Note this takes place in between Naruto and Boruto. Kakashi is currently the Hokage and moon incident from Naruto: The Last happened just over a year ago. This is the tale of three OC's as this era has only a bit of info about it. Some things will change but I am going to try my best to keep it within the original source material to work with naruto and boruto.

Each of the three is still genin at the start, remarkable genin but still genin and thus are not going to randomly outperform Jonin in the first bit of the story.

Chapter 1 - Hazing

A young man with white spiked hair, maybe no more than 15 years old prepares his shuriken for another bout of training. He has pretty much perfected the Uchiha flame shuriken jutsu he found in the leaf archive. However pretty much perfect was not anywhere close enough for his liking. He launches the shuriken and quickly lets out a gout of flame that engulfs all of them, five of the six shurikens hit the target. The last one was just off as the flames melted one of the points it lost some of the momentum and went past the head of the dummy. The boy let out an audible and frustrated moan "Damn shuriken, damn teammates and damn that late ass Jonin".

He narrowed his purplish-red eyes as he heard an approach of someone to his left. He prepared himself for either to berate one of his new teammates or his new Jonin. To his surprise, he saw a little girl with dark blue hair in combat gear approaching him. He blurted out to the child in a harsher tone than he probably would have liked "What are you doing here kid? This is the Team twelve training ground." He sighed and calmed his tone ever so slightly but added a condescending aspect to his voice "A team of higher-skilled genin."

The young girl stared at him, her face mask expanded as she sighed at the 'idiot' in front of her. "I am part of your team, and I am probably already a better ninja than you ever will be" The two of them locked eyes as her golden eyes flashed with mild disdain towards the spiky-haired shinobi. "Your Jutsu was off, the flame was 12 degrees too hot, the last one started to melt as it was being exposed longer." a pause took the two of them as a standoff began to brew.

"Well, teammate I guess we should introduce ourselves." The white-haired genin proclaimed "I am Kasai Hasamura, a pleasure to meet you kid."

"I am Hana Oharu, not 'kid' and the pleasure is all yours I'm sure," she said while glaring at the 'idiot'.

The standoff grew in intensity until being broken by the crack of a branch. The girl quickly drew a tanto from a sheath on her back and the boy drew four shrunken. The two looked as a girl no older than the white-haired genin jumped down off a branch. She had long dark blue and black hair and wore a white coat over a mesh suit that hugged close to her frame. Pink shorts and a crimson armband with the plate of Konohagakure on it. She looked at the two other Genin and adjusted her sunglasses. Almost appraising the two of them.

She began to mumble incoherently "arrogant … perfectionist … both possible geniuses should probably wait for the Jonin to test them" is all the two of them heard in the three minutes of rambling. After this time the girl looked at them. "Oh shit, you heard that didn't you." In response she just got two confused nods by the other genin "Well nice to meet both of you I'm Mari Senju and you're Kasai Hasamura and Hana Oharu." She happily proclaimed with a beaming smile across her face. The three Genin looked at each other in a mix of confusion and intrigue before all of them realized that they were about to be attacked.

The three lept away as a kunai with an explosive tag landed in the center of the three. Clearly whoever threw it gave them enough time to get away but they all went on guard. Mari was attacked first as a blur came out of the bushes next to her. She barely blocked the attack but it sent her careening back as she hit a tree. Just as she was about to get up a sharp pain struck her neck before she collapsed back against the tree. The blur dodged to the side just as quickly as it attacked. Doing so the blur narrowly avoided a Fireball Jutsu from Kasai. Kasai yelled out to Hana to get to his back to cover each other. The young girl however screamed out "Lightning Release: Violet Bolt" she charged forward, with a mass of violet electricity surrounding her right hand. With an insane burst of speed for a Genin, she found herself almost catching the blur and forcing it to stop revealing a woman dressed similar to Mari but in a beige coat rather than white and purple hair spiked at the back with a snake mask over her face. The woman grabbed the hand of the young girl and threw her over and against a rock on the waterline of the stream through the training ground.

Kasai prepared himself and defiantly proclaimed "If you want something doing properly do it yourself" he rushes forward to meet the assailant. The two met in a taijutsu flurry against one another before he furiously yelled out "Scorch Release: Brilliant Palm Strike" The strike hit and instantly incinerated the mask and probably would have burnt the shinobi underneath if not for substituting with a snake clone. The shinobi almost rising from the ground behind Kasai quietly exclaimed "Snake Clone: Paralysis Jutsu" with this and a quick strike to the back of the head Kasai fell into unconsciousness.
