One Shot at Glory

The doors burst open as Eddy charged into the room, followed by Twiggy riding Thorns and Jesse. The smoke cleared as they were face to face with the ruler Deyo, sitting on the edge of a fountain, with his arms crossed. He was twice as big as the Trolls and had pale skin. his only clothing was a piece of black cloth wrapped around his hips and stopping at his shins. beside him was a black trident

"You know the doors weren't locked, or do you just enjoy destroying my property," Deyo said giving a glare at Eddy as the Rock Troll charged holding his sword overhead, ready to split his head. he swung down the sword which hit the fountain as the pale creature easily dodged the blow.

Eddy swung back at Deyo who simply caught the blade in his trident, spinning his weapon as the blade flew from Eddy's hands. the sword clattered on the floor as Deyo swung at Eddy, slashing into his chest. the sharp pain on a wooden spike poking into Deyo's shoulder as the Lord stepped back, pulling the wooden bolt out as he kicked Eddy to the side looking at the green Pop Troll sitting on her Growlbeast reloading her weapon as the third Troll fired a couple of bullets which Deyo blocked with his trident.

"That was a lucky shot, It won't happen again" Deyo stated, believing the reason he got shot was that he was solely focused on the Rock Troll. Twiggy shot another crossbow bolt which Deyo dodged as a slash was cut in his back. the evil creature clenched his back, a black substance oozing out of his wound.

"Never take your eyes off your opponent," Eddy said, stabbing the sword as Deyo blocked it with his hand, the blade piercing through his hand as a black liquid coved the blade as it was pushed further through Deyo's hand. Jesse took this change and fired more rounds at Deyo, hitting the creature as he let out a painful scream.

"I order you, Stop This at once" Deyo commanded to deaf ears as Eddys pulled his sword out taking a swing as Deyo blocked it with his Trident, swinging his weapon as it cut a nasty gash in the Troll's leg, making Eddy fall he gripped his injury.

"Oh for the love of Hair," Eddy said as Deyo smirked, getting ready to land the killing blow on Eddy. Even at this moment, Eddy claimed he wasn't afraid of Deyo and even if he fell the other Trolls would never stop.

"The Music of the past, they will hear it again, from their blades cutting your flesh and their hammers bringing this foul place to rubble. The music inside of us... you Can't take it away from us" Eddy said struggling to get up as Deyo wanted the savor this moment, crushing the head of the rebellion as the huge beast lunged at Deyo.

"You won't touch him" Twiggy shouted out as Deyo caught the mouth of the Growlbeast, cutting up his palms in the process as he held the beast back. Jesse fired his remaining bullets into Deyo's back as the evil creature mustered up his strength pushing the huge beast and rider into the wall as he turned around facing Jesse.

"I've had it with you," Deyo said annoyed with the Country Troll, holding up his Trident and dashing at the cowboy. The trio of spikes slashed into his side as Jesse fell over. Killing Jesse would have nowhere near as much impact as Eddy so Deyo did not even bother to savor the moment, he just gave him a second glance, stabbing into his underside to make sure he was dead.

Eddy and Twiggy just looked in shock. both were damaged from the fight and could barely stand. Deyo was also breathing heavily as Eddy stood up, feeling an intense pain but the rush was telling him to stand up and keep fighting, so much was counting on this fight, and he just saw one of his best friends die.

"THIS ENDS NOW!" Eddy called out as Deyo simply stood there, telling him that it will not end here. He told them that while they fought better than he expected this was all a part of his plan. Twiggy called his bluff and asked why he would plan this.

"Isn't it strange that I would just let you climb up my castle and dismiss most of my guards. I wasn't trying to kill you, just wear you down and stall you, and about your friend there, I may have gotten carried away at the moment" Deyo said, explaining while he welcomed their deaths his overall goal had nothing to do with killing them.

"What are you planning," Eddy demanded, his adrenaline wearing off as he fell on his knees using his sword to stand as the villain smirked, asking if they really thought he was going to explain his plan to them.

"I'll just say that this is goodbye, I have a meeting with a portal in a few moments," Deyo said, walking to the wall pushing a small button. as an array of guards stormed down the halls. A swirling vortex opened behind Deyo as he walked through it, falling into who knows where.

"Twiggy we can't let him get away," Eddy said as Twiggy whistled, Thorns ran to her side, picking up Jesse's body in her mouth as Eddy and Twiggy clung to the beast who jumped through the portal which closed behind them as the saw the guard storm the room.

The two fell through the Yellow and Blue vortex. Eddy looked around, curious as to what was happening. Twiggy explained that this was called a Wormhole, they were basically doors through time and space that could send you forward and back in time and even to alternate universes.

"I read a scrapbook about them a while back, never thought I'd actually see one," Twiggy said as Eddy saw and felt his wounds healing, which he saw as weird but did not question it. Twiggy told him and laws of nature didn't exist in wormholes, explaining while they were rapidly healing.

The two Trolls shot out of the portal hitting a soft marshy ground. Eddy got up resheathing his sword as Twiggy put her crossbow away. He asked why Thorns brought along Jesse's dead body as the Pop Troll reached into her hair pulling out a shovel, saying that Jesse deserved to be laid to rest properly. Eddy could not argue it. The two took turns digging until they had a hole deep enough for the Troll who they laid in the hole.

The two said their final words to Jesse and thanked him for his service, promising he would not be forgotten as they used their hair to push the dirt over the still and lifeless body. Twiggy arranged some stone in a circle around the hole to mark the grave.

"Okay, now to figure out where we are," Eddy said. Twiggy easily identified the area as Misty Meadows which meant they were near Troll Village. Eddy asked how they were thrown from the Cathedral To Misty Meadows, asking if this is where Deyo landed. Twiggy said since they traveled separately from him he could be somewhere else. Eddy believed the wormhole just teleported their location as Twiggy looked around.

"Wrong," The green Trolls said, picking a berry off the ground, holding it to Eddy who was lost. She explained that what she was holding was a Stoutberry which had been extinct for years as Eddy looked at the blue piece of fruit, concluding they were in the past. Eddy asked what they should do, considering they did not even know if Deyo was here.

"Well we should not draw any attention to ourselves, the last thing we want to do is change events. Since we're in Misty Meadows that means we're near Troll Village meaning if we got discovered it be easier for me, but for all that we know they've haven't even seen a Rock Troll yet, I suggest you head to outside Volcano Rock City and set up a campsite, I'll do the same here and we'll just wait for Deyo to present himself," Twiggy suggested.

"Eddy agreed saying goodbye to Twiggy as he reached into his hair, pulling a pair of Walkie Talkies, handing one to the Pop Troll as he went off. Twiggy told Thorns to stay in the meadow while she decided to go outside of the village and pick some fruit, all she found in the meadows were a few berries on the ground and no bush, meaning they were taken here. Twiggy walked around finding a bush of big red fruit.

"Mother Nature, you provide for me again," Twiggy said, walking to the bush as a piece of rope wrapped around Twiggy's ankle as it lifted her up and she hung there in the air, Twiggy dangled from the rope. reached for a dagger strapped to her thigh as she cut the rope landing back down, picking up an armful of fruit. It took more than a rope around the ankle to stop Twiggy, the troll thought walking off as a metal cage fell on her causing her to drop the berries.

"Oh Come on!" Twiggy called out looking at the cage which sealed her in place

A/N Eddy and Twiggy have surprisingly landed in the Past, they decide it is better to separate and cover more ground as well as keep an eye on things, they will soon meet the main cast (while writing this chapter I was thinking of the Song ' One Shot At Glory' by Judas Priest)
