If you thought there wouldn't be a flashback, you don't know me that well! Enjoy!

Flashback, years before Red met the Whitebeard pirates.

Red pov.

The drink burned in my cold throat and made my whole-body tingle. The bar was a ghost town, which is to be expected if you considered the place I'm in. It didn't bother me though. Not even the bartender was behind the bar, which once again, isn't surprising. You know, when I had the brilliant Idea to come to Onigashima, I thought I would meet interesting people. But nope! Instead I find a backwater bar with no one in it! It's as if everyone avoids it for a reason! I guess I shouldn't complain… I am here illegally or whatever. And if someone does see me, it could cause a war. I can already picture the headline 'Red Haired Shanks declares war on the country of Wano!' yeah. I don't need that happening.

I could take the Gifters, Shinuchi, and Tobiroppo sectors, but the All Stars might prove to be a problem. Meh, I could take them if I got a good sleep. Doesn't butt-faced Kaido also have a daughter? I wonder what she is like.

Wooden doors clicked together when a figure pushed through them. Well, I guess I'm caught. I stood in the middle of the bar, wide open for all to see. The person at the door was a woman. Long purple hair dangled over her back. A hair tie tied up the hair, leaving only the black tips to swift freely in the cold winter breeze. The woman was a little less than twice my size and had white and black horns peering from her locks. Her eyes were large and held a sense of curiosity. Her outfit included hakama pants, a sleeveless shirt, and sandals. The thing that caught my immediate attention was the shackles on her wrist.

She is Kaido's daughter, I could tell that from her scent. Why is she wearing those cuffs? They are the same ones the dragons put on me. Interesting.

"Who are you?" The woman asked. Her sandals tapped against the wood of the bar and her hand drew closer to the slender weapon on her back. "If I say a ghost, would you leave me alone?" The growl the woman gave me made me sigh. "A visitor." I blurted.

For some reason, my awful excuse made her lose her grip on her weapon. Well, I guess that is good. "How did you get here? you don't work under my dad." She stated. The ting of amusement and ounce of curiosity in her voice made me grin. "I am not, I hate your father. I'm here for a vacation, looks like I came to the wrong place." My pale finger played with one of the perfected shaped ice cubes in my drink.

Her eyes trailed down my body, probably scanning me for weapons. I wore something else besides my jumpsuit today. A crimson coat engulfed half my back, but my front was still exposed. I wore a black bikini top, knee high black boots, baggy red pants, and my usual chain necklace. I'm aware my fashion choice is questionable.

"No one gets here undetected." She walked closer to me. More curiosity added to her eyes when my body didn't move or flinch from her presence. Even with her dominating aura. "Well then, I guess I'm special." My finger left my ice cube to grip my glass cup. More stinging liquid drizzled down my throat. "This bar is shut down for the winter." She blurted. Why she would tell me that is confusing, but what was weirder is the fact she started to pull out a stool. "Ok then, makes sense. Mind telling me why Kaido's daughter is in shackles?" As always, my bluntness shocked the person I used it on. Maybe it wasn't my bluntness and was the fact I identified her.

"What makes you think I'm his daughter?"

"You avoided the question, must be something complicated." I picked up the liquor bottle taunting me and poured her a glass. After I slid it to her, she caught it and spoke. "You're preceptive. Why am I so attracted to you? As if I should follow you."

A soft chuckle escaped me from her question, "wow, the great Kaido's daughter has a crush on me. I'm flattered, well I would be if you answered a few of my questions."

"And why would I? You are trespassing, my father will have you killed."

Then a war would start… I thought but kept it to myself. Instead, I said something that stunned her. "Why did you say your father and not you?" The woman froze. She must've not noticed it herself. "I'm his daughter I-"

"Is that how you identify? As his daughter? As if the fear people have for him gives you power." She froze again. That isn't what she meant, but the statement did make her think. My lips touched my glass as I watched her ponder on my words. "I do not, I hate my father as well. He put these on me." Her hands raised in front of my crimson eyes. The sight of the familiar restrain made my blood boil. "How distasteful." I spat.

She put down her hands and took another sip from her glass. "You are aware they are real right?" The extra gulp she took answered my question. Her dark eyes shifted towards me and her ferocious aura lessened. "I had a feeling."

"Why are you in them anyways?"

"Because, it is a punishment for defying him. My ideals are the opposite of his, I believe in Oden's ideals." I doubt the woman expected me to react the way I did. I choked on my drink, making the blazing liquid find its way up my nose. The woman laughed at the alcohol pouring out of my nose, and the shocked look plastered on my face. Oden? As is Kozuki Oden?! "You mean the Oden that used to be on my dad's crew?" shit! I shouldn't have said that. Now she is going to ask-

"Who's your dad?"

"That isn't important. Your dad is punishing you for your ideals?" I was happy I changed the topic, but felt bad for making the woman tense up. The curiosity in her eyes was replaced with sorrow and regret. "Why don't you tell him it was a faze and is over." Her eyes changed again, this time with determination.

"No! I want to be like Oden! Lying about that would be ruining my honor!"

I leaned against my hand to cup my cheek. "Having honor won't do anything if you aren't free. Lying won't kill you, if anything, it will help you complete your goals." From the woman's body language, I could tell I stunned her once again. "You don't criticize my beliefs? Even though I am the daughter of an emperor?"

A chuckle escaped my lips. "Your ideals are something you choose, doesn't matter what blood flows in your veins." My stool scraped against the wood as I pushed myself away from the bar. I bounced off my seat and started to head for the front door. "I like you. What is your name? Will I see you again?" I stopped with my hand on the door and a smile printed on my face.

"The name is Red. I'll be staying in Wano, come visit me when you are free. That is when you can fulfill your Ideals."

The woman smiled and nodded, "mine is Yamato, I can't wait to see you again… Red."

A year later, now in Wano.

Third pov

"Come on Red! You want to wake up before Yamato arrives." Red groaned and tried biting the finger jabbing at her cheek, but her plan backfired. The finger dodged and started to pinch and pull at her flesh. "Get up!"

"Stop it Kikunojo!" Red whined. Kikunojo had long blue hair, indigo eyes, and pale skin. Her body resembles a doll, thin and delicate. Yet, she is far from it. The woman used to be a samurai and was a friend of Oden. Her fighting skills haven't dulled, even though it has been a while since she has picked up her sword. Kiku stopped pulling at the redhead's cheek and puffed out her bottom lip. Red rubbed her swelling cheek, "If your brother is anything like you, i don't want to meet him."

Kiku huffed at Red's statement, "my brother is worse than me, you better hope your paths never cross."

"Trust me, I do." She muttered before wincing at the sunlight stabbing her eyes. "I swear, you are like a vampire." Kiku commented. Red ignored the comment and crawled towards the curtains to close them. Once the sunlight vanished from the room, she let out a breath. "Isn't your brother's name Izo or something? He is a Whitebeard pirate, right?" Kiku smiled at the thought of her older brother. She misses him, it's been years since they've seen each other. "Yes. Does that mean you two are enemies? Since your dad is Shanks?"

Red pushed her bangs away from her dark eyes and looked at Kiku. "How many times do I have to tell you. I'm not his daughter." The red head stood up and pulled off the sweaty shirt clinging to her body. Why is it so damn hot here? Kiku cupped her right cheek and frowned. "Why do you still deny that? You look exactly like him, plus your powers, and physical ability. You have to be related." Red tugged off her shorts and grabbed shorter ones. "Don't wear those! You can't show so much skin!" Kiku reprimanded.

"The shorts end at my mid-thigh. It isn't that bad." Kiku knows about Red's branded mark but has never asked about it. Yamato told her what happened five months ago. Even though both of them come from different emperors, they have become very close. Yamato only knows about her past with the celestial dragons and Fisher Tiger. Red has told her stories about her childhood, but those are rare. "Do you have to leave Red?" Kiku asked with a frown. Red has lived with her for a year now yet hasn't been caught. It's a miracle she lasted this long, but Kiku has learned Red makes miracles a lot. The red head placed her crimson coat on, "yep." She said with the pop of the 'p'.

She turned to face Kiku, she held sadness and worry in her eyes. "I'll be ok, and I will see you again." Red stuffed her hand into her pocket and pulled out two things. "Here, my vivre card, and transponder snail. I know you can only use it outside of Wano, but if anything bad happens, call me."

Kiku's lips started to quiver as tears flooded her bright eyes. She jumped on Red and grabbed her into a tight hug, "you better stay alive! I won't forgive you if you die!" The woman cried. Red has done so much for her, she even stole for her. For the past year. Red has helped her gather information and survive the ruthlessness known as Wano. The redhead smiled as her friend cried on her, "I won't, and I'll come back. I don't like saying goodbye. Maybe I'll even meet your brother." Kiku hugged Red tighter from the thought.

After a few more cries and exchanged words, Red turned her back to the tea shop. She trotted her way through Wano. "Leaving?" Red turned around to see a large, pink haired man behind her. His pinkish skin had light purple markings on them, and a purple coat covered his body. "Yep, but I'll be back." The large man nodded.

She continued walking until she got to the forest. When she got into the middle of the forest, a bush shifted behind her. The sound made her smile, "ninjas have to be sneaky… Tama." Red chuckled when she heard the little child groan. A mop of purple hair peaked out, along with bright and wonder filled eyes. "Was it better than last time?" she asked with a hope filled smile. The redhead hunched down to take the child into her arms. "Beside the fact that I could smell you 20 kilometers away, yes." Tama laughed at the answer. Her laugh dimmed when she realized what day it was.

"You're leaving? I want you to stay." Tama choked before sobbing.

"I'll be back." Red assured, giving the child a pat on the head. Tama looks up to Red in many ways, her will, her strength, her smile. Her smile made fear shudder before it. Tama wanted her smile to do the same, that is why she sucked in her tears, along with her lip. She refuses to cry anymore, Red will be back, and when she is, Tama will show her how much she has improved.

After a few more words were exchanged, Red stuffed her hand into her pocket and pulled out a large bag. "Here, I stole a few things on my way here. Keep it."

"Red! How many times do I have to tell you I'll be fine." Tama whined when she saw the amount of money in the bag. Red does this all the time, she would go to the richer parts of Wano, only to steal. Then gives the money to Tama and Kiku.

"And how many times do I have to tell you, I do what I want." Red gave the child her famous grin before walking away.

A rock sunk into the crystal-clear water. Ripples flowed into small waves when another rock splashed into the liquid. "You're late." Yamato huffed. The purple haired woman looked up to see Red hovering over the cliff above her. "Would you expect something else?" Red chirped before jumping off the cliff.

"Never." Yamato smiled. She has been free for the past few months after 'swearing' her loyalty to Kaido. She does not identify as his daughter anymore, not after what he put her through. At first, she felt conflicted, as if she lied to herself and not her father, but Red got rid of that turmoil. 'You do what you have to do to complete your goals.' How can someone so laid back say such things?

Red tugged at the hood of her coat, "are you going to cry as well?"

Yamato snorted, "why would I? You'll be back."

The redhead smiled at her answer. She looked towards the small boat set up on the bay but froze before she could walk in its direction. Hands wrapped around the redhead, and a head crashed onto her back. She blinked a few times, "I'll miss you." The older woman muttered, digging her head further into Red's back.

"I'll miss you too, Yamato." The purple haired woman let go of the redhead. She said one last thing, before letting Red leave.

"What do you think will happen to this country? Its people's spirits aren't like yours, theirs are crushed. All because of Kaido." Yamato tilted her head downward from the thought.

"They will overthrow him; someone will come here and rekindle their spirit. And I know the person who will." Luffy.

Yamato's eyes widened and shot back to the redhead. "What makes you so sure?"

"No one can ever know the top till they get too low." Red grinned.

The purple haired girl rolled her eyes. "Who said that quote." She asked in a sarcastic tone.

The redhead chuckled, "Imagine Dragons! Anyways, they will grow a will. A strong one that blazes like an Inferno. Like yours… Yamato."

Flashback ended

—-

"Fuck no."

Izo raised a brow at her answer, "aren't you guys friends?"

Red nodded, "we are, she might come if Kiku makes her."

The long-haired man's eyes softened at the mention of his sister. "Were you and her close? Kiku I mean." The red head leaned against Marco and smiled. Now that I think about it, her and Izo are a lot alike. It's funny that I ended up meeting him, even though I never wanted to. Kiku was enough of a pain. "Well, I did live with her for a year-"

"A YEAR?! YOU LIVED IN WANO FOR A YEAR! HOW?" Izo shouted. Wano has very tight security, it was a miracle he left undetected. Yet, Red stayed there for a year without being spotted? Maybe if it was Marco who had gone, or Namur, maybe Vista… but RED! "Yep! I'll tell you about it later. Marco, let's fly back to the ship."

Marco didn't question Red, he transformed his wings and legs and waited for her to grab onto him. Izo pondered on what Red told him, "you better, I want an explanation." Red nodded and hopped onto Marco.

Once they were in the air, Red explained why they were going back to the ship. "I can smell more of those robot things coming from behind the ship." Her nose scrunched again. Her face became disgusted and shot out her tongue, "there's also a liar." She muttered.

Marco turned to face her, "Teach, yoi?"

"No. You'll see."

The blonde turned his head back and flapped his wings faster. Did someone betray us? If Red said there is a liar… who could it be? The couple dropped by Pops, as soon as they did, Dagger came up to them. Marco thought the liar could be Dagger, but Red showed no signs of disgust towards him. "Dagger, how are we going to take out all them? They are closing us in. Do you have an idea Pops?"

Pops nodded, "your brother has an idea, a bazar one." Red turned to her grinning brother, but before she could ask, she saw Squard coming to the top deck. Her body stiffened from the sight of the man. "Pops!" He walked closer to the group and gave a fake smile towards his crewmates. Pops turned and grinned at his son, "I was worried about you, Squard." Pops turned his body towards the battle, so did Dagger and Marco.

"I'm glad we got you back Red." Why is he talking to me out of all people?

"Yes, it's great to be back."

Squard gripped his weapon and took out his sword, "are you ready?"

Red nodded and walked closer to Pops. She wanted to tell him the real reason she came here, but before she could, her instincts took over.

A long blade shot through her. Blood flooded into her throat and started to drip out of her mouth. The smell of iron filled her nose and made her wince. Damnit. She thought as she saw the blade stabbing threw her chest.

"Red!"
