Chapter 1 Smart aid.

While Jake was working at Smart aid stacking adult diapers up his crush Amy walked in with her friends, she threw the diapers to one of the males, and he threw it back, knocking over the stack of diapers. Shelley, the person he worked with, told him he had a phone call. She drove him, but on the way, his grandfather rang him wanting to know where the key was.

"Dad has it," Jake said while Shelley looked at him for a few seconds, then put her eyes back on the road. His grandfather hanged up. By the time they made it to his grandfather's house, it was dark. Jake rushed inside, seeing the house looked like it had been broken into. Jake looked at the screen door. It was off its hinges, so he followed it and found his grandfather lying on the ground on his stomach.

Jake turned his grandfather over and saw he had no eyes. He pulled his phone out and called for an ambulance, but his grandfather grabbed his arm.

"You need to get away from here. It's not safe here, go to the island, take your sister with you, find Emerson there is a postcard, go to the loop the bird will explain everything to you and your sister," Abe said before he died.

Jake saw a monster before Shelley showed up, so Shelley started firing her gun, but she couldn't see anything. Jake had to see Dr. Golan talk about what happened to his grandfather.

Jake's older sister Savannah had been at the hospital when her grandfather died. She had been feeling sick for a couple of weeks and wanted to know why. It turns out she was pregnant, and when she told her boyfriend, Tyler Dunkin, he bailed on her.

Savannah is 22 years old, always believed in her grandfather's stories. Her favorites were Alma Peregrine, Fiona with her growing stuff, and Claire. She thought Claire was a sweetheart and always wanted to meet them. Savannah had a bit of a crush on Alma. Savannah refused to talk to Dr. Golan. She didn't trust her, so Savannah coped with doing something like painting.

Savanna was always painting Alma, Fiona, and Claire. She even painted one with Alma and her children together. About two months had gone by since Abe's death. Both Jake and Savannah were coping with it a bit but not much. Their parents still made Jake see the doctor.
