Author's Note: Hello everyone! Sorry for not updating this, but real life problems and some not even involving the whole COVID thing. But I'm still here and kicking!
Now this songfic is set in the UF 2 version of the Reverse/Diamond AU.
Now what is happing here, if you read chapter 23 of this songfic, I made Reverse Mabel a witch.
This goes back to when MiniJenn first came up with Stonemason, and I had the idea of Mabel learning magic from an old woman in the woods, but I dropped that idea and decided to try it out on this version of Mabel.
Ok enough of that, this focuses on confrontation between a redeemed Dipper and Witch Mabel.
The song comes from Tangled the Series aka Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure.
Nothing Left to Lose.
Dipper blinked. "Now this is what I call an extreme makeover." What was once there Pavilion of Power; their home/base, now it has become your token-style Evil Castle, but made up of dead wood and thorns.
"Please tell me we weren't that dramatic?" Dipper asked Candy and Grenda, only to recall that he knocked them both out already. After all he was here to talk to his sister and no one else.
Before Dipper could even take a step the front of the thorn castle opened up, like a monster opening its jaws. Dipper thought Mable was going to come out but instead of her, a large black boar the size of a bear came out.
It's tucks where sharp like blades, its tail looked like a mace and its eyes where bright green.
"Hello again Waddles," Dipper said keeping a brave face but recalled how this magically enhanced pig nearly got him and his old foes/new friends killed.
The Monster Boar snarled as droll escaped his jaw as he neared the intruder. "Now Waddles, remember how I always fed you those sweets for you?"
The cursed pig roared and charged at Dipper. He was ready to defend himself but then the Boar's eyes flashed for a second causing the beast to stop instantly.
Dipper kept his guard up in case it was a trick but the creature moved to one side and bowed to him.
"Ok?" Dipper walked slowly towards the entrance but still keeping his eye on the pig. Soon he entered the castle; he looked around the whole room, there was chairs and tables made up of the same thorn covered wood and piece of what remained of their former home.
"Hello, Mason."
At the mention of his real name, Dipper turned to the source, a long staircase and walking down from it, his sister Mabel.
At least that what he see, for his sister is barley recognize-able now. Instead of her usual attire she now wears a mix between an evil queen and a sorceress. Her long hair is now cut short to the neck, her lipstick is green to match her mascara that circles around her eyes and cheek like a scar.
And in her gloved hand her dead wood staff, with the human skull on top still holding the Half Diamond gem in its mouth.
Mable spun gracefully around. "What do you think?"
"I see you're into wood more," he remarked as Mable reached the end of the stairs.
"Oh, not my castle my outfit," Mabel said while stroking the skull. "I think it's a major improvement of to my last outfit, yuck what was I thinking then?"
Dipper glanced at the gem. "I see you still have Steven trapped."
"Yes," Mabel purred while rubbing the diamond. "Not only do I get to keep him close to me, he also is powering my magic, and I've put him in his own personal hell. Now if you ask me this might be the least he deserves, but I'll keep thinking."
Dipper took a deep breath. It's now or never.
"Mable, we have to talk."
Mabel ceased her stroking. "Oh, do we Mason?"
Dipper winched at his real name being used again. She only uses his real name when she's really upset.
"This power, where ever got it. It's going to cause suffering just like Weirdmaggedon!"
Mabel chuckled. "Oh no, no, no. This will be better then Fords stupid plan. Once my powers reach their ultimate state, nothing will stop me!"
Dipper quickly grabbed her shoulder. "Mable please listen to me I'm trying to help you!"
It was at that moment Mabel's eyes flashed green as she glared at her former brother. "Help me? HELP ME?!"
The staff sparked with green lightning making Dipper push back.
"YOU BETRAYED ME FOR THAT SKIMPY BLOND!" Mabel shouted, then her eyes returned to normal as she cooled down. "She has done nothing but made you weak."
"You're wrong," Dipper retorted as he picked himself up. "She made me stronger, she made me a better person."
Mabel rolled her eyes. "Oh please."
"She showed me what we did was wrong, and I'm thankful for her for saving me before it's too late." Dipper looked at Mabel with pleading eyes. "And that's why I'm here."
"Aw, are you going to save me?" Mabel mocked.
Dipper raised a hand to her. "If you will let me." Mabel scuffed in disgust and turned away from him.
Dipper sighed. "Mabel please, just listen to me!"
Dipper: The path of hate is a dangerous track. You take one step, and it's hard to turn back. It pulls you along, and though it seems wrong it feels right.
Mabel took a cleaning cloth and began cleaning the gem while Dipper kept his distance but slowly creeping close to her.
Dipper: Don't you see this path you're on leaves a permanent mark, it feels good a first, then it slowly turns dark. With each passing day, you're further astray from the light.
Mabel saw her former brother getting closer to her so she moved further away from him like a pile of trash.
Dipper: Suddenly you lose your way and lose the thread. Lose your cool and lose your head. Every loss is harder to excuse.
Crack.
Mabel paused as she lifts her foot up. What she stepped on was a picture frame, she lifted it up to look at it. It was an old picture of them as kids starting out their 1st plans together. She put her hand on the picture and let a small smile escape.
Dipper: Then you'll see you'll lose your faith and lose your soul. Till you lose complete control and realize there's nothing left to lose.
Nothing left to lose.
Finally, Dipper placed a gentle hand on Mabel's shoulder, she flinched a little but stayed still as he spoke.
"Mabel please listen to me I only want what's best and-"
Suddenly Mabel's eyes flared with anger as she slapped his hand away and s tossed the picture down while she glared at him.
"And what, be weak like you?!" And at that moment the skull on Mabel's staff glowed.
Mabel: The path I'm on is a path paved in black. I'm taking that road and I'm not looking back. Each twist and each turn leads straight where I'm yearning to go.
Mabel waved her staff in the air causing tendrils of thorns bursting from both the ground and from the walls. The tendrils rose her upward as the ones from the walls served as steps for her to walk on.
Mabel: Yes, it's true, my path is dark but I see where it ends. My rivals will fall as my power ascends. Despise me, that's fine I'm taking what's mine even so.
Then Mabel's eyes glowed green with fury again as she glared down at him.
Mabel: Not like you.
You lost your nerve you lost the game. But you and I, we're not the same.
I'm not lost, this fate was mine to choose.
Before Dipper could try once more to talk with her, torn tendrils erupted from the ground under him and grabbed both his legs and arms, serving as chains.
Mabel: So, I chose to lose my doubts and lose my chains, lose each weakness that remains.
Now that I have nothing left to lose.
Nothing left to lose.
Mabel started walking down her tendril steps towards Dipper who is still fighting to free himself from the chains and when Mabel finally reached him, she slapped him with the staff.
She grinned, waiting to see the look of anger on his face, but to her shock, instead of that Dipper gave her a look of sadness and plead.
Dipper: You have so much to hold onto.
Mable snarled causing the thorns on Dipper's chains to pierce his skin and another tendril rose up, this time wrapping around his neck.
Mabel: I only want, my rightful dues!
Fighting off both the chains and the pain Dipper continued to try his best to speak with Mabel as she called upon more thorn chains to bind him.
Dipper & (Mabel): Mabel please (Lose) You've lost your grip and lost your mind. (I'm Not gonna lose)
All's not lost, don't be so blind. (I refuse)
Cut your losses, drop the IOUs. (I refuse)
Mable tightened her grip on her staff in fury causing more of the tendrils to wrap around Dipper till only his head was shown but he kept on looking at her with those sad eyes, increasing her fury.
Dipper: Ooh, Choose!
Mabel: I lose no tears, and lose no sleep.
What I want, I'll take and keep.
Dipper: It's time for you to choose!
Mabel: You can't stop.
Dipper and Mabel: The turning of the screws.
Mabel raised a hand and then the thorns shrunk into the chains relieving Dipper from the pain, then the vine-like chains covering his body formed into a ball while his head still stuck out.
Mabel gripped his chin to look into her glowing green eyes. "Consider this your one and only waring. If you get in my way again…I'll kill you."
Then the vines covered his head and the ball rolled out of the castle and out of sight. Mabel glanced back at the broken frame of the picture, then with a tap of her staff, a large spike erupted underneath the frame not only completely broken it but also ripping the picture.
Mabel: Now I have nothing left to lose.
The wooden tendrils from the walls and floor started forming her throne allowing her to sit upon it. As Mabel sat contemplating her plans for this town then the world as well as what to do to her enemies, she failed to notice the tears falling from her cheeks.
The End.
