You'll never have my soul, the game is on...
"Everyone, this is Ren Amamiya, leader of the Phantom Thieves," Akihiko said,
"The Phantom Thieves...? You guys took down Shido," I said,
"That's right," Ren said,
"You did the whole world a favor, Ren Amamiya," I said,
Ren smiled a little, he sat down, and the conversation continued, he explained to us what he imagined "begin the game" was supposed to mean,
"Basically, we are going up against the Hollow Night, the Dark Hour, and who knows what else?" I said,
"Probably the Metaverse, and maybe even the Midnight Channel," Akihiko said,
I froze, does that mean I have to deal with Yosuke, or, even worse, Teddie again? I'm more sociable but that doesn't mean I'm gonna like being around that perky guy in a bear costume or the one who tackle hugs me and calls me his brother, I sigh,
"So Yosuke and Teddie will be stopping by?" I asked,
"Likely, but don't worry, we'll keep them under control, though Yosuke really has been wanting to see you, but he thought he couldn't because we were under the misconception that we lived in different worlds," Ren said,
"Right... How did I... Forget that...?" I thought,
"I forgot about all that... I remembered meeting them, what they were like... But the mixed up world... I forgot that..." I said,
"Huh? You don't appear the type to forget something so major, you remembered a promise you made years ago when you were five," Hyde said,
"Yeah... I... Normally wouldn't forget..." I said,
Now that I thought about it, ever since the school burned down, I've been losing memories, ones that I shouldn't be forgetting, question is, is that part of this game?
"You just turned sixteen in January, so that promise was like... 11 years ago, how do you remember something like that?" Junpei asked.
"Is that abnormal?" I asked.
"Hell yeah it is!" Junpei stated.
"I see..." I replied.
"If it's especially major, it would only make sense he would recall it." Akihiko said.
"It was the most major moment that was good in my childhood other than meeting my biological brother." I said.
"I keep forgetting you were adopted. It just doesn't make sense, you're not actually tied to the Night Blade, but you have the most unwavering loyalty to them despite the fact that you don't have the blood of anyone from the Night Blade." Hyde said.
I shrugged. It was just the way I was raised. However there was something much more pressing bothering me.
"Considering things now, could it be possible my memory loss has something to do with this 'game'?" I asked.
"Huh? I mean, yeah, maybe..." Akihiko spoke.
"Has it been more than one memory that you've lost?" Akihiko asked.
Looking down, I nodded a little.
"I see... Tell me, what else have you forgotten that you have in some way been made aware of?" Mitsuru asked.
"Well... The other day, I walked to where my old school was."
"Could that just be from habit though?" Junpei asked.
"I don't think so, while it takes me a couple days, I tend to break myself of habits fairly fast and easily. And I've been attending this school for over a month." I said.
"Are there any other incidents such as this one?" Mitsuru asked.
"Well... I forgot I was supposed to help out in a play. Several people from my class wanted my help on the class play because I play piano and read a lot of Shakespeare." I said.
"Could you have just forgotten because you didn't want to help?" Junpei asked.
"That's the thing, I was really looking forward to it. I would have volunteered my assistance if I had known about it before the others came to ask me to join. They reminded me about a week after I had missed several of the meetings discussing it." I said.
I continued telling them of the occasions when I couldn't remember something I should remember, and they all seemed surprised.
"So... Do we think this has to do with 'the game' or not?" Junpei asked.
"It may, memories like those aren't things you would forget unless something was seriously wrong." Mitsuru said.
"And he is a little young to be getting dementia or something..." Junpei said.
"More than a little." I said.
"The only other conclusion would be that this is to do with the game, but why is it messing with Seth so much?" Mitsuru questioned.
"Could he be like Makoto?" Ren asked.
"Don't see how... I've been looking into the Wildcards and learning about Personas and their summoners, the only time there were two Wildcards of a certain summoning type was Ren and Akechi, and Akechi was turned into a Wildcard to counter Ren, every other case, there was only one Wildcard, why would there be two like Makoto? It just seems so unlikely." I said.
Everyone stared at me, looking surprised at how I just started listing information.
"Persona user for a day and has more information than I did in a year..." Junpei said.
Everyone started laughing, and eventually I broke. Laughing with everyone else.
Shadows circle around a million mysteries. Seth's memories and the mysterious voice, mystery and mystery, the story continues... And the game goes on.
