"We call Nicole Bella-Rollins to the stand", they called out.
Nikki stood and made her way to the stand, being sworn in, she sat.
"Mrs. Rollins, you have been long time friends with a Mrs. Ambrose, formally Martinez?", Lana asked.
Nikki nodded.
"Since we were kids. She's like our triplet, at least that's what our parents use to say.", Nikki replied.
"So its safe to say you know her well when it comes to her mood and personality?", Lana asked.
"Yes, I can say that with a hundred percent certainty.", she replied.
Lana smiled.
"Did she ever tell you how she met Mr. Ziggler?", she asked.
"The grocery store. She was excited because she thought he was cute. She did have second thoughts on going out on a date with him, but that mostly had to do with her starting a new job. Didn't want anything or anyone distracting her", Nikki said.
"You got to meet him before her first date?", she asked.
"Yes, like I said, she is like a sister to us. We did almost everything together. This was just another milestone in our journey.", Nikki replied.
"What did you think of him when you met him?", Lana asked.
"I'm not really good at sensing people, that's more my twin sister's job. He seemed nice, perfect, too perfect", Nikki said.
Lana nodded and looked at Dolph before looking back at Nikki.
"Fast forward a few months, how have things changed?", she asked.
"They changed a lot. She had been looking for a place of her own, but Dolph said it would be better if she moved in with him. She did.", Nikki said.
"And how did Alyssa change?", Lana asked.
"She wasn't herself. She's normally bubbly and friendly, always made new friends where ever we went. She has the best laugh", Nikki said smiling.
She wiped at the tear before it slipped.
"Take your time", Lana said softly.
Nikki finished wiping her tears.
"She lost all that. She didn't do or say anything without getting permission from him. We stopped hanging out as much, because he wouldn't let her. She was losing too much weight and she was so pale. I was afraid to hug her, thinking she might break", Nikki said.
"Did she ever tell you what Dolph was doing to her?", Lana asked.
"Yes. We went on a trip to San Diego, it was a girls trip. She was constantly on her phone. It was him, checking in asking her what we were doing. We took her phone, she freaked. She said she had to text him back", Nikki said.
"Did she say why?", Lana asked.
"She just kept asking for the phone back. Then a few minutes later, he calls. She was practically explaining from detail why she couldn't text back.", Nikki said.
Nikki sighed.
"We called her dad. She confessed to it, and even when we told her we could help her, she still stayed. She was afraid of him. The day of her wedding, we got her out", Nikki said.
Lana nodded.
"And now, once she's had the help?", Lana asked.
Nikki smiled.
"She's happy. She was still a bit hesitant when it came to men, but lucky for all of us, she met a great guy who helped her open up. She was her old self again", Nikki said.
Lana smiled and nodded.
"No further questions", Lana said, returning to her seat.
"Mr. Ziggler, your witness", the judge said.
Dolph stood and went to stand in front of Nikki.
"So are you saying it was wrong of me to be worried about my fiancée?", Dolph asked.
"Um", Nikki didn't understand.
"Sorry. You said I was always checking in with her.", Dolph explained.
"I didn't say there was anything wrong with it, my husband does it all the time. The difference…", he cut her off.
"So then is your husband abusing you? Because from what I took, if checking in with your significant other, its abuse", he said.
"The difference…", he cut her off again.
"I don't see any difference.", Dolph chuckled.
Rusev stood.
"Your honor, he's doing it again. Let the witness answer the question. He's speaking for her", Rusev said.
"Witness will answer", judge said.
"Thank you. Yes there is a difference, my husband isn't checking on me twenty four seven. You were.", Nikki said.
Dolph rolled his eyes.
"Did you ever see me hit her? Speak down to her?", he asked.
"No…", he cut her off.
"Other things could make people change. Abusing alcohol and drugs", he said.
"Alyssa would never", Nikki said.
"She actually could, you said she was pulling away. Its why I was always texting, if she didn't respond I knew she was drinking or doing drugs. It was me keeping an eye on her", Dolph said.
Alyssa shook her head.
"Are you saying Alyssa was on drugs? No, I don't believe it", Nikki said.
Dolph shrugged. Nikki might not have believed him, but he could see the wheels turning in the juries heads.
"No further questions", Dolph said.
The judge looked at Lana.
"Anything to add?", the judge asked.
"No your honor", Lana replied.
"You can step down now", the judge said.
Nikki did. They called Brie next. She sat after they swore her in. Rusev stood.
"Mrs. Reigns, we obviously know you are twin sisters with Mrs. Rollins, so I'm going to skip all the how do you know parts", he said.
Brie nodded.
"Your sister mentioned you having a sense for people. What was your sense for Mr. Ziggler?", he said.
"I didn't like him, there was something off with him. Don't ask me what, I don't know. It was just a feeling", Brie replied.
Rusev nodded.
"Do you believe she was on drugs like Mr. Ziggler suggested?", he asked.
"No. She would never, would we enjoy a beer or two, of course. She would never abuse it", she replied.
"Do you believe Mr. Ziggler put his hands on Alyssa?", he asked.
"I do, with every fiber of my being. She was terrified of him, if you would have been there, you would know", she said.
"Is there anything you want to add that your sister might have missed?", he asked.
"No. She covered it", Brie said.
Rusev nodded before sitting.
"No further questions", Rusev said.
Dolph stood and smiled at Brie. She rolled her eyes.
"You said you believe I put my hands on her, but did you ever see me do it?", he asked.
"No, I said I believed", she replied.
"It could have been her dad", he suggested.
"No. He would never, and I mean never put his hands on her. He was like a father to us too", she replied.
"Sorry my wording was off. I believe her dad was the one who beat her. So it must have been him right? See how easy it is to accuse someone without proof. This is a witch hunt for my head, just because they refuse to believe their friend was on drugs", Dolph said.
"No…", he cut Brie off.
"You said it yourself, you didn't like me", he replied.
"I don't need to explain myself, they saw the proof, they saw what you did to her in those videos. They could hear her screaming for you to stop. You did all that", Brie raised her voice.
"All you see of that man, is the back of his head. It could have been anyone", Dolph shrugged.
Dean mumbled something Alyssa couldn't understand. She squeezed his hand.
"There is more than just one video. I've seen them before they were turned in. You can see your face, or are you about to say its someone who looks like you?", Brie said.
Dolph looked at the judge.
"No further questions", he said.
"You can step down now Mrs. Reigns", the judge said.
Once Brie did, the judge folded his hands in front of him.
"Tomorrow we will pick up where we left off. Have a good rest of your day ladies and gentlemen", the judge said, before standing and walking out.
Seth checked on Nikki. Alyssa hugged the twins.
"I can't believe he kept trying to turn this back on you", Brie said.
"I was never on drugs, ever. Just in case it bugged you a bit", Alyssa said.
"We know Lys, because we know you.", Nikki said.
Alyssa sighed.
"I just can't wait for this to be over with. We can go back to focusing on the most important people in our lives", Alyssa said.
Everyone agreed. Dean kissed her.
"Let's go home", he said softly.
Once home, they ate and Alyssa decided on a long nap. Especially since she couldn't sleep.
"Dolph is an asshole", Megan said.
Dean chuckled.
"What else is new", he mumbled.
"To try and turn it on Aly. Drugs.", Megan shook her head.
"Not a day in her life.", Dean said.
"I'm taking the stand soon and I will not keep my mouth shut. He likes to do that, shut you down before letting you finish", Megan said.
"It's a good thing Rusev and Lana don't let him get away with it.", Dean replied.
"Have you see those videos?", she asked.
Dean nodded.
"I didn't know about Dolph till a few years later. I wanted to fuck him up so bad", he replied.
"They were right though, he's good at talking himself out of things. I just hope the jury doesn't fall for it", she said.
"Me too. Alyssa can't take that. Even if we moved, he would follow. Its what he does. He followed her from Arizona to Boston, then here. The only way he'll stop is if he kills Aly and I won't let him do that", he said.
Megan squeezed his arm.
"If it comes down to him getting off, I promise to help you do whatever we have to in order to protect our family.", Megan said.
"Even kill him?", he asked.
"Yes", she said, no hesitation.
The next morning, Alyssa wasn't feeling good.
"You don't have to go today baby. Megan and I can handle this. Wade and my mom will stay here to keep an eye on you and the kids.", Dean whispered.
She nodded and curled up as much as she could.
"I love you", he whispered.
"I love you too", she replied, with a hint of a smile.
Getting downstairs, he made sure he told his mom to keep a close eye on Alyssa. Wade would make sure Dolph didn't send anyone to finish the job. To protect his wife and kids.
"And don't kiss my wife this time", Dean joked.
Wade chuckled.
"Your sister would hurt me", he replied.
"You bet I would", she said, kissing his cheek.
Once at court, Dean explained to their friends why Aly wasn't there. They understood. Bringing up too many bad memories wasn't healthy for her.
"Who is up today?", Roman asked.
"Me", Megan said.
