Peter swung through the streets of New York City, smiling beneath the mask that obscured his face from the rest of the world. In his hand he held a list of things he was supposed to bring home to MJ, her cravings were getting worse. Tonight she had called him up 6 times to say that she wanted Peanut butter, anything with peanut butter, Licorice, tacos, BLTs, and caesar salad. He also was subjected to her very lengthy description of what she was making for dinner, Pickle sandwiches, with the pickles as the "bread" with tuna or chicken salad inside, depending on whichever one she wanted first. While the thought made even his trash bin of a stomach groan in despair, MJ had sounded positively ravenous on the phone, and he couldn't help but think about how adorable she was. Peter did a double back flip and landed with a flourish and a bark of laughter on the sidewalk in front of Ted's grocery store, to the surprise and delight of the old ladies and children that were currently coming out of it. They broke into applause and Spiderman couldn't help but bow to his adoring public. "Thank you! Thank you!" He chuckled as he leaned down to give one scruffy ten year old a high five before heading inside to find all the things on his shopping list.

He had come into this same store several times as Peter Parker, but never as Spiderman, in fact today he had decided to change before he came here but somehow he had forgotten, perhaps it was the whole "YOU ARE GOING TO BE A FATHER!" thing, he still hadn't wrapped his mind around it yet. Once again a goofy grin spread across his face and he found himself stopping in the baby aisle, looking at all the pink and blue blankets and baby bottles. Girl or boy? Which one would he like to have? Not that he wouldn't love either one, a boy to play sports with and make model airplanes, or a girl to play horsey with and take to ballet classes, or maybe they would get lucky and have twins! His aunt May had told him that twins ran in their family so it wasn't outside the realm of possibility-

"EVERYONE GET DOWN THIS IS A ROBBERY!"

The bellowing yell came from the front of the store, quickly followed by screams and cries of panic from the shoppers as they all cowered behind the shelves and pleaded for the man in the hoodie to not hurt them. Peter groaned and quickly put his arm basket full of food on the ground to be retrieved later. Couldn't he ever catch a break?

"PUT THE MONEY IN THE BAG OLD MAN! I"M NOT PLAYIN' AROUND HERE!"

The man was tall, skinny, by the sound of his voice he was probably in his early 30s, why he had to pic Ted's grocery of all places on today of all days was beyond Peter. Spiderman leapt up to the ceiling and began crawling towards the robber who was facing the other way and didn't notice the guy in the red spandex jumpsuit coming to kick his butt.

The kid he high fived on the other hand did notice.

"Get him spiderman!"

The cheer was enough to alert the criminal with the gun of the incoming danger and in a flash he had spun around and with uncanny accuracy fired at Peter.

Maybe it was because his head was still full of happy family musings, or maybe it was the sudden irrational worry that the guy would somehow hurt the kid even though the gun was aimed at him, or maybe it was just an off day, but whatever the reason, Peter was hit.

It was just a scratch, nothing life threatening, but man did it hurt! With a yelp Peter fell like a spider with its web cut and rolled behind an old fashioned coca cola machine just as several more gun shots were fired. The shop keeper and the other people all took this opportunity to run out into the street, leaving the angry criminal and Spiderman alone inside.

"Gosh darn it!" Peter hissed, pressing his hand into the torn place in his suit, the bullet had nicked his left shoulder, a burning hot groove that continued to sting and made lifting his arm nearly impossible. If he hadn't had such a quick healing ability he would have been in the hospital right now.

The robber was yelling something, and Peter heard the click of the gun as he re-loaded it. This had to end now, before someone (Other than him) got hurt.

"Well, guess your bark isn't worse than your bite huh? That hurt. Not a very nice way to make a first impression bro." Peter's voice was cocky and mocking, and was answered with several choice swear words and more bullets. None of them hit home though, and a few seconds later, the robber was hanging upside down by a thin thread of web.

Spiderman got up and strolled over to survey his handiwork.

"Just relax here man, cops will be on their way soon so they can get all this stuff off of ya, better be more polite to them though, they don't like guys who shoot people very much, here maybe this will help you seem a bit nicer."

Peter reached over to pick up a straw hat and sunglasses that were laying on the floor, and with some quick web work, they were positioned nicely on the man's head and face. Spiderman laughed at the sight, what was once a big mean criminal now looked like a cute little grandma wrapped in a blanket.

"There, that's better huh? Well, I've got places to be so, see ya in about 20 years!"

Peter went back to pick up his basket of food he had been carrying before and then after getting out enough money for everything and putting it on the counter with a note "From your friendly neighborhood Spiderman!" He stepped outside.

And came face to face with Captain America.
