Shadowsong padded out of the Warriors' den. Ivypool and his mate, Berryfur, were sharing tongues by the fresh-kill pile and Fernfall and Sootstrike were battle training. Shadowsong stopped just outside the den and sat down. Her jaws gaped in a large yawn. The bright sunlight warmer her black fur. Shadowsong saw cats giving her wary glances as they passed by. Some of the believed that Shadowsong did kill Leopardflower. But deep down Shadowsong knew the truth. She would never kill anyone. Especially not a medicine cat.
Ivypool passed by Shadowsong and glared at her. Shadowsong sighed and started to groom her ruffled fur. The sun was high in the sky by the time she finished. She had thick fur that was hard to groom so it usually took her twice as long to groom herself. Shadowsong stood up and padded over to Fernfall, who was eating a carp with Sootstrike.
"Want to share?" Fernfall asked her. Shadowsong was about to say no when her stomach growled.
"Sure." Shadowsong meowed sheepishly. Fernfall was purring with amusement and Sootstrike was glaring at Shadowsong. Shadowsong glared back at him, then he rolled his eyes. Shadowsong sighed and bit into the carp. Sootstrike really thinks that I killed Leopardflower. Shadowsong thought solemnly. But at least Fernfall doesn't. She trusts me.
