CHAPTER ONE
Bye-bye vacation
"Do you ever have the feeling of deja vu?"
"Like... the feeling of seeing or feeling something you've seen of felt before?"
"Is there another way to describe that?"
Tails gave Sonic a sideways look.
"No..."
"Uh yeah we have!" Knuckles interrupted
"If you look it up in a dictionary you'll see a picture of Egg man."
Sonic snorted a laugh.
"Why do you ask though?" Tails asked.
"It's just... I dunno. I feel like I've lived this day before."
"Going on vacation?"
"No... I feel like the trip to the hotel is the reason I feel like this."
"Weird because I'm pretty sure we've never gone here." Amy piped up. Sonic rolled his shoulders in discomfort. The bus pulled up to the group. They quietly boarded. Every row has four seats with a space between each two. This meant they would have to pair up. The pairs ended up being, Tails and Sonic, Amy and Macy, Rouge and Knuckles, Silver and blaze, and Shadow and Sarah.
"Hey where's Tommy?" Tails asked Sarah
"He said hotels made him sick."
"Okay then..." Tails said as he sat in the window seat.
Sonic settled down next to him. Suddenly the bus lurched forwards causing the seat belt less passengers to either wack their faces into the seats in front of them, fall out of their seats, or just straight up not move. Sonic got lucky and didn't move but Tails got to hit his face into the seat in front of him. "Ouch!" Tails cried as he jumped back and covered his nose.
"What's wrong?" Asked Sonic
Tails lifted his hand from his nose and looked down at his index finger.
"Bloody nose." He sniffled before giving a smile.
The bus was now about to go over a giant bridge. Sonic heard construction outside. And what sounded like an orchestra of car horns. Then he saw the bridge was over water. Suddenly he tensed up in his seat, closed his eyes, and clenched his teeth. Tails saw him do this and was about to ask what was wrong but he looked out the window and figured out what was wrong.
"Hey... don't worry about it. It'll be fine." Tails sounded naisily and had blood stains around the top half of his mouth. Sonic gave a half nod. They were on the bridge now. Sonic had lost feeling in his hands and feet in fear. What the group didn't know was that the construction wasn't supposed to happen for another two hours as the strain of traffic on the bridge would be dangerous when cutting concrete. However, due to the construction worker thinking he could do anything. This is why cracks suddenly started to spread across to the middle of the bridge.
"What's that?!" Asked Macy.
Everyone (Except for Sonic) got up to look out the left side windows.
"The bridge is cracking!"
Sonic opened his eyes. Just as he did that the entire bridge wobbled up and down. Screams filled the air from both the bus and the many drivers on the bridge. Some suspension wires snapped that sounded like elastic. Again, the bridge wobbled this time causing the bus to start to fall. A hole opened in front of it and the bus started to fall forwards. Sonic, getting his bearings back, stood up.
"Come on! We have to get out of here!" He grabbed Tails by the hand. The entire group jumped out of the emergency exit in the back of the bus. Every one except for Sarah who was still in the bus when it suddenly lurched forwards causing her to fall backwards and out the front window. She splashed into the water below.
"Sarah!" Tails cried as he looked down the hold.
Sarah waved up to them. But then the bus finally fell down the hole. Right onto Sarah.
"NO!"
"Tails come on!" Sonic dragged him away.
The bridge started to wobble and twist. A truck with metal rods came swerving towards the group. It hit another car causing the rods to fly off the top. Most of them missed the group. But a few just happened to impale Silver and Blaze. They stumbled around before collapsing at the same time.
The seven started to run towards the closest street. Then a tar truck tipped over and spilled it's blistering hot insides onto Shadow. He screamed out in pain before falling backwards over the railing into the water below.
Rouge was leading the pack as she was on the final part of the bridge before it was on solid ground. But this part suddenly crumbled. Rouge fell with it onto a boat that was desperately trying to get away from the debris. The top of the sail rod speared her.
"Oh jeez!" Amy cried.
"Look!" Sonic pointed to the broken railing and two metal beams. "We can jump from that beam to the other one!"
"Who's gonna go first?" Asked Knuckles
Before anyone could answer the only part of the bridge that was attached to a support beam crumbled. Now the part of the bridge that the final five were on was only being held up by the suspend wires. This caused the bridge to swing and for Macy to fall off. She crashed right into the cliff right under them.
One of the chains from the work on top of the bridge started to hang down behind the four.
"Okay, Amy you first."
Sonic grabbed her hand and helped her onto one of the beams.
"When it swings over close enough to the next one, jump to it!" Sonic yelled.
When it swung closer she jumped to it. However, the second beam wasn't stable so it collapsed. But Amy grabbed onto the road.
"Keep holding on!" Sonic cried.
At this moment a suspension wire snapped in the back of the swinging bridge giving it a lot of momentum. This momentum caused two things. One, it clashed with the road in front of it. And it clashed into Amy. Second, the chain that was mentioned earlier swung forwards and wrapped around Tails's neck. He started to make noises like he was trying to breath and trying to throw up all at once. Now the road cracked around the three. Knuckles and Sonic got off the unstable part but Tails couldn't. He was desperately trying to untangle his neck from the chain.
"Tails! No!"
The road below the fox fell. So did Tails. But he fell for a very short amount of time before the chain suddenly straightened out.
"Oh god..." Sonic moaned.
"Look out!" Knuckles cried.
He pointed up to the top of the bridge. The top was falling apart and raining debris. Both boys started to run away from the raining dangers. Sonic had no problems zipping in between the debris. But Knuckles wasn't so fast. A big piece of metal fell on top of him. It was a bloody explosion.
Sonic was on the other side of the suspended swing. He was going to jump to the other side. He lept through the air before grabbing on to the edge. But now he was left dangling. He quickly looked down. Water, a boat with some one impaled on it, a hanging figure, and the sinking bus. How had things gone to crap so fast? Suddenly, the rest of the wires on the other side snapped. Sonic watched as the swing fell into the water below. Then a car exploded some where on the bridge. A tire when flying through the air. It flew right into Sonic's face. And he blew up in blood.
"Ouch!" Tails cried as he jumped back and covered his nose. "What?" Sonic twisted around in his seat. Everyone was alive and fine. Sonic then looked out Tails's window. The bus was about to go onto a suspension bridge. There was construction on the bridge concrete and the top of the bridge. It was just a vision. But Sonic didn't feel safe any more. "Stop! Stop the bus!"
"Sonic? Are you okay?"
"No! Stop! I wanna get off!"
The bus came to a stop.
"Come on! We all need to get off!"
"What?"
"Sonic what's going on!?"
"What about our stuff?!"
"Leave it!" Sonic said, "We need to get off now!"
In confusion everyone listened to him. Sonic led them away from the bridge.
"Are you sure your just not okay with being over water?" asked Tails.
"No! I just had a vision where we all died!"
"What?!"
"Yeah. We all died in different ways! It was on that bridge!"
"Oh jeez. Your just crazy! Look, we'll wait for the next bus, go to our hotel, and never listen to Sonic again." Said Knuckles.
"No! Wa-"
Suddenly screams filled the air as the bridge started to wobble and shake.
"What's going on?!" Cried Amy.
The entire group watched in horror as the entire bridge crumbled. Sonic compared this to his vision. The swinging bridge, the boat underneath the bridge, the chain, the debris, the swing clashing into the cliff, the explosion with the tire. It was all there.
"This is what happened in my vision..." Sonic said.
Everyone looked at him.
"How did we...die?" Asked Tails.
CHAPTER TWO
375 dead and an explosion and a fan
"Just today the world famous suspension bridge fell apart. 375 Mobbians lost their lives."
The five sat on Sonic's couch as they watched the T.V. The other five had gone home.
Sonic turned around to face the twins. Tails had his knees against his chest and looked like he was about to throw up.
"Hey are you okay?" I asked.
Tails looked at me "Y-Yeah."
Then he got up and went to the the kitchen and put his head in Sonic's trash can.
"Hey, Sonic? I have to ask you a question."
"Yeah Macy?"
"How did you know that was going to happen?"
Sonic gave a deep breath.
"I don't know. I had a vision. A vision of all of us dying in specific orders."
"What do you mean by that?" Tails asked weakly as he wasn't quite done puking.
"It wasn't like we all just blew up. We all died brutally and with enough time to see it all. All of the gore."
"Hey... I know no one wants to ask this but..." Knuckles asked, "how did we die?
Sonic was worried some one was going to ask this. He closed his eyes to try to remember.
"Well, Sarah fell into the water and the bus we were on fell on top of her. Then Silver and Blaze got impaled by metal rods. Shadow got drenched in hot tar. Rouge got speared on a boats sail rod. Macy fell off the bridge into the cliff. Amy got crushed between both sides of the bridge."
Amy shuttered.
"A chain...err...broke something of Tails... Knuckles was crushed by debris and I...I got hit by an airborne tire."
"You died?" Asked Macy.
"Sort of. I snapped out of it before I officially died."
"So we're good now." Said Knuckles, "Right? I mean, we didn't all die like you described."
Sonic was about to reply when something happened. He saw a vision of a cracked mug, a computer with glass shards blowing up out of it, a window fan, and Sarah's silhouette grabbing her throat.
Sonic suddenly snapped back to reality and slumped forwards.
"Sonic are you okay?!" Asked Amy.
He looked around. Tails had come back to the couch and everyone was staring at him.
"Uh...yeah. Yeah I'm fine it's just..." Sonic trailed off.
"Did you, by any chance, have another vision?" Asked Tails.
Sonic nodded.
"About us?" Asked Knuckles, standing up.
"No... I think it was about Sarah."
"Sarah?"
"Yeah..."
"Wait hold on! The last time you had one of these visions it came true! What happened in this vision?" Asked Tails.
"I-I dunno. It was vague. But I think a window fan was the main thing."
"A window fan?! If this comes true too then we need to save her!" Amy cried.
"I'm sure it's nothing." Said Knuckles.
"It doesn't hurt to check! Let's go!"
The five ran out the door to Sarah's.
Sarah sat on her couch watching the news about the bridge collapse. The hundreds of body bags looked like snow. Sarah covered her mouth. What if Sonic hadn't said anything? She shifted in her seat before deciding to turn off the T.V. "It's nothing..." she said aloud trying to calm her mind. Maybe some hot tea will calm me down...Sarah walked to the kitchen and put the kettle on the stove. Then she poured it into her mug. She was about to put a tea bag in when she decided to drink some cold soda instead. She poured in the soda. However, the sudden change of temperature caused the mug to crack, leaking slightly. Sarah took the mug over to her desk and put her mug on her laptop. She turned on the computer. But the liquid of the mug leaked into the key board. Suddenly, the screen blew up. A shard of glass flew at Sarah. She hunched over in her seat, grabbing her throat as blood sept between her fingers. Frantically, she got up in search for help. "Tommy!" She gurgled. She stumbled over to his door. Tommy had is headphones on, listening to loud music. So he couldn't hear her. Sarah tried to open his door but her blood soaked hands kept slipping off the knob. She then started to make her way to the front door. She would have to make her way outside. But as she ran past her loud window fan her hair caught in it. She was yanked back. Her scalp was pulled on enough for her forehead to bleed a bit. She gurgled in panic, trying to escape. Her vision was getting cloudy. Her thoughts blurred. Finally, she fell limp. The fan let go of her hair, letting her fall to the floor.
"Sarah?!" Tails cried as he ran inside the house. But once he saw the scene he stopped in his tracks.
"Oh god..."
The rest of the gang ran in. Amy screamed and Sonic went to help Tails, who was hugging Sarah's dead body. "What happened?" Asked Knuckles
Then, Tommy came out of his room. Once he saw Sarah he screamed, then ran into his room. Sonic could faintly hear him talking to some one. Perzumally to someone on a phone.
"W-what the heck happened?" Asked Amy.
Sonic looked around. He made note of the broken computer screen, the fan with Sarah's hair in it, and her cracked mug.
"These...are the things that were in the vision I had."
"What?" Tails asked as he looked at his bloodied hands.
"I-I had a vision with Sarah and these things..."
"Coincidence." Said Knuckles.
Sonic looked at him, offended.
"Our friend is dead..." Tails whispered.
Police sirens were blaring in the distance.
"We should go." Sonic said.
CHAPTER THREE
The domino effect theory
The five sat quietly at their cafe table. Shaken by last night, none of them wanted to talk. Sonic just stared into his coffee. Finally, Tails broke the silence.
"I have a theory..." He said softly.
Without asking questions, the other four looked up, ready to listen.
"Remember how Sonic gave us very vivid and detailed descriptions on how we "died" on that bridge?"
They nodded.
"Well then it collapsed. Now I wouldn't piece this together until the next day but the descriptions he gave us seemed like they were present on the bridge as it collapsed. Like the chain for me, the boat for Rouge, the bus for... Sarah. It was all there. Then the next day Sarah died. But it wasn't like she keeled over and died or anything that would hurt Tommy. My reasoning is that because Tommy was never supposed to die. Sarah was and she was first. What if... we escaped death. But death is coming back for us..."
"In the same order that we were supposed to die." Sonic finished.
Tails nodded.
"If your theory is right then... who's the next person?" Asked Amy.
Sonic thought for a moment.
"People."
"What?"
"The next two who died, died at the same time. Silver and Blaze."
"We'll call them." Macy said.
"Hello?" Silver asked.
He and Blaze were in their car on their way to Woodbury's lake.
"Where are you guys?!" Asked Sonic.
"In the car."
It sounded like Sonic gasped. Some other people were with him, talking in the background.
"Look, you guys have to get out of the car at to some where safe!"
"Why? What's going on?"
"It's kinda hard to explain."
"I've seen things in the future that are hard to even think about. I doubt it's that hard."
"Err... okay. I had a vision of the bridge collapsing. We died in specific orders. But we escaped in real life. Now death is coming back for us. It got Sarah. Now you guys are next!"
Sonic wanted to scream into the phone. But then some thing happened.
A motorcycle went speeding down the intersection. Then the giant sign over the cafe swung down due to it's bolts coming loose. It decapitated the motorcyclist, causing the vehicle to turn and go flying down the street. Suddenly, Silver's car went speeding down the street, hitting the breaks to not hit the motorcycle.
"Sonic? Are you there?" Sonic looked down at the phone.
"SILVER GET OFF THE ROAD!" His scream caused the other four to jump.
"What?"
"YOUR GONNA CRASH!"
"Uh..."
Suddenly, the sign started to creak above them. The motorcyclist came speeding down.
"NO! GET OFF THE ROAD!"
Silver saw the motorcycle start to cross the intersection. Then the sign came swinging in.
"NO!" Sonic screamed from the phone. Blood went everywhere at the motorcyclist got decapitated. "Sliver! STOP!" Blaze cried. Silver slammed on the breaks. Their seat belts snapped. Silver's jaw slammed into the wheel with a sickening crack. Blaze was ejected out, taking a piece of the broken wind shield with her. They both tumbled out.
The five stood up and ran to the wreckage.
"No..." Sonic said.
Blaze had a big piece of glass in her chest. Her body shuddered up and down as she tried to breath. Silver was bleeding out due to his broken jaw, gurgling while breathing. They both held hands for the last time before falling limp.
Amy covered her mouth while the twins started to cry.
"I was too late." Sonic said.
"W-we need to save the next people on the list." Tails sniffled.
"Who is it?"
"Shadow." Sonic said.
CHAPTER FOUR
MINCED MEAT
"Look, maybe if we save Shadow we can destroy death's list."
"That could be easier said then done! A cafe sigh fell to kill the last people on death's list. A cafe sign!"
"Then we'll take him, lock him up, and make sure nothing happens to him."
"And get arrested along the way for kidnapping!"
"What happens if saving him just skips over him? What if we'll just continue to die?" Tails asked.
"Where could he even be? It's almost sunset."
Sonic was about to answer when he suddenly froze in his tracks. A whirring boat motor, a bridge over Woodbury's river, and Stow away stretch.
"Sonic are you okay?!"
Sonic stared at the four.
"You had another vision didn't you?"
"Yeah... But it gave me the answer I need! Stow away stretch!"
"What?"
"Shadow is at Stow away stretch!"
The five slowed at the bridge. None of them really wanted to step foot on it after the event they had escaped. But they could see a figure on the bridge. Finally, Tails stepped on. The rest followed soon after.
"Shadow!"
"W-. Why are you here?"
"You're gonna die!"
Shadow gave a small nose laugh.
"I think I'm fine. I just escaped death two days ago. I don't think the ultimate life form will just die."
Shadow walked past them and off the bridge. He went down to the side of the river, then sat down.
"Shadow you don't understand! We died if specific order in my vision. Now Sarah, Silver, and Blaze are all dead! You're next and something is going to happen with a boat engine!" Sonic said as he ran down to Shadow.
Tails was the only one who didn't ran down. He looked around, uneasy. Was he having the same feeling that Sonic had? Was he going to have a vision? He saw a truck in the distance with oxygen tanks on it. And on the ground in front of him was a shadow that looked like some one was speared through the head by something. A hedgehog? He thought.
Sighing, he kicked an L shaped stick onto the road. It landed with a point up.
"Shadow please! I don't want you die."
"Sonic I'm fine!"
Sonic saw a boat going away from them with it's engine on and loud.
The truck came speeding down the street. It drove over the stick, puncturing the tire. It started to tumble. Tails let out a cry as he dove away. One of the oxygen tanks tumbled down the hill. It's cap broke off, causing it to fly through the air. I caught Shadow in the chest. It pushed him through the air then into the river. Right in front of the boat engine. Crimson blood suddenly sprayed out of the engine as it made grinding noises.
The five watched in horror.
"I'm so sorry..." Tails whispered.
CHAPTER FIVE
WRECKING BALL
Sonic sat on his couch alone in his house. He was on his phone with Amy.
"I don't want to go any where."
"Maybe the twins will want to."
"They can't. They're at work."
"They have a job?"
"I guess."
"Shouldn't we worry about the next person on the list?"
"Does it matter? The odds are stacked against us. I might as well lock my self in a padded room and live off of cat food."
"Cat food? There's other soft foods to eat."
"That's not the point! I don't care who's next."
"That's a horrible way to think."
"Do I care? No."
"What happened to my Sonic? The one who laughed in the face of danger?"
"That was before death was after me!"
"Why can't you get past that? You said you were last!"
"So- hold on. Tails is calling me."
"Hey Tails."
"Hi Sonic. Look, I need to say something."
"Aren't you at work?"
"I'm on break. Now listen! I think I saw a sign yesterday. I saw a shadow that looked like a hedgehog impaled through the head. I'm worried it's you or Amy."
"Hmm..."
"Just, be safe when saving the next person. Please?"
"But I'm not-... okay."
"Thank you."
"Okay I have to call Amy back."
"Okay good bye."
"See ya."
"Hi again."
"Will you get in touch with Knuckles?"
"Why?"
"We have to save Rouge."
"..."
"Please."
"Okay I'll get back to you in five."
"See you then."
"K bye."
Sonic walked up to the mall. He had been texted to come here. As he walked in he immediately saw Amy.
"Hey! Why'd you tell me to come here?"
"Hi Sonic. It's because Knuckles and Rouge are here."
"Wher-"
The construction sight, a water bottle, a wrecking ball.
"Oh no."
"What?"
"We need to find Rouge NOW!"
"Okay okay! Come on!"
She grabbed Sonic by the hand. They walked through the mall looking for the bat.
Finally, they saw her. She was talking to Knuckles at a table.
"Guys!"
"Oh! Hey Sonic." Said Rouge.
"We need to go."
"What? Are you okay?"
"Knuckles! Help me!"
Knuckles looked confused before realizing what was going on.
"He's right Rouge. We need to go."
"What is going on?"
"You're gonna die!"
"What?"
What they didn't know was on the other side of the wall was the construction sight. One of the workers went on break. He left the wrecking ball on. Then his water bottle fell onto lever that moved the ball. It started to swing.
Knuckles got up and stood with Sonic and Amy.
"Really? Great. You know what? You can keep doing whatever your doing. I'll keep shopping."
"Rouge please listen." Amy pleaded.
"Shut it fan girl. Just leave me alone." She started to walk away. Just then the wrecking ball swung through the wall. It smashed right into Rouge. Her mangled body slid across the floor. People started to scream.
"It doesn't matter any more! We need to find the next person and put then some where safe! Who is it Sonic?!"
"Macy..."
"Okay we'll go to their work, get her out of there, keep her safe, then our troubles are over. Where do they work?"
"Mike's hardware store..."
"A hardware store?!" Knuckles and Amy cried at the same time.
"That's a terrible place for them to be!"
"Then let's go!"
CHAPTER SIX
DON'T LEAVE HER HANGIN'
"Tails! Macy!" Sonic cried as he ran into the store.
The twins both turned around. They were in the home appliances section.
"Uh... hey."
"Why do you guys look like that?" Asked Tails.
"We uh... had a run in with a wrecking ball."
"Okay bye." Macy said as she walked to the next isle.
"We need to get Macy out of here."
"Sonic why?"
"Because Macy's next!"
"But your list said Rouge is next..."
"Run in with a wrecking ball!" Sonic repeated.
"Oh, god."
"This place isn't safe. We need to go."
"Sonic it's fine. I've taken safety measures. Look." Tails pointed up at a hanging washing machine above them. Sonic jumped back with paranoia of it falling.
"It's held up with heavy duty elastic wires that are nailed into the floor into the isle next to us."
Just as he said this Amy ran back.
"She's not listening."
"It's Macy Prower we're talking about. It's like talking to a rock."
Suddenly, the washer above them shook and bounced down a bit. Then some one was choking.
"MACY!" The four ran around to the other side.
The wire snapped and wrapped around her neck. Since the washer machine was heavier than her she was lifted up.
They were about to run to help her when a bunch of pipes fell of the shelves in front of them, blocking the way.
Macy's eyes became blood shot.
"Stand back!" Tails cried as he threw down two spheres. One blew up, sending the pipes flying and one into the wall behind them with a point towards their backs.
Now that the path clear Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles ran forwards while Amy stood back to watch. Tails flew up to her and used his box cutter to cut Macy free. They both fell to the floor. Tails unwrapped the wire from around her neck. Macy started to breath again. She sat there panting. Sonic was about to help her when he had a vision.
A part of his bridge vision played again. Macy fell into the mountain. But she never died. She just got injured.
"Macy never died." Sonic said as he came back to the present.
"What? Sonic she almost did!"
"No! In my vision she made it. Which means what just happened was a diversion for the next person on the list which is- AMY LOOK OUT!" By now Amy had started to walk forwards. She slipped on the
non-detonated bomb. It blew up sending her flying backwards. There was a splatter.
"Amy?!" Sonic cried.
The dust settled. And Tails's vision came true. Amy had the broken pipe coming through her head.
Macy started to cry.
CHAPTER SEVEN
SPEED LIMIT!
The four sat at the cafe again.
"I'm sorry Sonic."
"It's not your fault."
"I used the bombs."
They sat in silence again.
"Everyone is dead." Said Sonic.
"No." Said Knuckles.
The other three looked at him.
"What?"
"This is just a terrible dream. I'm still on the bus to a relaxing vacation. I'll wake up soon and move on with my life. Amy, Rouge, Silver, Blaze, Shadow, and Sarah are not dead."
"Are you kidding me?"
"What?"
"This is real life! Everyone is dead! We watched it happen! THEY'RE GONE!"
"They are not!" Knuckles cried as he jumped up.
Sonic stood up too.
"Here's proof it's not a dream!" Then he punched Knuckles in the shoulder.
Knuckles jumped back and grabbed his shoulder in pain.
"I HATE YOU!" Then he headbutted Sonic in the stomach.
The two started to fight. Hoping to hurt each other.
"Guys stop!" Macy cried as she jumped up too.
"Tails, help me stop them!"
"No."
This caused Knuckles and Sonic to stop fighting.
"What?"
"No! I'm not putting up with this. If you want to fight then go ahead. I won't stop you. Maybe you'll kill each other and kill the list. DROP DEAD FOR ALL I CARE!" Tails then turned to walk away when a speeding bus drove onto the side walk with a drunk driver. Knuckles, Sonic, and Macy jumped back but Tails didn't. His blood went everywhere as he got splattered.
Macy let out a scream as Sonic stood there in shock. No one expected that.
"You know what? That's it!" Knuckles cried. "I'm calling an Uber home."
"Can I come too?" Asked Macy.
"Sure."
Five minutes later his Uber pulled up. They got in and left leaving Sonic alone. By himself. Covered in his best friends blood. He lost everything.
CHAPTER EIGHT

The two sat in the car quietly.
"Long day?" Asked the driver.
"Long past few days." Said Knuckles.
"Seems like you were at a party. Covered in red paint and all."
"Yeah. It's red paint." Said Macy.
"I've had a long few days too. I haven't slept for a few days now." He said as he yawned.
Sonic was walking home by himself. Pondering his thoughts. But he had a vision.
A car flying off of stow aways bridge, the sunroof closing, and the car sinking.
"Knuckles!" He cried as he started to run in the direction of the bridge.
The driver yawned again.
"You should sleep after this." Said Macy.
"No I'll be fine."
As he said this he collapsed forwards onto the car horn.
Macy screamed again as the car crashed through the bridge. It landed in the mud under the surface.
Water started to pour in through the open windows in the front.
"Through the sunroof! QUICK!" Knuckles screamed. They started to climb through the window when the driver fell on the sunroof button. Both of their heads got stuck outside of the car and Knuckles hands. They were stuck. Suddenly, Sonic came running down the hill.
"Sonic! Help us!" Macy chocked.
Sonic was about to when he saw the water.
"I can't!"
"Please!" Macy cried.
Sonic whimpered. But then he thought for a moment. Their lives mattered more. He was going to free them even if it meant he would drown. He walked back before getting a running start. He landed on the hood of the car. It was low enough that he was up to his knees. Sonic punched the sunroof. It shattered allowing the two to get out. Then Sonic sank to the bottom of the river.
"Sonic!" Macy screamed.
Sonic bolted up gasping for air. Knuckles had saved him.
Macy started to cry again.
"You did it." She said.
Knuckles hugged him.
The three had escaped death.
They survived.
CHAPTER NINE
THE END
The small car pulled up to the view.
"I have to say this is going to be a great vacation." Said Macy as she put on her sunglasses.
"And look! I found this post card at the gas station!" She said as she held it up.
Sonic laughed.
"I think you might be right."
"You guys sound like you have stuff planned." Said Knuckles from the back middle seat.
"Yeah, vegging out for two months."
All three laughed.
"I'm just glad it's all over." Said Macy.
"Me too." Sonic agreed.
But then something happened. Sonic got an all to familiar feeling.
He looked around. In front of them was a half constructed suspension bridge. Macy's post card had a bus similar to the one on the bridge and the one at the cafe. And the construction near them sounded like the construction at the mall with tools branded after Mike's hardware store.
Sonic looked at Macy with wide eyes.
"What's with you?"
"Somethings wrong."
"What?"
At this moment the heat of the engine caused a small fire under the car.
One of the construction workers on the bridge put a metal rod on a metal cutter by accident. It sent the rod flying in the direction of the car.
"Did you have a vision?"
"N-no. It was like- a feeling."
"Then I think we-re f-"
The metal rod flew through the wind shield and through Macy's eye. It also went though Knuckles shoulder, pinning him to the seat.
Sonic saw the fire under the car. He got out seconds before it blew up. It knocked him to the ground. One of Knuckles arms landed next to him as he was unable to escape.
Sonic stood up. They died. He was the only survivor of the bridge collapse. But on the other side of the firey wreckage one of the buzz saws was malfunctioning. It broke and sent the saw flying. Sonic saw it fly out of the flames.
He was unable to dodge it. It went through his chest. Sonic fell onto his back.
As the final bit of life left him he thought one thing.
No one can escape death.
