Chapter 2

First of all thanks to everyone who responded and favorited this story! Here is the second chapter where Leon starts his search for Chairman Rose. Hope you enjoy reading it!

His alarm is buzzing annoyingly. He gets up while rubbing his eyes and yawns. His body is still blue and sore but he must get on track. He must find Chairman Rose. Leon smiles when he sees that Sonia put his clothes on the chair in the guest bedroom where he is sleeping, and he quickly gets dressed. Then he walks to the kitchen where Sonia is already sipping from some tea.

"Good morning," Leon says. Sonia looks up from her phone.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" She asks.

"Good enough to travel. I hope Charizard is also feeling better." The head of the orange dragon appears in the kitchen and he growls. Sonia was okay with letting him sleep in the living room. They both thought it would be best for him.

"Hey, buddy." Leon greets him. He scratches the neck of Charizard and the dragon pushes his head against Leon's chest as a way of saying hi. "I'm glad you are feeling better. Do you think you can fly?" Charizards growls as a yes.

"Great, let's go then!"

"Don't you want to have breakfast first?" Sonia asks.

"Oh, yeah. Good idea." Leon sits at the kitchen table and prepares some sandwiches, also for on the road. Sonia gives him a black bag for the sandwiches and a water bottle that he put around his shoulders. When his mouth is still full with bread he stands up and puts Charizard in his Pokeball. Sonia glares at him and shakes her head. Why such in a hurry she thinks...

"Thanks. Sonia for everything and good luck with your work today," Leon says after he swallows his bread. "See you later!" He raises a hand as a goodbye and walks towards the front door. Sonia follows him outside but when she gets there her friend is already flying away.

"Good luck Leon, be careful!" She shouts while waving him goodbye. Then she goes back inside the house. It is time to go to work. Finally, her first day as a professor has come.

The wind blows through his hair. He loves the feeling of flying so high that everything beneath you looks small. Where should he go? Probably the place where the helicopter landed or better say crashed... But how does he get there? Leon grabs his phone and searches for the location. Too bad for him that there are no descriptions of how to get there while flying. Only the roads are depicted, so he has to figure it out for himself...

It took him some time but finally, he reaches the place Rose and Oleanna have landed or crashed better said. There are a lot of police officers walking around the helicopter, probably trying to find some traces of the fugitives. Leon lands with his Charizard and walks to the man who seems to be the head office.

"Hello, did you find anything?" He asks.

"Champion Leon? What are you doing here?" The man sticks out his hand for a handshake. "'I'm Scott, head officer of Hammerlocke."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Leon." He shakes his hand while answering his question: "I'm trying to find Chairman Rose and his secretary, just like you."

"That is nice of you, but you can leave this investigation to us. You probably have a lot of other duties that are calling." Scott says. His dark brown eyes don't look unfriendly but are harsh. He puts his hand in the pockets of his leather jacket.

"Actually, I don't. So did you find anything yet?"

"With all the respect Champion I cannot tell you, it is secret information. Also, this is a crime scene and you should not be here. If you want to look for them, you should look for them on your own."

"Okay... I understand. I will go then." Leon says.

"Wait, I want to question you, because you were pretty close to him, weren't you?" the man says.

"Well, yeah, I suppose. But I didn't have anything to do with the Darkest Day."

"No, no, of course not. I'm just wondering if you maybe know where the Chairman can be. Let me take you to my office. There we can talk." The officer beckons to his police car.

"I rather fly to the police station, if you don't mind, officer. I need to think about my reputation." If people see him sitting in the back of a police car rumors will be spread, for sure.

Scott shrugs his shoulders. "Fine by me, I will meet you there as soon as possible."

Leon walks back to Charizard but before he flies away he looks at the defective helicopter from a distance. It was no bad crash, only the top of the helicopter is damaged. He wonders how injured Rose and Oleanna are, probably not too much, otherwise, they couldn't have fled away. After the interrogation, he will search further...

Leon flies to the Police station in Hammerlocke and waits at one of the couches in the lobby till the officer has arrived. It doesn't take long before the black-haired man arrives. He takes him to his offices and gestures to the chair at the other side of the desk. Leon sits down and waits for the officer to start talking. Meanwhile, he looks around the office. The blue walls are almost completely empty, except for a few photo's hanging behind the man's desk. It gives a chilly vibe.

The officer vows his fingers above the table and rests his head on his hands. "So Leon, what is your relation to Chairman Rose?"

"Well, I've known him pretty long by now. He helped me with getting where I'm now."

"So you would say he had a big influence on your life?"

"Yes. He had."

"Do you know where he is now?"

"I wish I would but I have no clue."

"Hmm... But you are searching for him, aren't you?"

"I am, yes. But I don't know where he is, otherwise, I wouldn't be searching."

For a few seconds, Scott glances at him. It makes him feel uncomfortable. "What else can I help you with?" Leon asks to make an end to the awkward silence.

Scott shakes his head slowly. "Nothing... Only I would like to have your number in case we find something."

"Sure." After giving the man his number he can go. When he comes into the lobby he sees a man sitting in one of the chairs he just sat in. He blinks with his eyes, what is he doing here...

"Hey Raihan!" he says. The man looks up and gives him a surprised smile while standing up. "Leon? Did the police finally catch you for fraud?"

He must have looked really confused because Raihan says: "Because you never lose."

Leon laughs. "No, he had some questions about Rose. What about you?"

"Well, my gym was the place where he did all his evil things and they were wondering if I knew anything." Raihan shrugs his shoulders. "Of course I didn't know about it."

"No, he played it really good. Anyway good luck with the interrogation, I need to go."

"What are you up to?" Raihan asks curiously.

"I'm going to find Rose."

"I thought the Police was busy with that."

"They are but they don't want my help. So then I will do it myself."

"You sure are badass," Raihan says sarcastically.

Leon rolls with his eyes. "Better do something than nothing."

"True. True. Well, good luck with that. And if you need help, just give me a call."

"Thanks, Raihan... Since when are you so helpful?" Leon grins.

"Always... Didn't your girl tell you that I rescued her?"

"My girl?" Leon looks at him confusingly.

"Apparently not," Raihan laughs. "I forgot to introduce myself, but she had red hair."

"You mean Sonia? When did you meet her?"

"Sonia... I met her the other day when you were battling Eternatus. That didn't go very well for you either, did it?"

Leon ignores his question. "She didn't tell me about you, so you probably didn't make a memorable impression."

"Yeah sure, she just didn't want to tell you. Everybody remembers me." He grins.

"No lack of confidence here," Leon mumbles.

"Nope, and next time we battle my confidence will be rewarded." He winks at his rival, with an amused grin on his face.

"Well anyway, when I see Sonia again I will greet her from you," Leon says while walking away. "I'm heading off now, see you later Raihan."

"Wait, I didn't mean it that way. Leon!" Raihan shouts after him. Leon doesn't react to Raihan but he smiles because of his reaction. They have been rivals for a long time, and maybe he can better call Raihan a friend than a rival, although they don't see each other a lot outside the battlefield. He does know Raihan can be a flirt. Girls like his attitude and confidence. He hopes Sonia won't fall for that and if she does Raihan better be serious with her, otherwise...

He shakes his head against his thoughts. Just focus on what is important know, Raihan was probably just joking around anyway, he speaks to himself. Leon throws the Pokeball in the air and Charizard comes out. "Come on buddy, Let's find Rose."
