When Yuki arrives at the location, it turns out the haunted house was actually a haunted mansion. There is a giant metal gate that's blocking the path and it's locked with chains and there's a sign that says 'STAY OUT'
"Alright, time to see what's here." Yuki says as he climbs over the metal gate. The sun hasn't fully set yet and it's almost 6 PM. As Yuki progresses towards the mansion, he had a feeling that someone or something was watching him. Yuki looks around hesitantly "Alright, whoever's here, show yourself!" Yuki says, although there was no response as silence fills the area. With Yuki's instincts having proved him wrong, he continues to go toward the mansion. As he approached the front doors, they were able to open with ease, as they were unlocked.
When Yuki enters the house, the first thing he noticed was that it was 8 PM and it was dark outside. There is a giant rug, stairs leading upstairs, and 4 doors. There are expensive-looking paintings on the wall. If Yuki were to give an estimate, this place has not been used in 10 or more years. Being careful with the supposed haunted house, Yuki checks upstairs.
Yuki could easily identify the bathroom and the master bedroom. The bathroom has a sign on it that says bathroom. The master bedroom door looks fancier than the other doors and all of the doors are shut. Yuki then checks the master bedroom When he enters the master bedroom, it's a large room with all sorts of furniture with the king-sized bed being the main focus of this room. There are more paintings on the wall however he notices that there are claw marks all over the wall and the window curtains.
"Claw marks? Alright, who's here!" Yuki asks again, almost raising his voice. Once again, only silence fills the room. Yuki notices there's a giant bulge on the bed. Something seems to be underneath the blankets. When Yuki checks under the blankets, there was a dead woman's body underneath the blankets with a pale face that looked terrified. The woman still had clothes although it looked like she suffered from asphyxiation or suffocated.
Before Yuki could have time to process the situation, the dead corpse suddenly grabbed his left wrist and started making gasping noises, mouth wide open. Yuki then moves his hand away from the corpse "What the hell?" The dead corpse then stood up from the bed and chased after Yuki, who was already out of the master bedroom, with the door closed. When Yuki decided to inspect his wrist, he saw that he had a handprint on it. Silence fills the area again. Yuki then decides to enter another room, hoping it would be safer.
When Yuki enters the room, he notices it's a child's bedroom. Toys are scattered around the floor. There are shelves to the left and right of the room filled with dolls, which Yuki feels like they're staring at him and of course, there was a small bed.
"Guess the people that owned this house was a family." Yuki closes the door and checks another room. This room just seems to be a small room with a bookshelf, holy crosses hung up, and a small desk with a dim light. "There has to be something here." Yuki says as he investigates the table, finding what appears to be notes on a demon and how to perform an exorcism. The notes also identify the demon's name to be Grapha. It came from the Dark World, a world that is the opposite of ours in terms of morality. It seems to be a powerful demon with the ability to come back from the dead.
"Dark World. Haven't I faced that deck before? And Grapha. If they mentioned a card like him that means it isn't good."
The rest of the notes gives instructions on how to perform an exorcism. "I guess they were thinking of killing Grapha but got killed?" Yuki says. He receives a text from an unknown sender with an unknown phone number. It's a picture of a little girl with a distorted face. When he looks at a mirror in the picture, it doesn't show the girl's reflection but that of a dragon demon. The text message says "YOU'RE MINE". Yuki then hears a door open from downstairs.
"Who's there?" Yuki says as he goes to check downstairs, but not before taking the notes. When he got there, he saw a man in a suit and glasses. He looked to be in his late 30s. He looked at Yuki
"Oh. Someone's here. You shouldn't be in here." The man said.
"And what about you? Why are you here?" Yuki said, returning the statement back to him.
"To make sure kids like you don't come to places like these. Now come on, let's take you home." He said, restating his point.
"I'm not a little kid! And you should leave, like now." Yuki says, clearly knowing the dangers of this mansion.
While they were conversing with each other, Yesir had followed Yuki here and did the same steps to into the mansion, climbing and all. When he finished that, he started walking towards the front doors.
"I'll leave when you leave." He said, motioning Yuki to come towards the front door.
"I can take care of myself." Yuki says, grunting in disbelief that they are even having this discussion. Unbeknownst to them, Yesir entered through the front doors while both were unmoving from their positions or requests. The man sighed when Yesir entered "Great, another kid. Don't you two know that-" The front door then suddenly slams shut behind Yesir, with Yesir making a reactionary jump in surprise. "This can't be good." The man says.
The man tries to open the front doors but it wouldn't budge. "And just like that, we're part of a horror movie scenario." He turns to face the other people in the room with him.
"But I see no cameras." Yesir says, looking around him. A faint 'bruh' could be heard echoing down the halls from that statement.
"This could be Grapha's work." Yuki thinks to himself.
"Alright, I guess if we're going to die here, we might as well introduce ourselves. My name is Bad. Bad Karma. You may call me Mr. Karma, I work at Genesis High school as a teacher." Karma says.
"I see, and we're not gonna die. Knowing a duel spirit or something similar to it like Grapha we can be in a little trouble. And the names Yuki. Yuki Komori."
"Oh, so you're the guy everyone was talking about. My name is Yesir Harris." Yesir says in realization.
"A duel spirit, I don't know what kinda movies you've been watching. This is clearly the work of a demon." Karma said, turning to Yesir "Everyone talks about me? I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing." Karma says.
"Duel Spirits are a real thing, only a few people can see them." Yuki says, trying to convince Karma.
"Alright, sure. Anyways, I would love to debate but there's a bigger problem here; we're trapped. Did you have a gameplan for that kid?" Karma says, not buying into Yuki's statements, or opinions as he calls it.
"No, but I did find a few things out here." Yuki says, pulling out the notes he had gotten earlier, giving them to Karma. Karma took the time to read the notes. While he was reading the notes, Yuki and Yesir had a duel between them, which placed Yesir as the winner.
"Well, this kinda makes sense. Hey, do you two kids know about the history behind this place?" Karma asks, raising an eyebrow to their dueling.
"Not me. Only that some student's from a school went missing and when they were found they were in a coma." Yuki answers.
"Whether that is true or not is yet to be seen. We may find out though. Anyways, this place used to be owned by a wealthy family. Legend has it that a demon possessed the family's daughter because a family member made a deal with a demon. They brought a group of priests to dispel the demon but everyone ended up dead. So this place has been locked up and away from the public ever since then." Karma explains.
"If this demon does duel like the both of you, then it might be useful to arm ourselves." Karma then put on his duel disk "Yuki, since you've been here longer than we have, I'll let you lead the charge and decide as a group what we should do. If you have any questions, I'll answer them."
"Alright. My first question is what decks do you guys play?" Yuki asks, with Karma replying Cyberdarks and Yesir replying Impcantation, which Yuki already knew he played based on their duel.
"Looks we have nothing to worry about. Since they mentioned Grapha that means this demons deck is Dark World." Yuki says confidently.
"Or Lair of Darkness." Yesir says, with Yuki slightly nodding in agreement, leaving as one of two options of the decks that the demon could play.
"If I were to take a guess, we have to find the demon, beat him in a duel, and we'll be free." Karma says, with Yuki nodding in agreement "You lead the charge. I wouldn't even know where to start in this place."
"I already checked a few rooms on the second floor but there were some more rooms I haven't checked, so let's check the second floor." Yuki says.
With that said, the group headed upstairs.
