This is the second installment of my Reader X Caveira R6 series. If you haven't read the first installment, "The Incident" then I suggest you do so before reading this one.
Nevertheless, enjoy!
-3rd person POV-
By this point, everyone at HQ was used to Ash and Doc's antics of constantly being at each others necks. Six even knew of the rivalry, however, she let it be, as they seemed to put aside their differences whilst on missions. It for sure annoyed the hell out of the other operators, but they all learned to just ignore and not interfere with the arguments.
Today, however, Caveira and Eir (Y/N) were getting seriously ticked off at the current argument.
"GIVE ME MY STIM PISTOL!"
"I DIDN'T TAKE IT!"
"YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE THAT WOULD!"
"PROVE IT!"
"YOU TOOK IT AND WE BOTH KNOW IT!"
"HOW IS THAT PROOF!?"
"JUST GIVE IT BACK TO ME!"
"I DON"T HAVE IT!"
"UUuuuggggghhhhhh" Caveira growled, pressing her head further between Y/N's head and the pillow. "Why won't they shut up!?" Y/N shrugged, looking over the couch at the child-like operators arguing in the hall. He sighed, bringing Caveira in closer to him, attempting to drain out the irritative argument.
"You better give it back NOW, Ash!" Doc growled from the hallway outside the lounge.
"How dense are you? Seriously! I. DON'T. HAVE. IT!!" Ash yelled back. By the sound of their argument, Y/N knew they were getting closer to the lounge. He hoped they wouldn't enter. He just wanted some quiet time with his girlfriend, Caveira, though he knew for a fact that it was pretty much already smashed thanks to Ash and Doc's annoyance.
"Well, someone has it, and I'll bet large sums of money it is you!" Much to Y/N's internal pleading not to, Doc and Ash entered the lounge, arguing nonstop.
"I DON'T HAVE YOUR BLOODY PISTOL!!" Ash yelled loudly. Caveira groaned as they entered the room. At that moment, she had enough.
"QUIET YOU IDIOTAS!!!" Cav yelled, getting up from the couch, taking Y/N, Ash and Doc by surprise.
"I'll hush up if you tell Ash to give me back my stim pistol!" Doc grunted. Ash groaned in annoyance.
"I don't have it! Why do you always assume when something goes bad, it's my fault?" Ash asked, calming down a bit.
"Because it usually is" Doc said. Ash growled before leaping to Doc, but before she could do anything, Y/N and Caveira snapped to action. Y/N held back Ash while Caveira held back Doc.
"Eir, let go of me now!!" Ash growled, swatting at Y/N in hopes to free herself.
"Calm down, and I will. Doc, same goes for you." Y/N spoke. Ash growled, then sighed. Y/N felt her muscles losing tension as she calmed. Caveira felt Doc calm down as well, and let him go. Y/N did the same with Ash.
"Seriously, what is wrong with you two?" Caveira asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Ash took my stim pistol" Doc stated. Ash just groaned.
"I swear I didn't take it. Why would I take it?" she reasoned.
"How would I know the mindset of a thief?" Doc asked. Ash growled, but Y/N held her back before she could pounce. A few seconds went by before Ash calmed down once again, and Y/N let her go.
"You two seriously need to work out your differences" Y/N mentioned. "Do you know how annoying it is to have to listen to you guys yelling all the time?"
"Seriously, idiotas, we're not kids anymore. We're adults. So act like one!" Caveira hissed before returning to the couch. Y/N looked back to Ash and Doc.
"Please just don't argue. Ash, I know you didn't take Doc's pistol, but at least help him find it? And no more yelling. From either of you." Y/N stated. Sighing, Ash nodded.
"I guess. Let's go butthead" Ash said, nudging Doc as they both exited the lounge. Y/N sighed, and flopped onto the couch. Instantly, Caveira cuddled into him, resting her head on his chest.
"I give it five minutes before they try and kill each other again" Caveira sighed.
"The sad part is, you're probably right" Y/N sighed. Y/N picked up the TV remote and turned on the TV, turning the channel to a war movie. He and Caveira settled in, hoping to get a few decent hours of peace.
Halfway through the movie, Caveira sat up. "Babe, what is it?" Y/N asked, pausing the movie.
"You think it's strange how we haven't heard any yelling or arguing from either Ash or Doc within the past hour?" Y/N knit his eyebrows. She had a point: since he sent them off, they heard no yelling or arguing from either of them. Y/N sighed.
"Let's just hope that they solved the problem." he said. Caveira nodded, leaning back into Y/N's shoulder, yawning. "Tired?"
"If you can believe that" Caveria muttered, yawning again. "But I want to finish the movie" Y/N chuckled.
"Alright then." Just before Y/N was able to press play, the two of them heard shouting.
"Ugh, what now!?" Caveira growled. As she did, Ash and Doc walked into the lounge, one again, at each other's necks. This time, literally.
"Woah!" Y/N was about to get up and separate them before they seriously hurt themselves, but Caveira held him back.
"Babe, honestly, just let them be. They'll shut each other up in due time" Caveira smirked.
"We both know that's not how you wanna solve this" Y/N reasoned. Caveira sighed. Even though she loved violence and combat, which made her an excellent interrogator, Ash and Doc were like family to her. Not just to her, but to the entirety of team rainbow. Sighing, she got up, and grabbed Ash, yanking her off of Doc. Y/N held back Doc before he could get back at Ash. This time, the two didn't seem to calm down.
"QUIET!!" Caveira shouted. That got them to shut up. Caveira was breathing pretty heavy, which worried Y/N a bit. "What could possibly be wrong this time!?"
"She still won't give it back!" Doc shouted.
"Because I don't have it!" Ash shouted back.
"We literally looked everywhere! It's nowhere! You took it!" Doc tried breaking free, but Y/N held firm.
"Guys, stop arguing, please. You're giving me a serious migraine" Y/N complained.
"Ditto" Caveira agreed.
"Ash is giving ME a migraine" Doc muttered. Ash growled in response, but made no attempt to pounce. Still, Caveira held strong, just in case.
"Doc, I don't think Ash has it" Y/N told the GIGN medic. "She's very persistent about not having it. Plus, she wouldn't keep a lie or trick going this long" he reasoned.
"First time for everything" Doc muttered. Ash growled again, attempting to break loose of Caveira's hold, alas, with no luck.
"How about both of you go back to your rooms, and leave everyone alone for the rest of the night!" Caveria suggested. Ash sighed, nodding.
"It'll keep me away from Doc" she agreed.
"What about my stim pistol?" Doc asked. Y/N sighed, locking eyes with Caveria. An understanding passed between them, making them both sigh.
"Y/N and I will look for your pistol." Caveira filled in. "Now, just let us be. Stay away from each other, don't be annoying." With that, Caveria cautiously let go of Ash. Y/N did the same with Doc, keeping ready just in case. Neither of the headbutting ops did anything as they both walked off to their rooms. Y/N sighed, flopping onto the couch.
"They're not gonna let up on each other anytime soon" he concluded. Caveira smirked.
"You're just realizing that NOW?" she asked, sitting down next to him. Y/N chuckled at Caveira's response.
"Touche" he sighed. "Also, how the hell will we find Doc's stim pistol?" Caveira smirked.
"When you're trained in interrogation, you learn to notice the little details" she smiled.
"Okay?" Y/N knit his eyebrows. "Not to be a wet blanket, but how does that help?" Caveira chuckled.
"Because, idiota. While the two were fighting non stop over it, Doc failed to realize it was holstered on his leg. Right where it always is." Y/N looked at Caveria with a questionative look.
"Positive?" he asked. Caveira knit her eyebrows.
"100% If you ask me, I believe Doc just wanted to pick a fight with Ash" she sighed.
"Ash did put him in his place at training this morning" Y/N nodded in agreement. "But we need to find a way to get them to stop arguing over everything." Caveira nodded.
"Any Ideas?" she asked. Y/N thought for a moment, before an idea sprang into his head. Slowly, he nodded.
"I have one. But I need IQ's help" he said. Caveira cocked her head, growling slightly. "Babe! Calm down. I love you, and ONLY you!" Y/N promised. Caveira was very defensive of Y/N, and got aggressive when another female operator was so much as waving at him.
"Then why do you need IQ over me?" she asked cautiously.
"Um...because I need someone who knows their way around electronics and circuitry?" Y/N mentioned. Caveira's tone warmed up a bit, but her face was still stern.
"She tries anything, and I mean ANYTHING, get your ass out of there and come to me. Got it?" she commanded. Y/N nodded his head, getting up. "Alright then. Make it quick. I miss you already." Caveira chuckled. Smiling, Y/N took off in search of the team's electrician. Caveira sat back into the couch. 'What will I do with you, Y/N?' she thought.
