In the next room, the three waited for the other regulars to get there. A less than substantial number of the regulars from the previous room made it to this one before the doors closed. A girl seemingly appeared out of nowhere. She had hair and clothing that made her look vaguely like a bumblebee.
"Hi! I'm the test guide, Yellowy! This next test will be on a first come first serve basis. It will be conducted one team after the other. For the remaining teams, please wait and follow this robot's instructions." A robot colored similarly to Yellowy, but with red arms and legs, and a red head. The first team was let in by the robot, and the door closed behind them.
"So, what do you think this test will be?" Asked Keiji.
"I dunno." Uraraka said, before tearing up.
"Hey, what's wrong?" asked Deku.
"I just...Haven't had much time to process this whole thing…" She wiped the tears from her eyes. "But I'll be fine. I trained, I can do this much at least."
"We weren't trained for this." Deku lamented.
"Wait, you guys didn't want to come to the tower?" Keiji asked.
"Well, no…" Deku started, before he was interrupted by a scream.
"Next team, please!" Yellowy said, cheerfully. The next team reluctantly went through the door.
"This seems...sketchy…" Keiji said.
"More like dangerous."
"Hey, guys." Someone whispered to the trio. They turned around to see what looked like a balloon man. "Why the long faces?"
"Well, This test seems pretty dangerous." Keiji said.
"Next team please." Yellowy said.
"That was fast." Uraraka pointed out.
"Plus there was no scream. They must have passed." Deku said.
"I just wanted to tell you guys that I've figured out the secret of this test." The balloon man said.
"How?" they asked.
"It's very simple. The answer is time. Think about it. The first team went in and were in there for about five minutes, give or take. They screamed, and most likely failed the test. The next one, how long would you say they were in there? One, maybe two minutes? So, logically, it seems whatever happens in there, you need to get it done within five minutes."
"Well, we'll take that under advisement, but I think it's too soon to make a call like that." Keiji said. "Plus it seems like you're just using us to test your theory." The balloon man grinned, seemingly proving Keiji's point. A scream came from the room.
"Next team please." Said Yellowy.
"That's us." Said Deku. The trio walked into the next room and the door closed behind them. A figure sat in the middle of the room. Behind them were twelve doors. Above the two middle doors was a clock.
"Nice to meet you, regulars." The feminine figure said with a clearly male voice. "I am Yuhan, your next test administrator. I'm usually just a test director on Evankell's floor, but this time I will be directly in charge of the test. This time, the test is simple. Do you see the doors behind me? Find the real door and open it. If you do so, you will pass the test. However, if you don't find the real door in ten minutes and give up, you'll fail, and if you open a wrong door within ten minutes, you'll die." The trio was visibly shaken by this information. "Well, then. The test begins."
"Wait, wait a minute, what are the clues, are we just supposed to pick a door randomly? We need more to go on!" Keiji complained.
"There are no more hints." Yuhan said. Deku began his analysis.
'Twelve doors...ten minutes...He said there aren't any more hints, but I wasn't aware there were any hints to begin with. Maybe…' He remembered what the balloon man said. 'Five minutes. It could be nothing, but…' He checked the clock on the wall to see it moving unreasonably fast. "Uraraka, open your pocket."
"Oh, uh, visible mode!" she said. The pocket appeared and deku walked up to her. He looked at the pocket and it said a minute and forty seconds had passed since the start of the test. He looked up at the clock, the singular hand on it still moving quickly.
"Keiji, open a door." Deku said.
"What? Are you kidding? we could die if we open up any old door, c'mon, think this through."
"There's not much to think through." Deku said as he walked up to the nearest door. "We were given all the hints we needed. Just not by him." He motioned to Yuhan. Yuhan kept his creepy smile he had had from the start. Deku grabbed hold of the door. "So balloon man was your accomplice, huh, test director." Yuhan made no change in his face or posture. Deku opened the door.
"Congratulations, You have passed the test."
"I don't understand." said Keiji.
"All you had to do was open a door within five minutes. You opened the door within five minutes, so you passed. You have good instincts, Mr. Midoriya, though you may be a bit too trusting."
"I just took his theory into account, as well as the clock above the doors. It's just fast enough to hit 12 at the five minute mark."
"Hmm, no one has ever noticed that. Clever. Well, you three head on through, I have other teams to test." Deku smiled at his friends and they went through the door. "Very interesting, very interesting indeed."
