It's with deep regret that I have to inform those of you who followed this story for the past seventeen chapters, nearly six years, that I am discontinuing this series. I've really painted myself into a corner and the story did not go the way I had originally intended. I rushed the romance, let the bad guy get away and made the characters get out of their personalities too much.
When I tried to retrace my steps in earlier chapters to make a new path I found that I really disliked my story as a whole. The first few chapters were rather sloppily written (and continue to be). As a reader, I lost interest by chapter five, and as the writer I lost hope before that.
I can't tell you how disappointed I am in myself for leading on what followers I had this far to end on a cliff hanger that I did. I hope that maybe I can find that motivation I held back in 2009 and finish the story, but as I said previously, I've exhausted all my options by butchering what I had.
I might revisit Synlet with a new story, something darker, but that might not be for a while. If the rumors about The Incredibles sequel, I may wait until that time to produce something, but otherwise this is all I have.
