AN: This is only a short update, I didnt want to pad it out any longer that felt necessary. I will make sure to update again either later today or tomorrow to make up for the lack of context in this one!
Chapter Five
Just Fall
Henry stepped through Elizabeth's front door and was amazed by how spotless the place was. Almost like everything was untouched and nobody lived there. When his eyes focused a little more he noted the lack of furniture and "homely" feeling to the place. He looked around and noted that she still had boxes of things piled in the corner; items he gathered were still yet to be unpacked from when she moved months ago. He turned to face her and tilted his head to the side, his eyes narrowing as he looked at her.
"I know I know it's a mess" she held her hands up and laughed awkwardly
"Elizabeth you haven't unpacked, how long ago did you move?" He laughed a little as she rolled her eyes
"Well, I was doing it slowly and then something came up and well then I met you and things have been a little confusing, I haven't got my head around unpacking the rest yet" she admitted standing just before him, her hand hesitantly hovering above his chest.
"Why confusing?" His tone lowered, he placed the palm of his hand over the back of hers and pushed it down to his chest, reassuring her everything was ok. Her fingers immediately reached for his collar and she began to tease the material between her fingers, her finger tips lightly brushing his collarbone every so often.
"Let's not have this conversation now" she mumbled looking up to him her eyes full of admiration but sadness. Something Henry noticed often with her. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in close. Their eyes closing at the contact, the realisation that home doesn't have to be a place, it can be a person. Elizabeth pulled back and smiled softly
"Drink?" Henry nodded and loosened his grip on her following her to the kitchen.
"I guess you not having unpacked gives me an excuse to come over often and help" he teased
"Well played MccCord" she laughed making them a drink before joining him at the kitchen table. She slid his mug over and watched the contoured look appear on his face.
'What?' She raised her eyebrow at him, a smirk spreading across her face as his smile widened
'Just thinking how beautiful you are' he muttered causing Elizabeth to giggle, her head dipping forward and her hair falling covering her face. Henry shifted in his seat dnd brushed her hair behind her ear, the gentle touch of his hand against her skin sending shivers down her spine, her stomach fluttered as she looked at him
'Henry' she whispered, a strong urge to open up and talk to him washing over her, why? What was that about? She thought to herself.
'Tell me' Henry whispered in her ear, sensing she wanted to talk. She shook her head doubting her ability to open her mouth and speak to him. He continued to stroke her hair, offering comfort and reassurance but she stood up, walking away, Henry followed and grabbed her arm
'Elizabeth don't.' he stopped her
'Don't what?'
'Don't do this, whatever is going on in that pretty little head of yours its ok, I've said this, don't let this be how we end our evening, if you want to talk we can talk but if not that's fine I will be guided by you' his voice soothing her tightened muscles as she stood rigidly before him.
'I want to tell you Henry, I feel like there is a barrier and I want it gone, I want to, I just want to…' she began to get worked up, Henry used his grip on her wrist to pull her in and crash his lips onto her.
Her body collided with his and she responded to the kiss immediately. Her mouth parting and pressing her tongue into his mouth, Henry repeating the action his tongue tasing her divine taste as he groaned into her, pulling her body even closer. Her hands roamed through his hair the pull in her core begging for more as she pushed her thigh between his legs, groaning in pleasure as his hands ran up and down her back.
'Henry' she moaned dipping her head back granting him access to her neck. Henry slowly kissed trails down her neck to her collarbone, and then he found the sweet spot, the one that made her go weak at the knees, hearing the soft whimpers escape her mouth made his trousers pull tighter. He groaned into her skin, as his touch melted her.
'I can't' she breathed pushing on his shoulders
'Ok, ok' he stopped and smiled at her
'Why are you smiling? Shouldn't you be annoyed at me or something?' She flustered
'Why would I be annoyed? I know where I stand you've made that clear and I respect that?' He looked confused
'Henry you need to stop being perfect because I can't stop myself'
'Stop yourself from what?' He ran his hand under her hair and lingered his hands at the back of her neck
'From falling' she whispered
'So fall with me' his voice barely there as his words sunk into her skin.
'but-'
'No buts, just fall' he whispered into the depths of her ear as their heads nuzzled together. Elizabeth relaxed into him and exhaled feeling safe in his arms. How did he do it? How did he catch her every time like that.
