Chapter 2
2 hours before Danny and Baez approach Jamie.
Eddie and Jamie apartment
Eddie and Jamie woke up when their alarm went off, meaning they had work, Jamie got out of bed before his wife, he went to the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast, whilst her husband is making breakfast for both, Eddie creeps into the bathroom, once she is in the bathroom, she pulls out a pharmacy bag, she takes out the packaging hidden inside and she huffs at the sight of the package, she empties the box and reads the instructions on the leaflet.
Eddie takes the test stick and does what she must do, 3 minutes later her timer rings, she turns the stick over and she is shocked to read the stick that says positive, she shoves the stick in the cabinet draw, and she gets ready for work when she hears her husband calling her name.
Jamie and Eddie eat their breakfast and then they head to work.

29th precinct
Jamie and Eddie arrive at work, once they are in the precinct, Jamie gets changed into his uniform and then he goes to his office where he starts, the day out, whilst Eddie got changed and then she met up with her friend and colleague who she rides with.
Eddie and Witten go out on patrol, whilst on patrol Eddie remains quiet because she is still reeling at the thought of becoming a mother, and she knew she looked sick, but she is determined to work and take her mind off her problems, officer Witten sat in the passenger seat of the car whilst her senior officer sat in the driver's seat, as she looks to her colleague, she is shocked to see that her friend looked sick.
"so, Eddie what's up with you today" asks Witten?
"nothing is up with me" says Eddie.
"well, no offence you look like you need to be at home in bed being waited on hand and foot by your husband" says Witten.
"fine I am fine, but I can't tell people what's wrong because I haven't got a clue what to do and when I do tell I will be off patrol and working a desk" says Eddie.
"wait don't tell me your pregnant" says officer Witten.
"yes, I only took a test this morning and I really don't feel like talking" says Eddie.
"don't worry I will keep my mouth shut, does Jamie know yet" asks Witten?
"no and he won't find out yet" says Eddie.
Eddie and Witten continue driving until a car comes out of know where speeding and cuts them off, Eddie sits in her seat shell shocked but then her cop instincts kick in, she puts her foot on the gas pedal hard, she speeds not before putting her belt on in case they got into a crash, soon Eddie manages to catch up to the perp they flick the lights and siren on meaning they want the guy, but what Eddie doesn't know is that it was a set up and the man in the car is out to kill Eddie or cause serious harm, she manages to pull the police car alongside the flashy car but then out of now where the black car hits the police car on the side.
The black car bashing into the side of the police car caused Eddie to lose control of the car, the force of the impact forced the police car to turn down a one-way street and straight into the path of an oncoming car which was also speeding, the black car stopped at the intersection whilst the police car hit the speeding sports car head on.
Inside the car the force of the crash made Eddie bash her head, neck and shoulder against the steering wheel as well as her chest, but luckily for her she is wearing a vest, so the impact was not so hard and she only bruised her ribs, once the car came to a complete stop Eddie lay against the wheel unconscious for a few minutes, whilst officer Witten sat in her seat holding her head and wondering what happened and why was she dazed.
Officer Witten looks to her friend who is still lay slumped over the wheel crushing the air bag, officer Witten then looks out the back window she sees the car that ran them off the road it was turning down the one-way street the car parks up behind the RMP, the man gets out the car he walks to the driver's side, he opens the door he looks to Eddie's unconscious body then out of nowhere he unclips Eddie's seatbelt, he grabs Eddie around the shoulders and he pulls her from the vehicle, he ignores the screams of agony coming from the injured cop, but he didn't care, he kept going he dragged her to the rear end of his car, he opens the boot and he shoves Eddie into the car and closes the door, he gets in the driver's seat in a hurry and soon he drives off leaving officer Witten shell shocked at seeing her friend being kidnapped whilst injured.
A few minutes after the kidnap, Eddie's phone went off, her phone was in her hat that's where Eddie put it whilst she was in the car, the phone rings and she looks to the place where the noise is coming from she sees the caller ID on the phone, officer Witten is at a loss at what to do should she answer the phone but if she does what does she say to her boss, that she let his wife get kidnapped, she sat in the seat cowering and wondering then she plucked up the courage to answer the phone, what could Jamie do to her now that already makes her feel like a bad person for not trying to help her friend who was being kidnapped, she picks up the phone and answers it.
She spoke to Jamie but all she said was that there was an accident, because as soon as she said there was an accident, she knew Jamie would come down no matter what people told him to do.

Danny, Baez and Jamie arrive.
Jamie pulls up on the street near the crashed police car, he sees the ambulance nearby treating anyone affected by the crash, Danny and Baez pull up a few minutes later. They get out and then they survey the crime scene, they look for Eddie, but they can't find her, Danny and his partner follow Jamie to where officer Witten is being treated.
Jamie approaches the empty crashed car as he gets closer to the ambulance, he goes to officer Witten.
"officer Witten where is my wife" asks Jamie?
Danny and Baez catch up with Jamie, they decide to take over the questioning of the officer.
"okay officer Witten my name is Danny Raegan, and this is my partner detective Baez we would like to know what happened here" asks Danny?
"hey Danny, what the hell I am asking her questions" says Jamie.
"no offence but you are the sergeant, but your wife has also been in an accident, so you can't be impartial so I am taking over asking the questions, you can stay and listen but me and Baez are doing the talking" says Danny.
"fine suppose your right I care about my wife and I love her so you can take over" says Jamie letting Danny ask the questions.
"okay officer could you answers my question please" says Danny.
"okay me and officer Janko Raegan was driving along doing our jobs, when out of nowhere this maniac driving a posh black sedan came out of nowhere and cut us off, he then took over and sped off, Eddie got pissed so she went after him since he could have hit a pedestrian, we sped up got alongside the mad man, we flashed the lights sounded the siren but he was not going quietly instead it riled him up good, then all of a sudden the car slams in to my side of the car, the force of the hit made Eddie swerve off down a one way street" explains Witten.
"okay you say it's a man how can you be sure if the car had tinted windows" asks Baez?
"after we crashed, I was dazed I woke up and found my friend and colleague injured and slumped over the steering wheel, as I sat in my seat trying to get my Barings, I look in the rear-view mirror, the car was at the top of the street at one point then he was parked behind us, then that's when I see the guy, he got out his car, he came to eddies side he opened the door, he sees me awake but as I go to stop him he flashes a gun he had concealed in his trousers, I put my hands up then he unclips Eddie's seatbelt and then he dragged her out the car" answers Witten.
"wait your saying this guy has taken my injured wife who needs medical attention" asks Jamie?
"yeah, sir he did" answers Witten.
"you said you seen the guy who taken officer J Raegan, is this the guy that ran you off the road and kidnapped your colleague" asks Baez?
Baez takes out a recent mugshot of Jake singer she shows the picture to the rookie cop.
"yeah, that is the guy 100%" answers Witten.
"great know what" asks Jamie?
"we circulate his car registration to everyone, and the description and then we wait until he contacts us" says Danny.
"and what is going to happen to Eddie" asks Witten?
"don't know if this guy is what we think he is capable of then he could beat and rape her" explains Danny.
"oh god we need to do something quick before someone loses something" says Witten not realizing what she just said.
"am sorry officer Witten but we can't do anything until we get a ransom demand, or we have evidence that something bad could happen to Eddie, but what are you on about when someone is going to lose something" says Baez.
"officer Witten is there something you know and have not told us" asks Danny?
"okay but no one was supposed to know yet, I only know since I forced her to spill the beans, even sergeant Raegan doesn't know yet" says Witten.
"what is it that I don't know yet" asks Jamie?
"Eddie is pregnant she found out this morning and I found out just before the crash" answers Witten.
