Chapter 4

The next morning Miss Cackle, Miss Hardbroom, Mildred, Maud, and Enid was going on a stroll when they bumped into Miss Gullet. Miss Cackle fired Miss Gullet and said, "You are the worst teacher." While Mildred, Maud, and Enid all giggled, Miss Hardbroom heard Mildred giggling with her friends that she couldn't help but smile. Miss Cackle gave Mr. Algernon Rowan-Webb the spell science position, which Mildred was happy about, so all of her other friends. Mildred finally told her other friends Felicity and Esmerelda about Miss Hardbroom being her soulmate. They were all alright with it and promised not to tell anyone else, and they didn't.

Ada went into her office while Miss Hardbroom spent time with Mildred and her friends after telling them they wanted to know the soft but protective Miss Hardbroom that Mildred got to see. When it was lunchtime, they left to get their lunch, Ada got up in the front and had a scroll with her, and it said, "The great wizard is visiting the school today." Everyone was excited except Mildred. She didn't know who this great wizard was but knew he must be important.

Everyone was outside waiting for the great wizard to come when Ada and the teachers looked over. They saw Hecate walking out, holding Mildred's hand, and saw that Mildred was limping a bit. Hecate let Mildred stay with her and the teachers and bent down and said, "Mildred, after this, I will massage your leg for you to help you be more comfortable." Mildred nodded her head and looked up and saw a figure flying on their broomstick. Hecate saw her confused look and said, "That is the great wizard, don't forget to put your hand on your forehead and bow a bit."

Mildred nodded to Hecate and waited for him to land when he did, he went over to everyone and said, "Well met." At the same time, his hand was on his forehead. He walked over to the teachers and then noticed the teenage girl hiding a bit behind Miss Hardbroom. Miss Cackle saw him looking at Mildred and said, "Your greatness, there are some things we need to discuss with you." After dismissing the other students to their next class, except for Mildred. They all transferred into the office. Hecate guided Mildred to a chair so she could sit down to rest her leg. Ada sat in the chair behind her desk, and the great wizard sat down in the chair in front of the desk and watched Hecate and Mildred.

The Great Wizard saw how caring and protective Hecate was being with the girl that he had a feeling that there was going to be something going on between these two soon. Ada said, "Your greatness, this is Mildred Hubble. She is Hecate's Soulmate." The great wizard was surprised and shocked but also happy that Hecate had someone.

They watched as Hecate massaged Mildred's leg while they were talking. The Great Wizard looked at Ada and said, "Ada, what happened to her?" Ada looked and him and replied, "Mildred got hit by a car last year and broke her leg and arm in four places, had broken rids one had punctured her lung and had to have surgery she is better but sometimes get cramps in her leg, so we massage it for her."

The Great Wizard was shocked that Mildred went through all that and felt bad for her. Hecate finished massaging Mildred's leg, so she helped her up and took her over to be introduced to the great wizard. Mildred put her hand to her forehead and bowed a bit, and said, "Well, met Great Wizard." While looking at Hecate and Ada to see if she had said it right, they just looked at her and nodded until they heard someone laughing, so they looked over and saw the Great Wizard laughing.

Mildred looked at him and then at Hecate and Ada and just shrugged her shoulders, making them laugh. Mildred smiled and sat in the chair that was next to the Great Wizard. They talked until Mildred had to go to class. Miss Hardbroom put her hand onto Mildred's shoulder while transferring her to her next class while the other two in the office watched them go.

The great wizard kept an eye on Mildred when no one was looking. Ada went missing sometime through the day, and Agatha replaced her without anyone realizing who it was. Agatha got Ethel to put a spell on Mildred's broomstick and got her to lead the flying demonstration for the great wizard.

Mildred's broomstick went out of control, and Mildred screamed. Hecate was sitting next to the great wizard when she heard a scream and looked up when she saw Mildred's broomstick out of control. She had a look of terror on her face. The Great Wizard looked at Hecate and looked up upon seeing a look of terror on her face and realized what was happening. Maud found Miss Cackle in her bed under a spell and woke her up. They both went outside to see a look of terror on everyone's faces.

Mildred kept on screaming until her broomstick was destroyed. She started falling towards the ground. Enid caught her, but her broomstick's end was destroyed, so her broomstick also started falling. Ada used magic to save them both when they realized that Agatha was pretending to be Ada. Hecate ran over to Mildred, comforting her while Mildred cried. Ada, the teacher, the Great Wizard, and the students all heard Mildred crying and felt sorry for her. She has been through so much already. Why would Agatha want to Hurt Mildred?

Ada transferred Agatha to a cottage far away from Cackle's Academy and her students. Mildred kept close to Hecate, Ada, and the Great Wizard most of the day while Maud and Enid came to keep her company. While they were walking, they passed Ethel, who joined them. Enid told them that Ethel spelled the broom. Ethel said, "She told me to, I mean Agatha told me to." Ada walked up to her and said, "You could have said no."

Hecate gave Ethel a furious look but didn't say anything. They had some scones and tea with Ethel. Hecate held Mildred's hand under the table to comfort her when she saw that she looked uncomfortable with Ethel being with them. The Great Wizard looked at Hecate and Mildred and saw them holding hands under the table. He could feel a father and daughter bond between him and Mildred and knew he would protect Mildred as well as Hecate. Ada also had a bond with Mildred, that of a mother and daughter bond.

The Great Wizard left at the end of the day and Mildred did her flying test, which she passed with 52 percent, which Mildred was happy about. The year had finally finished, and the students could go home, but Mildred didn't want to go but knew she had to. Hecate saw that Mildred was hesitant to leave, so she walked up to her and said, "We can talk when you want to." she then hugged her goodbye, watched Mildred leave, and knew she would see her next year.

Mildred told her mother when she got home about the bond she had with the great wizard was a father and daughter bond, and with Miss Ada Cackle, it was a mother and daughter bond. Julie was glad that if she were to pass on that Mildred had two people, she could raise her daughter. She smiled and hugged Mildred.
