Bulba was pacing the room, clicking buttons on each device in the room. His co-worker watched as he passed him so many times. Bulba was panicking, mostly because his invention was about to destroy the reality they live in, but because his fame and power was about to disappear.
His co-worker, Waddlemeyer, was looking through his note. He was trying to find a way to turn off the weapon, to stop the ramrod, to prevent the deaths of billions. However, his notes couldn't save anything now. He looked through the notes over and over again, still attempting to find a way to turn off the ramrod.
"Bulba," he started. "We have to shut it off! It's the only way!"
Taurus Bulba would not do it though, for he was stubborn and was power hungry. He yearned for money and riches, and he had the perfect billionaire to pay him for "his" inventions. "No, I can fix it doctor!"
Waddlemeyer shook his head and frowned. "Sir, I don't think there's anything we can do! We have to destroy the ramrod."
Bulba turns his head towards the ramrod. He knew that Waddlemeyer was right, but he refused to believe it. He clenched his teeth and turned towards Waddlemeyer with a face of confusion. He didn't know what to believe and so he turned to his "friend" for help for the first time in six long years.
"Doctor, are you sure we can't fix it!?" Taurus yelled.
Waddlemeyer nods and sighs. "There's no other way, I'm sure!"
Taurus makes an expression of realization before turning into something grim. Something that showed his true colors. He turned his face into a face of anger and grabbed Waddlemeyer by the arm and pulled him up to his face. His breath slapped the face of Waddlemeyer as he growled out of rage.
"Find then, if you won't fix it, then I will!" Before he throws Waddlemeyer into the ramrod, he types something into the main computer of the ramrod. "Goodbye, Doctor Waddlemeyer."
He throws Waddlemeyer at the ramrod, but Waddlemeyer catches himself on a pole connected to the main computer. He looked at Bulba with a face of pain and sadness. "And my granddaughter?"
Taurus grinned and narrowed his eyes. "She'll be dead by next week."
Waddlemeyer looked down as he accepted his fate and let go of the bat. Even he knew there was no way to save his daughter, especially since Bulba was a giant bull. Bulba was going to win, something he hadn't done in a very long time. Waddlemeyer sheds a tear as he flies into the portal of the ramrod, sending him to an alternate dimension.
5 Months Later
Launchpad and Dewey were sitting in the front seats of the limozeen, trying to hide their excitement from the passengers behind them. Today was the day they were going to see Drake Mallard, also known as Darkwing Duck. They could just barely hold in their excitement, but they still managed.
Donald sat in the back of the limo with Della at his side and Webby staring out the window in despair. It's been weird for Webby, especially after the fountain of truth incident. Beakley was no better. She hadn't been able to talk to her granddaughter normally since the incident. She had kept too many secrets from Webby. At least too much for Webby to handle.
"Listen, Duke, can I call you Duke? We need security for our house. We're in Saint Bernard and planning on starting a company here. We'll be gone for awhile and that's why we need security." Ranted Della. "Can you give us that?"
The man on the screen clears his throat. "Della, it's Dukellard Seagull and I don't believe I can. I'm sorry and wish I could, but it just isn't possible. All my men are out doing other missions."
Donald shoved Della out of the way before she could respond. "Listen, Dukellard, is there a way we can get one of them to go protect our house?"
Dukellard sighs and slides his roller chair over to the side of the screen and begins looking through files. Eventually, he comes to a stop and pulls something out and rolls back onto the screen. He reads it before saying the words out loud. He sighs again and looks up to see the curios twins.
"There's a man in Saint Bernard," Dukellard began. "His name is Bulba and runs a science business himself. He asked for half of my men last year to protect his laboratory. You can go debate with him."
Donald immediately gets excited and smiles. "Yes, that'll work. Thank you Dukellard."
Dukellard nods and rolls over to the filing cabinet again and puts the file back. "I'll give him a call and let him know you're coming." He rolls back on screen. "Good day to you both."
He hangs up the call and Della starts throwing her hands up in excitement. "Woohoo! We're getting security, baby!" Her voice ringed across the limozeen and everyone but Martial covered their ears.
"Della, calm down. It isn't a guarantee yet. Like Dukellard said, we would have to negotiate." Donald told her in an attempt to calm her down.
"At least we have a chance! Woohoo!" Della smiles and jumps up but hits her head on the ceiling of the limo. "Ow. But woohoo!"
"Mom, can you please be quiet. We're all in the same car you know." Louie pleaded. "I would like to keep my eardrums."
"Sorry Louie." She apologized and sat back down.
Louie rolls his eyes and turns his attention back to Huey and Martial. "So, you guys ready to explore Saint Bernard!?"
"Uh uh." Donald cut in while wagging his finger. "Saint Bernard is the most crime ridden city in the entire part of bird land. I forbid it."
"As, come on Uncle Donald. We had a whole plan and everything." Pleaded Huey.
"Nope," continued Donald. "Like I said, the most crime ridden city in the entire part of bird land. I forbid it."
Louie and Huey sigh. "Yes Uncle Donald." They both said at the same time.
Della noticed how sad they were and decided to try and cheer them up. "You know what. I think Bulba will have a kid room that you guys can stay at while we negotiate. How does that sound?"
Louie shrugs. "I guess it works. But it won't be as fun as exploring an entire new city."
"Meh, it's better than nothing." Webby you groaned as she took her eyes off the blackness of the tar for the first time in an hour.
"Ah, Webby. I see you decided to join us." Beakley playfully said. "I'm glad to see you taking your eyes away from the road."
"Meh." Webby groaned as they went over a bump on the road.
She has been like this forever. She has become weaker and her fur has turned paler. Her eyes stopped sparkling and the expression of her happiness packed up and left without a second thought about what would happen to poor old Webbigail. Really though, Webby kicked out the happiness and threw its luggage out on the streets and slammed the doors, locking every hinge, preventing even a little bit of light from entering.
Dewey hated to see this from his crush. He loved her and he couldn't bear to see her like this, especially after he realized there was nothing he could do for her. He wished of the day he would be able to gun lock the door and allow the darkness on her face to lose the battle and be consumed by happiness and joy.
However, that was not possible. She had locked her heart and thrown away the key and sealed the door with iron bolts that would keep it locked until the door was burned down. She was a completely closed book, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.
As the limo went over bumps on the bridge, the closer they got to Saint Bernard. Dewey and Launchpad (even though this was already covered) we're excited to see Drake. Ever since Jim Starling was defeated, he hasn't been seen. Drake later informed them that he had escaped from jail. He described it with details that made Dewey have nightmares, but it was scary to know Nega Duck was still out there.
Eventually they passed a sign reading "welcome to Saint Bernard," which filled the two with joy. Launchpad increased the speed on the limo as they began to descend down the bridge into Saint Bernard. Nothing could ruin this moment, or at least that's what they thought.
1 Hour Later
Louie, Martial, Huey, Webby, Beakley, Della and Donald were walking through the main hallway of Inventions INC. It was a completely white hallway and every crevice was also painted white. Louie was surprised that the amount of whiteness didn't blind them. Bulb may be a genius, but he didn't know what color to paint walls.
They came upon two double doors that open automatically as they enter the room. It was almost empty, but had a giant machine in the end of the room. They all started to edge closer as they started to hear typing. Eventually they saw a giant bull standing there, typing something into the keys of a machine.
He stops for a second and turns around and ,upon seeing the Mcducks, he smiles. "Ah, hello McDucks. I've heard a lot about your legacy. I'm sorry to hear about your dear Uncle Scrooge."
Della gets chills from the guy but Donald reaches a hand out. "Thanks. Nice to meet you Bulba."
"The pleasure is all mine." He gradually shakes Donald's hand. "So, I hear you need security guards?"
"Yes," Della began. "About that, we are thinking about starting a business in Saint Bernard and need security for our homes. Do you have any spare men?"
Bulba thinks for a few minutes. "You know, I don't know. We would have to discuss that."
Before responding, Della hears the kids sigh, and remembers what she told them. "So, you have a kid area?" She pointed towards the kids.
Bulba looks over her shoulders to see the kids, bored out of their minds. "Ah, yes. Take three lefts and you'll reach a hallway there. Go four doors down and there is an elevator that takes you to the first floor. Go to the first floor and go three doors down and you'll find a room with the title, "Kids Room".
Della smiles and nods. "Thanks. Kids, I think you can follow those directions without us. We'll be here if you need anything."
The kids turn to leave and exit the room. Once out of the room, Huey pulls something out of his hat. It was a map of Saint Bernard. "Alright, I say we go explore this city and be back in an hour to see the city and get back to the kids room."
The kids, besides Webby, get excited and start heading for the door. They were excited to explore a land they've never been, and they thought this was perfect. But really, with perfection, there are always flaws. And their flaws were villains.
Duckburg, Downtown, Black Herons Home
Black Herron was working on customizations to Lunaris' sword as she looked up at a camera. The camera was labeled, Saint Bernard, Bulba's Lab. It showed Della, Donald, and Beakley walking with Bulba to his office. She chuckled a little as she stopped working on the customizations and LAYNE back into her chair to watch the show.
Lunaris walked in on her doing so though, and turned red at the sight of her not working. "Black Heron!" He yelled.
She fell out of her chair in shock and angrily got up as she rubbed her head. "Don't do that."
"You were slacking, Haron." Lunaris snarled. "I hired you because you were the best scientist in Duckburg. Was I wrong."
"No." Replied Haron. "But if you're going to live in my house, you have to abide by my rules. And rule number one, never, and I mean never, walk into my room without my permission." She growled.
Lunaris rolled his eyes. "Please. I'm General Lunaris. You would be making a huge mistake to throw me out. I hope you realize that."
She growled but held in her response. She knew he was right, and she hated to admit it. He had done this ever since he came into her home with Magica De Spell and Scrooge in that dime. That's the reason she couldn't throw him out, because he had Scrooge.
"Anyway," Lunaris started. "What were you doing that was so important to take you away from your work?"
Haron pointed towards the monitor with a wicked smile. "We can watch the Ducks fight Bulba and his new boss."
Lunaris smiled as well and walked up to her and turned to watch the monitor. "Magica, you wouldn't want to miss this!" He cackled. "This is going to be good."
Saint Bernard, Downtown, Warehouse Facility
Dewey and Launchpad were walking through wooden corridors into a giant metal facility. As Dewey touched the wood of the door, he felt the essence of dinosaurs. At this point, nobody knew how old these were but the city owners. However, they didn't even dare try and clean the rigid building.
Dewey quickly pulled his hand away as he felt the dust touch his hand, feeling the particles of sand, dirt, and random dead skin particles. He stuck his tongue out in disgust and quickly wiped it away on his shirt. The splotch of dust was clearly visible on his shirt.
As the doors were finally opened, Dewey looked around the disgustingly old facility. It was clearly vacant and had cobwebs in every corner and crevice. He noticed how worn the wood was on the cargo boxes and how beaten up the staircase to the second and third floor was.
He looked at the damage one more time before looking back up at Launchpad, who was, quite frankly, really excited. "Hey LP, you sure this is the place? This place looks like it hasn't been touched in 50 years."
"On the contrary," responded Launchpad. "This is perfect for a super secret superhero hideout. I think it's the right place."
"Oh well." Dewey put one foot onto the rusty, old, beaten up floor. At the slightest bit of pressure the dust flew into the air. "LP, I really don't think this is the right address."
"Stop doubting this Dewey." Launchpad reassured. He continued to walk deeper into the warehouse, the light grew dimmer and dimmer, and so did his confidence. Eventually, he lost confidence entirely and sighed. "You're probably right, Dewey. Lets go."
He drops his head to the ground and starts for the exit, but the ground lights up, going in a clear line. Then the overhead lights light up, and with all the light combined, it reveals black and purple motorcycles, computers, gadgets and gizmos, suits, and weapons.
The motorcycle was newly polished and the seat was black as night with purple strands all around it. The handles were black with a purple end, and had bumps all over. The metal sparkled with every bit of light that touched it. The back had gas pumps that would shoot smoke out of the vehicle while running.
The computer had a long, black keyboard that held more letters than the alphabet. This confused Launchpad but Dewey was certain the other letters were just in different languages. The screen was as long as a horse, and had purple on the outer layer of the computer.
The gadgets, gizmos and weapons sat in a giant glass container. The glass was encased in a wooden frame that held it in place. The hinges were pure gold, which Drake must have found in the ground or in the ocean randomly. The gold sparkled against the light.
The boys watched in awe as every last part of the storage facility lit up. "You like it?" Says a raspy voice from behind them. They turn around to see Darkwing, jumping from a pipe line in the roof.
"Heck yeah!" Screamed Launchpad. "This is amazing. Are the hinges on the glass containers real gold. Where did you get the paint jobs on the motorcycles?"
"Whoa there buddy." Darkwing stops him. "I haven't even been able to catch you guys yet."
Dewey, before talking, takes out his phone and scrolls through it and eventually stops and presses a button. A flashing light flickers, but no one catches it. "So, this place is your super secret hero hideout?"
Darkwing rubs his neck and looks down. "Well, I did my best. Is it ok, or?"
"I love it, DW." Replies Launchpad, but Darkwing ignores it, mainly because Launchpad would obviously love it.
"Sure." Answers Dewey. He starts walking around while waving his phone around and narrating. "Guys, this is totally epic. We're in Darkwing Duck's super secret hero hideout."
Darkwing immediately understands what he's doing and quickly runs to Dewey. He grabs his phone and presses a button, ending the live stream. "Uh uh. You can't live stream my hideout."
Dewey grabs his phone back with a worried expression and then looks at Darkwing with an angry expression. "Why not? It's just a simple live stream."
Darkwing slaps his face and pulls it down, vibrating his beak as his hand releases it. "Because, then it wouldn't be a super secret hero hideout."
A noise then radiates from a window, forcing Dakwing to turn around in a battle stance. "Everyone," he says after a few seconds. "Stay behind me."
Launchpad and Dewey get behind him as he starts slowly walking towards where the noise came from. He comes across a window that had been opened from the outside. The window was made of special glass pane that had green and blue coloring all over. There were pictures of random people, Darkwing just thought they were for show.
Darkwing then proceeds to walk towards the corridors that led into the building. He slowly approaches, but hides behind a column. He pulls out a gun, that of course was labeled, and jumps out from behind the column. He pointed it at the corridors, but saw nothing. He puts the gun down and sighs, now thinking it was a bird.
He turns around and looks at the two and puts a thumbs up. However, before he can start walking towards them, a figure jumps on Darkwing and makes him roll. The figure then proceeds to take out a rope and tie it around him. Before Darkwing knew it, he was tied up and couldn't escape.
"Who are you?" Asked the figure. The voice was definitely a female voice, and a little dry, but not like Drake's. The figure takes the gun from Darkwing's holster and points it towards Darkwing's head, but doesn't pull the trigger.
There's a long dramatic pause as Darkwings face starts to tense up, preparing for the impact of a bullet. However, nothing happens, and after a few more seconds, Darkwing opens his eye and looks at the female figure and raises an eyebrow. He waits a few more seconds, but the figure bursts into laughter.
"Ha, you should've seen your face. Oh boy, that was hilarious." She continues to laugh as Darkwing pulls something out and presses a button. The lights in the area he was in turn on, revealing a laughing duck.
The duck wore a navy green vest with random lines of light green on it. The girl also had red hair, green eyes, and tannish fur. She had black pants on and long white shoes, and the pants went deep into the shoes, acting as her socks. Her beak was orange and shaped like a duck, indicating that she was a duck.
"Excuse me who are you now?" Asked Darkwing as he watched her take control of herself and wipe tears away from her eyes.
"Gosalyn Waddlemeyer. My grandpa worked for Bulba." Responded Gosalyn. However, a few seconds after mentioning that her grandpa worked for Bulba, her smile turned upside down. "Well, he used to."
"I'm sorry, mis," he responded before taking in anything. "You're going to have to leave, this is a private area."
Gosalyn stares at him. "First, my name is Gosalyn. Second, since when is the warehouse district off limits?"
"Since now." Growled Darkwing as he started to walk towards her. "And you need to go, now. Do I need to make that clear? N. O. W. Now."
He attempted to grab her but she ducked under his hands and ran under his legs. She started running for the motorcycle and jumped up on it. She looked around and eventually grabbed the handles. Dewey, Launchpad, and Darkwing were confused as to why she was doing this, really why she was even here.
"Wow, clean rubber handles. Why would you clean rubber handles on a bike?" She toyed with the handles of the bike as Darkwing approached her.
"Listen, young lady." Darkwing raises a finger and closes his eyes as he takes in a big inhale of air so he could give her a long, stern lecture, but is cut off.
"Ugh," Gosalyn whined. "How many times do I have to say it? My name is Gosalyn."
Darkwing waves his hand. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Unless there's a crime you have to report, you gotta go." He attempts to grab her, but fails.
She puts up a hand in front of his hand to stop them, succeeds, and sighs. "Listen, five months ago my grandpa, Doctor Waddlemeyer, went to Bulba's lab to help him fix the ramrod. However, he never returned."
Darkwing rubs his eyes out of frustration as she goes on with all the details. "Listen, I would help, but this isn't my specialty. I fight crime, stop bank robbers. You can't fight a missing poster."
Gosalyn rolls her eyes and groans. Before she responds, she gets a wicked idea. The guilt trip. "Fine, I guess I won't find my grandpa then." She turned around and pulled her purple hoody down and started walking.
This wouldn't affect many people in the world, especially parents, but Darkwing felt something. He obviously knew she was giving a guilt trip a sad attempt at it too, but if she was willing to do this, then, in Darkwings mind, she must be willing to do anything to get her grandpa back, even if it meant sneaking into a dangerous place.
Gosalyn saw Darkwing cracking so she continued to play dirty. "All alone for the rest of my life. No one to comfort me through anything." Dewey and Launchpad had already fallen for it, but Darkwing resisted.
He was good at resisting things like this most of the time. It was as hard as it was for Adam and Eve to not eat the fruit, but he could do it. Gosalyn noticed how he was almost ready to give in though, and thought of something to say, quickly, but couldn't. However, she wouldn't let all of her determination to go to waste.
She then thought of something to say from the back of her brain. "If you turn this down, just think about what you could've done to help, but you just sat in your lair and did nothing, just like a villain."
At that point, Darkwing snaps. "Alright, fine." He breathes in and then lets out a really short sigh. "I'll help you find your grandpa."
Gosalyn turns around with a face of full excitement and hope. "Really?" She runs for him and, once she reaches him, gives him a hug. "Thank you."
Darkwing was surprised for a few seconds, but shortly accepted the hug. Something inside his brain was saying not to do this, but something in his heart said to do this. He was conflicted and deciding if he should turn it down, but in Gosalyn's brain, something said this was amazing. That this was a day that she would never forget.
