Natsu feels the fire in his skin, he opens his eyes seeing his surroundings. He is inside of an abandoned temple.
He closes his eyes trying to remember the last thing that happened to him.
Memories of his battle against the dragon slayers turned into dragons and his last battle against Acnalogia. Natsu grit his teeth remembering that battle.
Another memory of him seeing Irene covered in dragon scales. Betrayal of General Rung. Cutting off Rung's hands. Killing the guards. Protecting Irene and their child. And talking to his brother and his wife in her newly formed dragon. And then darkness...
Natsu grit his teeth at the painful memories he receives. He remembers his death and his afterlife. He remembers talking to Him.
' It's true. I came back to life. Just like what he said.' Natsu thought then remembering that there is one person that became his bridge to come back into life.
He heard a heartbeat and smell a familiar scent making him turn towards the source seeing his brother's soft gaze.
" E.N.D." He said hesitantly. Natsu understands what he is trying to say. Natsu look at his brother.
" I'm not E.N.D... It's me Zeref-nii... Natsu Dragneel" Natsu said making Zeref eyes widen.
" Y-You remember me?" Zeref asks in shock. Creating E.N.D. is creating new life means his brother will be revived but he will lose his memories from the past.
" Yes. Do I supposed not to remember my brother I grow up with?" Natsu asks raising his brow. Zeref let his tears flow.
" Y-You really came back into life." Zeref cried then he suddenly felt a pain in his head making his eyes widen and stare at his brother in horror.
" N-No... Stay away Natsu!" Zeref shout to his brother, warning him to stay away from him as soon as possible but Natsu didn't listen, instead, he stares at his brother who is pain.
" Zeref-nii. It will be okay" Natsu approaches his brother who tries to step back away from his brother when black miasma spread around him enveloping both of them.
" N-No! W-What have I done?" Zeref muttered holding his head letting out a cry of despair. His brother just came back into life as a human and because of his curse, he accidentally has taken his life.
" It's okay, brother. I-I'm not affected." Zeref whips his head and looks in shock seeing his brother in front of him touching his shoulder, not affected by his curse.
" H-How?" Zeref doesn't understand what's happening anymore. And the fact that his brother looks so calm confused him.
" It's the secret of my own" Natsu wink with his finger in a shushing manner. Zeref looks at his brother in apprehension.
" Why are you so calm right now? Shouldn't you be shocked at what happened?" Zeref asks.
" Seeing the black miasma surrounded us and the fact that inside nothing is living aside from us. I can conclude that you did something that angered God... So? Who's God did you angered?" Natsu asks Zeref.
" Ankhersiam" Zeref told his brother meekly who hummed like he is expecting the answer from him.
" How long since it has been since I died?" Natsu asks.
" It's been 159 years." Zeref said solemnly making Natsu eyes widen.
' 159 years... It's been so long' Natsu thought in a grimace.
" And where is Irene? I expect my wife to be here" Natsu said sniffing around trying to find the scent of his wife.
" After you died. Irene flew away and never to be seen again. I tried to find her but it becomes a dead end. I can guess that she hide in a secluded area." Zeref told his brother who became worried about his wife and his daughter.
" Then. I need to find her. I need to see if she's safe" Natsu said walking out of the temple. He is shocked when he suddenly felt the magic around the Earthland is not like he used to.
" Natsu. Finding her right now is not a great idea." Zeref said following his brother outside. He saw the shocked look on his brother's face. "Is there something wrong? Brother" Zeref asks.
" What happened to the ethernano here? I almost feel nothing" Natsu said looking around.
" When he cursed me. I began to feel desperate to die since I can't control the curse up till now. Then. I started creating Etherious, the things that can kill me. But all of them became a failure." Zeref explained to his brother.
" Wait... Failure?" Natsu asks. Knowing his brother, he never creates failure in his project.
" Yes... Its supposed to kill me but they have done the opposite. They began to worship me and try to spread darkness under my influence. I sealed all of them away. Creating Etherious need a lot of magic from this world. When I revive you, the ethernano in this world almost wipe away." Zeref explained sadly. Nowadays, people start to fear him and Zeref tries to isolate himself from the world.
Looking at his brother who is revived as human. Zeref wonder what happens to his Etherious Form. Perhaps it was sealed in his book since Awakening E.N.D. supposed to wipe out every magic in this world. And the fact that there is still magic means that Natsu's Etherious Form is still sealed.
PAK!
Zeref eyes widen feeling the punch from his brother. It's a weak punch considering he just came back from life and his magic still not replenished. But he can still feel his punch.
" N-Natsu?" Zeref asks watching his brother's face cover with his hair.
" W-Why? Why sacrifice your happiness because of mine? You could have a family and grow old. But why would you bring me back to life just to see you suffer because of this curse!?" Natsu shouts lifting Zeref from his place with Natsu clutching his shirt.
" Y-You could have everything... You are at the peak of your career. You're supposed to be old right now. Having a wife, child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. W-why let yourself suffer? Why?" Natsu sob kneeling in front of his brother with his head leaning on his chest.
" Because you are my brother... We only have each other... And your family will need you. Irene and Erza need you. I may suffer from this curse but I know you will find your family once again. You are my only family. Natsu" Zeref said hugging his brother letting him cry.
Timeskip
" What happened in this world for 159 years?" Natsu asks. Both brothers walking in their old home in Mildian where Zeref stay during his research.
" Since the end of Dragon King Festival. A lot of things change." Zeref answers his brother.
" Dragon King Festival?" Natsu asks in confusion.
" That's what people nowadays called the battle between the dragons and dragonslayers." Zeref answered.
" Huh. People this day with their naming of events" Natsu scoffed as they arrive in their old home. Natsu can see his grave beside their parent's grave. He looks at his brother's eyes who smile sadly at him.
"Every day, I keep looking at that grave. Wondering when are we going to reunited again." Zeref said as he leads Natsu inside.
" Glad to be reunited with you Nii-san. Though I hope next time, no curse will be included. Please continue your story Nii-san" Natsu said looking at their home.
" Oh right. After the Dragon King Festival. People start to live normal lives. Though they are still wary of Acnalogia since he's been wreaking havoc whenever he goes. I heard that he's been searching for every dragon in the continent and slaying them." Zeref explained to his brother.
"He is a dragon slayer that has hatred towards dragons and dragon slayers. Fighting him almost kill me. He and Irene became a dragon. Is there a way to turn them back into humans once again?" Natsu asks his brother.
" There is magic to turn them to their former self but it will not be the same. I'm still searching for it that's why I've been searching for every kind of magic" Zeref answer his brother.
" Thank you Nii-san" Natsu said letting out a sigh of relief.
" Irene is part of our family. Though I still can't find her, we need to be careful since Acnalogia may be roaming around." Zeref warned his brother.
" When Acnalogia and I fought. It ended with a draw. He transformed into a dragon but he never finish me off, it's likely he wants to face me once again fair and square. It's been 159 years and I'm afraid that he has gotten stronger the last time we face each other. " Natsu said narrowing his eyes. Now that he thinks of it. 159 years is a lot of time for Acnalogia to get stronger than their last battle. Natsu grit his teeth at the realization. Next time they fight, he might be killed. And the fact that ethernano here today is not potent so replenishing his magic will be difficult.
" You are right with your analysis brother. Acnalogia became stronger than before. That's why we would be looking for a way to defeat him." Zeref said.
" Wait... Do you have any news about Igneel?" Natsu asks his brother. The last time he saw Igneel is after the Great War where he said he will relax in his sanctuary.
" I'm sorry brother but I haven't seen him. I also didn't hear the news about him" Zeref said shaking his head.
" Oh okay. I will try to look for his sanctuary. I still remember where he always stays" Natsu said.
" Be careful out there brother. Now that your strength is still not recharged."
" I will. Don't worry about me. I will just look and ask something to him." Natsu said looking around the room and found his sword.
" Oh... How did you retrieve my sword?" Natsu asks taking his favorite sword. He has many swords but this one is his favorite.
" After the fall of Dragonof. It appears in front of your preserved body. I think the weapon came back to its rightful owner so I took it home and clean it for you" Zeref said.
" I am not surprised. This sword never left my side. It is made from my blood and my spiritual energy." Natsu grins unsheathing his sword and it still looks the same.
" It's great to have you back." Natsu said to his sword returning it to his sheath.
" I must be going, Brother. I know we never had enough reunion but we both have important things to do. Am I right?" Natsu grin at his brother who nods.
" Hai. Be careful Natsu. And we should meet here when you finish your business with Igneel." Zeref said.
" Sure. Be careful too Zeref-nii"

Natsu huff as he looks around the forest. One of the places that Igneel stay after the Dragon War. He looks around trying to find his mentor when he found a large cave below the mountain. Natsu sniff around and somehow, he knew this scent.
" Igneel" Natsu stated approaching the cave. Once Natsu steps a foot on the cave, he heard a rumble and roar around the cave.
" Who dares to enter my territory?!" A deep and booming voice can be heard in the cave.
" Igneel. Fire Dragon King... It's me, Natsu Dragneel" Natsu said loudly. Natsu heard a silence then the ground starts to shake.
" Lies! The Natsu I know is dead! How dare you human to use my disciple's name!?" Igneel roared towards where Natsu is standing. Natsu look confused about why Igneel didn't recognize him but seeing he is wearing a cloak means his face is concealed.
' Or he must be in denial since I'm supposed to be dead for 159 years'. Natsu thought letting the fire surround him. Natsu took a deep breath and starting eating the fire around him until it's all gone.
" Y-You... You ate my fire... Only one person can only do that... And this scent...It is you? Natsu" Igneel asks appearing in front of him. Natsu removes his hood and grins at his mentor and father figure.
" It's me Igneel... It's been a long time, tou-san... How have you been?"
" It is you... And you still look the same as the last time I saw you... But it's all spread around the continent that you died along with your wife... How did you survive?" Natsu can see the shocked look of Igneel.
" It's a long story... But first... I heard from Zeref that Acnalogia's been hunting dragons and dragon slayers around the world... I am glad that you've managed to hide from him." Natsu smile sadly knowing how strong Acnalogia is. Now, that 159 years past. He didn't know how strong Acnalogia is now.
" Escape is the correct term... Five of us dragons manage to escape from him but he manages to leave permanent damage in our soul." Igneel told his disciple who look in shock.
" How bad it is?" Natsu asked. Natsu knows that dragons live many years and the way to destroy them is by destroying their soul and that what dragon slaying is about. Slaying dragons by not only destroying their body but also their soul.
" We only have more years to live... Right now, dragons are on the brink of extinction and Acnalogia became more powerful." Igneel explained to Natsu who is in deep thought.
" Do you have any plan?"
" Right now... No, we don't have." Igneel then looks at him. " Before that, I want to discuss something with you."
" What is it?"
" It's about your dragon seed." Natsu eyes narrowed looking at Igneel.
" What about my dragon seed? Is there something wrong with it?" Natsu asks.
" Yes... We found something important regarding the dragon seed. I should gather the remaining dragons and discuss it with you." Igneel said.
" Very well... Meet me at my home in Mildian. Zeref and I will meet you there. I also want to ask you about something important that is connected to a dragon seed." Natsu said.
" I also have a lot of questions regarding you. Like how are you still alive and still the same when I last saw you?" Natsu smile and puts his hood on and turns around.
" I will discuss it as soon as we meet again in Mildian... It's good to see you again. Otou-san"
" It's good to see you again... Natsu"

" I'm ho- Oh... We have a guest" Natsu said looking at the blonde woman wearing a cloak. In front of him is the blonde woman and Zeref talking to each other while drinking tea.
" You must be Natsu Dragneel that Zeref talking about," Anna said offering her hand to Natsu.
" Yeah. And you are?" Natsu asks looking at her and his brother.
" I'm Anna Heartifilia... I'm a Celestial Spirit mage" Natsu looks at his brother in confusion.
" Nice to meet you, Anna... Not to be rude but what are you doing here?" Natsu asks since no human village is near the area.
" I met Anna while I'm collecting herbs... I heard from her that Acnalogia destroyed another town again where a dragon is hiding from civilization... Acnalogia becomes more powerful the more he killed dragons. That's when we decide to collaborate on a plan." Zeref explained to his brother.
" A plan for what?" Natsu asks looking at his brother with wide eyes. Having a slight idea but wonder how will they ever do it. Zeref and Anna look at each other and nod, then they look at Natsu and said together.
" A plan to defeat Acnalogia"
