Chapter 8 Reset.

Jake sat down, and everyone started eating except for Claire. Savannah noticed.

"Claire, why aren't you eating?" Savannah asked when she did. Alma noticed too.

"She's embarrassed to eat in front of Savannah and Jake," Hugh said. Savannah shared a look with Jake.

"Don't be," Jake said. Claire picked up the leg and put it to the back of her head. Alma winked at her. Savannah watched as the mouth ate all the meat off the leg. Claire put the leg down, so Savannah picked up her napkin and wiped the mouth for Claire. Savannah bent down near Claire.

"That was pretty cool," Savannah whispered to Claire. Everyone watched Savannah whisper to Claire and Claire started laughing. Everyone resumed eating. Enoch was saying mean things, and it made Emma leave the table. The phone rang, so Alma went to answer it while the children, Jake, and Savannah went into the parlor for movie time. Savannah stayed near the door just in case she felt nauseous. Alma stood next to Savannah. They stood shoulder to shoulder.

Olive lit the fire in the parlor while Horace got his monocle on his eye, and the movie started. It started with Horace getting a suit, then went to when Jake was introduced to him. The movie then went to Alma sitting down on the ground with Savannah, Claire, and Fiona, and they were all laughing. It then showed ymbrynes looked in a cage and a woman on a trolley sort of thing, and it ended with Emma and Jake about to kiss.

Alma turned on the light Alma led them into the backyard. Alma saw Claire stay near Savannah, and when they went outside, Claire was standing right next to Savannah again. Alma brought the clock out and started the gramophone. It started playing. Alma nodded her head, and everyone put their masks on.

Run, rabbit, run, rabbit, run, run, run.

Don't give the farmer his fun, fun, fun.

He'll get by without his rabbit pie.

So run, rabbit, run, rabbit, run, run, run.

Alma clicked her pocket watch, making everything go back until the clock went back to September the 2nd. Alma took off her mask and watch the children do the same she then smiled. Alma waited for Jake and Savannah at the door. Jake was about to walk out when Savannah grabbed his arm.

"I'm not going Jake, I will stay here for the night in my condition I could fall over, and I'm not going to risk that," Savannah said to Jake. Emma and Jake walked out while Alma and Savannah watched them go. Alma smiled turned into a frown, but Savannah didn't question her about it. Alma walked away from the door, closed it, and showed Savannah the room she would be staying in for the night.
