"As I explained in the last lesson, The basic unit to call a cluster of shinsu is called a Baang, the size of a Baang is called Myun, and the consistency of shinsu that can be injected into a Baang is called Soo. Baang, Myun and Soo are all important, but amongst them, Baang is the most important to wave controllers. The higher the number of Baangs you can control, the more effective it is for a wave controller to suppress an enemy. If I fight Mr. Bakugo, who can only control one Baang, using three Baangs, Mr. Bakugo has to find a way to block the other two Baangs that I use. However, Controlling many baangs is demanding. If you focus just a bit more on one of them, the other Baang will vanish." Bakugo demonstrated this in the disappearance of his first baang. He growled.
"Ugh, I can't get this!"
"Can't get it? It took me two years to materialize my first Baang and people still called me a genius. However, Mr. Bakugo, it's only been two weeks since you've learned shinsu, and you've materialized and can control it. In that case, what should I call you?" Bakugo smiled at that.
"He can almost control two of them. I can only control one." Urumi complained.
"Same here. But look at this." Deku said. He then created a baang that was at least twice as big as Bakugo's. "It's a little unstable, but thanks to us training outside of class, I can do this."
"That's amazing Deku!" Urumi said loudly. Neither of them noticed Bakugo's glare. Bakugo returned to his room for the night, the last night before the test. After laying down and trying to get some sleep, he heard a knock at the door. "What do you want?!" He growled. They didn't answer, so he got up to open the door, only to find a piece of paper slipped under it.
"Do you want to make Deku fail? I've got an idea -" It said. He turned the paper over. "Take him out!" It made a symbol for him to open the folded paper. "Take him down in the final test, and I'll take care of the rest. P.S. Nobody will suspect you if I set the test up right."
"Who is this?!" he opened the door, only to find that nobody was there. He slammed the door and went back to bed.
-Heroes of the Tower-
Kazue Kaba was shaking.
"What is this...Test director Yuhan?" she asked, referring to the papers in her hand.
"It's written right there, Ms. Kaba. It's the final plan for the joint position test." Yuhan replied.
"What I'm saying is, are you serious?"
"Yes. Of course."
"A tag game with a ranker, that's…" Kaba was interrupted by the door opening.
"Test Director Yuhan, I'm here for the final test plan." Said Goro Miura, walking in with a box of coffee.
"Why is he here for the plans, Director Yuhan?" Kaba asked, desperately not wanting his suspicions confirmed.
"Why, because he is the Seeker, of course."
"...Oh…" Kaba said, words failing her.
-Heroes of the Tower-
"Regulars participating in this joint Position test, Congratulations to all of you! The test is for 24 of you, excluding those who have passed and failed. 12 of you will make a team and take the test. The regulars should take the test in the team assigned to them!" Kaba exclaimed. They looked at their assignments on the wall. Team A consisted of Three fishermen, two spear Bearers, two light bearers, three scouts, and two wave controllers. Deku had never met any of them.
Team B was the same, but he could name most of the people whose pictures were up there. The fishermen were all acquaintances or friends. Saori Sanada Zahard, Tobe Ai, and Shiro Yoshikata. The spear bearers consisted of the green tracksuit man, and a new face to him. It didn't list names so he still didn't know their names. The light bearers included Ochako Uraraka and yet another new face to Deku. The scouts included the two final new faces, as well as Yamamura Keiji. The wave controllers consisted of Katsuki Bakugo and Urumi Zahard.
Finally there was the Early Qualified section below both teams. It included Deku himself, and Yusuke Kida.
"I...I passed?" Deku asked.
"Yes, Those two bonus points pushed you into the passing grade." Kaba said. "Anyway, Teams are assigned fairly based on previous test results. There are the same number of each position on each team. Therefore, you can't say you were put at a disadvantage because it is balanced. The test will be graded individually and also as a team, and this grade will have the most effect on the pass or fail, so please do your best. For your information, your position teachers will grade you individually, and the test Director will grade the teams. The test details will be given by the test director, Test Director Yuhan?"
"Hi, I'm the test Director, Yuhan. Nice to meet you again. This test is Tag. Yes, it is the Tag you know well. But this isn't a team competition. You don't have to fight against other teams. Each team will play tag with the designated 'it.' Outside the window, you will see a huge round construction. That is the stage on which you'll take the test." Several people commented on the size of it.
"The rules are simple. Choose someone who will be 'it' among the fishermen, when the one who is it leaves the safety zone and reaches the exit without being tagged by the test's 'it', you win.
"I will give you a three hour time limit, and the game is over if the one who is 'it' among the fishermen is caught by our 'it.'" Yuhan held up a badge.
"This represents who is 'it.' The one who is 'it' should put the badge on, and if our 'it' touches this badge, the sensor will turn on and stop the test. Of course our 'it' will be wearing one as well, and if you catch our 'it' by touching the badge, you pass the test immediately, and the one who is 'it' of that team will gain 2,000 individual points. It's enough to change the results from previous rounds." A hulking man walked into the room, who was unfamiliar to Deku, but Keiji knew him all too well. "This is the scout teacher for those that don't know, and he is also the 'it' you will be up against. Please, Mr. Miura, go easy on them."
"No promises." Came out of his mouth in a gruff voice.
'We're doomed.' everyone participating thought to themselves.
