A/N: Well, it's been a while. A very long while. Sorry to all my followers who have been waiting for me to write things and I just haven't over the years. My muses have woken back up and gave me some idea to write down so I did. Now, I know this doesn't exactly match up with what happens in the show but it was fun. Hope you enjoy!
This takes place during the first couple episodes of Shippuden when Naruto and Sakura are doing the bell training for the second time.
The test had been going on for a while now and it was well into the night. He was still perched on the branch and she was leaning against the tree just underneath. Shizune is standing next to her teacher watching intently. Tsunade nudges her, "Shizune, can you run back and get their next assignment off my desk?" She forgot the scroll back in her office in her hurry to make it over to the training grounds in time.
"Of course, My Lady, I'll be back soon. You're gonna have to catch me up on what happens when I come back. I'll try and be back before it's over but this is Naruto and Sakura I'm talking about. It will probably be over before we know it." Shizune heads off back towards the village leaving the two old friends by themselves.
They watch as their students went up against their old Sensei. The two students weren't getting anywhere but they were showing that they did learn something over the last two and a half years.
"Seems like you've taught her more than just medical ninjutsu. You've raised a Tsunade junior," the older man says, making more of an observation than a question.
"Did you expect me not to teach her what I know? She does have perfect chakra control. She's the perfect type to learn how to harness her strength. Shizune never learned how to fight like this. Sakura on the other hand...well, she's a natural," she boasts. Tsunade is very taken with Sakura. She see's a lot of herself in the young girl.
"Besides, you're one to talk," she continues. "I guarantee you've taught Naruto much more than just basic chakra control and timing with his shadow clones."
Jiraiya pouts, slumping back against the tree. "Well yeah, but I taught him useful things too. We did have a reason for going, ya know." He glances down at her and notices that she's pulled her robe tighter around her body and her arms are crossed snugly across her chest. He takes a moment to ogle her while she's focused on watching her student. His angle is perfect, well it would be if her robe wasn't pulled so tight. It's in his leering that he notices the slight tremble to her form. "Ya know, it's much warmer up here?" the slight inflection of his voices catches her attention.
She looks up at him and notices the suggestive smirk on his face as he looks down at her. "I'm fine."
"Okay, but if you get cold don't try and say I didn't try and help you."
A couple moments of silence pass by as the masters watch their student get a head of Kakashi, but only for a moment. The slight shake of the branch startles him, but he's not at all surprised to see Tsunade sitting on the branch with him. She's a bit far from him but if he stretched out his leg he would be able to touch her if he wanted. He smirks and turns his glance back to the match.
"What?"
"I didn't say anything, Princess." he answers wearing his trade mark smirk, using his nickname for her since childhood.
"You didn't have to. I know what you're thinking. It's written all over your face."
He takes a deep breath and leans back against the tree. Not responding because he wasn't thinking about anything like she thought. Seeing her at the training grounds reminded him of their youth. It reminded him of how much he missed her while being away. They've gotten closer ever since he brought her back to the village. They were close as teens but not like they are now. Sure, there was the time before she left the village where he thought something would happen but things are different now.
She's still shivering from the chill in the air, and she can feel Jiraiya's warm gaze watching her. "You can stop staring. It's creepy. Besides, it's not gonna get you anywhere."
"I was thinking, it's just going to keep getting colder, and you know what they say, sharing body heat is the best way to stay warm." He jokes, patting his chest, changing his position on the branch, creating a space for her to sit between his legs.
"Ha, only in your dreams, Idiot." she laughs playfully.
"That maybe true, but it wouldn't be good for the people to see their Hokage out of commission because she was too stubborn to stay warm," he fakes being hurt by her reaction to his invitation. He never actually expected her to take it. It's the playful banter that he's missed most. No one gets him quite like she does. She's always understood that he would never cross that line without her consent. He'll push the boundaries, but he wont cross them. "Oh come on, you're shaking like a leaf in the wind, just get over here. I promise to be a gentleman."
She skeptically looks his way. "Do you mean your standard of gentleman or the standard of every one else? You and I both know they're two very different things," her voice trembles slightly from the chill that ran up her spine. She's cold, there's no reason in trying to deny it. He holds both hands up in surrender and closes his eyes, all the while keeping the smirk on his face. "Fine, but don't get any smart ideas, Jiraiya. It's just cause I'm cold and I hate being sick. Shizune makes me drink tea all day and she won't let me have my sake."
She scoots over and sits in the spot he left for her. She leans her back against his chest and he wraps one arm around her lightly, keeping her close and the other falls on the side of her leg. He could feel the coldness of her skin through the thin fabric she always wears. "Holy shit, Tsunade, you're freezing!" he says, pulling her closer into him.
"Oh, shut up will you, or I'm going back down and I'll suffer with being sick."
She feels the rumble from his chuckle in her back. "Alright, alright, I'll just enjoy this"
He can feel her body temperature rise the longer she sits against him. He takes a moment and slides his hand under her robe and around her waist, holding her tighter. His one hand has been gently rubbing soothing patterns against the outside of her thigh. He's wondering how long she'll let him touch her like this until she hits him or yells at him to stop. But then again she is always different when it's just the two of them. He can feel she is relaxed and comfortable in his arms and it brings a warmth to his heart. She leans her head back against his shoulder and releases a deep sigh. He takes the opportunity and leans his face into the crook of her neck, taking in her scent and the warm soft contact of skin against skin. He's missed her.
It's silent, but it's a comfortable silence. One that only happens with the two of them. His hand on her thigh is applying firmer strokes and his lips ghosting across her skin is driving her crazy. She's always knows how he's felt about her. She would be lying if she said she didn't feel anything for him either. But she's never allowed him to be this loving with her. He's tender rather than salacious. It's a change she could get used to. His lips ghost up her neck and caress the shell of her ear. He's moved her hair out of the way so he has full access to her skin. He lets out a breath against her cheek. "I've missed this... I've missed you," he whispers, holding her even closer than she thought possible, running his face back down to rest in the crook of her neck.
She takes a moment to respond. Enjoying the soft moment between them. She reaches a hand up to caress the side of his face, tangling her fingers through the hairs that hang down. She gently places the other on top of the one that's around her waist. "Oh come on, you didn't miss me. You were off looking at woman your whole trip while Naruto trained," she is trying to make light of the conversation sensing how serious it is about the become.
He picks his head up and pretended to be hurt by her words. "I don't just look. It's research. Besides, I wasn't expecting you to miss me. You have Sakura here to bother you. She was quite annoying back in the day," he laughs remember the shrilly voice and the constant crying.
"True, but she did grow up into a fine shinobi. But I did miss you, Sakura's not as warm as you on a cold night." She knew this would get a rise out him. She knows how to deal with his normal advances. The ones filled with lecherous gestures and crude words. This soft, romantic, gentle side he's showing in unfamiliar territory.
"Tsunade," he growls, nuzzling his face back into her neck. His grip on her waist tightens and the hand on her thigh glides inward gripping to move her further into his lap. "You shouldn't say things like that." He places feathery kisses up her neck, nibbling on her ear. She squirms in his arms, laughing as her skin prickles at the sensations. His lips are warm against her skin but just as her skin ignites its cooled by the air brushing her skin as he moves up her neck. The friction of her moving against him has made her robe fall off one shoulder allowing him more room to apply tender nibbles across her skin. Her breath picks up and she can't help but arch her back pressing closer to him . He holds her still as he nips his way back up her neck and along her jaw. His teeth chastely scraping against skin,"Don't start something you're not prepared to finish," he warns, he voice falling deeper and his hand makes it's way upwards on her thigh. He can feel her entire body reacting to his touch and it's making all rational thought disappear. He can't seem to help himself when he's around her. He's always been drawn to her and when she makes comments like that, especially when he knows it's just to get a rise out of him, it makes him want to take her somewhere private and ravish her.
"Mm, watch that hand, Jiraiya" she moans, closing her eyes and leaning further back into him. She can't help it. Hes good at this. He knows where to place a fleeting touch and where to apply just the right amount of pressure. She's not sure how he knows, she thinks maybe just based on experience. He is known throughout the land for his skills. But sometimes she thinks that maybe it's because it's him and her and that's how it's supposed to be.
"Which one?" he asks, his hand sliding up her side to graze the underside of her breast. He takes a slightly harder nip in the soft skin where her neck meets her shoulder, noticing her slight gasp at the roughness of it.
"Both," she grabs the hand on her thigh and moves it back to the front of her leg, while elbowing him in his ribs to warn him not to go any further.
He lightens his touches and stills his lips, "You can't just tease an man like that and not expect a reaction," he says placing a kiss behind her ear. "You know I can't resist. So next time you decide to bait me, you better be ready to be ravished. Cause the next time I get you in such a predicament, I wont be so gentle." He places a firmer grip on her ribs and leg, letting her know just how serious he is. He takes a couple calming breaths as he lightens his grip.
She relaxes into him grabbing his hands, pulling them into her lap and pulling off the straps to his hand guards. She gently starts tracing her finger tips across the newly exposed skin . His hands are rough from years of battle. Scared and calloused, but warm. She can't help but think about what they would feel like moving against her, only this time without the barrier of clothing. She quickly shakes the thought away and goes back to watching her pupil. "What happened to being a gentleman?"
"That went out the window the second you mentioned you with another woman," he brushes his lips against her jaw line.
"I never said I was with another woman." she argues sitting forward to be able to look at him.
"That's not what I heard." He sits back just staring, watching her fingers glide in between his own, down his palm and across his forearm and back up to his fingers, only to repeat the same motion as before. He's not sure if she realizes she's doing it at this point, she seems to focused on the woods. S
She's deep in thought. She just keeps thinking about him being back, but that also means he's going to leave...again. He's always leaving, always going out to gather intel on the Akatsuki. She doesn't want him to go. At least, not for a little while. "Do you have to go?"
He almost misses it, she says it so quietly. He's not sure what she means. But he feels her grip tighten for a second before going back to the simple caresses of her nails against skin. "What?"
"You just got back, and I know you have important research and information to collect, but you just..." she trails off not really sure what to say next. She wasn't going to ask him to stay. She knows he has an important job to do. She knows how busy he is. It's not fair of her to ask him to stay just so she can be around him again. The truth is she missed him. She missed there talks, missed him interrupting her day and sneaking her past Shizune to get out of the office for a bit. She missed his presence in the village. It just wasn't the same without him.
A chuckle rumbles deep in his chest. "Well, doesn't that make me feel special. You actually missed me. But I guess I could hang around. Maybe I'll get to know more about what happened while I was gone." he suggests, making a crude remark about her joke earlier.
Before she can answer, they hear Naruto yelling at Kakashi as him and Sakura fly through the air facing their Sensei head on. They watch the end and they see them deceive Kakashi with something as little as an ending to Jiraiya's newest book. How disappointing.
"Well, looks like that's it," he mumbles.
"Yeah"
He doesn't let her go right away and he knows if she wanted to she could get out of his hold no problem, but she doesn't. "Jiraiya..."
"What is it Tsunade?"
"I missed you too," she keeps thinking about how lonely it was without him. It scares her to think how attached to him she is. Shes never been like this, but there's just something about him. There always has been.
"Tsunade, you know you're never gonna be alone, right? I know I leave the village a lot but if you ever called me, I'd come running." He has a look in his eyes and she can't quite place what the feeling is behind them.
She can sense this conversation taking a serious turn, and right now she doesn't want serious. She wants the best friend that hits on her whenever he can. She wants the one that was just igniting every inch of her skin with simple but bold touches. "I know, but who knows, maybe one of the these days, if you actually do decide to stick around..." she sits up from his hold and stands to stretch. "I might let you finish what we started." she smirks. She can sense Shizune coming so she jumps down from the tree to make her way to congratulate Naruto and Sakura.
"The little vixen, she doesn't know what she started," he grumbles to himself as he following after her down the tree.
A/N: Well, there it is. I'm sorry if it didn't make sense. I'm also sorry for the mistakes. I haven't written in a while and I'm pretty rusty. I hope you enjoyed.
