The team got up to the second floor and decided on where to go. Yuki went to the room he had not looked in and Yesir and Karma went to the bathroom.
In Yuki's room, there are books and learning material everywhere, there is also claw marks everywhere. In the bathroom, Yesir and Karma find a bathtub with bloodstains in it and a broken mirror.
Yuki shouts so Karma and Yesir can hear him "You two find anything?"
"I found blood and some dust." Yesir yells back.
"Well, I found some books and some claw marks." Yuki shouts, returning the favor.
All of a sudden, the door to Yuki's room shuts by itself. When Yuki turns around to look, there is a butler looking man with no eyes in his eye sockets. He has a dark-themed duel disk and it activates, Yuki's duel disk also automatically activates on its own.
"Who are you? Or do I have to duel you to get the answer?" Yuki asks. The undead butler doesn't respond. The duel disks seem to have forced a duel. The answer here is clear to Yuki, it's either duel or be dueled.
"Everything good over there?" Yesir shouts, however, the call falls on deaf ears as the door to Yuki's room is shut tight. After the final attack in Yuki's duel, he was sent flying across the room, knocking him out. When he opened his eyes again, he appeared in the second-floor hallway. There were three markers on the back of his left hand. After a second, there were only two markers left.
Yesir and Karma ran out of the bathroom to aid Yuki "Yuki, what happened?!" Karma asked in a somewhat urgent manner.
"Where is that butler?" Yuki asks, still dazed from the final attack made by said butler.
"Butler? There was someone in the room you were in?" Karma asked, now realizing that there was more than just the demon they had to deal with.
"Yeah, and the deck he used was Dark World." Yuki said, now recovering from the recent duel.
"Let's go check him out then." Karma said, heading towards the room Yuki was so forcefully sent out of and opened the door with Yesir and Yuki following his lead. The undead butler was standing there in the same position, looking at the group with his duel disk on. "Alright, who wants to duel him?" Karma said, giving initiative to the other people who were clearly more active than he was.
"I'm up for it!" Yesir says, readying his duel disk as this was his first duel against someone else besides Yuki. The duel between them was close but Yesir ended up being the winner.
The butler fell to his knees. A voice speaks out to everyone's heads "Each time you defeat an opponent, you have freed them from the darkness and you are only allowed 1 question before they truly pass away. However, each time you lose, you lose a third of your soul. Lose three times and you will be under Grapha's control." The voice said.
"How many people do we have to free in the future?" Yesir asks, being the first to ask a question to be hopefully answered truthfully.
"There are maybe 29 others. If you defeat the demon, you set us all free." The butler said, departing into the afterlife shortly after answering the question given to him.
"Well, look what I got myself into." Yesir says, knowing he has a lot more work to do, more than expected.
"What now Yuki?" Karma asks, now knowing they've more than likely checked all of the second floor.
"I'm just a little concerned about that losing 3 times thing." Yuki says, now realizing that he lost a third of his soul and will possibly never get it back. When Yuki checks to see if he's the only one who has the marks on his hand, he sees that both Karma and Yesir have 3 markers on their hands while Yuki only has 2.
Karma looks at the map of the second floor "Yuki, is there any other room we should investigate?"
"No, I checked the other 3 before you two came here." Yuki said.
"And what did you discover?" Karma asks, wanting to know more than just the notes he was given.
"Well, the notes and a picture from a text that said 'You're Mine' on a mirror in one of the rooms." Yuki said, choosing not to mention the flashes of a failed exorcism in his head.
Karma looked at the picture from the text "Hmm... that picture looks like it's in a different room. It must be somewhere downstairs." Karma said, since all the rooms were supposedly checked by them on this floor. He decided to head downstairs, wanting to leave this place as fast as possible, with Yuki and Yesir following him.
"Alright, what's the plan here?" Karma said, now with the group being downstairs, there were obviously more rooms to check. They agreed that Yesir would take the room to the group's left while Yuki would the room on the right, with Karma staying in case anything happened. Yesir entered a garden in the backyard while Yuki entered the kitchen.
While Yesir was walking around the garden, his duel disk activates on his own. When he looks up, there is a gardener with no eyes and a duel disk. "What the? Who are you!?" Yuki demanded, but no response came. Soon, the area around them was covered in plants, mostly vines, making escape almost impossible for Yesir.
"Well, there's only one way to take you down, Lets duel!" Yesir said, not needing to activate his duel disk since it was already activated. The duel between Yesir and the gardener was an unexpected one, putting Yesir as the loser despite the gardener playing the same deck. This loss sent Yesir flying into the vines, cutting him up and losing a marker on his hand, but due to the impact, there was a chance to escape. Refusing to escape even after a loss, Yesir stands up and activates his duel disk.
"What's up with you guys and Dark World? One more time." Yesir says "Unless you're scared." Yesir said with a smirk.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Yuki noticed spoiled food was all over the place. And like all the other rooms he visited, there were more claw marks. Being sick and tired of the claws marks that were in every room he enters, goes to leave the room, but was blocked by a chef, who was like the rest, no eyes and a duel disk. "Fine, fine." Yuki said, activating his duel disk.
The outcome came out to be Yuki and Yesir winning their own respective duels. Both the gardener and the chef fell to their knees, and like the butler before them, they were allowed to have one question answered. Yuki asks the chef the markers meant on his hand, he was given the same answer as butler did when he was defeated. Yesir asks if there was any way to gain a marker, with the gardener responding that there was not. Both the gardener and the chef ascended into the afterlife.
The plants move out of Yesir's way, and heads back inside the house and Yuki exits the room, now that a chef isn't blocking his way.
"What did you two find out?" Karma asks, with both Yesir and Yuki replying with unsatisfactory information. "There are two rooms left. Who goes where?" Karma asks, with Yesir opting to stay, due to his injuries on the thorns, Yuki going to the room on his left, which left Karma to go to the room on his right.
When Yuki enters his room, he notices that this is the living room. The furniture is filled with scratch marks and there's a giant cross. He recognizes this is the room in the picture. He gets flashes of scenes in his mind, an exorcism happened here. A failed exorcism. "My head, what the hell?" Yuki says, but as soon as he blinks, a little girl in black hair appears in the room with him. Demonic yellow eyes and floating in mid-air, with a duel disk.
"This is just giving me more questions than answers." Yuki said, activating his duel disk.
"You who have entered my realm, prepare to become truly mine." The girl said.
"What do you mean?" Yuki said, thinking that there was more to this than he realized.
"Everything here belongs to me, both men and objects. An outsider like you will become mine as soon as the conditions fulfill, your soul is mine." The demon girl said, pointing to his hand with the markers.
"Sorry, but I already have someone to get back to." Yuki said, holding up his necklace that's around his neck.
The duel started and ended in Yuki's victory. The girl fell to her knees and her eyes returned to normal however her skin is still pale. Unlike last time, it seems that Yuki can ask the spirit two questions. His first has where the demon was located, which the answer was in the basement. The second was if she needed anything, and she wanted nothing more than for Grapha to be defeated, they even made a pinky promise to make sure it happens. Yuki then returns to Yesir and possibly Karma.
"Alright, I have obtained a piece of information." Karma said, returning from his room "What did you find out Yuki?" Karma said, seeing Yuki having already returned from his room.
"That Grapha is located in the basement." Yuki said, now wondering where the basement is, with Karma revealing that it was under the rug they were standing on. Karma then lifted the carpet to reveal a door underneath it, when he opened that, there were stairs leading to the basement.
"Alright, who wants to walk in first?" Karma asks, not wanting to go first although he wouldn't mind if he did.
"I will." Yuki said confidently, he made a pinky promise and he sure wasn't going to break it. With that said, they started making their way towards the basement.
"Does anyone have a flashlight?" Karma said while the group was going down the stairs. It was dark and had a very musty and old feel, dust being practically breathed in.
Yesir pulls out his phone, saying that he had a flashlight app they could use to light the stairs up.
"That'll work. Can I borrow it since I'm in front?" Yuki said, with Yesir nodding, giving the phone to Yuki. As the group progressed in this long staircase, they hear some Latin chanting. "This can't be good" Yuki says.
There was a sudden turn to the left after reaching the end of the staircase. There was a giant room filled with candles and hooded men chanting and bowing down to giant dragon demon sitting on a throne.
"What the hell? Is this some kind of cult?" Yuki thought to himself.
"What's the gameplan kid?" Karma whispered into Yuki's, he was clearly out of ideas on dealing with the demon other than dueling it, with Yuki responding just as he imagined. "Alright. Yuki, you go in first and I'll let you and Yesir do the talking." Karma said, laying down the plan, with Yuki nodding in agreement.
"I guess I'll start things." Yesir said, clearing his throat "Hello my name is Yesir Harris, and I am here with Yuki and Karma, and I think it is time for us to take you guys down. But I don't want to get rid of you guys that quick. I want to know what's your goals, and the reason why you are doing this. So shall we start?"
Grapha raises his eyebrow and stood from his throne. The hooded men gather around and surround the group "I am the Dark Dragonlord of the Dark World, Grapha. I command several armies and have dreamt of the day I take over this world. You three would look nice in my army." Grapha said.
Yuki looks at Grapha "Alright, might as well get to the point. I challenge you to a duel." Yuki said, wanting to finish his promise.
"Very well! Prepare to offer your souls to me!" Grapha said, summoning a shadow duel disk that floated near his arm.
"Not gonna happen. I made a promise and I'm not gonna break it." Yuki said, activating his duel disk.
The battle between Grapha and Yuki was a tense bout, seeing as Grapha had a completely different deck than all the other people they've dueled before, but in the end, Yuki was placed as the winner. Upon Grapha's defeat, the whole house shook as if there was an earthquake. A portal opened out of nowhere and started vacuuming in hooded demons. Grapha attempted to grab hold onto something but resistance was futile. Grapha and everything demonic that came with him returned to the dark world.
"So it's over?" Yuki said, feeling relieved that it was finally over.
"I don't know but lets get out of here!?" Yesir said, as the house as still falling apart and it wouldn't be wise to stand and do nothing.
The little girl from before appeared next to Yuki. She started to ascend to what one can assume to be heaven. She waves goodbye to the group and can only mouth out the words "Thank you."
Yuki smiles "Alright let's go." Yuki said, heading out of the basement, with Yesir and Karma following suit. The markers disappeared from the party's hands. The group climbed the stairs and the front door was unlocked and wide open. When the group exited, it was 5 AM by the sun's position, which was currently rising.
"That was a thing, also I gotta head out so that I can get as much sleep as I can in what little time we have until school starts."
"See ya." Yuki said. And with that said the group left the haunted house and split off their own ways.
