His face drops and a bad mood sets in. "Kin, my boy. It's gonna be hard, but I know you can pull through it. She might not have been the one, but you can't let that completely destroy you. You'll meet the one that you connect with. They'll always be there for you. Besides, while I'm still alive, you still have your grandpa, right?"
Tears flow down my cheeks as I collapse. I would have rather died than deal with this. Instead of making everyone sad just once, I've made them grieve twice, and I've had to deal with something I never knew I was fearful of. But, I wipe my cheeks and stop my weeping. Demons don't cry. That's what I'll be. A demon. I hug Naruto and Hiruzen. "Yeah, Grandpa. You'll be my grandpa forever, won't you?"
"Of course." He says as he rubs my back. A tear slowly falls from my eyes.

A week later
"Thank you for reporting your mission. You may leave."
"Yes, Lady Tsunade." I say as I jump out of the tower and land softly. I walk down the street. I hate looking at my face. It brings back unwanted memories of the past. I've taken to wearing a mask now.
"What the fuck?! Is that bl… blood?" A random person says.
I look down and realize I'm drenched with it. I need to take a shower.

After I shower, I take a look at myself. I took too long washing the blood out. My hair is a very faint pink now. It looks stupid, but what can I do? Well, I can get it dyed back ofc.
I walk outside and head down the street. I bump into a little kid, and he falls on the ground. I look at him. He looks familiar. I can't tell though. Out of nowhere, I sense danger. I dodge it with the slightest movement. A hand crossed in front of my face. A very angry-looking Anko is staring at me. "Hello, Anko. Fine day it is. Hey, kid. Be aware because you can't trust other people to be. Live for yourself cause you can't trust others." I look at her, pointedly. Her anger fades and she looks to the side.
"... what was I supposed to do?" She whispered quietly. "Ha… hahahaha. Don't ask me, Anko. I'm not in your life anymore. But, my guess would be to support me." I said, as rage, hurt, and grief filled my voice.
"I did! I supported you for months. You didn't make a single movement or anything to let me know." She said, tears falling.
"No. You gave up on me is what you did. I thought you loved me, but I guess I was just the best person at the time. I'm glad you found the one. I hope he kept you nice and warm, while I laid in a bed alone." I say as tears fall. I chuckle. "The leaf village lotus blooms twice. Gold is the color of the petals." I say as I look at the kid, finally noticing his light purple hair. "Well, kid." I say as I ruffle his hair and finally smile a little. "I'll have to spend some more time with you. If your mom will allow it, that is. She has some stuff to deal with. Anko, don't be ashamed of the choice you made. You can't change it. I'm destroyed, but I'll heal. Just don't keep me from the kid. I deserve to be around him." I get up and head to the Hokage Tower. It's time for me to get another mission. I've spent too much time here already.

"Hey, Tsunade. I need another mission." I say as I step into the Hokage tower from the window.
"First, go through the damn door. Second, there is no more for you. None that you want anyways, but there is a delegation mission for two years. If you want, I'll assign you to that." She said, looking at me. There's a glint in her eye. I don't know what she's planning, but I don't like it. Still, circumstances are forcing me. "Fine. Where am I going?" I ask, getting slightly annoyed.
"Hidden Sand. You leave tomorrow at 10 am" She replies and dismisses me.

I walk back to Anko's house since it's only 7 pm and knock on the door. It opens, and Anko is there. "Change of plans. I'd like to hang out with the kid for a few hours. When should I return him?" She looks inside and shuts the door. "I don't know if I should let you see him. After all that you said to me." I frown, "Anko, I'm not gonna argue. I see the hair color. I wanna know my son." I say as I get firm. I'm not backing down from this. "He doesn't even know that your his dad." She said as she looked away. "I know. That part hurt a lot too. The fact that the kid wasn't even aware of his dad. It hurts a lot. For you, it's been years. For me? It's been two weeks. I still love you, but you don't love me back. Not like how you used to. You've moved on." I say as I sigh and sit down. "I'm useless now. The only thing I'm good for is killing and making an old man happy. Hiruzen isn't gonna last much longer. Let me actually have a reason to live, so I don't kill myself whenever Gramps dies."
"Don't do that." She said as she sounded legitimately upset. "At least with the coma, I could visit you from time to time. And I still love you. Iruka just happened. I can't say anything else. He consoled me. You'll always be in my heart. So just please. Don't die. I'll let you see the kid whenever you want." She wrapped her arms around me and laid her head on my shoulder.
Tears start dripping on her face. "I came by to see him before I left. I'm going to the sand for two years. Delegation mission. Anko. You shouldn't give me hope like this. I… it hurts." I say as I lean into her hug. She starts crying a little, and my barriers break. I can't hold the sadness anymore. Tears streaming down my face, and my vision going weird. I give her one last kiss on the lips. She kisses me back, and I pull away, turning my back to her. "Can you bring him out here?" I ask, wiping my eyes. She nods and does the same.

She brings him out and tells him that he's gonna spend some time with me, Uncle Kin.
"Hey, kid. You wanna go eat somewhere?" I ask as I pick him up and give him a piggie-back ride. He's a little nervous still I can see. It hurts my feelings, but I'll make sure that we're close. "Umm, sure." He says, uncertain. "Well, alright. Let's have some fun then!" I say as I slightly run towards Ichiraku.
Once I get there, Teuchi greets me and smiles. "Hey there, Kin. The kid is looking big. When did you guys have him?" I kinda look away. "Well, it was a few years ago. Anko and Iruka had him. It's really great to hear. Just taking the kid out as his "Uncle". Anko and I are working out the details." I say trying to get my point across. Seeing as how his face dropped a little towards the end, I'd say he got the memo.
"Well, Ayame is here, too. She's been needing a boy. You should go out with her sometime." He says smirking, trying to make the best out of the situation. I laugh a little. "Yeah, well, if I were you, I'd watch out. She'd bite your head off and chew it up for that. Also, I'd be wanting me as a son-in-law too. Hahaha." We both laugh, as Ayame walks up to the bar. "In good spirits today?" She asks as she smiles. Teuchi chuckles, "Sure are."
She notices the kid and her eyes sparkle, "Aww, who's the kid, Kin. I didn't know you had a little mini-me. He's adorable." The kid blushed from that. I chuckle. "Well, there kid. You got yourself a little girlfriend. How about that?" The duo start chuckling as well.
"Well, what's his name?" She asks me, as she puts down the ramen we ordered. "Uhh, I'm not entirely sure yet. I've been a little busy for the past week. Kid, what's your name?" He stutters a little, "M.. my name is Gin." That makes me happy to hear. Very happy. I smile widely. "Well, you two heard the boy. His name is Gin."
"He's precious. You should've told me you guys were having a son. I would've dropped by to see him when he was little" She said. I cough slightly, "Actually, I'm his uncle." I repeat for the second time this hour. Teuchi nudges her to drop it for now.
We finish our ramen while having some small talk. "Hmm, well. I think it's about time we headed out. The boy needs to get home. Before I leave though, Ayame do you wanna hang out tonight after you get off, maybe?" She looks a little taken aback and pauses for a moment. I decide to just drop it. "Eh, it's fine. You don't have to. I'll see you guys later then." I say as I get up to leave. "Wait, I'll meet you in an hour, on the dot. Be here and dress up." She says, looking stern. 'Damn, she's adorable when she does that.' I look down at my clothes and chuckle, "Yeah, I'll be here. See you soon."
I pick the kid up and give him a piggyback rise again.

Before we get to Anko's house, I stop. "Hey, kid. Wanna have a Snowcone ?"
"Yes!!! Can I really have one this late, Uncle Kin?"
"You sure can, buddy. Let's stop by the grocery store."
We make it there and grab some syrup, spoons, and cups. I take us outside and grab a kunai. I make a little ice dragon. He's amazed by this as his eyes sparkle and grins. I shave the dragon up as much as I can into two cups. I pour the syrup on it and boom. Snowcones.
I give the kid one and he tries it. He tastes it for a bit and then starts destroying it. He's done in about 5 minutes. I give him mine and start walking him home. "Hey kid. I'm gonna see if your mom will let me bring you to the sand occasionally. How would you like that?" I ask him, slightly weary of his answer. "As long as I have fun, then I'm fine to go anywhere, Uncle Kin." I smile and walk him up the steps. I take the Snowcone and chuck it away. "Sorry, kid. Your mom would kill me if she found out though." I wash his face and hands off then knock on the door. Anko opens it and smiles. "Did you two have fun?" She asked mainly to him, but she was probably worried about me too, given the crease in her brow going away.
"Yeah, Mom! I had a lot of fun. Uncle Kin is great." He said, smiling.
"Yeah, it was a blast. Thank you, Anko. Also, I know it's far, but I was wondering if I could occasionally take him to and from the sand. Just to spend some more time with him. Like a weekend every month?" I ask, tasing my brow. She ponders it and nods. "I can accept that. It's the least I could do."
"Sweet thanks, Anko." I go to leave and she tells me to wait up. She sends the kid inside and walks up to me. She leans in and kisses me. "I'm not even sure if Iruka will work out. We've been dating for a while, but I haven't been able to do anything past that. It's been hard with you not here." I kiss her back and put my hand on her shoulder. "I hope it works out. You… seem happy." I avert my eyes when I say this. I say my goodbyes and walk off.

I go home and dress up in some nice clothes. Khaki pants, button up shirt with a white undershirt, and some nice shoes.
