"What's going on?!" Bulma screamed, Trunks bracing against her back to keep her from falling over as the Lookout and the very air shook.
"It's Nevrrest and the Fusion!" Piccolo cried, his muscles tense as he stooped, his torn clothing flapping in the vibrating air, "They've managed to match each other's power!"
"It's incredible!" Gohan gasped, holding Dende to keep the namekian steady, "Their power is so great, I can't even sense it clearly!"
(**Scene Break**)
"Oh dear!" Mrs. Brief remarked as she toppled over into her husband's lap, spilling all the coffee.
"It's quite alright, dear," he assured, straightening his glasses as a million zeni vase broke.
"Waaaaah!" Oolong screamed as Chi-Chi lost her balanced and landed on top of him. His snout planted between her boobs and he started giggled, his face turning red.
"Mmmmrrr!" Chi-Chi roared, seizing him by the ear, spinning him around and throwing him out the window.
"Woah-woah-WAAAAH!" Oolong screamed as he flew, another tremor hitting before he even landed.
(**Scene Break**)
Krillin puffed, grunted, and ducked as he ran circles around the room he was trapped in, furniture and unconscious people flying everywhere. Right as that large, muscular woman nearly landed on top of him again, he finally managed to leap out the doorway. The hallway spun around him as he flew down it, once more moving toward the energy signature of Nevrrest's apparent accomplice. Since he was near him, he decided to take the leap and confront the guy.
But he wasn't expecting the guy to fall screaming off what should have been the corner of the hall and crash right into him. They both grunted as they tumbled like a dead bush together, going who knows where in a knot.
Juri-dur caught the alien's eyes amidst the motion. "Who the hell are you?!" he cried.
"I'm the guy who's here to—mmffft!" Krillin cried as a book came out of nowhere and slammed over his face.
"Who the what?!" Juri-dur shouted.
Krillin shoved the book away. "I'm here to stop you!"
"What?! Stop me from what?!"
They bounced twice and Krillin pointed bravely at him. "From killing all these poor people!"
"Why would I—mmffft!" Juri-dur cried as a towel flew in and wrapped over his head.
The ship gave one last lurch and they both struck the wall. Taking advantage of his foe's temporary blindness, Krillin slammed him against the wall and pinned his arm behind him. "Alright, you!" Krillin shouted, "Why are you helping Nevrrest?!"
Juri-dur shook the towel from his face. "Why am I—what?! Who the hell are you?!"
"I'm one of the people who's going to stop you!"
"What?!" Juri-dur growled. "Oooh, I don't have time for this…" He kicked Krillin's leg out from under him, grabbed him, and slammed him back in his place in the wall. "Now! Who are you and what do you want?!"
"You won't get anything out of me!" Krillin cried back, "I won't talk!"
"Why not?" Juri-dur demanded, narrowing his large eyes, "Are you working for Nevrrest?"
"Ah, wise guy trying to turn the tables, eh?" Krillin cocked a brow, "Well if you think you've got me beat…" He slammed his head back into Juri-dur's chin.
"Ah!" Juri-dur cried and fumbled back, grunting as Krillin put him back on the wall in a hold, "You gotta be kidding me…"
"Hehehehe!" laughed Krillin cockily, "Don't mess with a trained martial artist, bucko!"
"Okay, seriously!" Juri-dur snapped, "What the hell is going on?!"
Krillin put his hand against his head and shoved it hard against the wall. "What's going is you are about to tell me how to shut off all these bands."
"Shut off…wait…are you trying to attack the Justice?!"
"If this is your idea of justice, then yeah!" Krillin challenged.
Juri-dur braced his knees against the wall. "Not on my watch! Heeeya!" His body exploded with energy, knocking Krillin back.
Krillin slammed his fingertips against the floor panels, slowing his momentum to a halt. "I didn't want it to come to this, but if this is how it has to be!" His bright aura shot out around him and he charged at Juri-dur. "Haaa!"
Krillin giggled with excitement as he blocked the blows from Juri-dur. He had this – he was totally out of this guy's league! For once, he had found himself a bad guy that he could take down all on his own. One punch was all it took and the guy was flat on his back. Krillin laughed as he outright sat on the guy and pinned his hands over his head.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk," Krillin clicked his tongue and shook his head, "If I were you, I'd quit before I got myself hurt."
Juri-dur stared at him, his large eyes super wide. "You're…amazing! You're even stronger than Justiciar Laswe…"
"Does that mean you give up?" Krillin asked, cocking a brow.
"It doesn't look like I have a choice…" Juri-dur glared at him. "But that doesn't mean I'll cooperate! I'll never help an enemy of the Justice!"
"You really insist on helping Nevrrest, huh?"
"What?!" Juri-dur made a face, "No! That's…that's what this has been about? You think I'm helping Nevrrest?"
A terrible tremor hit the ship – the emergency lights flickering – and Krillin tightened his grip. "Don't play dumb. I heard you talking to her on the radio. You're the one sending her all these people's energy."
"No. No I'm not," Juri-dur insisted with annoyance, "You're talking about the Architect, Sepis."
"How do I know you're not Sepis?" Krillin challenged.
"Because…! Hm. That's actually a good point." Juri-dur paused. "Okay, I can prove it." He looked up. "Computer. Recognition: Sepis Uk Breekirn."
"Voice key incorrect," a pleasant female voice answered.
"Computer. Recognition: Juri-dur."
"Recognized."
Juri-dur looked at Krillin. "Turn on the flood lights in this corridor."
"I'm sorry, I cannot do that," the computer apologized, "You are no longer a registered member of the Justice. Commands above security level one not recognized."
"See? How can I be the one helping Nevrrest if I can't even access the computer's higher functions?"
"Wow, your computer can talk?" Krillin marveled, "Cool. Hey, computer!"
"Recognized. Please identify yourself."
"Oh wow, it works! Um…it's Krillin."
"Designated: Civilian Visitor Krillin. Welcome, Krillin."
"Can you get off me now?" Juri-dur whined.
"Not yet," Krillin shushed him, "I want to confirm your story about this Sepis guy. Ehem. Computer! Can you tell me who Nevrrest's partner is?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't understand the question," the female voice answered, "Please specify your request."
"You won't be able to get much out of it," Juri-dur told him, "You're not even a registered visitor."
"Well what are we supposed to do then?" Krillin asked.
"So, you're starting to trust me?"
"Looks like I'm going to have to – at least a little bit. But tell me, if you're not the one hurting these people, how come you're the only one not being drained?"
"I know it's insane, but for some reason the one doing this is killing himself too," Juri-dur answered, "As for me, I resigned my commission. I was about to head home when all this happened."
"Hm…" Krillin squinted and released his arms, getting off him. "Okay. Then take me to this guy. Maybe we can figure this out."
Krillin followed Juri-dur with caution, still not convinced he wasn't one of the bad guys. But when they got to the large door of the Core Chamber, he found exactly what the former guardian had described – a massive energy behind it as well as the signature of a person being drained near-death.
"No kidding…" said Krillin, touching the door, "This guy is actually in there with the machine killing himself."
"I know, I don't understand it either," Juri-dur shook his head, "The Architect is a very nervous man from what I could tell. I only met him once. He never struck me as cold. I honestly don't understand why he'd do this."
"Maybe he didn't realize what would happen," Krillin offered.
"No," Juri-dur immediately shook his head, "I never saw anyone so attuned. He definitely knew – right down to the exact measurements."
"Maybe he drained himself by accident?"
"I can't see that either. It's too obvious a mistake. Understand, the Architect is a brilliant, almost scarily intelligent man."
Krillin hummed thoughtfully and put out a hand. "Well, whatever the case, I can't just let him die. It'll be a little hard to do through the door, but I think I can send him a kick of energy."
Juri-dur blinked with surprise. "Even though he's your enemy?"
"Sure," Krillin nodded, concentrating as blue particles flowed from his hand, "It's something my friend Goku taught me. Sometimes, a little kindness can go a long way. Even against a really bad person."
"I see…well I hope it doesn't backfire on us."
Krillin let out a breath and lowered his arm, turning to Juri-dur with a shy smile. "Hey…sorry about attacking you earlier. I might have gotten a little too excited when I thought you were one of the bad guys."
"It's no problem – I made the same mistake."
"So, what do we do now?"
Juri-dur looked back. "Justiciar Laswe asked me to guard this door and to detain Sepis the moment he steps out…assuming he ever does."
"I see." Krillin held up a finger. "Well here's an idea. Why don't you help me keep these people going? I've been sharing my energy to keep them alive and could really use the extra set of hands."
"But what about Sepis?"
"Don't worry about him. Once I've learned someone's energy signature, I never forget it. If he does anything, I'll know about it."
"Alright. I accept."
"Great. Let's go!"
They took off jogging down the corridor, side by side.
(**Scene Break**)
Horkion held Laswe close to his chest and squinted his rocky lids against the shockwaves as they buffeted against the Hammer. The ship had caught itself against a cliff side, finally stopping its roll. Everything else, however, was being blown apart by the sheer force of the battle between Nevrrest and the mysterious stranger. Gravity was thrown into chaos as rocks and dust particles lifted into and floated in the air – the weather in flux between clear skies and terrible storms with each vibration. And with the quakes thundering all around them, it was a wonder the Earth itself didn't split apart.
Laswe tucked his head under Horkion's chin, making his squishy body as small as possible. "Dammit! You know when I said I was afraid of Goku and Nevrrest going at it? Yeah…this? This!"
"But it's not Goku," said Horkion, gazing up with wonder, "It's someone else…someone I've never seen before!" He watched the golden light blaze around the stranger. "I don't know how they did it so fast but…I think Goku and Vegeta had a child!"
"Uhhhh…Horkion? I don't think that's how it works with Saiyans."
"Oh. Right."
"I don't know what they did, but they called it Fusion." Laswe squinted out at the stranger as he hurled a ball of energy at Nevrrest. "Call me crazy…but I think that is them!"
"Kkkkhhhrrrr!" Nevrrest snarled, swooping backward and dive attacking with rapid strikes from her foot talons. Veku dodged back and forth through them, turning and throwing a kick in return that just missed Nevrrest's head. Who is this man?! she thought as she swiped her elbow blades at him, the other warrior's mauve eyes narrowed as they sliced past his chin, He looks like a Saiyan, but his eyes are all wrong! He's both ruthless and perceptive! I feel like I know him, but I've never seen him before in my life! Who are you, Veku?!
"Hmph," Veku smirked, as if reading her thoughts, and threw a second kick at her, coupled with a punch.
Nevrrest snarled, blocking them both. That was when she encountered a terribly confusing sight. The mysterious saiyan had prison numbers on his right shoulder: 4701. Clenching her beak, she forced him back with a one-handed blast and flip-spun, putting some distance between them and digging her left hand's talons into the ground to bring her to a stop.
"Computer," she spoke, "Identify Prisoner Forty-Seven-Zero-One."
To her further chagrin, a distorted, smashed together profile of both Goku and Vegeta was projected from her gem – half of one's face in the picture and half of the other's, the information a jumbled mess as well. "Prisoner—bbzzrrt—Forty-Seven-Zero-One—bbbttpp—Prince Ve—ku—brp—of—pssttt!"
Veku touched down in front of her and she looked up with narrowed eyes, standing. "So, that's it. Vegeta and Goku. Veku. You've…become one person somehow. One warrior. All your strengths combined. What a wonderful and terrifying idea. I'm surprised you two didn't do this sooner. Unless…there's some kind of catch?"
"Actually, it's pretty simple," Veku answered, his voice a reverberation of both Goku and Vegeta. He moved into an attack position. "Neither of them like being forced to share a body."
"Kahaha…I should have known it was some pathetic excuse like that!" She spun with a strike and the world shook as Veku blocked it. "And how convenient for me! Now I can kill you both at the same time!"
"Heh," Veku cracked a grin, "You can try. And now that you're no longer in the dark? I can finally give you what you've been asking for." He shot forward and cracked his fist across her jaw so hard it turned her head, pushing them both across the landscape and into the air with the momentum. "Being taken seriously!"
Nevrrest snarled and grabbed him with both her feet, eyes narrowed. "Nothing would make me happier." Veku bent over backward as she blasted a red beam pointblank at him, the attack obliterating one of the distant mountains instead.
(**Scene Break**)
Gohan stumbled, catching Bulma before she hit the ground. "Can the Earth really take this?!" he cried.
"Despite what it may seem, it could be a lot worse!" Dende assured, hugging a tree on the Lookout, "Most of the energy from their attacks is being directed into the atmosphere!"
"Hmph, I don't remember any of the fusions being this careful," stated Piccolo, somehow keeping his balance while shielding the two young boys as well, "Goku and Vegeta must have done something different this time."
"Well whatever's going on, they'd better hurry it up!" Bulma shrilly cried, hugging Gohan's neck, "I'm not sure I can take this much longer!"
(**Scene Break**)
One thought itched at the back of Nevrrest's mind: was this it? Had this long, ridiculous affair finally reached its end? She wanted it to end so badly. Back when Sepis had first informed her of the location of Prince Vegeta, she never imagined in her most insane nightmares that it would all happen as it did. How had it turned out like this? How was she now exhausting everything her fleet had in a fight against a man who hadn't even existed a few moments ago? Or perhaps Veku was right. Perhaps he hadn't only just been born.
As she looked into his eyes again and again as they fought, she knew for certain that he wasn't an unexpected guest. She knew him. She had seen him many times in the glint of Goku's eye, in the tightening of Vegeta's jaw, in the lifting of Goku's challenging smile; in the glare in Vegeta's eyes. And…somewhere else as well. In any case, she had been given a fantastic opportunity to bring down the real villain in all this – this Veku – this force that had brought everything she loved to ruin.
What's more, he had kept his promise. Her blood boiled with every survival instinct she had as he came at her with no holds barred. The air whistled past them like a hurricane as their movements pierced the sky. Veku hammered against her defenses like a relentless machine, his mauve eyes honed and intense. Nevrrest felt excited by her own apprehension as her tail whipped, striking the blows aside.
Come on, Nevrrest, she coached herself, You have more in you than this…bring him down and finish it!
"Hmph," Veku smiled and Nevrrest's eyes widened as he slipped under her defenses and pressed both his hands to her chest.
Instantly, Nevrrest wrapped herself into a spinning ball, the movement and her defenses deflecting most of the attack. She fell back through the air, growling as smoke rose from her arms and legs. Veku stopped smiling and glared at her. He made a short movement one way, drifted the other, and then burst straight in her direction. Nevrrest hissed and slashed her talons through the air, sending cutting energy projectiles at her foe. He dodged through them and thrust up a leg. The mountains tipped as Nevrrest caught his heel against her overlapped palms.
This is more than just a combination of the two, she thought as she dared to catch her breath for a split second, They're doing this on purpose. It's like this enemy was tailor made just for me. But how is that possible? Simply combining two people shouldn't produce something like this. Veku sprang off her guard, over her head, and fired a blast back at her. Nevrrest hissed as she jerked out of the way, the yellow beam sliding just past her. I have to end this…it can't be allowed to continue! Too much is at stake.
She decided to take a risk and push the offensive. Her hands like spears, she jabbed at him. Her talons like knives, she slashed at him. Soon, she saw that she still had the advantage of speed. Veku sweated in the effort to keep up with her barrage of attacks. Finally, her foot ripped through his pant leg and drew a gash down his thigh. She followed up by going for the throat. Veku gritted his teeth as he just barely bent his head out of the way of her jab.
Ha! her glowing yellow eyes flashed with excitement, Yes, I got this! And this time, no one will interfere and ruin my victory. Time for the two of you to die, Goku and my most hated Vegeta!
But Veku quickly proved he wasn't going down easily. He predicted her next movement and answered it with a rapid strike to her jaw. She snarled as she felt her gums bleed and thrashed her tail at him, the blades at the end repeatedly going for his stomach. He moved into her guard and she countered by cracking her forehead against his, forcing him back. Her tail snapped around his leg and threw him. Veku twisted as he flew downward, firing a blast up at her. Nevrrest snarled again as it grazed her shoulder.
"Tenacious," she remarked, brushing off her shoulder before diving after her prey.
Veku regained his footing by the time she hit, creating a giant crater around them. Before the dust had even settled, they were exchanging blows. Trees in the nearby forest uprooted and flew away, the sheer force of their strikes greater than hurricane winds. Eventually, once again, Nevrrest's speed came up on top. Her tail whipped, taking his legs out from under him. Before he could hit ground, she was on top of him, driving punches all over his torso. Veku cried out as she drove him deeper and deeper into the ground.
"THIS—IS—YOUR—GRAVE!" she screeched, driving one final punch that broke him through the rock.
Veku tumbled and landed in some kind of underground river. Nevrrest swooped like a hawk, Veku leaping just as her talons splashed. She dove for him again, Veku bounding across the water's surface to evade her. It filled her with intense excitement to see her foe on the run. The water pushed up like walls on either side of her as she rushed forward, her right arm resting over her left and her fingers curling in toward her palm.
Her fangs sparkled with saliva. "Breaker Blast!"
Veku turned his head and smiled. "Empathic Reflect."
Nevrrest gasped, frozen with horror as Veku's eyes flashed and her attack struck them both simultaneously. Only Veku had time to brace his defenses. Nevrrest's body skipped across the water, hitting a far rock wall. She slowly slid down, red energy sparking around her as she fell into the water.
Suddenly, it all makes sense, Nevrrest thought as she sank, Why their two personalities are so perfectly mixed. Oom'Bagu…just how deep does your betrayal go?
"So," said Veku as he gazed down at the water, "I was right. I am still the Empathic Master. Even more than Vegeta was." This noted, he reached out his hand and it lit with a brilliant yellow light.
Nevrrest's eyes widened as she saw the light through the water, scrambling to swim for the surface. The entire river was turned into a geyser as the yellow beam blasted through it. Nevrrest spun upward with the spray and the steam, baring her teeth as she shot at Veku. "You think I'm that easily destroyed?!" she screeched, driving the base of her palm into the underside of his chin. Her tail blades whipped at his stomach and he barely blocked them.
It's all speed now, she thought as she slammed into him, Dammit. The Breaker Blast surely did its work and damaged my defensive energy. If only he hadn't guarded! He has an advantage now. But speed…I have to be faster! I know I can be even faster than this!
The sound of her strikes all melded into a single din as she began to pound him so rapidly that her entire body became a blur. Veku grunted and hissed as he gritted his teeth, moving back to stay out of her reach as he guarded. Nevrrest gave a high-pitched roar deep in her throat, energy blazing and arching from her eyes. The sphere of energy exploded around her, sending up boulders into the sky and creating a giant pit in the middle of the desert plain. The boulders tumbled back down into the pit as the two combatants flew up, cloud swirling in response to their blows.
(**Scene Break**)
"Are you okay?"
"Horkion!" Laswe snapped back, his royal robe wrapped tightly around him, "Shut up already so I can concentrate on the fight!"
"But are you sure?"
"No I'm not sure! I'm having the life sucked out of me here! But as long as I'm conscious, leave me alone already about it!"
Horkion tightened his jaw and cradled his friend even more closely against the raging storm from the battle. He was almost angry with himself for not going through with the Union Elegy. He wished it was all over and that he could know that everyone was safe. But instead, he had put everyone's fate in the hands of a man he didn't even know – a man who had only just been born and whose future was unknown. Though…hadn't the Minarites done the same thing when they'd created him? Laswe insisted that Veku wasn't Goku and Vegeta's son, but Horkion couldn't understand it any other way.
And Veku's father, Goku, had made him a promise. No one else was going to die. Horkion gazed down at Laswe in his embrace. No one else would die. No one.
"Veku," Horkion murmured, his voice lost in the wind, "Keep your father's promise."
(**Scene Break**)
Water rained down on them as the falling boulders created a giant geyser, the droplets dancing across their limbs and faces as they fought. Veku felt his heart race with fear and anticipation as Nevrrest's movements grew even harder to track.
I've never had a challenge like this before, Veku thought as he bent backward to avoid her elbow blades, I could die! Haha, I've never had the chance to die before. I wonder, if I die, will I pass on? Or will Goku and Vegeta go to Warrior's Heaven without me? Lucky bastards.
As he pushed Nevrrest back with his energy, he thought of the two short lives he had lived before. That first experience had been…awkward. Gogeta had been dumb, fat, and useless as he'd fled from Janemba. His skin crawled with humiliation at just the thought of it. But then he'd become powerful. The fight was short, but sweet he had to admit. But his stomach had hurt from his two halves kicking around at his core, his very soul arguing with itself. Frankly, he was glad the whole ordeal had only lasted an hour.
And then he'd reawakened as Vegito. He'd been happier in that second life. He thought he would vanquish Buu and live forever. But his purpose had been fulfilled and with it that existence. In the end, he didn't blame his halves. He understood the joy of existing – a joy his halves wished to keep – and had felt their unhappy conflict smashing around his brain. In that sense, being alive had never been an entirely good experience. If it hadn't been for the battles he'd enjoyed, he'd almost look back at it all with regret.
But today, he was Veku. For the first time, someone had quelled the angry and bickering parts of his mind and soul. Finally, he could focus and just fight. Not only that, but his opponent was actually keeping up with him. Nevrrest. She too was a fusion of sorts – a twisted incarnation of stolen energy and broken trust. From the moment he'd reawakened as Veku, he'd felt a deep seeded rage toward her. In fact, that anger was so powerful, he hardly felt the ability to express it. When it came to that rage, defeating her was not only his mission, but the only recourse he had.
If he could keep up with her.
"Nrrrraaaaa!" Nevrrest roared, tiny droplets of blood flying as she slashed at his guard. She dropped her palm and raised it, a large sphere forming in her palm. Veku moved to deflect it, but it exploded just before it reached him, sending him flying straight through a mountaintop. The land formation crumbled, Veku being forced to use the falling rocks as cover as he evaded further attacks. The brightly colored threads of his vest flew into the air as her talons ripped across his chest, followed up by a direct punch to the sternum.
He didn't even hit anything this time. Half a second later, as he flew toward the ground, Nevrrest blurred into existence beneath him and struck him again, this time in the back. Veku's eyes widened as blood flew from his mouth. She volleyed him back and forth again and again so quickly, it was as though her body escaped reality itself. But then he touched his forehead and disappeared.
"What?" she gasped, freezing in mid-strike. At that same moment, powerful arms locked around her from behind. "Impossible!" she screamed as she struggled.
"Sorry," Veku said, turning his head to spit blood, "But that got old real fast." He flipped her over and flew at full speed toward the ground. Nevrrest squawked as they impacted, debris shooting skyward in a gigantic plume.
(**Scene Break**)
Krillin was in the midst of giving his energy to a plump little man with a pinched face when Juri-dur came sliding around the corner and nearly crashed into the wall. "Krillin!" he shouted, "I need your help – come quickly!"
"Why, what's wrong?" Krillin asked, leaping over to him.
"I nearly missed him," Juri-dur panted, his face touched with sweat, "In the storage decks, at the bottom of the ship, there's a man trapped under debris! He somehow got wedged in the hull plates and I'm not strong enough to get him out!"
"Don't say anymore – let's go!" answered Krillin, taking off speeding down the hall.
Even though he'd seen it once before, Krillin was still in awe by how devastated the belly of the ship was. The entire place was a crumpled scrap heap. If anyone was alive down here, they were lucky to be. He followed Juri-dur through the mess till they came to a crack in the wall with a trickle of blood coming from it. Krillin measured the fissure with a few glances and put his hands together, cracking his knuckles.
"Alright, let's see what I can do." He dug his fingers in and began to pull. Soon his face had turned beet red as he strained, the metal vibrating. "I uh…little help here?" he sheepishly asked.
"Got it," Juri-dur nodded.
Both their heads grew so swollen with blood in the strain, it was a wonder they didn't pop. But working together, they slowly managed to pull the metal back. A body fell out. At the sight of it, Juri-dur leapt backward and screamed like a fancy woman who had just been assaulted by a spider.
"What is it—what is it?!" Krillin cried, frightened – of what he didn't know.
"Never mind, let's get out of here!" Juri-dur shouted, pulling at Krillin's arm.
"Hold on—he's still alive!" Krillin protested.
"I know, that's why we gotta get out of here!"
"What?!"
"Don't you recognize it?!" Juri-dur cried in a hushed voice, hiding behind him, "It's a Cypher!"
"Eh?" Krillin blinked at the man on the ground, blood dripping under his ripped uniform and staining his horn-like golden hair. "A Cypher? He looks like a cartoon character."
"You mean you've never heard of the Cyphers before?" Juri-dur said incredulously, peeking around the tiny man.
"Nope. The only aliens I know anything about are the Saiyans."
"Well the Cyphers are just like the Saiyans…only worse."
"Worse?" said Krillin, sweating a little, "Worse how?"
"They're not extinct."
"So they're bad news, huh?"
"Very."
Krillin gave the unconscious man another look over. "But he's wearing one of your uniforms, isn't he?"
"I…" Juri-dur paused with embarrassment. "I guess he is. But there's no way there'd be a Cypher serving in the Justice!" His face paled again. "Hey! What are you doing?!"
"Well," Krillin said, the large hand and footed man slumped as Krillin hooked his arms under his, "Whoever he is, he's going to die if we leave him like this. Do you guys have some kind of hospital in this ship?"
"N-no way!" Juri-dur sweated, "We should just leave him!"
Krillin paused, cocking a brow and giving him a look. "Now I'm surprised at you," he scolded, "Didn't you just quit your job because of the way they were treating a Saiyan?"
Again, Juri-dur blushed with shame. "Yeah…but—"
"At least with Vegeta we know he's killed people. My best friend's a Saiyan and he's never murdered anyone. That could be this guy for all we know."
"Yeah but—"
Krillin cocked the other brow.
"You don't—"
He raised the opposing brow again.
"Duh…" Juri-dur sighed, slumping, "You win."
"You bet I do," Krillin replied and gestured with the unconscious man, "Now lead the way. We got a life to save!"
"Yes sir…" Juri-dur sighed again, taking the lead, a fresh droplet of sweat on his forehead and of blood on the Cypher's.
