It had been a long day at work. They had so many calls that shift. Gibson had disobeyed her orders at a 5-alarm fire and almost got himself killed. She had tons of reports to do from the calls. Not to mention that she had to leave shift in the middle of the day because her dad was at the hospital because he passed out. His chemo was getting the worst of him but at least he was almost done with it.

She had just got her beers when a man came and sat next to her.

"You must have had a hard day to need 3 beers." He said ordering one himself.

"You could say that." She said turning to look at him.

'This man is hot' she thought to herself.

"I'm Robert." He said, reaching his hand out to shake hers.

"Andy." She said, shaking his hand.

"Andy. Is that short for something?" He asked, not wanting to take his eyes off of her beautiful face.

"Yeah, it's short for Andrea." She said, taking a sip of her beer.

"That's a beautiful name. It suits you." He said.

"Oh really." She said, raising an eyebrow. "And how would that be?"

"Well because you're a gorgeous woman." He said.

"You're not to bad yourself." She said looking him up an down.

They sat and talked for a while.

"I have to head home. It's late and I start work in the morning." He said standing up to leave.

'Shit. I'm running out of time' she thought to herself.

"Oh ok umm-" she got cut off by him pressing his lips to hers.

It started slow but soon he was biting her lip and slipping his tongue in her mouth.

When they pulled away for air he said, "Maybe...we should finish this at my place."

"Ok but I will follow behind you because I need my car in the morning." She said.

"Ok let's go." He said taking her hand.

A few minutes later they arrived at his apartment. When they entered he quickly reconnected their lips and pushed her against the door. He started kissing down her neck as she grabbed the hem of his shirt. They broke away so they could take each other's shirts off.

"Bedroom." He said.

She responded by jumping in his arms. Kissing his neck all the way to the bedroom. He quickly threw her on the bed and unclasped her bra. He kissed all the way down from her breasts to her thighs.

"Robert." She moaned as his started pleasing her.

After she reached her climax they connected their bodies. Before they knew it the sun was rising.

"Were we really up all night?" She said climbing out of bed.

"Yeah we were. Why are you leaving so early?" He asked.

"Because I have to go to work." She said putting her jeans on.

"Well why can't you be a little bit late?" He asked.

"Because I'm kind of like the boss and if I'm late it sets a bad example." She said going and giving him a kiss.

"Well maybe we could set up dinner sometime. Like a date." He said sitting up.

"I would love that" she said giving him another kiss. "I'll see you later."

"Bye." He said.

"Bye" she said.

~At the station~

"Morning 19" Andy said walking into the beanery.

"Morning captain." They all said.

"Someone had a late night." Maya whispered to her, seeing her down a cup of coffee.

"Ooo yeah and I think someone has the swagger." Vic said joining in on the gossip.

"Fine. I got laid last night." She said finishing her second cup.

"Details!" They both said.

"Later. So for today Miller and Warren are on aid car, Montgomery Hughes and Bishop are on ladder, and Gibson you are on desk duty until further notice." She said.

"Wait who's on engine?" Travis asked.

"Chief Ripley is coming by later. We are getting a new lieutenant so they will be on engine with me. If we get a call for engine before they get here, Montgomery will be with me. Now everyone go do your chores." She said dismissing them.

A few hours later Andy was sitting in her office doing paper work when there was a knock at the door.

"Come in." She said.

"Hello Herrera." Chief Ripley said.

"Hi Chief." She said.

"I just came to introduce your new lieutenant." He said as the man stepped into the office. "This is Robert Sullivan, your new lieutenant."

She couldn't think straight. They sat and talked for almost 2 hours and somehow their jobs didn't come up. And now here he is. Her new lieutenant.

"Oh umm Hi. I'm captain Herrera." She said shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you captain." He said.

"Ok. I'm going to go so you guys can get back to work. Hope you like it here Sullivan. Good luck." He said before walking out.

When he walked out Andy went and closed the blinds.

"If I new you were going to be my captain I would have told you last night." He said watching her walk back behind her desk.

"I ummm." She said. "Ummm I don't know what to say."

"Andy please say something. I don't know why but I really like you and I want this relationship to work." He said.

"I know. I know but as of right now I can only think professionally so we will have to talk about personal stuff later." She said.

"Ok how about you come over for dinner." He said, moving closer to her.

"Yeah that's sounds nice." She said.

He took a risk and leaned in and kissed her.

"Robert," she said after a few seconds. "We're at work and our relationship is kind of against the rules."

"I know." He said.

"Ok so back to business. Here is your uniform. Today you will be on engine with me. I'll show you to your bunk so you can change and then I will introduce you to the team." She said.

"Could I just change in here. I mean we've already seen each other naked." He said with a smirk.

"Sure just use my bunk. I will show you your locker next." She said.

A few minutes later they were walking into the barn.

"Guys." She said. "I would like you to meet our new team member. Lieutenant Sullivan."

"Welcome." They all said.

"Would you like to join us. We were just about to go make lunch." Travis said.

"Sure." He said.

It was now the end of shift and Andy was getting ready to head over to Robert's.

"Hey." She said as he opened the door.

"Hey." He said closing the door after she walked in.

"It smells amazing in here." She said.

"Thanks. I'm making spaghetti." He said leading them to the kitchen.

"That's my favorite food." She said leaning against the counter.

"Really? Me too." He said, handing her a glass of wine. "It's almost ready. Maybe about 10-15 more minutes."

"Ok" she said. "This relationship is against the rules but I'm willing to give it a shot if you are. We just have to keep it between us."

"So we're dating." He said walking towards her.

"Yep. We're dating." She said.

He caught her off guard by quickly placing a passionate kiss on her lips, lifting her up onto the counter.

"Mmmm." she moaned into his mouth.

They pulled back for air and started laughing. He took her shirt off and quickly threw his off as they started kissing again.

"Robert the food is going to burn." she said pulling back and slipping his shirt on.

"Fine, but we have to finish this later." he said, giving her one last quick peck on the lips. "Also I need my shirt back so I can cook."

"No you don't and it looks better on me. Plus you look good without it."

"Whatever." He said, laughing as he turned around to cook.

"That spaghetti is amazing." Andy said placing her plate in the dishwasher.

"Thank you. It was the first recipe my mom taught me." he said starting the dishwasher.

"I had to teach myself how to cook because my dad was always on shift and my mom couldn't teach me because she died when I was 9." she said.

"I'm sorry. I know what it feels like to loose a parent because I lost my mom a few years ago to cancer." he said.

"Oh I'm sorry." she said, wrapping her arms around him, seeing him start to tear up.

"It's-it's fine. I'm sorry you have to see me like this. I don't usually cry often." He said.

"Robert," she said, meeting his eyes with hers. "It's totally fine to be sad."

"Do you want to stay tonight?" He asked.

"I would love too." She said as he took her hand and lead her to the bedroom.

They got ready for bed. Robert let Andy borrow one of his t-shirts to sleep in and he slept in his sweat pants. They cuddled into bed and fell asleep.
