After the final bell rang, I rushed out of class and headed to my locker. This school was so big, I had to wonder how anyone knew where they were going. I needed to hurry and get home so I could send a message to Reynolds. After wandering around aimlessly for fifteen minutes I finally found my locker. I felt it a real pointless task to take my books home for "school work," most of the things the students were learning I already knew or Reynolds had already taught me, but if I wanted to blend in while finishing my mission, that meant I had to do everything a normal high schooler did, even if that meant fiddling around with algebra and chemistry in the meantime. I quickly grabbed my things and made my way to the back doors.

I did have to admit to myself that despite my current circumstances this lifestyle was refreshing. Being surrounded with so many unique people, all different, full of feeling, it was strangely beautiful. There was no darkness looming over them, no real danger, and they had to worry about so little things, like learning to drive or find a date to a dance. This was the life Varen could have had, the life I should have had. I felt an ache in my heart for a brief moment but shoved it aside and picked up my pace. However, being so lost in thought, I didn't realize someone was walking right into my path.

Suddenly we collided and everything fell out of my hands and onto the floor. I was a little embarrassed. I immediately bent down and began picking up my books. I couldn't believe I wasn't paying attention, this person was probably annoyed, but I should apologize. When I finished picking up my half of the books I looked up and locked eyes with a pair of baby blue ones.

He was tall and had a noticeable toned figure, but at the same time wasn't overly large or muscular. He had short, shaggy auburn hair and slightly tanned skin. He wore a pair of lighter wash jeans, a soft gray hooded sweatshirt, with a black and white flannel on top of it. His look definitely represented this realms style, but the way he stood, and his facial features almost made him look refined and regal, like a handsome prince in a royal court. I realized I had been gawking for almost a minute and quickly spoke up.

"Uh- I'm so sorry for running into you, I was in a rush to get home and it's my first day… but thanks for helping me." I said taking the rest of my books he was holding out for me.

"I heard a new girl was starting today, didn't think I'd meet her this way though. But It's really alright, I just moved to Trenton last year, so I totally understand. I'm sorry too, I had my earbuds in and really wasn't paying any attention either." He said locking eyes with me again.

"Well like I said I'm kind of in a hurry to get home, but thank you again and it was nice to meet you uh?" I said remembering I didn't know his name.

"Alex" He said with a smile.

"Alex, short for Alexander I'd assume?" I asked.

"You'd assume correct, my mother liked old-fashioned names, but I never get called Alexander by anyone here so." He smiled.

"Well I think people should have a good day Alexander." I turned and continued towards the exit doors.

I knew he was still back there, watching me walk away, I turned my head and spoke. "My name is Victoria by the way." I said spinning and walking out the doors.

"Victoria" he said, turning around and walking the opposite direction.
