'Now that that is out of the way. Why are you here Ivan' she bitterly threw at him.
'I need you and the Soldât to complete some missions for me.'
'No way in hell in that happening.' Steve bit out. He wasn't going to let the redhead he loved and his best friend go back to their worst nightmare. He hadn't been told about really went on there but with the severeness of both their nightmares he wasn't going to let it happen on his watch. And yes he had just admitted to himself that he loved Natasha. He had changed since that moment in the ice and he realised that he had moved on from Peggy and had fallen in love with another redhead, a superspy.
'Well I would want you to reconsider. I have agents surrounding the building and unless you want your family to die.' Ivan threatened. He knew this was the only way to get to the spy as she didn't particularly prioritise her own life.
'I'll do it.' Natasha gasped out. She wasn't going to let her past touch her family. She couldn't and wouldn't put them through what she had to 'You let all the women leave along with the younger ones'. Wanda and Pepper tried to protest but weren't able to say anything before Natasha snapped at them. 'You have no idea what they will do to you. I dont want to be the reason for this.' Slowly pondering for a second she turned to James and they had a silent conversation with only their eyes. Turning to Ivan she amended her request. 'I want everyone except the original Avengers out of this building and only then will I negotiate.'
'As you wish my dear.'
Everyone began to scream and shout as agents escorted them away from the scene before them. It was heart wrenching and heartbreaking but Natasha knew that it was for the best. Once they were out of sight the bastard began to talk.
'Very simple really. You come and do a couple jobs for me and I wont hurt your friends and family.' She considered this request and was immediately for it. She knew it was a suicide mission and she wasn't coming back but she had to protect those she loved.
Natasha turned towards James. She spoke one sentence. 'It's a suicide mission Soldat, you ready to throw life away again.'
'Just like the old days Natalia.'
'Till Russia kills us both' Natasha and Bucky spoke in unison Russian accents coming out. It was a pact between them. Ever since those days back in the Room and KGB. Whether is was said as they fought for the motherland or in vain as they condemned the country
They turned back to face Ivan. 'We're in. Now may we say our goodbyes.' They walked over to their family and stood a way out from them. It was quiet until Natasha spoke up.
'We're not coming back. Alive at least
'Tasha.'
'I'm sorry it had to end this way but I can't risk you guys. Tell Laura and the kids that I love them till the end of time. Remember to tell little traitor about everyone's favourite aunt'
'Thank you Tasha. For everything. I'm gonna miss you so much.'
'I am too birdbrain. Now go live your life and dont let our protection be wasted.'
Tony was the next to speak up. 'Red and Metal Arm. However much you were annoying. I am going to miss you. Little Red thanks for all the good times and saving my life a couple times. Barnes, I forgive you for killing my Mother. Protecting Pepper and Morgan is more than I could ever repay you. Little Red you will forever be part of my family. Pepper and Morgan will always love you and me well I'll forgive you for that whole assistant incident.'
