To all followers of this story, I apologize for how long it took to get in this chapter. I had hit a writers block as well as some issues in my life. I'm not sure how many chapters this story has left, because at this point I'm just brain storming, but to not rush things for Violet and Buddy, I may make a sequel to this story. In this chapter Violet dramatically changes, and though she may be coming out of character, I don't believe that this metamorphis is too out there.

Once again I apologize for the delay, and hope you enjoy this chapter and the ones to come after.

Thank You.s

Sneaking out of the NSA HQ wasn't difficult now with a suit to help keep her hidden from sight, though she had a few close calls, nearly bumping into a security guard, as well another super. She took the stairs to get down to the main level. She couldn't risk getting caught in the elevator.

Once down in the lobby, Violet had a clean get away; that is until she saw what was in store on the other side of the revolving doors. Her parents and younger brothers, here for a visit to see how she was doing. If there was anyone who could detect her while invisible, it was them.

First to go through the revolving doors was Dash, wearing his usual street attire, red shirt with a pair of cargo shorts, his school bag slung over his shoulder.

Next was her mother and J.J, holding hands as she scolded him for making faces at the receptionist. Of course he could do much worse than that, she had seen him do worse.

Finally was her father. Of the four of them he would take the news the worst. Not only of what she was to do, but for leaving without so much as a goodbye. Once half way through the revolver Violet took to the door.

As her father push his way around the door, Violet jumped into the first slot possible, making it outside. She didn't make a run for it now. Instead she went to the window and watched her family.

Her father was making small talk with another man who had just stepped out of an elevator, as Dash was tugging on his arm. Vi held in a giggle. She always did think it was funny how he would never have to worry about being late, yet he always was in a rush. Jack-jack was munching away on a cookie the receptionist gave him, getting crumbs all over mom. Mom. She was looking right at her.

No. Violet assured herself. Not 'at', but through her. Yet she couldn't shake the feeling that she did see her. She was always able to see when she was upset, like when Tony broke up with her. She remember how well she played it off. Not well enough to hide it from her though.

Violet waited until the four vanished behind the elevator doors to leave. She might never get to see them again, so she savored what time she had left with them. Once the doors closed she was off. Keeping a good pace. In a few minutes the NSA, as well as her family, would realize she was missing.

She couldn't waste a second. She had to get to the prison and fast. It would certainly be one of the first places anyone would look. After all she had been asking to see Buddy every day since she woke up, nearly a week after the rescue. Her eyes darted around for some way to make faster progress when her eyes spotted a prisoner bus, freshly packed with outlaws and crooks from the court house.

If she didn't know any better, she would of assumed someone, or something was making everything line up perfectly. Before the traffic began to move again, Violet mounted herself on the hood of the bus. In about ten minute's time, she would be behind prison walls.

"Gone?! What do you mean she's gone?!" Roared Robert Parr at her therapist.

"Gone; as in not here. Listen, it's really nothing to worry about. She couldn't have left the building, her clothes were found in the bathroom, and maybe she just wanted to walk around the building without being bothered." He noted. "She seems to be most comfortable talking to me when she's invisible… Of course she is fully dressed, I assure you." Making a quick recovery.

Robert sighed giving a nod. Maybe she was taking a quick walk around. "Well- I guess we'll look around to see if she just hiding." He muttered turning away.

"Yep, you do that." Dr. Ward called. "Oh, maybe she is with her aunt. So just keep an eye out for her too."

The Parr family all stopped in unison. Dash glanced up to mother in confession. "We have an aunt?"

Helen suddenly hissed "Edna" under her breath. "Suit up boys. We have to find your sister." She ordered before looking to Dr. Ward. "How long ago did she come in?"

Glancing at the ceiling to think, he replied with the answer of about half an hour ago. By that time frame, Violet could have been anywhere within 3 miles by foot alone. Helen gave a huff of frustration.

"Dash. I need to go down the prison. If you see her, contact us immediately. Dash gave a quick nod then he was off. "Bob, get Rick. Just let him know what's going on. Maybe he can pull some strings on getting Buddy under special surveillance." Bob nodded quickly as well.

"Alright, but what about you?" He asked his wife who burrowed her brow.

"I'm going to go give Edna a piece of my mind."

"Mommy! Can I do something?!" Jack-Jack pleaded. Helen smiled leaning down.

"Of course! You can come with me to make sure I don't strangle Auntie Edna."

Upon arriving at the prison, Violet gave a silent curse. Dash was just outside of the prison gates, speaking to a group of guards. It wasn't a coincidence, they knew she was gone, and they knew what she was up too. Violet knew Dash could outrun her, and it would be difficult to sneak past him, as if it wasn't hard enough to break into a maximum security prison. The bus came to a halt right beside the guards so they could inspect the prisoners, as well search for her.

Her eyes searched for something to distract Dash when one of the guards entered the bus. Suddenly a plan came to life. Quietly, Violet jumped down from the bus and scurried into it. The guard was only feet in front of her, his keys dangling from a clip attached to his belt. If she messed up here, her rescue mission would be over before it started. She had to do it quickly.

Without delaying another moment, she made her move. First she closed the door to the bus to prevent any more men getting onto the bus, and to keep it that way she delivered a blow to the driver which wasn't enough to knock him out, but certainly enough to delay him from assisting the prison security. At this point her cover was blown, but she had to act fast before her brother came up with a plan. She pounced on the guard, knocking him to the floor and swiped the keys. Now Dash was circling the bus attempting to pick out where she was.

"Sis! I know you are in there! Stop whatever this stupid idea of yours is!" He ordered, but it only fueled Violet to carry out with her distraction.

She revealed herself to the prisoners whom most of them were shocked to see the familiar super symbol.

"It's Invisi Girl!" One of the men shouted.

"Holy shit, she's gone rouge!" another roared, fear clear as day in his voice, but she didn't have to to explain. She made fast work of the cuffs, releasing all twenty nine the prisoners in just a minute. Their first reaction was to get off the bus, which she was thankful for, she didn't want to more harm to come to the guards than needed.

As the prisoners scrambled off the bus and ran in separate directions, she cloaked herself once more before Dash could pick her out from the group of now escapees.

Dash was fast, but he didn't have the tools to contain all the men, which meant needing back up from the prison security guards, and while the front gate was unmanned, she made her way into prison.

Due to the escaping prisoners, back up was being called upon by units all around the facility. If it wasn't for her having to dodge the men in riot gear, the entry was now somewhat of a cake walk.

Being a heroine, no, being an Incredible almost made her a staff member of this facility. She knew these halls better than the mall.

Upon arrival of the elevator that would lead down to the more 'diabolical' villains, there was already a small team blocking the doors.

She couldn't help but smirk. Four men. That was it. Going through Veto's experiments, as horrible as they were, made her discover her true potential. She was treated almost like a non-super when in the graces of both supers, and non-supers. A bench warmer, back up, or just a shield. She knew after today, she wouldn't be seen so weak.

She revealed herself to the men only feet away. All but one of them jumped. The one that didn't was rather familiar to The Incredible team.

"Invisi Girl! This is your final warning, cease and don't resist and maybe you'll be given a pass." His words seemed more fitting for a child caught taking cookies from a cookie jar. Not an up and coming super villain.

"Sorry Jimmy. I can't do that." She muttered.

Once the words left her mouth, all four of them went for their less than lethal weapons. Two Tasers, one of which held by Jimmy, and two batons. She couldn't help but smirk.

In the blink of an eye the four of them were trapped in her force field, all with rather shocked expressions.

"I don't know why this is my first time trying this. I mean, come on, nothing is easier to protect myself than blocking off you guys." She said, forcing the force field bubble out of her way. Pressing the button to signal the elevator she smiled at the four who pounded away on the dome the contained them.

"Invisi Girl, stand down immediately!" Jimmy ordered, now with a tone that was much more suited for the situation at hand.

"You know James. I think I have to switch up my name now. Don't you think?" She asked as the doors opened. Stepping in and pressing for the bottom floor, just as the doors were closed she released the men. "See you in a little bit!" she called.

She knew her parents wouldn't approve of her behavior. With each step she took now she was getting further and further from her heroic identity, but of course, she was never seen as a real hero anyway. More like a side kick.

The doors opened to the grand hall of super villains. Each cell built specifically for each baddie, to properly secure them. Her eyes darted to each side in search of the one that held Buddy, but his voice came to her before she could see him.

"What are you doing here?!" He hissed as Violet quickly went up to the cell door. Being that Buddy's only power was his mind, he was kept in the average cell, but denied anything with so much as a battery.

"I'm breaking you out- that's what." She hissed right back as she looked over the lock to the door.

"Hey boys, looks like Pine's little girlfriend is here to visit!" Teased a familiar voice, but she ignored it.

"Vi- just stop it okay? I- I want to be in here. I deserve to be in here." He muttered watching her. "You're a super, a great one at that!"

"Buddy?"

"Yes Vi?"

"Shut up already." She muttered as she summoned her force field power, but it was in the form of a small rod. Inserting it into the key hole, violet concentrated of the lock now.

"What are you-"Buddy began to inquire before the deafening sound of a click came up and she swung the door open.

"Turns out I'm more than just pretty face that can vanish in thin air."

Buddy couldn't help but smile as her pulled her close. "Oh yea, so much more." He said with a chuckle before he moved back to take the full image of her. "Speaking of your good looks, I'm digging the new uniform." Violet did a twirl for him, as though she were fashioning a ball gown for the man. "Though to be honest it looks like you fit in this place pretty well." He joked but she just nodded.

"Well, if it's all same to you, I'd rather not settle in. Come on." She ordered grabbing his hand heading for the elevator doors. Heading for freedom, and their future, but he didn't budge.

"Vi-"

"Jesus Buddy! We can't stay here! My brother is probably on his way here now!" She growled, her escape plan unraveling before her eyes.

"Then where are we going then, hmm?" He growled back, removing his hand from her group. "A cabin in the woods? Or how about a secluded island? Oh, I know, how about under a freeway?" He shook his head at the idea. "Because no one would ever find us."

"We've both been hiding for a majority of our lives as it is, I don't see what's wrong with wanting to hide together." She spat. The words took him by surprise, but he moved his hands right over where he butchered her while with Veto which made her wince.

"Can you hide this from me? Even if you could I know it'd be there." He whispered. "Violet. You still have a chance out there, don't be stupid. Don't throw it all away on my account." He pleaded. "I'm begging you, just start over. Give up the life of a super, go back to school or get a decent job, find a guy who can take care of you… Just start over."

Violet blinked at the plea, which made Buddy think that he had broken though to her, but the smile that she put only not only melted his heart but twisted it too. She placed her hands over his and continued to smile at him.

"Buddy. I am giving up being a Super. Why do you think I'm here?" She asked tilting her head to the side. He removed himself from her but she made an advance on him her arms wrapped around his neck.

"I have to say, being a hero never did me much good…" She whispered softly eyeing him with a bit of sparkle in her eyes. "I lost out on so much, but I was willing to give that up." She whispered softly. "But then there came you, second time around of course... and you came to my recuse... and look at what the heroes did to you…"

"I did it to myself." He corrected.

"No." She snapped. "You just went along with it, because it was the right thing to do... but it's not right." She hissed, one of her hands moving down his chest. "You were a victim."

"Victim's don't kill people." He warned.

"They do when they aren't saved. You reached out... and everyone ignored you..." She whispered her lips on his throat now.

"I'm tired of begging Buddy." She whispered, her voice like a toxin, making him ill. "Tired of doing what I'm supposed too when I'm supposed too." Her eyes flashing up at him and that's when he saw it, he cupped her chin into his hands, his eyes searching in hers for a spark of light, but her orbs were dark. The girl was transforming before his eyes.

He'd be lying if he said she wasn't turning him on, but on another level it was tearing him apart.

"… I've ruined everything." His voice pained by the truth, but she shook her head forcing his gaze back to hers.

"What if I was never meant for that part? The role of a hero never suited me... and I've never had the option to be normal."

"You can't." He was begging now. The innocent but loyal super was gone now. "I've complicated you, corrupted you, but don't let me be your destruction as well." But how she smiled at him.

"Syndrome…" She whispered softly against his skin, his cell mates all in awe at the public display of her affection.

"That's not my name anymore." He couldn't bear to watch her anymore as she removed her cloak and wrapped it around him. He felt her hands clutch at his shirt, and when he opened his eyes he couldn't see her, but more so he couldn't see himself. He felt her lips on his but he was unable to return the kiss, unsure where his own lips were.

The kiss was demanding but short lived. She was only half way through her operation. She smiled backing away but took his hand again, both still invisible.

"This is the only way we can be together." She sounded more herself now, but the words didn't feel right to him.

"There is no going back. If you take me out you will throw everything else out of your life. You won't be able to be with your family, you can't rely on anyone but yourself."

"And you?" She asked.

"..And me." He added reluctantly.

"You're all I need."

"Why are you doing this?"

"Because I love you."

He wished he could see those words come from her lips, and not from thin air. He wanted so much at this moment but he couldn't even know where to start.

"I love you too." He whispered, her hand taking his once more.

"Then let's get out of here and celebrate, shall we?" She asked, though it was more of an order.

"How are we going to celebrate exactly?" He asked confused as she led him into the elevator.

"Why we are going to kill Veto of course." She said as if it were a fact.

"Killing isn't your style."

"No, but then again, breaking into prisons isn't exactly a trend of mine either."

He couldn't help but chuckle as they elevator doors closed.

"Are we really doing this? I mean I've done this side of the coin before... but are you sure that you-"

"I'm not saying I'm committing myself to a life of crime, Pine." She smiled at the little rhyme. "… Let's just call it going rouge." The term coming from the escaped, or nearly escaped prisoner.

"Call it whatever you want Vi, but you'll lose a lot of fans." The doors opened once more on the floor she had left the guards, still encased in her shield.

"I'll need a new name." She muttered walking out of the elevator.

"I'm sure the reporters already have a few in line with this stunt." He said as they walked by the guards. "This time tomorrow you'll be on every front page. 'Good girl gone bad', Invisi girl vanishes with devilishly handsome genius'."

She laughed shaking her head, revealing herself to the world again, and Buddy along with her.

"I just hope they don't name me after Houdini or something." She muttered glancing out a barred window. The place was surrounded with cop cars and her family on the front lines. She sighed at the sight.

"Little Miss Deceitful might be the winner." She whispered looking to Buddy again before turning away and going for a stair case.

"Violet, where in the hell are you going?"

"The roof. You don't expect us to actually walk out of here, do you?" She asked looking over her shoulder, her raven hair hiding her gaze. "The only way to travel is by flight."
