The Blanket Incident

INTRODUCTION by CHARLIE BROWN

Never in a million years did I think things would come to this. For years she's always tried to break him of the habit and he resisted, going into convulsions and withdrawal symptoms, but that was par for the course with him. But I never thought things would go this far, this bad, and this tragic! Now I'm going somewhere where I never thought I would, or ever wanted to go: a cemetery.

I pay a visit to the gravesite and lay my flowers down at the stone. As I read the epitaph, which I've seen every visit I paid here, I sighed deep and sadly. Why couldn't she had just left well-enough alone? Why couldn't she just let him ween himself off, rather than take "desperate actions"? This was just another in a long line of examples of her needing to have things her way, and look what happened! If she even resembled anything rational, none of this would have happened. I remember it like it was yesterday…
