Chapter 2
Mildred was back home after being in the hospital for 3 weeks. She had a cast on her leg and arm and pain killers when she is in pain, but her soulmate made the cream for her bruising that she got from the two nurses that she didn't know were witches. On this morning Mildred was in her wheelchair looking out the window when she saw some people out on broomsticks, she got her mother to push her outside for fresh air and then all of a sudden she felt someone crash into her making her fall from her chair she cried out in pain. The person quickly got her up and helped her being careful of her arm in the cast.
Mildred looked up at the person who crashed into her and just looked at her and then said, "Hi, I'm Mildred Hubble, and you are?" The person looked at her and said, "I'm Maud Spellbody." Maud helped her back into her wheelchair and pushed her back inside, then out the door to go outside the building.
When they got there, Maud helped her onto ber broomstick and folding up the wheelchair. After Mildred showed her what to do, they made sure to put Mildred backpack on her for her pain killers and the cream. They went to Cackles when they flew over some teacher both Mildred and Hecate felt a tingle where their soulmate's names were and knew they were finally going to meet one another.
Mildred and Maud were descending when Maud had grabbed the backpack and wheelchair and tossed them on the grass right before they both landed in the pond outside the gate. When Hecate got there, Maud helped Mildred out of the water, being careful of her casts and healing ribs, letting her put all her weight on her.
She got her to the dry grass while she got her wheelchair and her broom. Maud saw the teacher. She put her hand to her forehead and said, "Well met." Mildred did the same thing when Hecate said, "I am Miss Hardbroom deputy headmistress, and you are?" Feeling the teacher looking at them, they said, "Maud Spellbody and Mildred Hubble." When Hecate looked up, hearing the name Mildred she looked at the girl sitting on the ground, and when she saw the casts on her leg and arm, she knew this was her soulmate.
Hecate sent Maud off to see the tour and then helped Mildred with her wheelchair. When she lifted Mildred, they each felt a tingle. It was like electricity coursing through her veins. Mildred smiled while Hecate put Mildred in her chair, then she picked up Mildred's backpack from the ground and put it in the back of the wheelchair. Hecate put a hand on Mildred's cheek and smiled when Mildred leaned into it. Hecate transferred Mildred inside so that she could see the tour too. Hecate stayed with her the entire day, even helping Mildred with her test when she found out that Mildred was the first in her family to have magic.
Ada and the other teachers were surprised to see Hecate pushing a girl in a wheelchair, and the teachers were surprised to see both of them smiling and talking only when no one was looking and when no one was around. They all got a shock when they heard a sound coming from the backpack. They saw Mildred reach into the backpack and pulled out her pain killer tablets and a bottle of water. They watched as she swallowed them and also when she put them back. Hecate went over to the teachers and Ada and said, "Meet Mildred Hubble." They all looked at the girl in shock and remembered seeing her name on Hecate's wrist.
The teachers all introduced themselves to Mildred and said, "I'm Miss Cackle headmistress, Miss Drill PE, and flying teacher, Miss Bat chanting and history teacher, Miss Gullet health and safety and spell science teacher, and Miss Tapioca head cook." Hecate and Ada were both feeling bad vibes coming from Miss Gullet that made Hecate put her hand on Mildred's left shoulder, the door opened, and in came Ada's twin sister Agatha and it made all of the teachers minus Miss Gullet stand in front of Mildred and Hecate.
When Hecate saw Agatha come in, she quickly transferred herself and Mildred from the staff room. Before Agatha saw either of them, they ended up in the empty potions classroom where they just sat down and talked. When the other teachers came in, they talked with them too. When it came to the end of the day, Ada and Agatha were going to do a witches duel. Hecate made sure that Mildred was behind the protection barrier before they started. Everyone saw Agatha win and turn Ada into a snail, but Mildred used some of her strength that she had and went out of the barrier when Agatha's back was towards her.
Mildred went up to where the soup was and got the cat next to it to push it over to Agatha, and the cat did the job, and Mildred found out that it was an obedience spell and told Agatha to lose the duel and turn Ada back into herself. She then made her way over to Hecate, who saw her but gave her a small smile and watched as Ada turned back into herself.
Ada took away Agatha's powers and got their mother to come and get her to go home. Ada summoned Mildred's mother, but before either Ada or Hecate could talk, Mildred said: "Mum, I found her I found my soulmate." Pointing out Hecate to her mother, who looked at her and just nodded while hugging Mildred.
Julie let Mildred stay, and Ada transferred her away and let the teachers, minus Miss Gullet, who was busy, into her office but then they all saw Mildred looking uncomfortable and holding her left side. Ada went over to her and said, "Mildred, are you alright?" Mildred noticed everyone looking, so she just said, "My side is a bit sore." Hecate and Miss Drill helped Mildred out of the chair and hold her up. And Hecate looked at her side then got the cream out after Mildred telling her where it was, but it gently on her bruised side, then helped her sit back down, then gave her the pain killers so she wouldn't be sore.
Hecate took Mildred home on her broomstick, and when they got there, Julie helped Mildred to bed and wanted to talk to Hecate in the kitchen. They sat in silence until Hecate said, "Are you okay with me being Mildred's soulmate?" Julie looked at Hecate and said, "All I want is Mildred to be happy. If that means being with you makes her happy, then I'm alright with you being her soulmate." Hecate nodded her head at Julie and was about to leave when Julie said, "Mildred can go to your school. Just look out for her for me, please." Hecate looked at her and said, "I will." And then she left and went home.
