Chapter 6
Citadel Ruins; Oa (Sector 0)
Hal's eyes shot open, looking around he saw what appeared to be the ruins of a great city. Around him were several sleeping other aliens, some of them were different species, all of them had chains.
Taking a moment to analyze the situation, Hal noticed a massive building in the distance, or at least what was left of a massive building. On top of it was a large metal dome, almost as if it was designed to hold something.
Hal took slow steps, careful not to wake anyone up. Hal squinted to the closest collapsed structure, noticing what appeared to be the symbol of the Green Lantern Corps.
"Where am I?" he asked himself in a whisper.
Hal was taken out of his thoughts as all the aliens began to get up at the sound of large metal footsteps. Turning around quickly Hal saw a Manhunter standing in front of a large doorway.
As the aliens crammed into each other, Hal noticed he still had his ring on. Quickly, he took it off and shoved it into his pocket.
The Manhunter then began to say something, but Hal couldn't understand what it was saying. He noticed several Aliens talking to each other, but again, he couldn't understand them.
Soon, the Manhunter began taking the aliens out of the collapsed building that they were in and into the outside. Hal followed shortly behind them, examining his surroundings. Once he reached the door way, the Manhunter held its hand up, Hal turned to see a pick axe in the large robot's hand. Understanding the situation, Hal took the pick axe and kept walking following the Aliens.
Underground mines; Oa
The group was lead into a large cavern where they began to pick at rocks. Hal continued looking around, seeing several aliens seemingly argue with one the Manhunters before being incinerated.
Choosing to focus on his own work, Hal kept to himself, listening as best he could, trying not to draw too much attention to himself.
Several hours in, Hal noticed several aliens pushing into each other. Hal nearly tripped as one of the aliens shoved right into him.
"Watch where you're going" the alien threatened him. Hal raised a brow, then, he noticed a bright green glow coming from his pocket. His ring was charging up.
Mess hall; Oa
The aliens moved around, grabbing their food. Hal walked up to see a large alien serving him a bowl of soup filled with body parts. Squinting his nose in disgust, Hal took his meal and headed to the nearest table.
Sitting down, Hal listened to one of the aliens "You really think it's true?"
"Yeah, I know a guy who says he saw two of them going around to different planets." Another alien responded.
"Why would two Lanterns be going to different planets?"
"Who knows? All I know is that they don't stay for long."
"Last I heard, the Green Lanterns were all killed." A third alien joined the conversation.
"I wouldn't be surprised if there was one here, right now." A fourth one spoke up. Hal turned to his pocket, noticing his ring continue to glow. Turning his head out a nearby window, he saw the large dome he had seen in the morning.
A Manhunter then came into the Mess hall and the aliens rose from their seats and walked back to the mines. As the aliens began to exit out, Hal realized that whatever was beneath that dome, it was charging his ring.
