Merak arrived at the cafe, his parents are working and taking care of customers. He recognizes one of the customers is his homeroom teacher and dueling club teacher, Mr. Karma. "Hey mom, I'm home." Merak said, entering the cafe.

"Hey, hun. You got homework to do tonight?" His mother said, happy to see her son had arrived safely.

"Yeah, but do you need any help?" Merak said, knowing at this time she would most certainly need his help.

"I mean, we do since it's dinner time. But remember, school comes first. Once you're done with your homework, you can help us, okay?" His mother said, leaving Merak to his own devices while she continued her work. Merak went upstairs into his room and started doing his homework.

While he was doing his homework, his mother came into his room to give him his dinner while he was doing your homework. It took Merak almost 2 hours to finish his homework. It is now 7 AM and the customers have died down. His parents seem to be relaxing and Mr. Karma is still in the shop, eating, drinking, and reading something from his tablet.

"Finally!" Merak goes downstairs ''Mom, I finished need any help?'' Merak asked, now more than likely to get a response, even if it's not to help the customers.

"We're fine now. Please relax, have fun." His mother said, not wanting her son to be all work and no fun.

"Ah, Mr. Teseo, I did not realize your family owned this place, I love going here during my downtime. Did you already do your homework?" Karma asked Merak.

"Yup, just finished." Merak said, having only recently finishing it.

"Good. Now then, today afterschool is the duel club meeting, don't forget it. Speaking of that, would you fancy a duel right now?" Karma asked.

''Yeah, I won't forget! And yeah sure, let's duel Mr. Karma!'' Merak said, pulling out and activating his duel disk, with Karma doing the same, and they both dueled. In the end, Karma won, making it clear that there was a big difference between the student and the teacher.

"Learn from this defeat and grow from it." Karma said, deactivating his duel disk, with Merak's automatically deactivated due to a loss.

"Aww man, how am I supposed to defeat a monster with 6700 ATK without using Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon?" Merak said, not even getting out his ace during the duel.

"That's a lesson for you to learn and figure out. Anyways I gotta head out, see you at school." Karma said, leaving the cafe.

''Hmmm.'' Merak used the replay function in his duel disk to look at the duel again, for an hour he kept rewatching to see his mistakes ''Oh, oh! If I hadn't summoned Ragged Gloves in attack position I could've gotten Xyz Dragon on the field next turn, maybe.'' Merak said in an enlightening moment. While studying the replay, Yuki enters the cafe and takes a seat, ordering coffee.

"Was there anything else you wanted with your coffee, sir?" Merak's mother asked, with Yuki replying that he wanted nothing else with it. Yuki left and Merak's mother wished him a nice morning.

Later, at 8 AM

School is in session and Merak is sitting in his Duel Rulings class with Mr. Karma being his teacher. Merak has a pen and a notebook on his table to take notes.

"So you see, if you use Stand-Off on a monster that was summoned by Relay Soul, you'll start a lock." Karma said, but after that, The bell rings. Class is dismissed and most of the kids leave. "Merak, are you going stay after school for Dueling Club, or do you have to go home?" Karma asked.

"Gimme a sec, Mr. Karma, I'll ask my mom." Merak said, texting his mom with his phone and she responds that they needed no help at the moment, meaning that Merak was able to stay, which he does. More students come in for Dueling Club and it starts shortly after the last student came. There were 2 girls, 3 boys, and Karma in the room.

Merak wanted to duel the other students, and so he went to a male student within the club and asked him for a duel, to which he accepted. The outcome clearly was in Merak's favor and ended with him winning, the male student extended out his hand for a handshake, proclaiming it was a good game, with Merak accepting the handshake. Merak gets a text from his mom saying to come home after the club to discuss about Yuki. "Bye, Mr. Karma." Merak said, leaving the classroom to back to the cafe

"Take care. I'll see you later." Karma said.

At the cafe, 9 AM

Yuki comes downstairs to the cafe and yawns "I should really stop sleeping so late." Yuki said

"You're fine. Please relax for a bit." Merak's mother said.

"Oh, thanks." Yuki said, leaving the cafe to go walk around the city, more specifically this district, the Azure one, and Central City. Merak entered the cafe shortly after Yuki left.

"Hey, Merak. How was school?" His mother said, hoping that it was a good day, at least compared to hers.

"Good. So mom, what did you want to talk about?" Merak asked, as it must have been important.

"I'm glad you're making friends but please don't make a habit of bringing homeless strangers to our cafe. We're barely making it by with just us." His mother said, even despite being in the Azure District, since that's the only reason they keep going at all, they don't get a lot of customers compared to other cafes.

"Don't worry this won't be a habit." Merak said, hopefully making sure that he and by extension, his mother, don't bite more than they can chew.

"Alright, oh, by the way, one of the customers says he knows you?" She said, pointing to a hooded man sitting at a table, with Merak saying that he doesn't. "Really? maybe I should call the cops or something." She said, with the hooded man motions Merak to come closer, to which Merak replies with the request.

"We know that you were part of a game last night. You have questions, we have answers." The hooded man stated.

"Okay, and?" Merak said, not believing what the man had to say.

"Come follow me, and I'll provide you answers to your questions." He said, trying to be convincing.

"No, I don't trust you." Merak said, applying whatever lessons he learned from common sense and Stranger Danger.

"Alright. If you say so." He said, getting up and leaving the cafe. Merak then stayed at the cafe, helping his family with the customers.

"Oh right, Merak, you came home pretty late. Where were you last night?" Merak's mother said, with Merak replying that it was a long story, with him explaining everything to her "Wait really? We gotta go contact the police!" She said, contacting the police to file a report. While that was happening, Merak was looking on the internet and found that there was a Knightmare card located at a nearby prison, but Merak gets distracted by watching cat videos.

At night, before Merak goes to bed and sleeps until sunrise, he starts to remember last night, and what had transpired there.
