Matt and Anna has just found Natalie, Matt's teammate. This story is an altered version of the real events that happened in the real game.
"Hey, Natalie" The Green-haired girl called her female friend. "Yeah, Anna?" She replied, looking back at her. "I wanted to ask you… are you and Matt just friends, or…" She asked while hopping around, and smirking. The mage froze in place, with her mouth wide open. "W-What?!" she stuttered, looking very embarrassed. "We're way more than just friends!" The blonde pirate suddenly butted in. "W-WHAT?! WE ARE?!" Natalie yelled, getting even redder. "Of course!" Matt grinned. "Oh?" Anna couldn't help but giggle. "Yeah, We're a team! NoLegs and Lance are also part of the team!" Matt smiled ear to ear. The two girls looked at eachother, with confused faces. "Oh…So that's all I am to you, after all this time?" Natalie sighed, looking very disappointed. "Wow, that's just sad…" Anna sweatdropped.
"SEIKEN!" Matt shot one last holy sword. "GRAAAH!" The Mighty Oak groaned, slowly crumbled, and fell down. "We did it!" Anna jumped around and cheered. "Yeah! Nice job, Matt!" Natalie hugged him in the back. "Hehe…" The pirate rubbed the back of his head. Anna looked at the two, and rose an eyebrow. Natalie looked at her, and slightly blushing, let go of the boy. "You're pretty skilled with the bow, Anna" Matt smiled. "Heh, thanks. You and Natalie make a pretty good duo" Anna laughed. "Yeah, without Natalie, we would've probably died" the pirate laughed with the archer. "Heh, I guess that's kinda true" Natalie, herself, laughed with them.
*Rumble* *Rumble*
The three and their cat snapped their heads, looking at a bush.*Rumble* *Rumble* "What's that..?" Matt mumbled, lifting his sword. "…" It went silent for a while. "MATT!"a man suddenly jumped out the bush. "Matt? He knows Matt?" Anna thought. "LANCE!" Matt and Natalie yelled back at the man. "Lance? This is Lance?" Anna mumbled. He looked very intimidating. He was only a few centimetres shorter than Matt, who was already tall enough. He had brown hair, and was wearing all-black military clothes. It also didn't help that he had fiery-looking, ruby-red eyes. Again, he looked really intimidating. "I saw you get knocked down by that child, Matt!" Lance said, pointing at Anna. "I was holding back!" Matt said, annoyed. "Why did you hide anyways? You didn't even help us defeat the Mighty Oak!" Natalie looked really angry. "…Well, I wanted to see if Matt could protect you, himself…" Lance sweatdropped, trying not to look at her in the eyes. "What kind of a reason is that?! Besides, I can take care of myself…" Natalie mumbled the last few parts.
Lance, then, looked at Anna. "Anyway, it seems like you stopped attacking people like a crazy person" Lance squinted his eyes. "HEY! You're talking to me right now, ya know?!" Anna yelled, lifting her hands in the air, in protest. Seeing this, Lance couldn't help but chuckle. "Alright, my name is Lance. I've been a part of this team for a good amount of time now" Lance smiled, looking at he. "I'm Anna. Matt decided to help me out, after I found out that he didn't steal the town's gem" Anna looked at him, still pouting. "Nice to meet you. You must be very skilled with the bow to knock out Matt like that" Lance grinned. "Hey! I told ya, I held back!" Matt threatened to punch his friend. "He… Matt definitely didn't hold back" Anna teased him mire. "Haha! Matt, she took the team away from you!" Lance said, before blocking his stomach. "Ah, Shut Up!" Matt lightly punched Lance in the shoulder.
"Anyway, we need to go further into the east" Anna said, pointing to a trail. The group, then, started to walk. "Hmm… So Anna really IS the new leader…" Lance grinned. Matt just rolled his eyes, continuing to follow the archer. "Where exactly are we going?" Natalie asked, looking at the other girl. "Ah! We're gonna be going to a cave that leads to another town called 'Whitefall'" Anna smiled. " Alright then" Natalie smiled.
"FIREBALL!" Natalie casted another explosion. "Eruption!" Matt struck the ground with his "Heaven's Gate Sword". Slimes exploded everywhere. "Woah!" Anna exclaimed in excitement. Lance looked at her and smirked. "Bullet Hell!" Lance lifted his gun, and fired a volley of flame shots. Anna saw this and grinned. "Blitz Arrow!" Anna pulled back her bow, and created a flaming arrow. *PTOO!* She released the arrow. It hit a bear, before exploding. "GRAAAH!" the bear roared, looking angrily at Anna. "ANNA! LOOK OUT!" Lance yelled, charging up his gun. Anna looked behind, and saw a charging Earth Golem. "Uh oh" she mumbled, pulling out 3 more arrows. "FIRE!" Lance yelled, releasing a beam of shadow, hitting the bear that was looking at Anna. "Multi-shot!" Anna released the arrows, hitting the golem. "Cataclysm!" Matt yelled, finishing the moving Giant. "HealMore!" Natalie clasped her hands, healing her teammates. Suddenly, another wave of bears approached. The group prepared themselves, again…
"NOVA INFERNO!"
A few dragons surrounded the bears, and started to exhale fire! It shocked everybody.
Within seconds, the bears decided to flee the battlefield. "W-What was that…" Anna mumbled. "I…I have no idea…" Matt mumbled. "It seemed like a very powerful spell…" Natalie explained. "That was much stronger than my Bullet Hell…" Lance mumbled. After a few moment of silence, they heard footsteps from behind. Everybody turned around in unison. "Yo" they saw a white-haired boy, coming out of the bushes. He was wearing what seemed like a Mage's outfit. "Huh?" Anna looked confused. "What the… How is he alive?" Matt furrowed his eyebrows, looking quite shocked. Lance looked at the blonde, confused. "You know him?" he asked. "Yeah, Me and Matt know him…" Natalie mumbled, with an equally shocked look as Matt. The two stared at the visitor.
"RED MAGE?!" they yelled in union. "Hello!" the male mage smirked. "What?! H-How are you alive?" Matt asked, looking confused. "Well, after the tournament, someone gave pity to me, and poured some coffee on me" Red Mage explained, walking closer to the group. "Hi, Natalie, How are you?" He waved his hand. "I'm fine…" she replied, looking a little bit annoyed. "Hmm… this guy seems close to Natalie…" Lance squinted his eyes. "Yeah, that's what's so annoying! He acts like he's so close to Natalie! He won't stop bothering her!" Matt yelled, with an angry symbol. Anna looked at him, then looked back at the male mage. "Matt looks really bothered, and annoyed" She thought to herself, raising an eyebrow. "Hello, I'm Red Mage! What are your guys' names?" The mage looked at the other two. "Oh, my name is Anna!" She bowed. "I'm Lance" the gunner looked at him. Red Mage nodded. "Nice to meet you guys! Why are you all in here?" He asked the four. "It's a long story… "Anna mumbled. "I can listen!" "Alright…"
Anna proceeds to tell her story…
"Wow, that sounds really important… I wouldn't mind helping you guys, if needed…" Red Mage smiled. "Really?! Great, more help!" Anna lifted her right arm happily. "WHAT?!" Matt and Natalie yelled in unison. "What?" Anna replied, looking at them with a confused face. "Look, I know I made you our leader temporarily, but please don't put him on the team..!" Matt quietly yelled, pointing at Red Mage who looks confused. "Yeah, he's pretty annoying… may even be worse than Lance, who's already a pervert..." Natalie squinted her eyes. "Hey!" Lance said, looking annoyed. "…Lance is a pervert..?" Anna pouted, looking at the gunner. "Wha-! Hey, don't be so loud!" Lance yelled, slightly blushing. "Sooo…you're not denying you are one..?" Anna smirked, looking slyly at Lance. "Wh-! Ga-! You-! uugghh…" Lance palmed his face, getting even redder. Seeing this, Anna let out a giggle, getting another death stare from Lance. "OI! don't put him in the team, okay?" Matt suddenly talked. "OH! right… Look, we are in a hurry. Any help will make us finish faster. If you guys want, we'll let him help, but we'll leave him, once we reach Whitefall Town…" Anna slightly whispered. Matt and Natalie looked at eachother, and both turned. After a few moments, they turn back to Anna. "Okay, he can stay, but only till we leave Whitefall, got it?" Matt said, looking slightly annoyed. "Okay.." Anna smiled, looking at Red Mage. "Okay, we would kindly accept your help!"
With Red Mage on the team, the group went by the forest a whole lot quicker. His supposed "annoyingness" became pretty obvious, as he was always close to Natalie. Though, he didn't really talk all the time, he still was really chatty. However, just a couple of hours of travelling, they reached their destination. "Here we are!" Anna cheered, looking at the cavern that was just a few meters away. "A cave?" Red Mage mumbled. "Yeah, and on the other side of it is Whitefall Town. "Okay…" He replied in a quiet voice. "Let's go!" Anna smiled, walking towards the entrance. The others followed.
It was a very dank cave. There was almost no light, and the sounds of splashes of water dripping off from spires onto the ground filled the area. "Ugh… I hate it here already..." Natalie mumbled, holding tightly to Matt's arm. "Don't worry Natz, I'm here to protect you" Matt sheepishly smiled, with slightly red cheeks. "Geez, it's getting pretty cold" Lance mumbled. "Yeah, Whitefall is filled with snow" Anna explained. "Good thing I'm a Fire Mage. I can't feel the cold" Red Mage grinned. *GRRRBBBBB* a loud creature grumbled. "Oh nonononono..!" Natalie quietly squeaked, holding Matt even tighter. "Geez, Natalie, that was probably just an ice turtle! You're holding Matt too tightly" Anna sheepishly grinned. *GRRRRRRAAAAAHHHH!* It Roared this time. "Eep!" Anna, this time , squealed, grabbing into something in her left. "Hehe…" Lance chuckled. "Just an Ice Turtle, huh?" He added. It was obvious. Even without being able to see, she could tell he was grinning. "OH! Here's a torch!" Anna said, trying to change the subject. "Hehe…" Lance chuckled, teasing the girl. "SHUT UP!" She yelled embarrassed, lighting up the wood. Almost instantly, they saw the entire part of the cavern. *GRAAAAAHH!* The creature roared again, revealing itself. "An Ice Dragon!" Matt yelled, almost looking more excited, rather than nervous and scared. "Alright, let's go!" Anna said, pulling out her bow. The others followed, pulling their own weapons. Red Mage, however, just opened his fists. His hands started to glow.
"Fireball!" Natalie started the attack, targeting the dragon's forehead. "GRAH!" it started to charge into the group. The dragon summoned spikes, and targeted Lance and Matt. "Bullet Hell!" Lance melted some spikes. Matt pointed his sword into the dragon. "Quick Slash!" He disappeared into thin air, evading all the spikes. "Eruption!" Matt yelled, revealing himself face-to-face with the dragon. The ground cracked, releasing a strong flow of Lava, making the dragon back off. Anna changed her poison bow into a flaming one. "Multishot!" She released three flaming arrows, each one hitting it's head. "Nova Inferno!" Red Mage summoned two small dragons made of flame. The pair flew directly at the bigger dragon, exploding on impact. "GGAAHH!"
The dragon roared in anger. It looked at Matt, and charged. Lance started to charge his gun. Matt replaced his holy sword, with his flaming one. "Legend!" He jumped into the dragon, striking back even sronger, everytime he gets hit. Though the dragon hits hard, Matt was incredibly tough, being able to tank multiple headbutts. "Lumber!" Anna blew her ocarina, and struck the dragon from below. "Heal!" Natalie healed Matt, unable t0 see the Viking Monolith, rising behind her. "Natalie! Behind you!" Red Mage yelled, getting the mage and the pirate to turn around. The Monolith blasted an Ice-Blue Beam. "Natz!" Matt yelled. Natalie stood there, stunned. The beam was moving as fast as wind.
"BARRIER!" A red magical shield stopped the beam. "Blitz Arrow!" Anna quickly sniped the Monolth with an explosive arrow. After snapping back to reality, Natalie finished the Monolith with her Ice spell. "GRAH!" the dragon left Matt, and charged Lance. "FIRE!" He yelled, releasing a beam made of shadows. The dragon got pushed into the wall. "Was that… barrier?" Natalie asked, looking at Red Mage. "Yeah, I started studying support spells" he grinned, getting closer to Natalie. Matt looked at this, and frowned. He stared at the dragon, who looked enraged. "*GGGRRRAAAAHHH!*" It let out a roar so strong, that the cave started to shake. The group looked at it in shock, except for Matt, who looked at it with squinted eyes. He furrowed his eyebrows, and clenched his fists. He changed his sword again, and pulled out his most dangerous one, "Soul Eater".
"Temper" he opened his left fist, and started to glow of red. The dragon started to charge at him. His clothes started to rise, along with his hair. Natalie looked at Matt with wide eyes. "He's going full power…" she mumbled to herself, before looking at the dragon. "Debilitate!" Natalie pointed her staff at the dragon, breaking multiple barriers, weakening the dragon. Lance looked at this, and grinned. "Anna, get ready to see Matt's real power…" He looked at the girl. "Real… power..?" She mumbled, looking at Lance, and back at the dragon. The dragon was just a couple of meters away from Matt. He bent his knees, and pulled back his hand that was holding the sword. He closed his eyes and exhaled. His sword slowly faded, as his hand started to glow. He snapped his eyes open.
"UNLEASH!"
Matt lunged at the dragon with his right arm pulled back. He swiftly snapped his arm open, connecting with the charging dragon's head. *BBGGSSHH!* The impact could be heard even outside of the cave. The cave was filled with smoke and dust, as only the falling of rocks and pebbles was heard. "Matt!" Natalie called her teammate. "Whirlwind" Anna blew her Ocarina, revealing the boy, beside a pile of boulders. "Matt!"
The boy was turned around, seemingly unhurt. "Holy Heck! That was EPIC!" Anna cheered. Lance looked at Anna and grinned. "Told Ya I'd be awesome" he looked back at Matt. "Yeah… he's really strong" Natalie giggled, and looked back at Matt. "Are you okay, Matt?" she asked in a worried voice. She sees as he slowly turned around. "I'm fine…" He gently said. "Where to next?" He turned around, smiling very brightly. Natalie and Anna looked at him in awe. He looked so sweet… kinda cute too. 'Ah, right" Anna sweatdropped, looking away. Lance looked at him and sighed. "Don't show off too much" he lightly elbowed his friend, earning a laugh. Red Mage looked amazed, staring at the pile of boulders. "We're going this direction" Anna pointed at another big hole. "Let's go" Lance started to walk, being followed by Anna. Natalie looked at Matt and smiled. She held to his arm again, though it wasn't really dark. Matt looked at her and blushed. "Oi! Red Mage, You coming or not?" He grinned. "Ah! Yeah" Red Mage followed the four from behind. The team continued to go deeper into the caverns.
"Hey Natalie…" Matt mumbled for the girl to get closer. "Yeah?" She asked. "You know, I've noticed that… well…" Matt looked uneasy. "You seem to be getting close to Red Mage.." He mumbled even quieter. "What?" Natalie looked at him, confused. "Well, you know… you don't seem bothered at all, talking to him…" He furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, he isn't really flirting anymore, so…" Natalie looked at the ground. Matt looked at her and sighed. "Well…" He mumbled. "Don't get too close, okay?" He turned away. Natalie looked at him. "It looks so weird and annoying…" He added, almost inaudible. Natalie's eyes widened, hearing these words. Suddenly, a smirk formed off her face. "Ah… Matt…" She whispered, looking at him. Matt turned around, and looked back at her. "Are you… jealous..?" Her smirk grew even wider. Matt, suddenly, fell silent…
"WHAT?!"
The three snapped their heads to look at Matt. "Meow?" NoLegs meowed, lifting Matt's hat, and looking at him. "Ah, i-it's nothing, guys…" He awkwardly smiled, until the others looked away. Matt, then, looked at Natalie. She looked so smug, it was kinda annoying. "W-What are you suddenly saying..?" He pouted, before looking in the ground, hiding his beet-red face. "Ehehe" Natalie looked at him, and giggled. Without warning, she hugged Matt from behind. "W-Wha-! E-eh…" Matt stuttered, looking behind him. " I like you a thousand times better than him…" Natalie mumbled, before…

Matt froze on the spot. Natalie just kissed him out of nowhere. It's just on the cheeks, but… wow… Such a sudden kiss attack… Natalie let go of him, and walked back to his side. He slowly turned to look at her. Both of them have equally red cheeks. He looked upwards and sighed, getting the girl's attention. "I guess…" he mumbled. "Everything is just fine, then" he looked at the girl with squinted eyes, but slowly smiling. Natalie looked at him, and smiled, herself. She went back, and held his hand again. The two grabbed into eachothers' hands tightly, feeling eachother's warmth. Anna looked back.
She noticed the two, causing her jaw to drop. "Lance, look!" she frantically called her friend. The gunner turned, and saw the scene. He looked back at the other girl. She looked so excited. Her cheeks were red, and it was like she was trying to hold back a scream. Lance chuckled, seeing her reactions. "Geez, you look awfully happy" He laughed, getting the girl's attention. "Well, they were definitely made for eachother!" she giggled. Lance sighed, and smiled. "Definitely" he raised his hand, near Anna. They both bumped eachothers' fists. Red Mage looked at the Gunner and the Archer. "Hehe… You guys get along pretty well, huh?" He chuckled, and continued walking with the others.
