Chapter 5 - The Mansion, Part 1
Author's Notes: Sorry for the late update. Now that they're ready for the Woodland mansion, can the pups survive the journey and make it out of the Mansion in one piece? Well, you're about to find out.
Disclaimer: I own almost nothing of this story, just the story itself and the (non-expy) OCs that I created. Also, I don't know German or Spanish, so I had to use Google Translate for that, but I would like to learn the former one day.
Also, This site is saying that only 1% of visitors fav & follow, so don't forget to click that fav button for both and leave a review, too.
And now for the 5th part of the story.
"We're back in the overworld. Looks like we'll take a break before the mansion," sighed Skye, wanting to rest a little bit before doing anything else.
"Anyone want to go exploring? I heard that there's some Buried Treasure somewhere around here," mentioned Rubble, who wants to go exploring.
Suddenly, a panicking villager ran up to them, something they hadn't seen before.
"Please help! A bunch of Illagers have attacked the village and our Iron Golem got killed!" yelled the panicking villager
"Ok, we'll save your village," reposted Chase
Soon, the news similar attacks happened around many villages around the area, including in obscure places like at the bottom of the ocean, the fiery depths of the Nether, and even in the Aether and End dimensions.
"Do you know where all the attacks are coming from?" asked Chase.
"Ask the cartographer, he knows where everything is." A local farmer asked.
After several minutes of searching, they found a building with a Cartography table. Inside, there was a villager with a monocle. He didn't appear like it, but clearly he was what the pups were looking for.
"Come one, come all! Maps for sale, every day! Maps for sale, to everywhere!" The cartographer advertised his maps with the above phrase. "No, seriously. They really can take you to anywhere if you get the right map."
"If that's the case, then can we have a map leading us to the nearest woodland mansion?" asked Zuma.
"Yeah, just one. We only need one of them," added Shelly.
"I wouldn't get one of those if I were you... Every time someone gets one of those, they never came back. Not sure if they died along the way there, died at their destination, died on the way back, or joined the Illagers. I think it's the second one, though."
"Don't worry, we'll make our way back and survive. I promise we will."
"Ok, that's 55 emeralds. A surprise is included, too. It's gonna help you on your quest."
"Dang, what a rip off - 55 emeralds for just one map..." commented Chase.
"I heard that they normally cost 30 emeralds. I think a surprise was part of the bundle, too," Columbia responded.
"Really?"
"I think I saw something the same color as a shulker next to the map," commented Zuma.
"I also heard that Shulker Boxes normally cost 30 emeralds, too. Looks like it was a deal after all."
5 minutes later...
"Ok, so this mansion is some- YIKES! Twenty-two thousand, ninehundred-fifty-four blocks away? This is crazy!" commented Tracker. "Parece que necesitaremos un transporte más rápido (Looks like we'll need a faster method of transportation)."
"How about the Nether? Every 8 blocks in the overworld is one block in the Nether." asked Shelly.
"Or the Aether? 6 blocks in the overworld equals one block in the aether."
"How about we fly instead? Riposted Skye.
"Good Idea for the latter, just hold on a second so that I can get some Elytras for us." Rocky commented while typing in [/give at_a minecraft:elytra]. "Ok, ready for flight. Just jump off a high place, jump again in midair to use your elytra, then use your firework rockets to give yourself a boost."
The pups did what Rocky instructed, taking off into the air, except for Marshall, who only had one firework (which had a firework star) which exploded and dove Marshall head-first into the ground, killing him when he landed.
"Woah- woaoaoah-Ouch!" He uttered seconds before he died. "I'm OK!"
5 minutes later...
"We're here!" announced Skye. "Marshall? Where's Marshall?" she wondered, puzzled by his absense.
"Didn't he crash earlier?" Columbia replied. I think he's at the World Spawn.
"According to the map, we're here." announced Tracker.
"It's Ok. I'll just teleport him here." commented Rocky, while typing [/tp Marshall at_s]. "There. There he is." commented Rocky.
"Where - where am I? I thought I died," asked Marshall.
"Yes, you did die, Rocky teleported you here," responded Tracker.
"Did you really think we would leave you behind?" asked Rocky.
"I honestly had no idea," replied Marshall.
"Now that is over with, let's explore this mansion." With that, the pups split into 2 teams, with Chase, Zuma, Everest, and Marshall in one team, and Rocky, Columbia, Rubble, and Skye in another.
On the first floor, there was a lot of paintings and portraits that looked so realistic that they may not make sense in this world, including a painting of their original designs (see the Wikipedia page for PAW Patrol for more details).
"Exactly what the hell does this painting mean? That's not what we look like at all!" yelled Chase, seeing a painting of realistic versions of the pups.
"I think I just saw a loot chest. Let's loot it!" Everest yelled out of the blue, opening the chest she found. In that chest, there are diamond helmets and a chestplate, several bones and rotten flesh, and music disc cat.
"Sir, One of the patrols never returned from this floating parthenon," an Illager wearing a lumberjack's jacket said over a 1990-esque phone.
"Send another patrol to the Aether. That will take care of those pesky Valkyres," riposted a formally-dressed magician, on the other end of the phone.
"Ok, got it! Also, I think a few intruders are in here," the vindicator responded.
"Oh, flip! A vindicator just saw us." Chase fought off the vindicator, ending in Victory for Chase.
Meanwhile, a bunch of pillagers were chasing Skye, Rubble, Columbia, and Rocky. Things were not going well for them, though.
"How are we gonna survive this bullet hell when they're RIGHT BEHIND US AND SHOOTING ARROWS LIKE CRAZY!?" yelled Skye, as they dodged the arrows as if Leafy was throwing knives at them.
"Shields! Get them out and sneak to activate them."
"OK. Not sure tha- OUCH!
The pups soon deployed their shields and deflected the arrows, with Rocky sniping them.
Several minutes later...
"Phew. Glad that's over with. At least we killed them."
"Or maybe not?" an unfortunate Skye asked the moment a Vindicator walked up and killed a trespassing rabbit. The nearby pups could clearly see her concern, which turned into panic when the vindicators cased after them. The pups hid from them, so the vindicator finding nothing and walking away.
"You know, I really wanna play Kerbal Space Program right now, and launch an SSTO (acronym for Single Stage To Orbit), like I've been doing for the past few days before this mayhem," Rocky replied about what he missed most. Sadly, he won't be able to do it until they beat Minecraft first.
"I know, I love KSP too, but I can't play it either," Columbia replied to Rocky, "Anyways, where's Zuma, Marshall, Everest, and Chase?" the light-toned chocolate laborador asked about her brother.
Meanwhile, Chase's team was at the top floor and slashed their way through a bunch of Vindicators and Evokers. A few minutes later, a Creeper caught them by surprise and blasted a hole through the floor right below the pups.
"AAAAAAAAAARRGH!" they screamed as they fell into the darkness below, suppressed by Gravity itself until they hit a shallow pool of water (They would have died if it was solid ground). When they woke up, they saw that they were in a Lush Caves biome, full of glowing berries and mossy platforms.
"Where... Where are we?"
To Be Continued…
Right after the break.
Plot notes (and how they contradict the game):
22,954 blocks away from spawn is twice the average distance that the closest Woodland Mansion is in a lot of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition seeds, at least from my experience from playing it.
Valkyries, Glowstone Portals, and The Aether dimension are all part of a mod that I like so much that I decided to include this as part of this fanfic. It is not in the vanilla game, so if you try to put water in a glowstone portal without the legit mod or you're playing on bedrock edition, you're gonna place a source block and all the torches and flowers you just placed will pop off into items.
Cheats in survival Minecraft: I (usually) play with Cheats during my playthoughs to avoid the frustration of losing my items after death. Trust me, it's very frustrating if you loose your items when you die, so I prioritize having fun over being good at a given game (Except for Kerbal Space Program, in which there are no cheaters you could come across online because it's Single Player, and that Failures actually are funny). Fortunately, if you win too many times, Victory gets boring and you usually start messing around with stuff like the Physics engine of Kerbal Space Program.
Intentionally Incorrect Command format: If you try inputting [/tp Marshall at_s] word-for-word in-game, it will give you a syntax error because, even if there is a player with the gamertag 'Marshall' in your game, you're supposed to use an 'at' symbol, which the site removes if you try to save it.
Deliberately focusing on Chase: Despite Zuma being my favorite, I actually decided it was easier to depict Chase as an idiot than Zuma because of how serious he is, and because of that, I exploited that into depicting him as an idiot. Fortunately, he'd never break the law, no matter what. Same applies with Skye panicking out of sync, since she gets concerned so easily, I thought of exploiting it into panic attacks.
