Song Of Past and Future: Interview/Ask Blog III
In the Dark Room, Eddy and Barb were sitting at the table, for their interview where they would chat it up with this guy who was interested in their story and the events that had unfolded. The mystery figure was sitting across from them, stirring a cup of liquid as he picked it up.
"Eddy, Barb, It's nice to have you two back here, How have things been going since our last interview?" He asked as Barb looked around, asking if Popsqueak and her friend would be joining them as he shook his head, drinking from his cup.
"It's just you and Eddy tonight, this story really has been following you two more than the Pop Trolls, care to comment on your adventures," He asked as Eddy scratched the back of his head, saying that they had just arrived at Symphonyville and found the city destroyed.
"On top of that the Classical String was stolen too, Don't forget that" Barb added as Eddy nodded, commenting on how Lord Deyo stole the string during his attack on Symphonyville as the Figure looked at Eddy.
"Eddy why not tell us about this Lord Deyo character, a little expo dump for those following along," he asked, setting his cup down. Eddy took a breath as Barb looked at him, saying that she wanted to know about this guy.
"Lord Deyo is a fierce warlord from my Time, as it's known in this room, I'm from the future" Eddy led on as Barb nodded, explaining that she did not know this in the story, but since this was out of canon she was still finding trouble accepting that Eddy came from the Future as he looked at here.
"You read the same chapters I did, they show me and Twiggy coming back in time" Eddy replied as Barb looked at him, asking what the future was like, considering she would not find out until later she wanted to know as Eddy looked at her, asking the Rock Queen what she wanted to know.
"I Guess This Deyo guy, he's this big baddie right," Barb said, flexing her arms as Eddy just rolled his eyes, saying that while Barb was a badass she could be a bit of a dork sometimes as he looked at her.
"Lord Deyo is the Evil warlord from my time who rules over the land, most of the Trolls who stand against him end up dead or enslaved" Eddy explained as Barb nodded, confirming he was a Big Baddie.
"So Eddy, what was your life like before Deyo," The figure asked, taking another sip from his mug as Eddy looked at him, saying that Deyo had been around as long as he could remember, saying at first he just left the Trolls alone and kept to himself.
"Before the war, I owned a record shop, I was always fascinated with the music of the past, back when the music was real. it was a good gig, Trolls would come and buy the newest records from their favorite bands" Eddy explained flashing back to before the war.
"A slightly less scared version of Eddy walked up to a small building carved into the stone of Volcano Rock where he opened the door to a store called 'Rockin' Records' which had large shelves filled with vinyl records, dating back to the earliest days of rock. Eddy whistled, putting some music on as his store was opened. The walls were lined with album covers and few relics for Rock history, a few jackets and instruments, and belongings from famous Rock Trolls.
"Yo Eddy, you open yet," another Rock Troll said with bleached yellow skin and blond hair, wearing a sleeveless jacket and jeans as Eddy welcomed him in, saying it was good to see him. The Troll's name was Ronnie, and he was one of Eddy's frequent customers.
"So Ronnie, what are you looking for?" Eddy asked as the two Trolls talked about music, Ronnie mentioned he was throwing a rager and wanting some kicking tunes, specifically something with good bass as Eddy looked through his records.
"I Got just the album for you, Underdeath by Enginebrain, some of the best bass playing on Rock Troll history resides in this Vinyl," Eddy said handing the sleeve to Ronnie as he smiled, saying it was one the house, provided the return it when he was done.
"So you actually ran a record store?" Barb asked, a bit confused, taking Eddy for the warrior type, not seeing him with a job as Eddy sighed, saying those were different times.
"It wasn't just a record store, It was a museum, dedicated to the history of Rock Music, I spent a while collecting pieces of Rock history, Slice's Top Hat, Elroy's white Jumpsuit, even Barb's buckle is in a display case" Eddy informed as she looked at him.
"You actually have my belt buckle, that's somewhat creepy" Barb looked at Eddy as he asked how that was creepy, she was a former Queen of Rock, and her buckle was iconic, if anything it should be flattering.
"How did you even get my buckle?" Barb asked as the figure interpreted them, saying as much as he liked seeing them conversate, he had some questions to ask. Looking at Eddy to explain what happened with Deyo as Eddy looked down, saying that one day Deyo just attacked, no one provoked him, he just sought out to attack.
"Most of the Kings of Queens of the Trolls were either killed or joined Deyo out of fear or self-preservation" Eddy explained as The Figure nodded, saying he read about that, with the Future leader of the Rock Trolls, Greatmane.
"Yeah, King Greatmane sold out his own people to save his own skin, sure he claimed he did it to preserve the Rock Trolls from wiped out like Deyo did with other tribes but he acts like he was in the right for it" Eddy explained as Barb looked at Eddy, asking what this Greatmane character was like as Eddy looked at her.
"He is a terrible excuse for a king, who sold out his own people, and cheapened our music, I promise you if you ever met him, you'd want to rip his hair out" Eddy promised as Barb looked at him, asking if he was 'that' bad.
"Worse" Eddy replied pulling up a photo of Greatmane, telling her about the Rock King, most of it discomforted her but it was his appearance that made her sick, especially when she saw how Greatmane dressed, in bright neon spandex, and fur, embossed with gemstones and glitter.
"I think I'm gonna be sick," Barb said, the mere thought making her uneasy as the figure looked at her, saying she was not throwing up in his room as Barb looked up, saying she was fine as the Figure looked at her, asking what she thought about the whole Eddy being from the future thing.
"It's interesting, I hope I can see the future but I really don't like this Greatmane character in charge, it sounds like he's not even a real Rock Troll, and the fact that he's King" Barb explained in disgust as Eddy nodded, saying that was something they both agreed on.
"You won't hear me disagree on that, he is a horrible leader" Eddy replied as the figure looked at them asking if they could change the topic from Greatmane as Barb looked up, asking about the rest of the leaders.
"You said some of them allied with Deyo, care to explain that, and who they are?" Barb asked as Eddy sighed, saying that three of the leaders sided with Deyo, The first of which was Greatmane, the King of Rock.
"Next is King Ludwig of the Classical Trolls, they sided with Deyo because they could not stand a chance against him and saw what he did to other Tribes, he also told Barb they had a demonic appearance, showing pictures of a pale skinned Classical Troll with demon-like wings,
Next is Queen Josie James, Or J.J. For short, leader of the Funk Trolls, like Ludwig she agreed to follow Deyo provided he did not wipe out Funk City, they have sworn their loyalty to him" Eddy informed, showing a picture of a female Funk Troll with a black robe with a pink key-tar.
That does it for Deyo's forces, as for the rebellion, you already heard about Jesse, he was the King of the Country Trolls, one of the few Troll Tribe not wiped out, and our final ally back in the future is Queen Ro-Becca, the cybernetic leader of the Techno Trolls" Eddy asked as Barb counted on her fingers, asking about the Pop Trolls as Eddy sighed.
"King Basil 'was' the leader of the Pop Trolls until Deyo stormed Troll Village, the Pop Trolls were not ready for him, Deyo killed their king right in front of them, most of them disbanded and fled the Village. I actually met Twiggy on the road" Eddy explained as the figure looked up.
"Okay, this is seeming less like an interview or more of an expo dump, let's call it here, I hope to see you back here soon," The figure said, flicking off the light.
