Chapter 7 Meeting the children.
Savannah walked next to Alma while she showed Jake and Alma her home and her children. Alma showed them the twins and Claire, who came running up behind the twins.
"This is Claire," Alma said to Jake and Savannah. While Alma and Jake walked off, Savannah stayed behind, talking to Claire.
"Hey Claire, I'm Savannah," Savannah said to Claire. Claire looked at her and smiled. Jake stopped walking, noticing Savannah wasn't near them. He turned around, seeing his sister talking and laughing with Claire. Alma noticed Jake stopped and turned her attention to him. Alma turned around. Seeing Savannah with Claire, she smiled.
"Savannah has favorite people she wanted to meet, you being one and Fiona and Claire," Jake told Alma before they walked off. Alma showed Jake, Hugh, Millard, Horace, and finally Emma. Alma left Jake with Emma when Fiona came and got her because the policeman and pub landlord came to the house.
When Alma walked back towards the house, Savannah had finally finished Jake's tea and was now sitting on the grass beside her. She saw that Fiona was now with Claire and Savannah. They were sitting on the ground looking at a piece of paper Savannah was showing them. Alma heard them all laughing and walked inside to deal with the policeman and pub landlord. When she came back out, she saw that Savannah, Claire, and Fiona were in the same place they were and still looking at the picture.
"Miss Peregrine, come look at this," Fiona called. Alma went over to them. Savannah handed her the piece of paper and saw her, Claire, and Fiona drawing. Alma smiled.
"It's perfect," Alma told Savannah, handing it back to her.
"Come join us," Savannah said to Alma. Alma sat down and joined in the conversation. Jake looked over with Emma when they heard laughing and saw that Miss Peregrine was now with Fiona, Claire, and Savannah.
When it became close to dinner time, Alma got off the ground.
"Fiona and Claire, why don't you two go play," Alma said to the girls watching them runoff. Alma helped Savannah off the ground, Savannah picked up her empty cup from the ground, and they walked to the house and into the kitchen. Savanna helped Alma cook the dinner. Alma looked at Savannah.
"Jake told me you are pregnant and that your boyfriend left you when you told him. That's why you didn't like me smoking my pipe near you, too, isn't it?" Alma asked Savannah.
"Yes, it is, and he did," Savannah replied. They resumed cooking dinner. When it hit 5:00 on Alma's watch, dinner had finished cooking. Alma and Savannah plated it up and put it all on the dining room table. Savannah sat between Alma and Claire at the table. Jake came in a while later with a pink flower on his jacket.
