Chapter 11: Echowing
Echowing opened his eyes and looked around. He was in a hard mesh cage, in some sort of twoleg den. Where am I? He asked himself. He smelled fear scent. But it was mixed with something else, it was his clanmates' scents! Echowing looked around, trying to see his clanmates. There was a sleeping cat in the mesh cage next to him, and a cat that was grooming itself in the other one next to him.
"Excuse me," Echowing meowed. The cat who was grooming itself stopped with its tongue on its tail.
"Yes?" It asked.
"Where are we?" Echowing asked.
The cat shrugged. "Who cares? They give us free food."
Echowing turned around and saw a container with some hard pellets in it. What is that? Echowing thought, recoiling in disgust.
"Echowing!" A voice meowed. Echowing looked below him and saw Emberclaw staring at him with desperate eyes.
"Emberclaw?" Echowing asked. "Do you know where everyone else is?"
"They're all here." Emberclaw meowed, fear in his eyes.
"All of ThunderClan?" Echowing asked. Emberclaw nodded.
"Hi Echowing!" A cheery voice meowed. Echowing turned around and saw Wrenkit with the hard pellets in her mouth.
"Wrenkit? Wow, the twolegs really did take all of us." Echowing meowed.
"Echowing, Sagestar isn't here." Emberclaw meowed. Echowing turned back to the warrior.
"I hope she's not dead…" Echowing fretted.
"We'd all be better off if she was." A familiar voice growled. Rainstorm was in the cage next to Emberclaw. She was glaring at one of the twoleg den walls. "I mean, she ran and hid in her den when the buzzing noise came. Sagestar is a coward. We'd be better off having you as our leader."
Echowing was taken aback. "B-but Sagestar is a good leader!" He meowed. Emberclaw shook his head.
"No, she wasn't." Emberclaw meowed. "Rainstorm is right. And you are our leader now, assuming Sagestar is dead."
Echowing stared at his paws. Am I ready to lead these cats, assuming that we get out of here?
Then Echowing's gaze hardened. Of course I am, I'm a warrior. And warriors fight to the death for their clan.
Echowing padded to the back of his cage, glaring at the blocked exit to his cage. He ran toward it, and then ran into it. The cage shook, and the door hadn't opened.
"You're never going to get out of here." A grumpy voice meowed. Echowing turned to look at the cat who was sleeping.
Echowing snorted. "How do you know?" He asked.
"I've tried. Many times." The cat meowed. The cat turned to show Echowing his shoulder. The fur was gone on one patch and there were red lines on it.
"Well, lots of cats are different." Echowing meowed. "I will not stay trapped in here."
Brightkit's PoV:
Brightkit glanced around the camp. Sagestar laid in the middle, blood pooling around her. Brightkit was hiding in the nursery from a black cat with orange eyes that had been in the camp a few moments ago. Brightkit had seen her leader be murdered, and she had seen who had done it. The cat was a black cat with eyes that changed color. Once Sagestar was dead, the cat had vanished. I think it's okay to come out now.
Brightkit gingerly stepped outside of the nursery. A large tree lay in the middle of it, crushing the Warriors' and Apprentices' dens. The Elders' den was on the same side as the Nursery and Leader's den, so they had stayed safe. Brightkit looked around and saw the same black cat creeping toward her.
"Who are you?" She asked, she noticed that her own paws were shaking with fear, but she didn't let the cat know that she was scared.
"I'm your worst nightmare." The cat meowed with a devilish grin. Brightkit whipped around, preparing to run, but she felt claws on her tail, keeping her in place. She felt claws score her back, and let out a shriek of pain. She turned around, unsheathed her claws, and slashed the cat across its nose. The cat let out an angry growl and slashed their claws on Brightkit's throat. She fell to the ground, blood bubbling out of the gashes in her throat. Then there was darkness.

WarriorsFanFiction11111111111111: That is actually a very good explanation. I did not think of that when I wrote chapter 10 lol. And yes, CURSE THE SILENT KILLER!
MorningMist: Thanks!
