Author's Note: Here is the next songfic I did for UF Zine, this one is set in the Swap AU, focusing on Sapphire/Blue Diamond's alone time on Earth.
The song is from Frozen. (kind of make sense don't ya think?) and I guess you can already guess which one.
Let it Go.
Alone.
That's what she wanted to be right now. Here in the coldest part of the world, nothing but the sound of the cold wind blowing through her hood.
While standing on the snow, the shadow of a glacier looming over her, she thinks. Thinks about her fellow Diamonds, thinks about her colony, and thinks about…that Ruby solider…
NO! She shook her head, she came here to forget about troubled feelings, obviously that is one of the many reasons why she has her colony in the first place.
And yet the feeling remains.
"Sigh."
Blue Diamond: The snow glows white on the planet tonight. Not a foot print to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation and it looks like I'm its queen.
She holds herself in self-comfort.
Blue Diamond: The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside.
Couldn't keep it in, Stars knows I've tried.
She then recalls what her fellow Diamonds told her time and time again.
Blue Diamond: Don't let them in, don't let them see, be the Diamond you always have to be.
Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show.
She was told time and time again not to show her 'imperfection' but there was no one about, and 'they' are not here. And there is so much to see with her eye, and she will see it.
She lifted the hood slightly, just to let her eye be seen.
Blue Diamond: But now I know!
She made her way over the snow as she lets out her power, causing more and more snow to fly and ice to rise from the ground.
Blue Diamond: Let it go, let it go.
Can't hold it back anymore.
Let it go, let it go!
Turn away and slam the door.
I' don't care, If it's not their way.
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway.
Feeling happiness bubble inside her, she removed her hood and let the wind blow her hair and her eye shined like the northern lights. Seeing all the wonders here, one could ask why they think this is a wasteland.
Blue Diamond: It's funny how some distance, makes everything seem small.
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all.
Now far away from all their eyes, to do the things they say aren't wise.
No right, no wrong, no rules for me.
I'm free!
She raised her arms wide and started spinning merrily as snowflakes fly and surround her in gentle blizzard.
Blue Diamond: Let it go, let it go.
I'm one with the wind and sky.
Let it go, let it go.
You'll never see me cry.
Here I stand and here I say.
Let the storm rage on.
Joy and laughter, she never felt such emotions for some time. Being here on this planet gives her the happiness she always wanted.
Yes, she loves this planet…and perhaps…her.
Blue Diamond: This moment flurries through the air into the ground.
My joy is spiraling in frozen fractals all around.
And this love is so much more then I could ever ask!
She instantly recalled a way her Pearl mentioned that she could interact with the Ruby naturally.
She didn't do it then, but right at this moment she's going to give it a try.
Blue Diamond: I'm never looking back.
The past is in the past!
She looked at her gem and started to glow as she danced in the wind and snow.
Blue Diamond: Let it go, let it go.
And I'll rise like the break of dawn.
Let it go, let it go.
That perfect gem is gone.
Here I stand in the light of day.
Let storm rage on!
The transformation was done and with courage in mind she headed towards the warp pad doing the bravest thing she had ever done.
Sapphire: The cold never bothered me anyway.
She didn't even try or tempted herself to use her fusion vision, for the first time she wanted to jump in unknowing and whatever this may lead.
She knew and hoped it would be worth it.

Author's Note: And now I'll have more people suggest songs from Frozen 2 to be used in future chapters. Oh well. Now the last two songfics I did for the UF Zine are also set in the Swap AU. That AU's kind of grown on me.
