Nightmares were an inevitable part of someone life if you had a past like Natasha Romanoff. As a child she was brainwashed into assassinating people. At night these haunting figures would come back to stalk her every sleeping hour.

They were at the Avengers compound. It was the safest place to be at the moment to avoid the press. So everyone in the original and New Avengers was there along with the Barton family and Pepper as they were family.
The day had been spent entertaining the kids and watching Disney movies with the whole gang. Snow White was played over and over again as it was a classic that all the fossils remembered from before their ice. It was a joyous day for all at least everyone put up a happy front.
The clock had just run one thirty in the morning when suddenly a blood curdling scream was heard. Suddenly a robotic voice followed which Steve immediately recognised as JARVIS said
'Code Dream Red and Code Black'.
Steve immediately jumped out of bed and began legging it towards Natasha's room. Code Dream Red meant thatNat was having a really bad nightmare and Code Black meant that there was a suicide attempt. He got to the door of her room where he was immediately met by Clint and Bucky. Not hesitating he override the privacy protocol and threw open the door.
The three men through themselves in and immediately looked around. Steve spotted Natasha in a nightmare trance pointing a gun to her head.
'Nat it's ok we're here'.
'I'm sorry Clint, Wanda, Bucky, Steve, Peter, Lila, Cooper, Nathaniel, Laura, Stark, Pepper, Bruce, Rhodey, Sam, Vision. I didn't stop. I killed you Im so sorry.' Natasha screamed out in between sobs.
They had a split second to react. Clint raced over and grabbed the gun out of Nat's hand and threw it across to Bucky who crushed it with his metal arm.
Steve ran over to her and proceeded to try and wake her up. She continued screaming and sobbing. She just would not wake up.
'Tasha, come on time to wake up. It's Clint here. I'm not dead, no one is at all.'
Still Natasha hadnt heard him. This continued on for ten minutes, the spy screaming while Steve and Clint took it in turns to whisper comforting words to her with no avail.
Suddenly another figure appeared in the doorway and the men looked round. There was the one and only Peggy Carter in her pyjamas looking straight back at them. Suddenly she focused in on Nat when she let out another scream.
'Seriously soldiers have you lost your training. Quick get her to the shower and turn the cold water on full blast'. The men all immediately jumped to action. Bucky and Steve went to pick Nat up while Clint went ahead to the bathroom.
'Guys we have a situation in here'
Peggy walked over to where Clint was standing and looked into the bathroom.
'Oh shit' was all that she said.
Inside the bathroom there were razor blades on scattered across the floor while blood stains covered most of the white surfaces.
Now with Nat in their arms. Steve and Bucky reappeared and perked into the bathroom. Steve looked in and stopped still. However Bucky continued on ploughing through to the shower in the corner with Nat in his arms.
He turned the shower on full blast with ice cold water streaming out. Quickly he shoved Nat under it and then she thrust awake.
Bucky stared into her eyes for a second.
'You ok little spider'
'Always soldat'
She leaned into hug Bucky and it was then that he realised something.
'You're right spider Ive lost my touch. I should have known this was going to happen. I'm an idiot'. He proceeded to swear in Russian.
'Soldat you have done nothing of the sort. I should have told them earlier on.'
Clint came out of his shell shock and walked over to Nat. He crouched down before her and gave her a long hard stare before grabbing her tightly.
'I'm the one to blame here. I should have realised. Im so sorry.'
Steve came out of shock again and stared at the scene before him.
'Em I have a question'
The three looked up to him.
'What exactly are we apologising for?'
Nat looked up at Clint and they gad one of there eye conversations. She took a deep breath and began to speak.
'Well Im sure everyone here is aware of my past. If not from me then from my file. When I was with them I learned lots of languages. To make sure we weren't caught in missions we had to learn to speak without an accent. We watched Snow White to learn how to speak. We were chained to out beds with handcuffs and forced to watch the movie over-and over again.'
She looked to Bucky for reassurance and he nodded. She stood up and pushed past Steve and Peggy who were still standing there gobsmacked.
Clint and Bucky slowly walked back to the pair in the doorway.
'I vote we make this a mini Avengers sleepover. Here in Nats room. It also means we can keep an eye on her'
And that is how Pepper found the five of them in the morning. Peggy was the most surprising and still there she was in the morning lying there with the rest of them.
