Izuku awoke in a dimly lit hallway. As he sat up he took in the environment. There were various torches on the walls and giant paintings of men and monsters. He stood up and as soon as he did, he heard footsteps. They seemed to come from in front of him, but he was startled to hear a voice from behind him.
"My, my, it's been a while since we've had a visitor like you here." Izuku nearly jumped out of his skin before turning around and assuming a fighting stance. "Well, now, there's no need to be so hostile." Izuku took in the appearance of the...creature in front of him. It had a strangely humanoid white body with rabbit-like ears and a strangely shaped face that had a slit in it that Izuku couldn't figure out whether it was a mouth or an eye socket. He was wearing blue garments of some kind and had a staff with a blue orb on each end.
"Who are you?" Izuku asked him.
"I am Headon. The guardian of the first floor of the tower."
"Tower? What tower?"
"You don't know? Hmm. What is your name, boy?"
"Izuku Midoriya."
"What a difficult name to say. I will call you Deku, boy."
"How do you know that name?" Deku asked, remembering the good and bad experiences with that name.
"I simply came up with it."
"Where am I? What is this tower?" Headon looked thoughtful, but finally said,
"All answers are up there." and he pointed his staff upward. "That's all
I can tell you. If you want to find out where you are, or how to get back to where you were, head up. Wealth, immortality, power, magical abilities. All the truth, glory, and happiness in the world are all up there."
"I don't want any of that! I need to get back to where I was, it's urgent!" Deku said.
"You may go back out the door, but I cannot guarantee you will go back where you came from. Especially considering you don't even know what the tower is." Deku looked at Headon, before speaking.
"Fine. If all I need to do is climb some stupid tower, I'll do it." Headon smirked.
"Very well. Let's do a test to see if you are qualified to go up the tower."
"Qualified?"
"In this tower, everytime you go up a floor, you must take a test to go to the next floor. The administrators and rulers of each floor decide the tests. In other words, Mr. Deku, to go to the next floor, you must pass my test." Headon tapped his staff against an object shrouded in darkness. Suddenly, a cage illuminated. The water inside the cage seemingly glowed. Deku looked in awe of this, and in fear of the giant serpent-like monster that swam in the water, eyeing him. "'The ball' is a simple test. That human sized sphere you see in there is the ball, and you must destroy it. It is designed to 'pop' when hit hard enough."
"And the monster, what's that about?"
"He is a white armored eel, a big fish that lives in the shinsu flowing through the tower. Usually he is of mild temperament, however, this time of year is his spawning season and he hasn't eaten anything for months." Headon turned back to Deku. "Are you afraid of him?" Deku didn't say a word. "Too bad. If you are afraid-" Deku then ran into the cage. Headon smirked. "Welcome to the tower, Mr. Deku." Deku stopped in front of the monster, analyzing the situation.
'Clearly I can't attack the eel, it has some tough armor. I also can't run away from it to the ball, cause it seems fast. Think! What can I do to stop the eel long enough for me to get to the ball? Oh. Oh….that seems about right.' Once he snapped back to reality, the eel was already charging him. He stood his ground, and was eaten by the eel. Inside the eel's mouth, he used his power. "One for all: Full cowling 30 percent!" He punched the top of the eel's mouth, and it spit him up, slamming him onto the ground. He struggled to get up, and he made his way to the ball. As the eel stirred, he made it to the ball. He charged up one for all as the eel got back up. He noticed this out of the corner of his eye, so he frantically threw an attack. "One for all one hundred percent! Smash!" he felt his hand break as he smashed through the ball. He was then taken up by a rainbow light, just as the eel was about to eat him again. Headon was shocked.
"Well this is turning out to be interesting." He said, grabbing his chin.
