By the time Vegeta managed to stop riding Nevrrest's blast through the darkness of space, all the air had escaped his lungs. The pain in his abdomen shot through his body like a sting as he threw out his arms and pushed out his energy. He came to a full stop and gritted his teeth against his panicked lungs. Saiyans could breathe in extremely thin atmosphere – far on the outer edges of a planet. But this was the void of space. If he didn't find either the fleet or a planet with breathable air soon, he was going to die. He smirked cynically. It seemed that Nevrrest really did have a thing for suffocation after all.
Knowing there was no time to waste, he turned, trying to get ahold of his bearings. To his right, he spotted a gaseous planet orbited by a ring of asteroids. He soon recalled that this was the planet the Earthlings referred to as Saturn. The place was completely inhospitable. But at the very least, he had some idea of where he was. It seemed the Justice had never left Earth's solar system after all. However, he was by Saturn, chances were the fleet was closer than Earth. Besides, he had a battle to finish. But which direction had he come from? He wasn't even sure if Nevrrest had curved the blast or if it had been a straight shot.
One thing he could figure, though, if he had any idea of the way Nevrrest thought, she had pushed him far enough away from the fleet that she was convinced he would never make it back in time. Maybe, if he was lucky, Kakarot would be able to use his Instant Transmission to bring him back. But not only did he not like the idea of piggy-backing, chances were with how oxygen deprived Kakarot's brain currently was, he wouldn't even realize that Vegeta's life was in danger before it was too late. No, there was only one option. He had to push every ounce of his power into speed and book it back to the Hammer before he passed out.
But even as he blazed his way through the stars, he knew there was no chance he'd make it. Nevrrest wouldn't be careless enough to give him a chance to survive. But his stubbornness wouldn't let that stop him. He carried on with every ounce of his power and will, pushing himself to travel faster than he'd ever gone. He could feel Oom'Bagu. It was like the Gregorik was sleeping inside him – a living fusion core buried deep in his chest. He knew as well as Nevrrest had the moment she pushed him out into space that if he expired out here, Oom'Bagu's brain would shut down and he would die. Yet he didn't feel sorry for the Gregorik. As a fellow warrior, he knew the risks and had embraced the possibility of death.
Even when he felt his consciousness begin to fade away, for some reason he didn't feel despair. Perhaps it was the pure clarity of Empathic Master. All he could think about was pushing himself and striving as best he could to survive. The inevitability of failure was irrelevant. No panic swept across his body as his vision blurred and faded. He wasn't troubled as he lost control and felt himself begin to float before fading into darkness completely.
(**Scene Break**)
"Wait…what's going on?" said Goku, opening his eyes and lifting his head. He rolled over on the pile of rubble he'd been resting on, looking off. "Why does Vegeta feel so far away…? I don't sense him being attacked, but it's like he's…sleeping." Goku uneasily got to his feet, his body tensing as he felt something approaching him fast.
(**Scene Break**)
Dr. Leaton stared at the monitor helplessly as Oom'Bagu's brain activity went haywire. He glanced at the news again, the footage showing Nevrrest standing coldly before the hole she had put in the Hammer's hull – the damage now sealed by an emergency shield. Dr. Leaton felt intense emotion seize in his chest and he darted once toward the screen.
"Are you proud?" he demanded desperately, "Are you proud of what you've done?" As if blatantly ignoring him, Nevrrest turned away from the hole and flew off, the video following her movements. Dr. Leaton looked at Oom'Bagu again as the monitoring station flashed even more. He swallowed and tasted his dry mouth. "We're all ruined, aren't we? Everything…the dream is over."
(**Scene Break**)
No, he hadn't faded completely just yet. Vegeta's senses stirred as rubbery arms wrapped around his chest, his stiff, saiyan locks moving slightly as something propelled him through space. It wasn't until he crashed onto the deck that he was startled out of this half awareness, suddenly breathing and choking all at once. He hacked and pounded the floor panels, a glimmering being lying next to him making strange baby-like noises. After a while, he realized this noise was a form of laughter. Vegeta blinked his vision clear, the light catching the golden cape best of all, each ripple of the fabric shining like a star.
"Oh I am so damn proud of myself," Laswe brightly remarked, "I actually did something good for once." Vegeta regarded him and Laswe quickly sat up on his tail. Vegeta mirrored, climbing to his knees. Laswe gave a bittersweet sigh and held out his hand to him. "Prince Laswe of the Ponachi Moons. Pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Prince of All Saiyans."
Vegeta looked at the hand and then at him again. "Am I meant to say 'likewise'?" he grunted.
"Ehh, not really," Laswe awkwardly replied, hiding the hand with shame, "Considering I'm the guy who tried to have you killed after you saved all of us…I'm not expecting much."
"Good," Vegeta pointedly replied, standing up.
"Hey look," Laswe reached out to stop him from leaving, "I don't expect you to forgive me. That's not what this is about. But from one prince to another…I hope this is a step toward paying for what I've done."
Vegeta grunted, looking away. "It's a start." He started to leave again, but this time he stopped himself. "But if you truly wish not to be forever considered my enemy, I demand one thing from you." He looked back at him. "Nevrrest's blood is mine. I will not have my rights interfered with as it was with the creature Un. Nevrrest dies by my hand. Understand?"
Laswe was silent for a moment, his head bowed as a shadow passed over his eyes. He held out his hand again. "Deal. Nevrrest is yours. Neither me nor anyone in the Justice will stop you from taking the kill. And it won't be counted on your record." Their eyes met. "And you can trust me on that."
This time, Vegeta took the hand. "Then I have your word, Ponachi Prince. And I won't forget it."
(**Scene Break**)
Goku was trying to get a lock on Vegeta when Nevrrest's crushing force landed behind him. He turned to face her and received the back of her hand, knocking him off his feet. Nevrrest stood sternly over him, her eyes narrowed. "My patience is wearing thin, Goku," she stated, "I'm done playing with you monkeys."
Goku got back up, already in a defensive stance. "What have you done to Vegeta?" he demanded.
"I granted him his wish," she mocked, fluttering her hand to the side, "I set him free. And by that, I mean I blasted him so far across this star system that even with his current speed he'll never make it back in time." Her tail whipped and smacked the ground, sending debris flying. "Before he loses consciousness and dies, that is. Or, just as accurately, before I finish you off." Goku grunted angrily and immediately lifted his hand towards his forehead. Nevrrest's tail whipped again and lashed around his wrist. Goku growled and strained against her. "Go ahead and use your Instant Transmission. We'll go together and I'll kill him as soon as we arrive. You know you can't stop me! I told you, Son Goku, I can't be stopped!"
Just as Goku's locks started to flutter upward, they both sensed something approaching fast. Goku gasped and smiled with relief. "Vegeta!"
Nevrrest snarled, her eyes twitching and filled with red veins "LASWE!"
"Sorry to bother you, but you dropped this," Laswe smugly replied, holding out his arms toward Vegeta.
"Hmph," Vegeta grunted, looking past Nevrrest, "Kakarot, what do you think you're doing?"
"I—huh?" Goku blinked.
"As I recall, my instructions to you were to rest and recover your strength," he flatly replied, "Seeing you back on your feet is inexcusable, Kakarot. I told you I could handle this on my own."
"Oh. Right," Goku laughed with admittance, looking even more relieved and happy to see him, "Sorry, Vegeta. I guess I let myself worry too much." He pressed his lips into a thin, warm smile. "I should have known you'd be just fine without my help."
"KrrrrrRRRRR!" Nevrrest seethed, throwing Goku to the ground and turning her full attention on Vegeta and Laswe, "How dare you interfere again, Laswe?! Krrrr, I should have known you'd fly into space and save him!"
"Yeah, I gotta agree," Laswe snarked back, a sassy vibration entering his buzzing wings, "You really should have."
Goku pushed himself up with another insufferably happy expression. "Laswe? You saved him? But how?"
Laswe produced one of his baby-noise laughs. "Well it was easy for me, monkey boy. Ponachi don't have lungs! We don't need to breathe. All we got is a voice sack."
"Yes," Nevrrest hissed, seizing Laswe's neck in her fist so hard that if he'd had bones they would have broken, "And if you squeeze him right here, he can't talk." Laswe soundlessly flailed as she lifted him up to her face. "But maybe that isn't enough. Maybe I need a more absolute solution to end your meddling."
"Nevrrest, you wouldn't!" Goku cried with anger.
"Why not?" she coldly replied, "After all, I can just wish him back with the dragon balls. He won't even remember who killed him after I make my wishes."
"Oh dear," Vegeta coyly cut in, his arms casually folded, "Is that how you think the dragon balls work?"
Nevrrest's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
(**Scene Break**)
"Huh! Dragon balls?" Sepis piped, leaning forward in his chair, "Why are they talking about the dragon balls? What is she saying about Laswe?"
"You seem to think that the dragon balls are the answer to all you problems," Vegeta stated, his cropped tail flapping, "But the truth is they are limited."
"I'm aware," Nevrrest flatly replied, "Two wishes per cycle."
Vegeta chuckled. "I'm afraid it's not that simple." He held up a finger. "One second chance at life. And it has to be an unnatural death. That's all you get."
"Nonsense," she snapped, "You told me that you were brought back to life twice."
"By different sets of dragon balls, yes." Nevrrest's gaze stiffened. "Ones that only a select few know how to access. Perhaps if you spent a lifetime searching you might discover them." He chuckled again. "But I doubt it."
Nevrrest looked at Laswe, who glared back at her. She then bent her head. "Tsk, tsk, tsk…is that meant to scare me, Vegeta? This new information can only help me."
"No, Nevrrest, don't you understand?" Goku protested, "If anyone in the fleet was brought back to life before and they die now, they won't be coming back!"
"Yes, I understand that!" she snapped, "And that is troubling. But at the same time…it means the two of you have also run out of extra lives." She hissed and sneered. "I spent so much time worrying about you bringing Vegeta back…" Her talons snap out. "Now when I kill you both, I know it will be for good!"
"Yes, you are very good at blatantly ignoring things that could distract you from your goal," Vegeta sarcastically complimented, "Forget that you might murder even more members of your fleet—"
"Stop trying to get under my skin!" she shouted, thrashing Laswe.
Vegeta's lips pressed in a wide, flat smile. "Is it working?"
Sepis's antennae vibrated wildly as he watched, holding his head. It started to dawn on him why Nevrrest had been so calm this whole time. She was planning to use the dragon balls to fix everything. But now that she knew they might not fix everything, she was still okay with it? Why?
"Fool," Nevrrest spat back, "I will not back down over a possibility." She looked at Laswe. "Now a certainty…that is another matter entirely." She threw Laswe and the prince squawked as he bounced and landed next to Goku in the rubble. She dusted her hands off. "But rest assured. I will bring back to life everyone who can be. And I will erase the memory of you, Kakarot, these events, and the entire saiyan race from the stars!"
Sepis squeaked with horror, staring at the screen, his chest throbbing like his heart was going to erupt. Without even thinking, Sepis slapped his hand over his wristband.
(**Scene Break**)
Nevrrest froze as a sound and light came from her fusion band. She glared a warning at her foes and touched it. "Sepis?"
"Nevrrest, how could you?!" the projection screamed at her.
"Uh," she blinked, "Sepis, what are you talking about?"
"I finally understood what you meant about never having to think about any of this again," he continued to pipe, "You're planning to use the dragon balls to erase everyone's memories!"
Nevrrest's brow narrowed. "How do you know—"
"What makes you think I want to forget, Nevrrest?!" he cried even louder, "All those painful memories we shared…? I don't want to forget about that! I don't know who we'd be without them! And I don't want to forget about Goku…like it or not, Nevrrest, Goku is my friend! I don't even want to forget about Vegeta!" Nevrrest's beak turned pale. "I don't want to forget how he saved me. How that shook me up…"
"Sepis," Nevrrest snarled deep in her throat, glaring at Vegeta, Goku, and Laswe like death itself, "How do you know all this?"
Sepis sighed heavily, shutting his eyes. "You're being broadcasted on Justice News."
"What?!" she cried, her gaze immediately focusing on Laswe.
"Hey, I didn't authorize that," Laswe held up his hands. He smirked. "Well, the recording part I did. But putting you on the news? Must have been Oom'Bagu or something."
Nevrrest gripped her band. "Sepis…how long have you been watching?"
"What does that matter?"
"Just answer the question, Sepis!" she snapped.
"I…I saw you fighting Vegeta."
She sighed heavily through her nostrils. "Sepis, I want you to shut it down. I'm surprised at you for not having done so already."
"I…" He wrung his hands nervously, looking down. "I didn't think we had anything left to hide."
"People in power always have something to hide!" she shouted, making the Arlian flinch, "Now shut it down! I need to focus on this fight."
"I…yes." The channel closed.
"So…what?" Laswe prompted as she lowered her arm, "You can't even get along with Sepis now?"
Nevrrest pointed two fingers at Laswe and a band of energy shot out, pinning Laswe to the wall by the neck. "Just because I can't kill you doesn't mean I can't shut you up."
"If you're done making phone calls," Vegeta stated, widening his stance, "We have a battle to finish."
Nevrrest closed her eyes and chuckled warmly, her plume rising as her shoulders shifted – relaxed. "Battle is a…generous word." Her eyes snapped open and the next second spit and blood flew from Vegeta's mouth as her fist burrowed deep into his stomach, sending him crashing back into the bowels of the mechanical.
(**Scene Break**)
Sepis felt ashamed and angry at the same time. He couldn't believe he'd yelled at Nevrrest like that in the middle of her fight, but he couldn't believe he'd backed down either. He thought he'd been feeling lost and confused all day, but now was worse than ever. Nevrrest erasing his memories? That wasn't a decision she got to make! But if it really came down to it, would he stop her? Did he even have what it took to make choices on his own?
"Fine thing to wonder when you're immediately obeying her," he muttered to himself, opening up the streaming feed to Justice News on his computer, "Oh friend Nevrrest, we used to be able to just talk about these things…but there's no room for that as long as we're in this, is there?"
What should have been a short, simple action before even further brooding became something more. Sepis blinked at the security lock on the feed, wondering why his command key hadn't removed it.
"An encryption?" he finally noticed, "I guess they expected me to shut it down. This will take a minute…" But it didn't. Several minutes passed and the feed was still streaming on Justice News. Sepis's digits repeatedly drummed the desk, his frustration building as more and more time passed. But then the hammer dropped and Sepis felt his insides grow cold. "Cannibalized. Someone's cannibalized my own encryption! And the way they did it…it's almost…" His hands squeezed each other. "Hateful." He looked at the feed again as Nevrrest flew at Vegeta, blazing red and the prince threw a gatling gun's worth of energy bolt at her, his eyes intense like the fires of hell. "That's what this all really is…isn't it?
"Just…hate."
(**Scene Break**)
Goku's eyes opened and once again he glanced penitently to the side. Fortunately, Laswe had finally calmed down and simply hung against the wall with his arms folded. Goku wanted to help him, but he seemed alright for now. Once he'd recovered enough of his strength, he'd certainly be able to help him down. But for now, his attention was consumed by two things – preparing himself to fight again and keeping his senses trained on Vegeta.
He could tell that his fellow warrior was holding out against Nevrrest, but not by much. She was intelligent, super-charged, and with every waking moment growing more ruthless. Despite Vegeta's wishes, Goku was worried. She was a foe bent entirely on death and destruction with no desire to entertain herself or feed her ego. If she found another opportunity to go for the kill, she would take it without even a second's hesitation. It was a dangerous combination that Goku loathed to risk somebody else's life against.
But then he remembered that look in Vegeta's eyes. You lost your chance with concern for me. Don't make that mistake again.
"He was right," Goku said to himself, "I did let Buu break my fighting spirit." He lowered his brow and lifted a hand off the rubble, tightening it into a fist. "But I won't let that happen again! I'll do it right this time. Nevrrest…you're not going to win!"
(**Scene Break**)
The metal plates broke like waves as Vegeta's crashing form slide across it. He gritted his teeth and cringed with pain, squinting as Nevrrest reappeared. "Damn," he muttered, "She really isn't fooling anymore."
As if in answer, Nevrrest landed next to him, planting a foot on his chest. Vegeta cried out as her talons sunk in through the fabric of his shirt into his flesh, her eyes intense as she gradually dragged her talons down the length of his torso, ripping cloth and skin alike. Blood and pain erupted from the grooves and Vegeta screamed, his eyes flashing and narrowing as he suddenly seized her ankle.
"No," he hissed, "I know what you're trying to do. And I won't have it!" Heaving with all his strength, he pushed himself up and hurled her through the wall, sparks and shielding lighting up the darkness. She soon reappeared, blasting open and exiting through another hole, her expression even darker than before. "You're not going to take me apart, Nevrrest." He gripped the tattered corner of his ruined prison top and ripped it off, throwing it aside. It floated down and landed between them like a line drawn in the sand. "Because this battle is far from over." He pointed his palm at her, thumb tucked in. "And I haven't even started!"
The wide spread blast was countered by a whipping blast from Nevrrest's tail. The two powers exploded and Vegeta went flying, landing tangled in some wires. Nevrrest flew at him, but paused as he laughed loudly. "A simple counter? You must be joking." He grinned aggressively at her. "Whatever happened to being the one who answers attack with annihilation? Or did the failure of yet another attempt of yours to kill me throw you off your game…?"
Her plume fanned and her brow lowered, pointing two spread fingers at him. Vegeta dodged all three blasts before returning an onslaught of his own. Nevrrest blocked the bolts with her forearms and returned several more finger blasts. Vegeta back-flipped through them before flying at her. Her tail caught him by the leg before he reached her, the saiyan crying out as she slammed him repeatedly against the ground. His foot stopped the last blow, bracing against the ground and pulling back against her tail.
"I said no!" he shouted before turning her head sideways with a punch, "No more of your damn tactics! This time, the battle is mine!" He conjured a blast right against her chest, forcing her to put everything into defense before she was blown back. Vegeta panted and then chuckled. "Get the picture?"
(**Scene Break**)
Like a chain reaction, Goku suddenly felt strength in his legs and stood, holding up his fists excitedly. "He's doing it, Laswe!" he declared, glancing happily at the pinned ponachi, "He's holding out against Nevrrest! Alright! I better get into gear soon so I can join him!" Goku flexed and stretched, moving this way and that before relaxing again, closing his eyes. "Okay. Gotta focus on gathering my energy."
Laswe watched with twitching form as Goku gently glowed with blue light. His eyes repeatedly shifted from Goku to where he could sense the battle happening, feeling a growing sense of excitement. No, it was more than that. It was a feeling that had been growing inside him since the moment he had seen the Room – an aching hunger almost. He wanted to see Nevrrest brought down. He wanted not only for it to happen, but to witness it. And the hope eradiating from Goku fed into this feeling, his gaze intense on the saiyan.
If Goku sensed Laswe's dark thoughts, he showed no sign of it. He was completely calm as the energy around him grew stronger and stronger. Laswe could feel it building inside the warrior, like a volcano waiting to erupt. Goku's eyes snapped open and his head fell back, screaming upwards as the explosion happened, yellow energy swirling around him like a vortex. It shot upward, the ceiling cracking as it impacted – his hair turned stiff and golden and his eyes blazing green. Laswe braced himself as Goku's power increased at an almost alarming rate, the ship shaking violently just as it had before. Lightning crackled around the saiyan's body and his hair grew out long and wild.
"Now that's more like it," Goku chuckled, flexing a hand before him. He spread his stance and tensed. "Alright! Time to win this!" Just then, Laswe started to clap wildly. "Huh?" Goku blinked and looked at him. "What are you doing, Laswe? Are you trying to cheer me on?" Laswe slapped the wall spastically and then pointed at his throat. "Oh!" He rubbed at his head with embarrassment. "Sorry, I nearly forgot." He cut his hand through the air and the energy band over Laswe's neck snapped.
"Ack! You moron," said Laswe, rubbing at his throat, "What, do I have to make monkey noises to communicate with you?" Goku laughed uneasily. "Well, what are you waiting for now?! Go get Nevrrest!"
"Right," Goku agreed and then paused, "But first."
"Eh?"
Goku reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny sprout wrapped in cloth. "This is Misado."
"THAT'S WHAT?!" Laswe shrieked, turning pink and blue.
"Misado," he answered, "I don't think it's safe anymore to keep her with me while I fight. So could you hold onto her instead?"
"I…uh-b-b-b-b-yeah, sure," Laswe stuttered, taking the pouch and plant fretfully into his hands.
Goku gave him a thumb's up. "Don't worry. Vegeta and I got this."
"Right…" Laswe continued to stammer, staring at the little plant as Goku rocketed off.
(**Scene Break**)
Even though she had yet to say a single word, Vegeta could feel Nevrrest's frustration building and it filled him with delight. It was the kind of joy and excitement that Vegeta knew would always make him bad, no matter what Kakarot or anyone else said. He loved watching his opponent suffer – fear in their eyes, swamped by failure, consumed by helpless rage. It was part of who he was and that would never change. Never. Even though he wasn't entirely on top in this fight, the mere fact that he was causing Nevrrest grief was enough to make him happy.
And then it happened. He could feel Kakarot heading towards him. Nevrrest gnashed her beak and growled. "Two against one, Vegeta?" she finally spoke, "That hardly seems like your type of fight."
"It's not," Vegeta agreed. He clenched a fist at her. "But if it means giving me the opportunity to obliterate you, I'll gladly make that sacrifice."
Nevrrest just snarled again a ball of golden light shot over head and landed next to Vegeta, manifested as Goku. "Thanks for the rest, Vegeta," said the Super Saiyan Three, "I hope I didn't take too long."
"Hmph," Vegeta chuckled, "Hardly. I could have kept waiting much longer for you, Kakarot."
"That's good to hear." He eyeballed Nevrrest. "Are you ready to do this?"
"Extremely," Vegeta assured, standing shoulder to shoulder with Goku in a fighter's stance, "But there's one thing I want to clear."
"Yeah, sure, what is it?"
"The one who gets to finish this battle is me," he sternly told him, "I'll let you help burn up that stolen energy she's using, but after that she's mine to deal with."
Goku gave him a sideways glance. "And once you win, you're going to kill her?"
"Of course."
Goku was silent for a moment before looking ahead again. "Alright. That's fine with me."
Vegeta flicked his eyes at him with surprise. "Really?"
"Sure. I told you when this all started that this was your mess to clean up," Goku simply replied, "I'm just here to help out."
Vegeta studied him skeptically, but eventually nodded. "Alright. I have your word on that."
"And you're all right with this too, Kakarot?" Nevrrest snapped, scuffing her foot talons against the floor aggressively, "Coming at me in force?"
"No, not normally," Goku admitted, "Vegeta and I like to fight our own battles. But the whole reason I came here was to help Vegeta – so that's what I'm going to do!"
Vegeta chuckled deep in his throat. "My, Nevrrest," he remarked, "If I didn't know better, I'd say you were getting nervous."
Her talons snapped out like knives. "Come at me with whatever you like, monkeys."
Without hesitation, the three warriors met, every aspect of their personal arsenals at the ready. Like a boat caught in the middle of a storm, the Hammer shook and thrashed under the shockwave of these colliding forces. Everyone onboard felt it, from Sepis clinging to his desk to Laswe shielding Misado in his hands. Vegeta especially felt it – in his fists as they connected with Nevrrest's armored body. He had to admit, with Kakarot tag teaming with him, he was getting in a lot more hits. But no matter how many times he struck her, Vegeta knew that he wouldn't be able to fully enjoy himself until they had somehow removed her stolen power. There was nothing he wanted more than to defeat her on the pure, untampered playing field of warrior's strength against strength.
Still, it was impressive she was fighting them both at once. That took more than just strength to manage. Like a true master, Nevrrest met their every attack with conviction. Her torso bent back to dodge like a dancer. Her limbs cracked like whips to attack. Her energy exploded like fireworks, wild and unpredictable. Despite all his contempt for her, Vegeta had to admit there was something valiant in the way she fought. And if he thought that of her, no doubt Kakarot credited her twofold. He just hoped that wouldn't prevent the damn fool from acting when the time came.
And then a moment arrived when Goku attacked from above, Vegeta from below, and Nevrrest acted to thwart them entirely. Nevrrest's tail propelled Vegeta off course and her right arm drove Goku forward, the two saiyans hitting each other so hard that there was an explosion of energy.
"Damn it, Kakarot!" Vegeta shouted at him, shaking a fist, "I should have known you'd screw this up!"
"Jeez, what are you always blaming me for?" Goku growled and whined.
"Just hurry up and—!" Blood flew from his mouth as Nevrrest landed on his back, driving him into a crater.
"Vegeta!" Goku cried.
"Just hurry up and do something already!" Vegeta yelled, fighting on his back whilst Nevrrest drove her beak down at him.
"Okay, okay! Just hold on!" Goku shouted back. He positioned himself, his hands moving to the side of his hip, blue light gathering in his grasp. "A Full Power Kamehameha should do the trick. I just hope it doesn't miss. But just in case…" The blue light orbited itself as it grew more and more intense. "I'll aim it where I can't sense any people!" He positioned himself at the right angle, his thickened brow narrowed. "KAA…MEEE…HAAA…MEEE…!"
Nevrrest released her grip on Vegeta's hair, her eyes wide. "No, wait, Kakarot!" she suddenly shouted, pushing out a hand towards him, "DON'T!"
"HAAAAAAA!"
The blue light of the oncoming wave lit Nevrrest's form, standing still as Vegeta leapt far away. Her beak clenched with rage and at the last second, she leapt out of the way. The enormous beam burrowed its way into the wall. A couple seconds passed and there was an enormous roar, like a monster had awoken. A kick and a pop and fire exploded out the backside of the Hammer, the entire ship spinning like a top wildly away from the rest of the fleet.
The artificial gravity died and the three warriors were sent bouncing off the walls, debris floating into the air with them and flung around like bullets. Red lights flashed all around and a siren sounded.
"Oh no!" Goku cried as he looked all around, "What's going on?! What's happening?!"
Nevrrest screeched and latched both hands onto his shoulders, the two of them spinning through the air while Vegeta bounced off another wall. "Idiot!" she screamed in his face, "Do you have any idea what you've done?! In your desperate attempts to be a hero, you just obliterated the ship's propulsion and orbital systems!"
"Dammit!" Vegeta screamed, punching through a large piece of debris.
"Wait, what does that mean?!" Goku protested.
Nevrrest slapped him, her entire plume erect. "Fool! It means this ship is going down!"
