9 Months to Live.
Chapter: 26 The Touch.
Disclaimer: The Lone Wanderer, the chosen undead, was destined to get the rights to RWBY, oh and something about rekindling the first flame. However, as it turns out, running into the boss room butt naked yelling Leroy Jenkins is not the way to beat the boss and got killed instantly. Do not own RWBY.
AN: Thank you all once again for your overwhelming positive reviews on the last chapter. I like to think I never half ass something, and whole ass it. So I hope to give you a climatic showdown firing on all cylinders with a soundtrack from an 80s action movie rather than cutting to people talking overlooking the action *cough-volume 5-cough*. To quote a meme, this is where the fun begins. I hope to let the beginning of the end be my best, and thank you all! As for why I spent so long on the chapter, a variety of reasons. One of them being I'm lazy and procrastinate like nobody's business, the other I got a job like a semi responsible man-child, the last one has been D&D of all things. Throwing three headed bears at people is fun.
And surprisingly no questions that caught my attention. Oh well, time to do the usual. *pulls out a portal gun and teleports outside, then throws a brick at the window.* There. Now I get to add that to my tax deduction.
Ruby was sitting in her cell when she heard the sirens go off. Quickly. She looked out her small room to see soldiers rushing.
Her cell door clicked open, revealing…
"Did ya miss me Red?" Roman Torchwick remarked sarcastically "Cause I sure did!"
Ruby did what any sane person would do, and started whacking him with her food tray violently.
"Gah, Jesus Christ-ow- stop that-motherfucker- Red I'm here to help break you out!" Torchwick called out as he tried to shield himself from the tray bashing.
Ruby paused for a moment. "Why would you do something like that for me?"
"Ah, so you've wisened up over the years!" Torchwick remarked. "But apparently not enough to do the no pants dance with Box Top, judging by your rather large gut." He said, pointing to her rather round stomach.
"Hey! And Box top?" Ruby questioned, before her eyes widened in realization "You mean Jaune? He's here?"
"Is he tall, blonde, and scraggly? Then sort of. Rescue attempt Red, and your whole merry band of do-gooders threatened me into it! That, and let's just say I'm picking the lesser of two evils between you and the guy with a metal stick up his ass." Roman rolled his eyes. "Now get up, before I leave you in this cell. I can only let Neo go so long unsupervised before she starts stabbing people."
Ruby wasted no time, picking herself right out of her cell before giving one more spiteful kick to the shoddy cot they stuck her with.
"Now keep quiet Red" Roman instructed her. "Just because the place is on attack mode does not mean they will get rid of security completely. However, our help should be arriving just about...now" He announced as Emerald and Mercury walked down the hall.
Ruby looked in shock. "You two? But why-"
Emerald cut Ruby off and rolled her eyes. "Look Red, I don't like you, I don't even tolerate you. But I just so happen to hate my boss a lot more than I hate you."
"That, and she has a sweet spot for kids." Mercury butted in before getting a sharp jab to the stomach from the green haired thief."
Roman let out a light cough "As much fun as this little meet and great is, we're on a tight schedule people, and I'd rather not get shot over rescuing Red over all people, now Neo?" He asked as the small woman appeared right in front of him. "Did you take care of those guards up ahead?"
The mute henchwoman held up her bloody umbrella blade with a childlike smile
Roman rubbed his temples "At least I know nobody will find the bodies. Now come on people, Red's ride is gonna be ready!"
Ruby looked at the thug. "What makes you so sure they're gonna make it? I mean, Ironwood has so many men, and-"
Roman scoffed. "Please, I'm sure your gallant friends are on the way right now with my paycheck. And as much as I hate to admit it, boxtop is probably got this whole thing under control."
"GOD DAMN IT NORA!" Jaune yelled into the harsh winds as he fell. He cared for his teammates greatly, but dear god he was positive Nora alone had shaved years off of his life due to stress.
Now...landing strategy.
The mountains covered in a heavy snow gave him an idea. Pulling out his shield, Jaune quickly through the thing on his feet, bracing it to his boots. The mountains approaching ever so closer, Jaune quickly prepared to take the actions Pyrrha had taught.
Remember Jaune, roll at the last second. Otherwise, this will hurt. A lot.
Fortunately, Jaune managed to stick the landing for once, rolling right as he hit the ground, his shield acting as an makeshift snowboard as the knight begin to slide down the mountain. Shredding down the snowy landscape, Jaune struggled to control his descent. Snowboarding was not something he exactly did a lot as a kid, nor did he ever do something as extreme as jumping out of a plane then proceed to surf down a mountain on a shield.
Looking up, Jaune looked to see Nora rocketing out of the Nimbus on her hammer, Ren following suit. The two seemed to be aiming for the foot of the mountain, which was fortunate for Jaune, as he was not prepared mentally or physically to climb up a snowy mountain in metal armor.
Adjusting his balance on his shield, Jaune dodged a large rock in his path. Had this been actual snowboarding and not sledding down a mountain on his shield to rescue Ruby from a fortress, this might have actually been fun. But as of right now, it was terrifying, jagged rocks sticking out of the snow and cliff drops at every turn.
Jaune found himself rapidly approaching the bottom, with too little time to properly correct himself...
And crashed right into a large bank of snow.
"Owwww…." He groaned. Pulling himself out, Jaune collapsed his shield and put it back on his belt, then proceeded to dust off the snow on his form.
"Nice moves Vomit Boy"
Jaune sighed as he saw Yang, Weiss and Blake "Hello Yang." He said, slightly defeated.
"So, where is everyone else?"
Suddenly a loud boom echoed through the mountains, as a pink blur and rocketed past them and into the snow bank Jaune was in earlier.
"I'M QUEEN OF THE CASTLE!"
"Hello Nora." Jaune deadpanned. "Any reason why you threw me out of the plane?"
"Heh heh!"
"That's gonna be the closest thing I get to an answer, isn't it?" he said to nobody in general. "Alright, we should start heading over, but first, we should send a message to Roman, make sure he's getting into his position."
"Fair enough Joseph" Qrow said, taking a swig of his flask, appearing seemingly out of nowhere along with Tai. "Now when we do get there, leave Ironwood to me and Tai over here. You guys may be certified hunters, but Jimbo is a veteran huntsmen, one of the best, on par with Ozpin in sheer power. So don't even think of it kiddies. Just focus on saving Ruby for the time being."
The group nodded, as Weiss and Blake made their appearance, completing the rescue party, finally allowing them to set off.
The party had slowly entered the large cavern at the foot of the mountain, the entrance to the Olympian Fort, the ice covered stone slowly transitioning to frozen steel.
"So…" Nora spoke up from the back. "Anyone else feel like we're entering a trap?"
"Oh we are." Qrow said nonchalantly. "We're just waiting for Jimbo to drop the pretenses and bring out his toys for us to break."
"Isn't that a bad thing?" The Valkyrie questioned
"Not really." Jaune said. "We made a hell of an entrance, and if Sun and crew keep up with the air support, we should have the troops fairly divided."
"Well, I guess that makes sense." Nora said slowly.
The group continued forward into the cold mountain cavern, the cave slowly transitioning from the stalagmites and stalactites to a smooth tunnel with small fluorescent lights giving a soft glow to the cave.
The tunnel finally opened up to a wide area, something akin to a hangar, but much larger in scale. Hanging from the ceiling, several monitors blared a blank screen, still turned on.
Tai and Qrow cleared their throats."Alright look." Tai said. "This isn't gonna be easy, but me and Qrow are gonna go ahead. Ironwood is one of the most skilled huntsman there is, bested only by Ozpin himself in pure skill, and even that's up for debate."
The group continued to walk forward, the tension building in the air, everyone ready to fire off at a moment's notice. Jaune had his hands hovering near his pistol and sword handle, Nora and Yang both looked ready to break something, and Ren and Blake were trying to maintain a calm head.
"I got a bad feeling about this…" Tai said uneasily. However, his remaining living loyal teammate seemed to have other ideas.
Qrow cracked his knuckles "Alright I'm out of patience. HEY JIMMY!" Qrow yelled, his voice echoing through the cave. "YOU GONNA GET YOUR SHIT OUT OR DO I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO GET A DRINK!"
A once dormant screen in the corner of the room flickered to life, displaying the face of the former Atlas general Jame Ironwood.
"Hello Qrow. Still the same drunken idiot you've always been." Ironwood said dryly "Though colored me shocked to see the Dragon moves from his den at last, Taiyang."
"Still got that stick up your ass, I see." Qrow remarked.
Ironwood gritted his teeth. He always hated Qrow. This bandit scum had somehow became Ozpin's most trusted ally, and to add even more salt to the wound, when the terrorist threat of the Vytal festival was settled, Qrow was labeled as a hero by the public, and James had been named a traitor, stripped of his title and respect. "Qrow, what are your intentions here? Seems a bit much for a niece. To kill me? To annoy me? To be yet another thorn in my side? You know I'm doing this for the good of Remnant."
"That's bullshit and you know it Ironwood" Tai roared.
"Well, if it isn't the Lion Dragon of Beacon. I would be more intimidated, had that title meant the same as it did over 20 years ago. But you have become nothing of but a coward of your old self. When Raven betrayed the order and left, you refused to take action-"
"I CHOOSE TO RAISE MY DAUGHTER DAMNIT! YOU WANTED ME TO KILL HER OWN MOTHER!" Tai growled.
"Funny. Because that same inaction and want to raise your children lead to Summer's death, a harsh and lonely one to boot. Of course, not that parenting paid of anyway. I mean, your youngest did get herself pregnant in a drunken stupor if the rumors are true."
Something within Tai snapped. He was gonna tear this place to the fucking ground, and rip Ironwood's-
"Tai, let me handle this." Qrow said, putting a hand on his shoulder, the flames flickering down from Tai, than cleared his throat, projecting his voice.
"I intend to assist in taking my niece back, kick your ass, and drag it back to Ozpin with my shoe size present on your face. You can surrender now, or have us tear through your men and toys to get to you.
"I call that bold talk for a drunken bastard bandit." Ironwood said coldly.
Qrow raised a hand in mock offense, then looked at Ironwood, his eyes tense. "FILL YOUR HAND, YOU SON OF A BITCH" He yelled with a fierce battle cry, shifting his sword to it's scythe shape, Qrow jumped up and charged, sinking his blade into one Sentinal and cutting it's arm clean off, before moving onto the next with savage fury.
Ironwood glared and gave the command for the Atlas Sentinels along with some foot soldiers to deal with Qrow and Tai, along with his special strike squad to take care of the rest of the teens. Ironwood made sure to have them ordered to focus on non lethal takedowns, but permission to use deadly force if it seems the only way to win the fight.
Clenching his right fist, the former general allowed himself a small chuckle "I guess this will allow me to test the new upgrades…" He stated to himself as he loaded shots into his handgun, bracing for the arrival of Qrow and Tai.
The battle had sprung into action like Nora on caffeine, each one fighting to the best of their abilities against the mix of robot troops and soldiers in modified Atlas armor. It seemed that the soldiers had their aura unlocked, as most seemed to be quite resistant to most hits as Jaune had found out when he bashed one goon with his shield only to receive the butt of the man's gun in his face.
Shrugging it off, Jaune kicked at the man's feet, shooting an ice round from his gun, freezing the footsoldier to the ground, before kicking the fallen guy in the face, knocking him out.
Others around him where doing better, but not by much. Yang and Nora had teamed up and taking out any of the more dangerous looking enemies, while Weiss was helping with over all support and focusing on area attacks.
Ren and Blake made a surprisingly good team to both of their amazement. Their shared talent in agility allowed them to perform combos that looked like a pair of circus trapezes joined a CIA assassination program, Blake utilizing the band on Gambol Shroud as a rubber band between the two of them to keep up their momentum as the stoic ninja delivered dropkicks upon the soldiers and herself giving an effective distraction with her afterimages.
Making one final action, she threw gambol shroud, going for the last sniper overlooking the field.
SNNKKKK
A red steel blade flew, cutting the ribbon off of gambol shroud.
There, in front of Ren and Blake, stood two very armed figures.
Blake let out an audible gasp as she got a better look at them. One man, one woman, both heavily modified with cybernetics. She had heard of Atlas tech being able to create believable and combat ready prosthetics for huntsmen who suffered unfortunate losses to their body, but nowhere near on the level she saw before her. Ren himself seemed a bit shook by the opponents before him.
The male, or at least they guessed spoke first, his red blade extending from his knuckles. "So, you wish to strike against our great Captain."
"Your Captain has our friend." Blake gritted our, holding Gambol Shroud at the two.
"No more talk " the female spoke, holding a sparking sickle and chain. "If you green skinned huntsmen think you can stop Ironwood from ending this conflict with the grimm, then so be it. Our viewpoints will not change." She spin the sickle and slammed it down, Blake barely managing to dodge it as the blade embedded itself into the concrete ground, sending bits of debris flying everywhere.
Her partner quickly joined in, the cyborg man heading towards Ren with deadly speed near unachievable to most. The stoic huntsmen had only enough time to channel his aura into his palms, holding back the sparking red katana with all his might.
One thing was certain for the two, this fight would not be easy.
Jaune looked around the battlefield. While they had been doing decent, Ironwood's forces still vastly outnumbered them. It felt like for every soldier or robot they took down, 4 more took their place, and he had yet to hear an update from Ren and Blake.
The battle was continuing to escalate, as Paladin mechs again to the ones team RWBY had fought begin to show up to the flow.
Jaune himself found one coming near him and Weiss.
"Hey, Weiss!" He called out, the snowy huntress looking up, sweat dripping off her forehead
"What?!" She growled.
"We need to take out some of those paladins. Yang and Nora can take care of most of them, but we have one coming towards us. Can you freeze it's legs?"
Weiss shook her head. "I'm running low on ice dust. I have enough for just to encase one limb on that thing, and even then, it could break out easily for all we know."
Jaune raised his sword and shield up "Well, we're out of time on that now Ice Queen. Come up with some way to disable something on it, I'll keep you covered." Jaune charged towards the mech, his shield up, channeling his semblance mainly into his shield.
A loud metal clang echoed as the mech punched as Jaune's shield, sending Jaune sliding as he dug his feet into the ground as best he could. The aura covering the shield did however seem to have melted away some of the metal on the thing. Finally, an idea hit Jaune.
"Weiss do you have enough ice dust to slow it's arms down?"
The Schnee paused for a moment, than gave him a nod.
"Alright, on my signal, freeze the arms then give me a jump glyph. Okay?"
"Got it. Don't screw this up dolt." Weiss said, flicking her fingers and raising her rapier, jumping up and jabbing at the mech, the machine raising it's arms to block it. Weiss grinned as it did exactly as she wanted, activating the dust, ice encasing the arm joints and mechanisms.
Sticking her landing, Weiss gave one last flick, setting up a jump glyph for Jaune. "Go, Arc!"
Jaune wasted no time, getting a running start before jumping into the glyph, rocketing off of it like a trampoline on steroids. Gritting his teeth, Jaune gripped Croceas Mor upward, and focused his semblance into the blade, and with the swift, fluid motion, the aura coated blade sliced cleaning through the mech, cutting it right off it's torso.
Jaune himself acted quickly, getting himself into a roll before standing back up. "Good… work… Weiss." He panted, adrenaline beginning to slightly fade.
"Jaune.. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but slight problem." Weiss said, pointing forward.
There, across the room, was nearly double the amount of enemies they fought, their ranks consisting of at least 7 Paladin mechs, 100 of the robot soldiers, and just as much regular soldiers.
"Son of a bitch." He swore.
However, Jaune felt a low rumble coming from the earth.
There in the distance, was the Arc family, all in horseback, weapons raised, Jaune's parents leading the charge, his mom holding her frying pan in hand while his dad held his rocket javelin with three robots impaled through it.
"YOU'D THINK WE'D LET YOU GET AWAY WITH CAPTURING ONE OF OUR OWN JIMMY?! I'M GONNA LET MY ENTIRE FAMILY LINE UP TO KICK YOUR SORRY METAL ASS!" John roared as he impaled another whole line of robots onto his spear. The Arc family brigade rode onto the battlefield, a cavalry of huntsmen cutting a clear path to the group.
His mother stopped right before him, having holding the reins to Jaune's horse. "Sorry we took so long sweetie. You know your father, he just had to make sure to get the horses."
Jaune merely grinned as he hugged his mother, tears of joy sneaking their way out of his eyes. "Thank you so very much Mom, to everyone."
"Well don't just stand there there, get on the horse!" Joan cried out.
With skill gained from a childhood of horseback riding (among other things like archery, hiking, scuba diving, miming, keeping up with rhyming, etc.) Jaune mounted his steed, a black mare with a white stripe going down it's head, bearing the Arc family emblem on it's armor.
Jaune held the reins to his horse tight in his hand, looking upon the literal army of Atlas drones. This was gonna be hard. But he had so much to fight for.
YOU GOT THE TOUCH
YOU GOT THE POWER
YEAHHHHHH!
With a snap, Jaune cracked the reins and activated his semblance through his blade, energy sparking through Croceas Mor. "RUBY! I'M COMING FOR YOU!" His horse charged forward, and he begin to cut through the hordes of Atlas robots with butterlike ease.
After all is said and done, you never walked, you've never run, you're a winner!
You got the moves, you know the streets,
Break the rules, take the heat,
You're nobody's fool!
You're at your best when the going gets rough,
Gonna fight till the end,
AND YOU'RE TAKING IT ALL
YOU GOT THE TOUCH
YOU GOT THE MOTION
Jaune managed his his reins, but felt a sting on his shoulder. He was still taking fire from a brigade of the drones, and needed them out.
Acting quickly, Jaune put the reins in his mouth and clenched down with all his jaw, he used his now free hand to pull out his gun. This gambit was extremely risky, as if he fell off his horse, he'd be so screwed. Falling to the ground wouldn't KO him, but it'd be an opening for the enemy to fire at him.
KNOW THAT WHEN THINGS GET TOO TOUGH, YOU GOT THE TOUCH!
Jaune's teeth dug into the foul tasting leather of the reins, and with a pull of his head, his horse adjusted his path. With Croceas Mor in one hand and Croissant Luna in the other, Jaune charged forward, slashing down a drone one moment then firing at the rifle squad the next. He was making it, with the skill of a true huntsmen, and was gonna save Ruby and put an end to this.
Yang and Nora both cracked their knuckles as they saw the hoard of the mechs before them.
"I take the 20 on the right, you take the 20 on the left?" Yang offered as the Paladins begin to charge towards them.
"Nah, I'll take 21." Nora grinned. "So, Dragon Hammer?"
"Oh Yeah." Yang said as she cocked back Ember Celica.
Nora swung Mjolnir up, then with a solid crack, sent Yang flying in the directions of the mechs.
Yang grinned as she spiraled towards the paladins at break neck velocit
BOOM!
Yang stood in the rumble of the mechs, flames licking of her body with alien grace.
"Now" She stated clearly, sending shivers down the spines of the pilots "Which one of you fucks helped take my sister?"
Yang and Nora swung into action. Nora with her hammer was flying all over the place, each swing from her sending a dent into the heavy machinery, if not totally them together. Yang jumped up gave an uppercut to one as Nora slammed her hammer down, causing a massive dent in the arm, completely ruining the inner wiring and circuits.
However, while Yang and Nora seemed to have taken out some, others had begun to launch heavy ropes, wrapping around the two. Yang fell to the ground with a thud, unable to break free of the steel restraints, but Nora was having a better time, managing to break one of them off. However it was a bittersweet victory, as more soon followed, the mechs begining to circle Nora, tying her down with their heavy steel grappling cables.
The leader scoffed. "Now light 'em up boys."
Electricity crackled down the steel cables, hitting Nora as she screamed in pain, so much energy coursing through her that one could see brief flashes of her bone.
The patrol smirked to themselves as smoke rose off the huntress's fallen form.
"Ha! That was easy as-"
The man's words were cut short as pink electricity beginning to arc around Nora. The huntress looked up, grinning as her eyes glow with sheer power. "They never did tell ya what my semblance was, did they" Nora said, then with a mighty move, ripped the cables off of her like they were nothing more than cardboard. "I absorb electricity, ya dinguses."
The leader of the group could only mutter a single phrase before the pink viking of doom sealed their fate. "Well shit."
Salem looked it the Seer overlooking the former general's little fort. Truth be told, she had been planning on destroying that thing before it would get too strong, letting it go on long enough so the Tin Man could begin to feel hope, than crush it brutally beneath her. But, with Ozpin's pawns attacking the fort, both sides attacking each other, well…
It was too good of an opening to pass up.
"Gather all grimm is within a 10 mile radius, and awaken one of them." Salem commanded to the orb. "And bring Tyrian and Watts in along with Hazel. I have a job for them."
She let out a dark chuckle. Mankind, was indeed a threatening foe when United.
Divided, however they can be crushed underfoot like the insects they where. This, was going to be just the chance to wipe the old man from the face of Remnant.
Omake: Jaune-Jaune's Weird Odyssey. (aka Is that a fucking Jojo's reference?)
Cinder was having a nice day. Her despicable plan was coming to fruition, as when the Branwen woman opened the portal, she nailed the small silver eyed brat with a fireball through the portal Raven BranBitch opened.
So maybe that comment about her last name stung more like than she let on. But hey, she was gonna kill her and the spring maiden soon and was she looking forward to that! It wasn't like Raven suspected anything about her plans, and there was no way this plan could possibly go wrong.
At all.
Ruby picked herself up from the fireball, glaring at her for. "Cinder." She said, raising Crescent Rose till an arm blocked her.
Jaune stood in front of Ruby's path.
"Jaune, what are you doing?"
The Arc's eyes burned with a righteous fury. "Ruby, I've learned a lot of things over our trip here. Among which is that I'm not to be trusted with the map, nor am I any good at designing weapons. But I've learned that this is something I need to do, not as an Arc, not as a hunter, but as a defender of everything Pyrrha stood for! I will not stand by and let her killer walk so freely! I need to do this, or I won't be able to live with myself!"
Ruby was stuck. On one hand, Jaune really had improved bounds since he first entered Beacon, but to go against the same one who murdered his partner had a strong chance resulting in the same outcome, and she really didn't want her already small list of friends to dwindle down any lower.
Jaune stood, striking a pose in front of Cinder, his hand extended out in front of his face as he cocked his hips. "Your next line will be "What does a foolish boy like you stand against the power of a maiden!""
Cinder chuckled darkly "What does a foolish boy like you stand against the power of a maiden- What?!" She was caught off guard. Did this child have the ability to predict her moves? "Hmp, impressive party trick, I'll give you that much, but your fate ends here" She growled, summoning duel swords from her dust.
Jaune acted quickly, pulling out his sword and shield, blocking the onslaught of attacks. After exchanging blows, the took jumped back, giving them both a breather.
"You think you're tough shit, don't you? Where was this bravado the night of Beacon?" Cinder mocked, trying to egg a reaction out of her opponent, Jaune however, remained unphased.
"Pathetic Scum like you doesn't deserve to live, but I don't want your blood on my blade." Jaune said, putting Croceas Mor in its sheath. "I'll beat you right where I stand, without raising a finger."
Cinder blinked "Really, you're just gonna let me- you're completely defenseless- you know what, I never fought a suicidal person before. Kinda sucks all the fun out it." With that she summoned a curved short sword, and charged at Jaune.
"Now, my semblance, come out, ALL STAR!"
A ghostly man towering in sheer muscle formed behind Jaune, looking like a tribal warrior of old if someone let a 3rd grader color it in with a neon crayon box.
Ruby looked at confusion "Did Jaune just summon some sort of buff ghost thing?"
Yang nodded "I believe he did."
The ghostly figure charged at Cinder, letting out a mighty war cry and letting loose a barrage of punches upon the wicked woman, each mighty blow having enough force to break a lesser man in two.
"ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!"
Cinder was sent flying into the wall, the impact leaving her impending in it by a good foot.
"But...How…" She muttered with the last breath she could mutter between her royally screwed up rib cage.
"You never stood a chance." Jaune said, turning his back to her before pulling on a weird cap on head that seemed to blend with his hair "All Star's ability is to burn someone up from the inside with it's solar punches, so don't even bother trying anything. Say your goodbyes jacksss, because you're already dead."
"NANI?!" Cinder yelled before her face begin to contorted grotesquely.
"Yang, cover Ruby's eyes, she does not need to see what comes next, cause first three rows are a splash zone."
The blonde acted quickly, cover the young Rose's eyes right before...
WRRRRRRRRY!
"CINDER-SEMPIA-KUN-CHAN-SAMA-SENSEI!" Emerald yelled out as her… person's head exploded in a marvelous fashion, brain matter flying all over the main hall of Haven.
Mercury spat out "Gross! I think some of it got in my mouth!"
Nora on the other hand, seemed overjoyed as some of the gore landed on her face. "Yay! Pyrrha's been revenged! Dibs on using the rest of the body for target practice!"
"Nora!" Ren looked in horror.
"Alright fine… I guess I can share since it was Jaune's kill."
Jaune sighed. "What a pain. At least we defeated Salem, now all we need to do is defeat the Spring Maiden…"
"Got it covered!" Weiss called out. "Yeah, Vernal was kinda a pushover really. Me and Yang teamed up on her. You should have seen it. Did you know Yang's arm had a rocket punch feature? Pow, right in her face"
The blonde nodded. "You weren't too shabby either. I mean, summoning the miniature dragon? Badass, Weiss. You guys should have seen it, but I guess Jaune's fight was pretty cool, and not disappointing. I mean, he did get revenge for Pyrrha after all, but I'm still shocked how powerful that semblance is. I mean, that much build off, I was hoping it was something satisfying! I mean, can you imagine how disappointing it would have been to get some lame semblance like boosting others aura? That just be stupid."
Jaune starched the back of his head. "Yeah… can you imagine? But in all seriousness, didn't it feel kinda too easy? I mean, Vernal was a maiden, someone according to the small farm child to be a person of extreme magic power. I was getting more of Cardin's douchey rebellious half sister more than a maiden
A shot rang through the hall, as Vernal fell dead in the floor.
At the end of the hall, stood Raven, holding a smoking gun. Taking off her stupid mask she had on, she cried out "You were expecting Vernal to be the spring maiden, BUT IT WAS ME, RAVEN!"
==TO BE CONTINUED ⇒
Probably not.
