Shock and confusion were the two main feelings going through the heads of every member of the Izanami Familia right now. They were feeling pretty shocked when they saw a giant of a being stepped out of the crater from their garden, also now knowing who's responsible for the hole. And they were feeling pretty damned confused when Velvet mentioned that she and Honda wanted to join their Familia.
"Could you repeat what you just said? Because I swore, I heard that you two wanted to join our Familia." Ragna demanded as he stepped closer with his blade, to the newcomers in case, they tried to do anything.
"That's what I just said." Velvet deadpanned, showing off a bit of her own snarky side.
"Then why the Hell did you crash into our garden instead of, oh you know, using the front door like any other normal person would?!" Ragna yelled at the pair.
"I didn't want to catch too much attention with the big guy here." Velvet shrugged.
"How's crashing into the garden and leaving a quake that could be felt for a couple of blocks not catching any attention?!" Ragna snapped.
"Enough Ragna." Nine ordered as Ragna looked annoyed but stood down for now. "Ignoring your incredibly illogical reasoning why did you want to join our Familia?" Nine questioned.
"We both got recommended to join you guys at the advice of one of Ezekiel's friends." Velvet replied as Izanami paid attention at that bit of detail.
"Ezekiel's involved with the one who sent you two to me?" Izanami asked as Velvet nodded at her words.
"Who's Ezekiel?" Shinobu asked, wondering who this person was to Izanami.
"Ezekiel's a retired Adventurer, who owns one of the best coffee shops in the entire city, me and Ragna had just came from there while on our shopping trip." Izanami explained.
"And why would he be involved with sending these two to us?" Nine asked pointing to Velvet and Honda.
"Ezekiel's a good friend and he's always trying to help me out and has been trying to find appropriate children for me to have when he has the time, of course he doesn't know about you guys yet." Izanami explained to the group while rubbing her head sheepishly at the second part.
"But she said a friend of Ezekiel, not Ezekiel himself though." Akame pointed out, still looking at the two with some wariness.
"Even so, they're not lying about that." Izanami said in an assuring tone to Akame. "Mortals are not capable of lying to Deities after all." She explained.
"Still they are kind of suspicious." Shinobu pointed out to Izanami.
"Maybe we can ask Ezekiel about this friend of his." Bell offered out.
"Not a bad idea, but we should have them come with us so we can keep an eye on them." Emma added in.
"Well now best keep them in our eyes and if they do want to join our Familia, they better not start any trouble." Nine said with finality in her voice.
"Will you accept that?" Izanami asked Velvet kindly. "We do have to confirm this with our eyes and ears."
Velvet looked kind of annoyed for a moment but sighed and nodded in understanding. At the same time, a mechanical noise came out from Honda as Velvet turned to him with a pat on him. "Don't worry, I will call for you for help." She assured him as Honda calmed down and turned to the others. "I will come, but Honda can't, he used up a lot of energy getting me here." She said as the others looked at each other and then decided to accept it for now since they had Velvet under their eyes as Honda made another mechanical sound. "I will be careful Honda." Velvet said in mock exasperation.
"Seems she can understand him." Nine noted as they decided to make their way, though she was curious about what kind of being Honda was since he seemed to be a sentient machine so far, there weren't a lot of people like that and it attracted Akame, Shinobu, and Ragna's attention as well as they made their way to Ezekiel.
The walk to Ezekiel's shop was a quiet and tense one, Izanami was leading the group with Bell and Emma by her side as she seemed to be unaware the tension in the group as she happily led them. Shinobu and Akame were by Velvet's side, ready to take action in case she tried to do something, whereas Ragna and Nine were in the back ready to step in if things become beyond manageable.
"So, what does this Ezekiel look like?" Nine asked Ragna deciding to break the silence, since it was getting a bit boring.
"Don't know, when me and Izanami were in, he wasn't in there, but she did tell me about the guy a bit." Ragna explained.
"Oh? Like what?" Nine asked curiously.
"The guy was a big shot Adventurer at Level 6 back in his heydays, and one of the few people to actually retired from the Adventuring Life." Ragna told her.
"Level 6 huh?" Nine said in an impressed tone. "The strongest level that I've heard of an Adventurer these days is Level 7, and there's only one and Level 6 Adventurers are plenty strong by themselves." She noted. "Anything about his personality?"
"He's nice but he has a low tolerance for stupidity and rowdy behavior." Ragna said to her.
"Seems like you two won't be getting along then." Nine smirked as Ragna rolled his eyes, clearly not caring at all.
"In addition, he also tried to help Izanami find prospective members as well for her, but he has strict standards for Izanami's Familia, like them not being morons, pricks, or attention whores. I even heard this guy was strict enough to ban two entire Familias from his place." Ragna added in.
"I see." Nine noted. "Anything else about the guy?"
"Well the one thing I did note was the place itself, and how unique it is compared to everyone else's here." Ragna whispered to her.
"What do you mean by that?" Nine asked, now intrigued.
"While it does look more like the other places here, it's also more modern in appearance, I even heard music playing, violin music at that being played in his shop, and when me and Izanami left, I could hear Jazz music being played." Ragna explained as Nine now understood why his place stood out.
"So, you think Ezekiel's like us then?" Nine whispered to Ragna as he nodded his thoughts.
"Well we're here now." Izanami said as the other members of the Familia took in the sight of Revelations Coffee Shop, as the employees were closing shop now since it was getting late.
"What a lovely place." Shinobu couldn't help but note the more modern aesthetics and how cozy the shop looked.
"The name's catchy as well." Akame noted as she looked inside and had to wipe away some drool when she saw delicious treats in there.
"I see what you mean now." Nine said to Ragna as Revelations Coffee Shop did stood out from the other places in the city.
Rain soon came outside and bowed to them before she saw who it was. "Sorry dear Customers, but we're closing shop right so I'm afraid you have to come back tomorrow to…Lady Izanami?" Rain asked in surprised as she soon looked up. "Why are you back here?" She asked.
"Well I'm here Ezekiel, since there's a few matters I wanted to discuss with him, is he in?" Izanami asked.
"Why yes he's in come on inside." Rain said as she led them in as the Familia took in the cozy and light atmosphere of Revelations shop even as they were closing up, leaving only the staff and Familia inside.
"Hello Izanami." A male and warm voice spoke up as everyone turned to see a old man in his sixties with tanned weathered skin, plenty of wrinkles, a relatively long white beard, white hair that grew out a bit but perfectly combed, with kind green eyes, wearing the Coffee Shop's manager uniform with an apron over it, while on his left hand was some kind of device gauntlet that nobody has seen before but caught the attention of more technologically minded people.
"Ezekiel!" Izanami said in joy as she went up and hugged the old man who laughed a bit heartily at her hug. "I'm glad you're doing okay."
"As if I would not be doing okay." Ezekiel smiled as he turned to her Familia. "And who are they?" He asked.
"They're my children Ezekiel." Izanami said happily as she pointed to most of them. "I've finally gained my own children." She said looking happily.
Ezekiel let out a loud happy laugh at that. "Well congratulations Izanami! To celebrate this moment, everything's on the house for you and your Familia tonight." He ordered as some of them looked rather excited.
"Thank you very much Ezekiel, but there's something that I need to ask you." Izanami said as she looked more serious, catching his attention.
"Yes, and that is?"
"That girl and her companion who's not here right now." Izanami said pointing to Velvet sitting calmly at a table. "Came to my home and asked to join my Familia after being directed there by one of your friends." Izanami explained.
"Is that so?" Ezekiel nodded as he turned to Velvet, and away went the friendly Coffee Shop Manager with little tolerance for stupidity and rowdy behavior and out came Ezekiel, the Level 6 Adventurer. "And pray tell which one of my friends sent you and your companion to Izanami?"
Velvet looked tense as she knew instinctually that this man was the Predator and she was the Prey. "I was sent to Izanami by a man that goes by the name of Courier Six." She said as Ezekiel relaxed now, allowing her to breath more easily as some of the Familia members wonder what kind of name was Courier Six.
"I see, Courier Six is a great man and one with incredibly integrity." Ezekiel nodded. "So, tell me your name and the name of your companion lass." He requested.
Velvet smiled a bit as she thought about Six as she told him the names. "My name is Velvet Crowe and my companion is Honda Tadakatsu, who's at the Izanami House." She explained.
"Ah yes now." Ezekiel nodded as he went back to being the Coffee Shop Manager. "Six did mention that he was sending two people to join up with Izanami, but I had assumed you would arrive later."
"So, she's being truthful?" Izanami asked.
"Yes, she is, you can all stop worrying now, she won't pose any threat to you." Ezekiel told the others as they relaxed now knowing Velvet wasn't a threat. "I had planned on tell you tomorrow since I assumed, they would take a bit of time to get to you, but here we are and you're with Children of your own already." Ezekiel smiled as he patted Izanami on the shoulder.
"I feel very blessed with these children Ezekiel, and I wouldn't trade them for anything." Izanami speaking like a true mama. "And so many children in such a short time too."
"I had thought I would be the one getting you your first children but as it turns out you found some of your own." Ezekiel laughed.
"Oh, it was Argo who actually introduced them to me." Izanami clarified.
"Argo eh? That lass could never turn around from an opportunity to make money when she can." Ezekiel chuckled. "So how much did she demand from you?" He asked the Familia as they were all relaxing now and Velvet made herself comfortable.
"One hundred Valis for each of us." Nine explained as Ezekiel looked surprised to hear that.
"Only a hundred Valis? She usually charges a lot more than that for her services." Ezekiel noted.
"I wonder what made her decide to give you a discount." Izanami wondered, knowing that Argo preferred getting paid a lot over giving out any form of discount.
"I have a few questions for you if you don't mind asking." Velvet spoke up as she turned to Ezekiel.
"And that is?"
"Your friend, Six, he said that you were like us." She said as everyone looked confused whereas Ezekiel had a nod of comprehension.
"Ezekiel, what is she talking about?" Izanami asked.
"It's nothing to worry about at all Izanami, it's just some info relevant to her, Honda, me, and a good number of your Children, specifically, those four." Ezekiel said pointing to Ragna, Nine, Shinobu, and Akame, making them tense up for a bit.
"What do you mean by that?" Izanami asked, still worried.
"You better tell us what you mean." Ragna growled.
"Like I said, it's nothing to worry about." Ezekiel said calmly.
"Then explain what Velvet means by being the same as her, and you mentioning us." Nine demanded with a frown.
"It's rather simple, save for the two kids over there." He said pointing to Bell and Emma as they looked worried. "All of whom I mentioned do not hail from this world at all." He explained as that caught everyone off guard and how he knew that.
"What do you mean they're not from this world?" Izanami asked in confusion.
"So that's what he meant." Shinobu said as she turned to her fellow peers that also came from a different reality of sorts.
"To answer your question Lady Izanami, this world as you call it, is one of countless worlds and realities that exists." Ezekiel explained. "There are countless worlds in which history, people, culture, and more are rather similar to each other with a few key differences, or they're so radically different that you can't help but wonder how a world turns out the way it does." Ezekiel explained not just for Izanami's sake but also for Bell and Emma's sake as well. "Most worlds that I've heard of don't have a Dungeon like this world and Gods are merely relegated to being myths and folklore."
"I see." Izanami said as she was deep in thought. "I have heard of other Gods back in Heaven interested in exploring the possibility of other worlds, but they decided against it, since we don't know what kind of effect would happen if Gods try to visit other worlds or how the native Gods would take it."
"Well even if you wanted to, it wouldn't be possible through theoretical conjecture of both myself and my Gods, it's considered impossible for Gods to traverse to other realities as not only is each world separated by time and space, but also each world has their own unique protective features, I've heard that some can vary from gates to actual guardian beings protecting the world from outside influences." Ezekiel explained as Nine eagerly took note of all this info. "However, there's no such thing as a perfect defense and sometimes cracks open up and they will allow others to slip through like us."
"That theory sounds good." Nine admitted. "But one thing though, I don't know about you, Akame, Shinobu, or even Velvet and Honda's case, but me and Ragna were dead before we came here." She said as she looked a bit down with Ragna surprisingly offering her a comforting hand on her shoulder, which she accepted, dying sucked a lot and Ragna's case was far worse than hers, at least she had people who remembered her, Ragna doesn't even have that. He went through a lot, and yet he was still stable, which is why she knew that Ragna was perhaps stronger than her in that way.
Emma, Bell, and Izanami gasped at what they heard as Ezekiel nodded. "My case is like theirs." Shinobu said quietly as she thought about those she left behind.
"I just suddenly found myself here." Akame added in.
"I…was suppose to be dead as well." Velvet said quietly and sorrowfully.
"Well I am sorry to hear that." Ezekiel said. "At least it correlates with my other theory that for the most part, people like us usually end up here after we supposedly died." He explained as Izanami, Bell, and Emma looked shocked. "I myself died due to a combination of age, exhaustion, and sickness finally taking me down." Ezekiel explained. 'At least I wasn't killed by those damned Talon Company Mercs or those Super Mutants, and was surrounded by my family.' He thought. "Courier Six was killed destroying a large-scale Slaving Operation back in his world." He added in.
"But…why did they ended up here?" Bell asked solemnly.
"I don't know for sure; it could be fate giving us a second chance, or a chance at a happier life, or our world's gods taking pity on us or something." Ezekiel shrugged though he did note that Ragna and Nine snorted at the last one. 'Gods aren't so kind in their world then.'
"But to think half of my children died before coming here." Izanami sniffled as Shinobu offered a comforting pat on the shoulder.
"There's nothing to cry about, getting a second chance is something impossible for a great deal of many people." Shinobu said kindly. 'Like my sister and Rengoku.' She thought.
"But…what about the people you left behind?" Bell couldn't help but ask.
Ragna tightened the grip on his other hand as it was Nine's turn to give Ragna a pat on the shoulder. "They will mourn our deaths, but even so, they will accept and move on." He said as he struggled not to let his inner turmoil come loose at what he had to give up to assure the safety of his world.
"It's sad and tragic, but life is never truly that kind." Nine sighed.
"I know that, but I'm a Goddess of Death…I know how loved ones take it when someone passes and dies, and it always makes me sad when that happens." Izanami said as she wiped away the tears from her eyes.
The group was silent for bit due to how low the mood was. "Even so." Ezekiel spoke as they turned to him. "Partings are painful, but they do happen, but that doesn't mean you can't try to make more memories that are wonderful as well." Ezekiel said wisely as he smiled to all of them. "That's why you have your Familia, to rely on and to support each other with." He said making everyone nod as they felt their moods being back up.
"Mister Ezekiel, how could you tell that Shinobu, Ragna, Nine, and Akame were not from this world." Emma asked as everyone was curious about it.
"Well it mainly has to do with my Skill honestly, I was adapt at tracking people back in my old life and other items too that when I came here, it became a Skill and over the years it evolved into what it is that it allows me to recognize other outsiders like myself." Ezekiel explained.
"So, you've met others like you as well then?" Emma asked.
"Correct, we call people that ended up here Drifters, so by that count all of you are Drifters as well." Ezekiel said to Shinobu, Akame, Ragna, Nine, and Velvet. "And I have meet Drifters both good and bad." He explained.
"What do you mean by that?" Bell asked.
"Well sorry to break it to you, but not everyone who ended up here is a good guy, Drifters come from all walks of life, some are good like your fellows, while others were rotten oranges and had to be put down." Ezekiel explained thinking about some of the worse Drifters he had met. "And some would have continued to be even worse since some of them became Adventurers and got on a power high as well."
"I see." Nine nodded, understanding his reasons.
"It's usually because Drifters are typically strong people, some of whom could give even level 4 Adventurers a run for their money." Ezekiel revealed as a good number of them gasped at how strong some Drifters could be. "Others are forced into Familias against their will as well, that is why me, Six, and a select few have taken up the task to search for those Drifters and help them adjust to this world." Ezekiel explained as he turned to the Drifters in the room. "If I had been aware of you earlier, I would have done all in my power to have helped you."
"You really are noble, Ezekiel." Izanami smiled. "There are some Gods that would take advantage of such people."
"Thank you for your kind words Lady Izanami." Ezekiel nodded. "While it's not that common for Drifters to appear, the vast majority of them that do appear just simply want to live a normal life after what they've been through, but those that want be something else are usually sent here by Six and some of my other trusted comrades." He explained.
"So, after Six vetted them through, he sent Velvet and Hondo my way then." Izanami realized.
"Yes, back in my world, I had promised to go on an adventure with some dear friends of mine, but since that's no longer possible I had decided I would do so with my new family." Velvet nodded. "I don't know about Honda's reasons though."
"Very well then Velvet, I welcome you to my Familia." "Izanami smiled.
"Thank you." Velvet said with a small smile of her own.
"I don't know much about you, but Six always had a sharp eye for people's character and if he sent you to Izanami then that means you and Honda are good folks." Ezekiel nodded. "Well now then, to celebrate you getting your children, we're also celebrating you getting new members as well." Ezekiel said with a smile. "So tonight, everything's on the House!" He declared.
Everyone was excited to try out some of the food here and made their orders known to Ezekiel as he served them various drinks and food from his menu with everyone enjoying the food.
"Damn, this Coffee is amazing." Ragna sighed as he ate the cake that came along with it.
"It's so sweet!" Akame and Emma squealed eating one of the cheese cakes.
"My, I haven't eaten anything that tasted as good as this." Shinobu commented as she put her other hands on her cheek as she looked to be enthralled eating a slice of red velvet cake.
"So good!" Bell nearly cried out eating some chocolate cake.
"This really is good." Nine said with a bit of a small smile on her face as she enjoyed her tiramisu and coffee drink.
"I…I can actually taste it." Velvet said in awe, and looked close to crying as she stared at her slice of strawberry vanilla cake. "I can taste the food."
"You compliment an old man well." Ezekiel chuckled. "A lot of them are recipes from my own world." He said to them. 'And a good number of them I had to scavenge to find actual cook books.' He thought as he also took the occasional glances at Bell.
"Um excuse me Ezekiel?" Bell spoke up as he turned to him. "Why are you looking at me from time to time?" He asked nervously.
Ezekiel was silent before he decided to ask him a question. "What's your name boy?" He asked.
"Oh, my name? My name is Bell Cranel." As Ezekiel let out a happy laugh as soon as he heard the name.
"Bell Cranel eh? Guess you must be Meteria's son then, you do look a lot like her." Ezekiel said in a reminiscing tone.
"You knew my mom?" Bell asked in surprise.
"Of course, I do, she was an Adventurer I became friends with back when I was still active." Ezekiel explained.
"Can you please tell me about her?" Bell asked eagerly as Ezekiel looked confused.
"What do you mean by that? Shouldn't you know about your mom?" He questioned.
"Um, Grandpa never really spoke much about her." Bell explained as Ezekiel looked annoyed as he let out a sigh.
"That stupid old pervert." He grumbled.
"You knew my grandfather?" Bell asked in surprise.
"Of course, I do, you would be hard pressed to find anyone that doesn't know Zeus and his Familia." He let out a big bombshell.
"WHAT!" Nearly everyone shouted as they looked at Ezekiel in surprise.
"Your grandfather is Zeus? Why didn't you tell me?" Izanami asked in surprise.
"I didn't know that." Bell protested.
"He honestly didn't tell you?" Ezekiel asked in surprise. "Then why did you come here?"
"I came here after gramps died, I wanted to fulfill my promise to him." Bell explained.
"Zeus is dead?" Ezekiel asked skeptically. "Did you even see him die or saw a body?" He questioned.
Well, they said he was killed by a wild bear." Bell explained as Ezekiel scoffed.
"Zeus killed by a bear?" He said in disbelief. "I've seen the old man got a nice beating by Level 9 Adventurers, even Hera for all her nasty stuff couldn't kill the old geezer permanently, he's way too stubborn to die."
"Wait…then that means he ditched me!" Bell said in sorrow as he fell to his knees as everyone looked at him awkwardly as Ezekiel sighed.
"Well sorry to hear that kid, but knowing the geezer, he likely had a reason to do what he did back then, as obnoxious as he was, he was that kind of guy." He said comfortingly as Bell accepted it and got back up.
"Wait, how did you know Zeus?" Nine asked.
"I may not have been part of his Familia, but I did cross paths with them and the Hera Familia quite often, my Tracking Skill made me invaluable and so I rubbed shoulders with the two strongest Familias back in my day." Ezekiel explained.
"Whoa." Everyone nearly said at once, knowing that a legend from the glory days of those two Familias were around them.
"Well at least I know gramps is alive…can't tell if I want to hug him or hurt him If I meet him again" Bell said in annoyance.
"Well I would go with punching the old geezer." Ezekiel said at once. "Might help you out if need be." He added in.
"Well thanks for telling me, at least I know my parents were part of the Zeus Familia." Bell said as Ezekiel shook his head.
"Actually, your dad came from the Zeus Familia, your mom was part of the Hera Familia." He explained.
"How's that possible?" Izanami asked. "Hera dislikes Zeus and would refuse to let any of her children have anything to do with him or his Familia."
"Beats me." Ezekiel shrugged. "Personally, I always thought it had more to do with your mom kiddo." Ezekiel said as Bell looked hopeful now.
"Can you please tell me about my parents?" He pleaded.
"Sure, you should know about you parents to be honest." Ezekiel started off. "Well, your mom Meteria was born with a weak body, so most of the time she had to stay in the Her Familia Housing, and couldn't even leave the room without help." He explained as everyone felt a bit sad for Bell's mom. "But that never stopped her from being the kindest person I have ever met in my life." Ezekiel said with a smile. She was so kind to not just her Familia but also to stranger as well, that just about everyone liked her, including Hera, who tried everything she could to help your mother out."
"She must be a special person for Hera to go that far for her." Izanami noted as Bell looked happy.
"Aye, she was. And she was very kind to me as well, even when I was starting off and had an incredibly difficult time finding a Familia." Ezekiel explained as everyone looked at him in surprise. "Are you honestly that shocked? There's a good number of Familias that didn't accept members, most of them because they only care about strength, and me being an old man back then even made it less likely for me to join up with any Familia, but she encouraged me and offered me kind words that eventually I was able to persevere and join up with one. And after that, I managed to make my way to becoming the Level 6 Adventurer that you see before you." He explained as everyone was in awe, if he was old back then, and still managed to make it to Level 6, they shuddered at how strong he could have been if he was actually brought to this world in his prime.
"She really did sound like a wonderful woman." Shinobu noted.
"Yes, she was, but pray that you don't ever touch her favorite food." Ezekiel warned as he shuddered as he remembered a terrifying memory.
"Why was that?" Shinobu couldn't help but ask.
"Despite how kind she was, she still had a pretty damn scary side to her, when you make her angry, sickness be damned. I've seen and cleaned up after her berserk moments many times in my life." Ezekiel said with a shudder as he saw the curious looks. "Back when I couldn't find a Familia to join, I did part time jobs before I took up a job from the Hera Familia to act as Meteria's caretaker and so I am quite aware of her quirks." He explained.
"How bad was she when she got angry?" Akame asked.
"Bad enough that Hera always got on her knees and begged for mercy." Ezekiel said as everyone couldn't help but wonder what kind of woman Bell's mom was to make even a Goddess beg for mercy.
"Wait, Hera did that?" Izanami asked in disbelief. "That Hera?" She asked as he nodded.
"Damn kid, you got one hell of a scary momma." Ragna noted with an impressed tone towards Bell, who looks kind of proud of his mom's strength.
"So, what can you tell me about my father?" Bell asked as Ezekiel lost the fond look and just gained an exasperated face.
"Seriously, I still wondered to this day as to how your mom and dad got together. Or how he managed to get her to fall for him." He sighed.
"Was Bell's dad a bad person?" Emma asked.
"He was a cowardly pervert." Ezekiel said in his most deadpanned voice ever. "That guy would always run away at the first sign of trouble, and would go sneaking off with Zeus to peak at women in the baths, hot springs, beach, when they're changing, you name it."
"So, he was a degenerate then." Nine said sharply as Emma and Shinobu looked at Bell wearily with blushes on their faces. Whereas Bell, at first, he was happy to hear about his mom, but became embarrassed when they started talking about his dad.
"Well, in terms of appearance, Bell certainly looks a lot like his mom, but he has his dad's eyes for sure." Ezekiel noted.
"Well do you know what happened to them?" Emma asked as she tried to ignore the fact that Bell's dad was a pervert.
"Meteria passed away due to her illness." Ezekiel said sadly. "There was nothing anyone could have done, not even Miach or Dian Cecht could have helped her."
"Not even they could have helped Bell's mom?" Izanami asked in disbelief.
"None. And I tried using knowledge from my world to save her as well, but all I could do was buy her some more time." Ezekiel sighed highly frustrated by his failure to do anything.
"Well thank you for trying." Bell said gratefully. "And what about my dad?" He asked.
"The Black Dragon happened." He said darkly as everyone went silent as they knew what happened, even Velvet knew after being told by Courier Six.
"So why was Zeus left to raise Bell instead of Hera?" Izanami asked. "I imagine Hera would have raised Bell herself if she could."
"It was Meteria's wish for Bell to be raised by Zeus." Ezekiel explained. "Not even Hera would content with that."
"I'm surprised that he raised Bell as well as he did." Izanami noted. "Zeus was always a pervert, even back on Heaven where he would try to peek on me and the other Goddesses changing." She said in an amused tone.
"I hope you haven't picked up any of your grandfather's bad habits now Bell." Nine said with a scary and dark smile as did Shinobu did as well. "Otherwise we'll have to create a new training regime just for you." She said darkly.
"I'm not doing anything like that!" Bell yelped quickly.
"Good, now why do you think Zeus never told Bell about his parents?" Shinobu asked Ezekiel.
"My best guess? The pain of losing his entire Familia was rather devastating." Ezekiel sighed. "Say what you want about Zeus, but he really did love his Familia, and when you lose someone important to you, a part of you just break and unlike items and the likes, people can't recover or be fixed up so easily." Ezekiel said showing his understanding of the subject as he turned to Bell. "But remember this Bell, you parents were Adventurers from both the Zeus and Hera Familia. You are their Legacy boy, and you should live up to it." Ezekiel said to Bell.
As everyone turned to Bell, they could see how much being their Legacy meant to Bell. And after a while of partying at Revelations, the Izanami Familia returned home with Velvet and Honda getting ready to receive their Falna tomorrow since they were all a bit tired. And Bell couldn't help but think of what he is.
Sure, his Grandpa pulled a dick move by faking his death but when he said to Bell that he was to be a Hero, he realized that he had the blood of two Adventurers that came from two of the most powerful Familias of their time. This is what his grandpa hoped for him, and now he swore he would become a Hero to make not only his parents proud but also his grandfather proud as well. He will carry on the legacy of the Zeus and Hera Familia and he will do it with his Familia.
"I'd never thought that my Familia would grow so fast." Izanami said happily as the next day arrived and Velvet and Honda officially joined them and they were all eating together at the table, save for Honda, who was too big to fit in the door but Velvet mentioned he was okay being outside.
"Yes, but that does bring up a new problem." Nine said as she finished her breakfast. "Including Izanami, there nine of us here, and not enough room, especially considering the big guy." Nine pointed out. "Though Velvet did mention Honda didn't need a room." She added in as Velvet nodded.
"Could we get more room?" Shinobu asked.
"The price of a good house is about 800,000 Valis." Nine sighed. "To renovate to gain more space, is not cheap either."
"And even if we wanted to get a new home, this place was a gift from one of Izanami's friends." Emma pointed out. "By the way Izanami, which God got you this house?" She asked.
"Its Goibniu." Izanami replied. "His Familia also work in construction in addition to making gear."
"Explains why he can give you such a home." Ragna noted.
"We could probably ask him to renovate the place, but we're going to need a lot of money." Nine said.
"Meaning we need to gather lots of materials from the Dungeon." Bell stated as she nodded.
"Correct, but for the time being, we should stop recruiting as well, until we're in a better situation." Nine said to the group who nodded.
"Indeed, we need to train up Emma and Bell so they can go deeper with us, and having too many members would divide our time as well." Shinobu nodded.
"We also need to test out Honda and Velvet's capabilities to see how far they can go." Nine added in. "I imagine they could go pretty far due to being Drifters." She commented.
"In addition, we need to keep up with training Emma and Bell, I suggest we up the difficulty count a bit." Akame added in as Nine nodded.
"That could work, but I do need to see what Velvet and Honda are capable of." Nine replied.
"Me and Honda are not pushovers." Velvet answered.
"If that's the case then maybe we could take them down deeper." Nine commented.
"It might be too dangerous, so don't go too far." Izanami said in worry.
"It depends on their skills Izanami." Nine replied.
"Please don't, this is your second lives for a good number of you, so don't waste it." Izanami said sadly.
"Don't worry, we won't waste it." Shinobu said reassuringly as the bell ringed catching everyone by surprise.
"Expecting anyone?" Bell asked as Izanami shook her head.
"Wonder who it is." Shinobu asked as she opened the door to reveal a girl with long orange brownish chestnut hair, hazel eyes, fair skin, wearing a dark red tunic, with a lightweight copper breastplate, leather pants, knee length boots, and a hooded cape.
"Excuse me, is this the Izanami Familia?" She asked as everyone nodded wondering why. "My name is Yuuki Asuna, and I wish to join." She said as Shinobu turned around to see that Izanami was very confused.

The streets of Orario were busy and crowded with people going to the Dungeon, buying groceries, gathering supplies, and more. However, the crowd quickly made way for a group heading towards the Dungeon as they stared at the group with awe, fear, and worries, or more specifically a large someone in the group.
"Seems like jut about everyone's ready to run away." Nine chuckled a bit in amusement.
"Oh, I wonder why?" Ragna snarked back as the reason was obvious since behind him was one of their newest members. Honda was a massive eight meters tall and covered from head to toe in armor, while using a spear that had a drill at the end, making it look less like a spear and more of a drill. He also looked like he could send anyone flying with his large build, making people nervous about him and getting out of his way.
"Is this a normal thing?" Asuna asked sensing the tension.
"This is a new one." Bell said nervously at the pointed looks.
"Velvet and Honda joined us yesterday, well more specifically last night." She explained.
"Oh" Asuna nodded.
"I think this will be the new norm from now on." Velvet noted in amusement as she checked her Blade Gauntlet which had the Unnamed Blade in it. She also noted that her Blade Gauntlet was still in perfect condition, but wasn't quite so when she got here, and Courier Six had to fix it, and added in some minor modifications to make it better, then fix her and Honda up, feed her, then gave her info, gave her directions, and even gave her a nice amount of money too.
"Are you okay up there Izanami?" Shinobu called out to the excited Goddess who was sitting on Honda's shoulder, and another reason why they attracted a lot of looks.
"I'm fine, this is wonderful!" She said happily. "You should try it when you can."
"I think I'll pass." Akame said quickly.
"Wait till you see he flies." Velvet noted with a smirk. "That's a whole different experience."
"Really?! Maybe I'll try that out!" Izanami said excitedly.
"This is going to be a long walk isn't it?" Ragna sighed as the Bell, Emma, and Asuna laughed a bit as the group finally arrived at the Guild and while they still attracted looks, it a great deal of many Adventurers had their hands on their weapons or Spell Foci.
"Hello Miss Eina." Bell greeted their adviser who was doing some paperwork.
"Oh, hello Bell how are-aargh!" Eina stopped to greet but then freaked out upon seeing Honda staring at her with Izanami on his shoulder still as the rest of the Guild Staff close to Eina looked and gasped at the massive size of Honda.
"We can explain him." Nine said casually as Bell laughed somewhat nervously and proceeded to give Eina the explanation.
"So, to clarify." Eina sighed as they sat in a conference room outside the Guild Hall where Honda could fit in. "These three are your new members." She said pointing to Velvet, Honda, and Asuna, who waved at her.
"Yep." Nine responded.
"Velvet and Honda joined last night and Asuna joined this morning."
"Correct." Ragna answered.
Eina sighed as she turned to Izanami. "You are very lucky Izanami to start off with six and then gain three more, your Familia is growing very fast." She noted.
"I know, I am very lucky." Izanami said happily.
"At any rate, I just need info on your newest members and I must firmly suggest you don't head down the Lower Floors." Eina said with a gleam in her glasses.
"Don't worry, we plan to stay in the Upper Floors, we still need to see what our newest members are capable of." Nine assureds, as Eina nodded, and to be fair, the first twelve Floors were considered Upper Floors.
"Oh yes, I also need the Guild to take down my Notice now." Izanami added in.
"I understand, getting so many members so quickly can be straining on logistics." Eina nodded.
"Asuna was simply lucky to come to my house pretty early and that I still had room." Izanami commented. Asuna had came into the city rather late yesterday and decided to start her search with the Notices that Gods have put up, and stopped by Izanami's place first, Izanami was thinking about refusing but because Honda preferred to stay outside, there was still room for her. Even so, if Asuna had been refused by her, she would have directed her to Hestia. Of course, Izanami hoped that Hestia found her own children as soon as possible, if not then she could ask Ezekiel to send some prospective candidates to Hestia.

The loud sound of a Kobold smashing against the wall was heard by the entire Izanami Familia, as they winced at the damage done. As the Kobold was revealed to had its lower jaw completely ripped apart and all of its limbs crushed with blood flowing from its eyes before it died.
When they first entered the Dungeon, they let Honda go first to see what he was capable of, the results were astonishing, he was surprisingly agile for his size as he spun his Drill Spear and calmly cut down every monster sent his way, and if they didn't get cut, they were smashed up by the butt of his spear. He then drilled a line of Kobold and sent them flying off of his spear and when other monsters came like the Dungeon Lizard, he grabbed them by the neck and crushed it, when dealing with a Kobold, he stabbed its legs then used both hands to rip off the Kobold's head off with ease.
"We cleared the first four Floors with ease with just Honda." Akame noted with wide eyes at him.
"Should we stop here?" Asuna asked as they reached the stairs to the Fifth Floor.
"No, since we plan to go to the twelfth Floor." Nine said.
"Wait what?" Asuna yelped.
"Well since you're new here along with Velvet and Honda, let me fill you in, just about everyone here besides Emma and Bell can reach the Sixteenth Floor." Nine explained. "But Velvet and Honda are already plenty capable as well." Nine mused. 'If we go by what Ezekiel told us about Drifters in general.' She thought.
"Seriously?" Asuna asked with wide eyes.
"Seriously." Shinobu nodded. "For the time being, just stay with us for now." Shinobu said.
"Is it okay for me to go down there?" Asuna asked nervously.
"Don't worry Asuna, me and Emma are rookies just like you." Bell said kindly as Emma nodded as the group headed down the Fifth Floor, which it was a nice green color.
"Monsters approaching, Velvet, show us what you can do." Nine ordered as the girl stepped up with her Blade Gauntlet ready.
"What are the monsters that this floor is capable of spawning?" She asked.
"On this Floor, you will see War Shadows and Frog Shooters, War Shadows are living shadows that are extremely resistant to regular attacks but weak to magic attacks and they have an eye that looks like a giant crystal, which is their mean weak point. Frog Shooters are giant frogs that try to grab people with their tongues and swing them around or eat them." Nine explained.
Soon a loud noise can be heard as multiple monsters could be heard coming. "A Monster Party?" Ragna muttered as Nine nodded.
"Monster Party?" Shinobu asked.
"It's a name for when the Dungeon spawns out more monsters than it is normal and come out in large numbers." Nine explained.
"Should we go back?" Bell asked nervously.
"No, for now let me and Honda will stay in the back for now, but also Asuna, you take on the Goblins and Kobolds, while Velvet shows us her skills, everyone, get ready for some fun." Nine ordered as they all got ready as the large Monster Party arrived as everyone took on a foe or guarding the back.
Velvet charged instantly as her speed allowed her to jump or slide under monsters as she made deep cuts into them and did a cartwheel and kicking a Goblin trying to get her from behind as she confronted a War Shadow who growled at her. Then it sent out its shadowy tendrils as Velvet blocked with her Blade Gauntlet and dodged and seemingly rushing around all of its tendrils before she got close in and thrusted forward with her blade and stabbed the eye of the War Shadow and instantly killing it.
Shinobu simply twirled her blade casually as she made multiple stabs, thrusts, and other piercing attacks as she passed by her share of monsters, as her coat seemingly fluttered around her, making her look like a butterfly of prey as the poison she worked with coursed into each monster and ended up killing them.
Akame just unsheathed her blade and used her flexibility to get into advanced forms and acrobatic maneuvers as she calmly and casually slashed each monster before her with the poison from her blade instantly working through each monster as she calmly dodged every attempt to strike her or casually deflected each blow with her blade to throw the monster off guard and then slash its neck with her red eyes gleaming ominously in the Dungeon.
Ragna just went with overwhelming strength as his large sword bisected the larger enemies and he crushed the monsters before him with his power and kicked them when they got too close, or if Ragna decided to be funny, uppercut them hard enough to send them smashing through the ceiling and was surrounded by monsters that charged at him, but he quickly swung his blade and killing them all as he casually planted his blade on his shoulder.
Bell and Emma were quickly making use of their agility and speed that they gained from training and worked together to cut through multiple monsters at once, and while they didn't instant kill them, it made things easier for Asuna, as she used a rapier and thrusted through the injured monsters or if she was feeling good enough, used her speed to cut off the heads of the monsters to kill them.
Nine just stood back with Honda, nodding at what she saw, taking notes of the skills of her Familia so she can check out the data back home so she can make plans for what to do next on their journey down into the Dungeon, she also looked down and saw a lot of Drop Items as well, so she smirked at the reward they'll be bringing.
Eina could feel her eyes twitching, as her coworkers looked at her in worry, knowing she was trying to stay calm but failing to do so as her grip on her pen was very tight and the poor pen looked close to snapping. "If I remember correctly Nine, I believed you said your Familia only intend to stay on the upper Floors." She gritted out in anger.
"That's right." Nine smiled proudly.
"And you decided to bring your new Familia members with you as well." Eina growled out as Nine nodded. "And you thought that was okay?" She nearly yelled but controlled herself as she looked at the Izanami Familia, all of whom looked pretty okay, with the exception of Bell and Emma who looked a bit worn out, but that was nothing compared to how exhausted Asuna looked, who had to sit down to regain her energy.
"And they are very good." Nine added in as she brought out today's spoils. "We got lots of Drop Items and we did stay in the upper Floors after all, since you know, the first twelve Floors are called that." Nine pointed out the loophole.
Her pen snapped and soon the Izanami Familia, mainly Nine since she was the Captain, were subjected to her angry lecturing.
"Did you really have to do that to Eina? She's just worried and trying to do her job." Izanami asked as her Familia came back to their house and told her of what happened as she looked kind of disapproving.
"It's fine, nothing bad happen and we did get a lot of loot for our work since everyone pulled their weight after all." Nine assured the Death Goddess.
"I hope this doesn't happen every day." Asuna sighed as she was laid out on the couch, due to how exhausting it was fighting in that Dungeon.
"You can take a day off tomorrow to recuperate." Shinobu offered.
"Thank you." Asuna sighed out.
"Well based on what I saw today, I believe I can adjust our plans for our Dungeon Adventures sooner than I thought." Nine commented.
"You're not planning on going past the Eighteenth Floor, are you?" Ragna questioned as he was cooking dinner, along with Velvet assisting him, since she proved to him that she was also a good cook as well and so Ragna let her help out a bit.
"I was thinking of testing our strength against the Monster Rex actually." Nine commented as Bell, Emma, and Asuna looked up wide eyed in worry. "Calm down you three, I don't plan to bring you, I think we can let you join after a couple more weeks of training." She assured them.
"What kind of insane Familia did I join?" Asuna groaned as just about everyone in the Familia besides Bell and Emma were absolute Monsters in combat, and now Nine planned to fight the Monster Rex without her, Bell, and Emma, if it was anyone else, she would have called them insane but they weren't.
As Ragna and Velvet were making the finishing touches to their dinner, Izanami decided to update the Falna on her Children, but what she saw on Bell's Falna made her gasp in surprise.
"How is this possible?" Izanami muttered.
"Is something the matter?" Bell asked in worry.
"Most of your Stats jumped up really high all of a sudden." Izanami explained looking confused at what she saw.
"Maybe it's because he went in deeper today?" Emma offered.
"But to have this much of a massive increase in stats, and gaining two Skills is unheard of though." Izanami replied.
"Wait what?!" Everyone nearly shouted at hearing Bell suddenly gaining two Skills.
Izanami quickly copied Bell's Stats Skills onto a piece of parchment before everyone could see it properly as some of them had wide eyes at what they saw. "Now that's interesting." Nine noted in surprise as she could see the two Skills.

The next chapter of the story. For the next few chapter will mainly forcus as the curent member of the Izanami familar. No new member will be join until the Danmachi plot kick in.

Yes! Bell got his two canon skill after here about his parent, I change they name but it effect still the same.
For the pairing there will be Ragna/ Nine. While Bell well he got Ryu, Emma, Syr, Ais, Asuna. Maybe I will add more girl for him like the rest of the girl in Hostess of Fertility.
