Weiss was upset… well maybe that wasn't the right way to put that, on her wedding night she was upset but now she was just bored and a little miserable. Weiss was all alone in her new home, the home her boyfrei... Er, wait Fianc… No wait husband (yeah that's it) had spent the last year and a half building them.
It filled her with a giddy joy to call Jaune her husband now, but the fact that she had been alone at the house for the last month put a bit of a damper of her new wife feeling.
The fact that he left on their wedding day had a large part to play in her mood. Now by no means was she angry at him actually if anything she pitied him, she was also missing him a lot. Weiss began to think about the events of the last month while laying back on the comfortable sofa in their living room.
-Flashback Wedding day-
The wedding was wonderful and everything Weiss could have ever wanted her dress was perfect. Her Jaune was so handsome in his tux and all her friends attended the wedding. Her team was present, Ruby her maid of honor smiling and congratulating her on her marriage and bridesmaids Blake and Yang (now married to each other) present and being their usual amazing selves Blake calm and quiet trying to settle down her excited and untamable wife.
Ren and Nora came also with the latter being about 5 months pregnant and happily married to her loving husband Ren and him being the best man actually smiling. surprisingly Whitley came and wished her a happy life.
Of course he had to leave rather fast because now he ran the Schnee Dust Company but he did leave them a large sum of money saying it was an investment for his future nieces and nephews.
Her mother being there made Weiss very happy as she had finally gotten help with her alcoholism and became an all-round better mother finally reconnecting with her daughter.
Her sister and father, unfortunately, did not come. Her father due to his prison time and her sister as they still are not on speaking terms after the battle of atlas. Maria also didn't attend as she had died the year prior.
Oscar was currently unable to attend as he was on the other side of the world working. General Ironwood was not there either for obvious reasons of murder and crimes against Atlas.
But something that made her happy was that all her old teachers came like Glenda and Port and even Oobleck took time off from his research to attend (supposably professor peach was there but no one actually saw her so whatever).
Sun and Neptune attended coming from Valco and they made good company also the both of them being groomsmen and surprisingly Penny (who was also a bridesmaid) showed up with Neptune shocking several people as the two seemed to get along quite well.
Klein was the one who actually walked her down the aisle and presented her to her new husband as he had been more a father than her actual father had ever been.
In short, all the guests who came were wonderful and they had a great time. Weiss didn't have much family who actually would attend but that was alright as Jaune's family made up a large portion of the guests, all his sisters and their spouses and children, his aunts and uncles his cousins and second cousins.
Unlike Weiss's grandfather both sets of Jaune's grandparents were elated to come and she loved them dearly as they accepted her first into their family she was even wearing Jaune's great grandmother's engagement ring before she was given her own wedding ring.
She loved her new family and was incredibly excited to be an official part of Jaune's loving and huge family… something weiss had never had before. Speaking of Jaune, her wonderful, amazing, and very handsome new husband, she had never seen him so happy except maybe when she said she would marry him.
Jaune was much taller than Weiss so when he held her in his big strong arms she was practically swimming in them.
Weiss liked her husbands blond hair it was always a little messy and he let it grow out some not as long as it was before atlas but longer than when he cut it… it was just the right length for her to run her hands though.
He had grown a lot since beating Salem, He was taller, smarter, and braver, among other things, maybe it was no longer having the pressure of the SDC on her back or the threat of Salem looming over her shoulder… but now Weiss was able to really relax.
Having the ability to step back and feel relaxed gave birth to her love for Jaune and their eventual engagement, something she couldn't be happier about.
Weiss and Jaune sat at the wedding party table at their reception holding hands and basking in their new marriage as well as smiling at all their mingling guests. The time came for the best man and maid of honor speeches and they were very much how everyone expected them to be.
"Hello I'm Ruby, Weiss' old partner and maid of honor, and I want to start out just by saying I called it and yang you own me 40 Lien'' the crowd chuckled as she started her speech. " I remember when I first met Weiss and Jaune at school and honestly I never thought the would end up married at the time, see Weiss was still super stuck up at the time" she continued earning more chuckles and a facepalm by Weiss " And when I met Jaune he had like zero confidence and or social skills so once again I thought this wouldn't happen but as time progressed and Jaune tried to court Weiss I knew the moment he showed up with a guitar at our dorm room that these two were destined for each other." she continued flipping through her note cards getting more chuckles from the group. " All of us have been through so much together as we fought to beat Salem, Jaune even awoke his semblance to save Weiss. I knew these two were getting closer when we went to Altas and After we beat Salem when I heard our princess finally agreed to go on a date with Jaune I knew we had to make a bet on them. Me obviously winning as I knew they would fall for each other. When we still shared an apartment I knew they were getting super close when I overheard Weiss say on her scroll "goodnight I love you" which then she proceeded to make some well-placed kissy noises. I can recall hours of her talking to him on the phone and always ending with the "Goodnight I love you kissy kissy kissy." or the legendary no you hang up game. Ruby said, trying to hold in laughter as both Jaune and Weiss' faces erupted into a blush. " but anyway I have been watching their relationship grow for a long time and I was so excited when I heard they were engaged and even more excited when Weiss asked me to be the maid of honor and now all i can do is say how happy I am for you two and I hope you have many great years ahead of you." she finished and stepped down from the podium with everyone clapping and Weiss hugging her best friend.
Then after they had calmed down Ren went up and took the podium as he pulled out his own note cards.
"Hello I'm Ren and I am proud to say that my best friend Jaune is now no longer a bachelor. (a applause rose along with some whooping and whistling) I have known Jaune for a long time and still remember back to when he was a clumsy silly, socially awkward teen and now he is a clumsy silly socially awkward man" he says jokingly earning a chuckle from the room. "When Jaune had first started to try and impress Weiss I honestly didn't think it would lead all the way to this moment. But I can't say I am not happy it did." he said looking over at the new couple " To borrow a line from Ruby after we had beaten Salem and after I had married my wife I remember Jaune running into our apartment yelling, "She said yes, She said yes!!" at the time I had no idea what was happening but now I feel silly as I should have known no one could get him this excited except for Weiss. I also remember the day he went to propose, he was at Nora's and my apartment sweating and stumbling over his words as he fumbled around with the ring he was talking about backing out but then Nora threatened to break his knees if he chickened out so your welcome Weiss," he said with a small smile as Jaune blushed and looked away from his wife. " But anyhow I'm elated that a man I think of like my brother has finally found love and I wish only happiness and prosperity for him in the future." he finished and raised his glass in a toast to his friend.
After all the emotion of the best and maid of honor, speeches things settled down for a little while as they ate until the dances. To start things off Jaune leads his mother to the dance floor and Weiss is led by Klein and they do the mother of the groom dance and the father of the bride dances.
Weiss cried a little because her actual father wasn't here for her or perhaps he would have been the one who she was dancing with, but Klein being the sweet man he was just hugged her and whispered how proud he was of her making her cry a little harder.
After the dance was over she went to her new husband tears still in her eyes and he gave her a look of concern before wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight before slowly guiding her in a small circle as she, in turn, wrapped her arms around his neck and placed her head against his chest contented by his warm presence.
"Are you alright?" he whispered lovingly into her ear, then gently kissed her forehead making her love him even more.
"Yes," she started as she looked up at him "being in your arms always makes me feel better," she says smiles and holding him closer and nuzzling her head into him.
"I love you Weiss" he says as he tilts her head up and kisses her. At that point they realized they were still being watched by the guests after Sun started making cheering sounds and cat calls, of course Neptune hit him in the back of the head trying to control his friend. Jaune and Weiss part and blush but don't break eye contact as this is still an intimate moment between the two.
The two finally finish their dance and the guests clapped as Jaune leads his new bride to her bouquet to prepare for the bouquet toss. Weiss stands with her back to all the single women who attended with Jaune next to her smiling but for some reason also looking a bit on edge (his father and him had an entire plan to make sure his younger sisters didn't get the bouquet).
Not giving her husband's look a second thought she tosses the bouquet over her shoulder into the group well now sort of pile of girls and women.
The one who emerged victorious from the small scuffle was Penny who just smiled and looked rather excited not fully understanding this particular custom.
After the small chaos of the bouquet toss Ren came forward with a chair and Jaune gave Weiss a mischievous grin earning a giggle from Weiss as now it was time for him to retrieve her garter and toss it for the men.
Weiss was guided to the chair and Jaune seated her like a gentleman. Jaune then proceeded to get on his knees and wink at Weiss getting her to giggle again as she adored his playful nature.
Jaune slowly raised his bride's elegant white dress (that in his opinion made Weiss look like a true angel) in such a way that only he would be able to see under it. He stuck his head in and most of his torso.
Weiss felt Jaune's breath on her legs and his gentle hands on her leg as he quickly removed her garter and emerged from under Weiss' dress (blushing slightly as he saw her special panties she had worn just for him) and held the piece of clothing high above his head like some sort of trophy making Weiss laugh as all the single men gathered just cheered and whistled in excitement. Jaune put the elastic material around his thumb and pulled back with his other hand before launching the guard into the crowd of collected bachelors.
Sun launched himself from the ground in an effort to catch it only to be pulled down by fox who then got pushed aside by Cardin only to be stepped on by russell but that didn't even matter as they were all off target and Neptune caught it without moving from his starting place, the other guys just groaned and slightly glared at Neptune who was currently looking at Penny and thinking to himself for a moment before smiling and making a mental note to take her on another date.
With all the chaos of the tosses done, the dance floor was now open and Jaune and Weiss returned to their table to watch for a little while and drink some of Jaune's favorite orange soda which he managed to get Weiss hooked on as well.
"So is this how you pictured?" Jaune asked, taking a sip of his drink.
"Honestly, No." Weiss started getting a confused look from Jaune, before he could respond she placed her finger to his lips and continued "When I was little I imagined running the SDC right now being single and miserable while living in my father's shadow." she explained
"Wow… when I was little I was wondering if I could get super powers if I went out in a lightning storm with a metal rod and some cleaning chemicals duct taped to my chest."
Weiss giggles and kisses his cheek before saying "Right now with you, I'm more happy than I've ever been in my life. I really love you Jaune Arc" she says as she kisses his cheek again before wrapping her arms around his right arm and nuzzling into his shoulder.
Jaune smiles and kisses her forehead before saying "I really love you too Weiss Arc." the two just sit together contented before Jaune steps onto the dance floor showing everyone his sick moves and Weiss goes and talks with her new mother-in-law
"AH, I feel like this family just never stops growing!" Juniper Arc says with a broad smile as she wraps her arms around Weiss who also smiling wraps her arms around the Arc matriarch
"I'm really happy to be a part of your family too Mrs, Arc" Weiss says as Juniper takes her hands in her own.
"Oh, none of that Mrs,Arc stuff dear. You're an Arc now so it's mom to you!" she says in an authoritative voice
"Okay, mom." Weiss says a bright smile spreading over her face,
"OOh, I can't get over how beautiful you look!" Juniper says fussing over Weiss' appearance making the new Arc woman blush from the compliment.
"Thank you, you look really nice too, I love your dress." Weiss says returning the compliment
"Oh this! It's nothing really, I bought this a few years ago. I saw it and I said to myself Juniper , that's the dress you'll attend Jaune's wedding in. so I bought it and now here we are." she said with a chuckle. The two women sat and continued to chat before Jaune came over to Weiss slightly out of breath.
"Hey Weiss! You should come and dance with us!" he said excitedly, now it wasn't that Weiss didn't like dancing, it was more that she just wasn't very good at it.
"I'll pass" She said with a small smile looking as her husband looked a little indigent.
"Come on! Please?" he said with a begging expression on his face.
"Jaune," Weiss with an eye roll at her husband's antics "You know I'm not good at dancing."
"I don't care about that, I just want my new wife to come and have as much fun as I'm having." He argued, his eyes starting to go into puppy dog mode.
"Jaune… don't do that." Weiss chastised.
"But hon!!!" he whined making her sigh, she about to reject his offer when Mrs, Arc spoke up
"Now Jaune, you shouldn't pressure your new wife to do things she doesn't want to. That's no way to start off a marriage."
"Yeah I know mom. Fine" he said with a huff and a sad face, Weiss could handle his whining and pleas but the sad face got to her, after all she did love him a lot and wanted to see him happy, what's that harm she thought to herself.
"Just for a little while." Weiss said standing up and taking his hand and smiling as she saw his face light up with glee.
"I know you'll have fun!" he said excitedly as he pulled her to the dance floor. Weiss did end up having fun as she wasn't embarrassed by her lack of dancing skills due to the fact no one but Jaune could really even dance (well except Blake and Yang).
Weiss and Jaune danced for what seemed like the next hour sometimes being stopped by guests that had to leave or people trying to congratulate them, after a while Weiss was tired and Jaune agreed to go sit with her awhile just so they could continue being together.
The two sat back at the wedding party's table and ate some more cake ( both agreed that shoving cake in each other's face was one tradition they didn't want to do) the two just sat and enjoyed each other's presens as people came up and talked with them keeping things interesting.
At one point they looked to the dance floor and saw Penny teaching Neptune (who still can't dance) how to do the robot, they both thought that was cute and hoped the two might start to date no knowing the duo had already started dating a few months ago.
Sun came and sat next to them striking up a conversation.
"Hey guys!, How's it feel being married?" He says with a broad smile.
"I like it," Jaune quickly says as he takes Weiss' hand in his own making her blush
"I like it too," She says her face still glowing red as she laced her fingers with his.
"Cool cool, so you guys are moving where again?" he said as he tried to flag down a drink waiter to no avail.
"Well I've been building a house in the vale countryside for the past year or so, and we just moved Weiss' stuff there two days ago." Jaune explained before successfully waving down the waiter for Sun.
"Oh so you guys were living together then?" he asks
"No, I've been living with ruby, then tonight we leave for our honeymoon, And when we get back ,then we have the fun task of unpacking all my stuff." she says smiling imagining what her honeymoon would be like.
"Mk, Well where are you guys going on your Honeymoon?" he asked with an eyebrow wiggle.
Weiss rolls her eyes as Jaune tells Sun " Tonight we're heading out to Mistral tonight after the reception is over."
"Wow going to go and enjoy some of the artsy culture they've got over there?"
"Yes, that was the plan, I mean what else would we go to Mistral for?" Weiss said with a small look of condemnation on her face.
While Jaune continued to talk to Sun Weiss decided to watch people for a while. She saw that most of the guests were already gone and most of the ones who remained were getting ready to leave making rounds saying their goodbyes to others they knew and eventually making their ways to Jaune and Weiss to congratulate them and say goodnight.
Weiss looked at the clock on the wall and say it was getting close to 10:40 , their Bullhead would leave in little under an hour and they would be in Mistral's capital in almost 5 hours.
She couldn't wait. As Weiss was people watching she noticed several things. Blake and Yang were talking to Ren and Nora, Weiss guessed it was about children as Black and Yang were thinking of adopting soon and Weiss honestly hoped they would know they would make great and loving parents.
She looked over and saw that Penny and Neptune were sitting at one of the tables talking, she thought the two looked cute and thought they would be good together. She couldn't help but notice the two had spent the entire wedding together.
She finally noticed something a little strange Ruby was on her phone with a very serious expression on her face and after a while of talking on the phone she put it away and looked very upset, 'what could have happened' Weiss wondered to herself then she saw ruby coming over with a conflicted look on her face directly to Jaune and for some reason it gave Weiss a sinking feeling.
"Um Hey sun could you excuse us for a moment." Ruby said shakily with a nervous demeanor about her.
"Umm sure?" Sun said as he looked at Jaune who just shrugged not knowing what Ruby wanted either. Jaune got up and Ruby led him away from Sun and Weiss.
"You know what that was about?" Sun asked
"I don't know, but it's making me feel nervous," she replied. Weiss just sat staring at Ruby and Jaune and noticed Jaune looked upset, really upset.
The two continued to talk for awhile with Jaune getting progressively more upset the longer they talked and Ruby looked really guilty, It made Weiss' Heart sink into her stomach at one point Ruby pulled out her scroll and they seemed to be on the phone with someone but after Jaune yelled something she couldn't make out the call seamed to end. Ruby and Jaune talked for a few more minutes and finally Jaune nodded then the two headed to Weiss and Sun.
"Weiss, I have to tell you something." Ruby started a look of sorrow in her expression. Weiss was starting to panic inside but she was able to remain calm on the outside from years of social training.
"What would it be Ruby?" Weiss said despite her best efforts with a crack in her voice.
"Well um… Jaune and I-" she started but then Jaune covered her mouth looking irritated.
"Ruby let me tell her." he says sharply "Weiss, Ruby and I have been called away on a mission" he says looking down as he felt his heart drop. Weiss was full of shock to say the least, a mission? Today? On their wedding day? Why was this happening?
Jaune asked the other two to leave as he and Weiss needed to talk privately.
"Called away on a mission?" Weiss started a hollow look in her eyes.
"Yeah"
"Couldn't they send anyone else?"
"No they need Ruby's strength and my healing abilities,It's our jobs apparently a lot of hunters were injured tonight. A group of Salem's old faction are stirring some trouble up."
Jaune and Ruby were the only two members of the original eight members of teams RWBY and JNPR still part of the world governments elite hunter squad, the others switching to lesser roles or pursuing other hunting jobs. Weiss herself left the elite squad to act as a political guard as she was still familiar with high class culture and a skilled huntress, it was her job to find and eliminate those targeting political figures. Jaune being who he is couldn't bring himself to leave the Elite Squad even though he was offered a job as a teacher for Beacon.
"Please couldn't you ask for someone else to go?" Weiss pleaded as she grabbed Jaune's arms
" Ruby already asked everyone else is already deployed on other missions."
"That's not fair! It's our wedding night..." she yells before going quiet as she fights back tears
"I know, I told them that, then they gave me an order to go otherwise they will come and arrest me for treason." He responded as her
"But we just got married…" she said as tears started to fall down her face, seeing Weiss cry on her wedding day broke Jaune's heart.
'I know…" He says holding her tight and rubbing the back of her head.
"I could go with you! I could help," She said looking up with her face tearstained.
"No you can't, your not on the elite squad anymore, besides i can't put you in danger"
"Bu what if I lose you!"she yells, burying her face in his chest.
"I don't know."
"I can't lose you… I just got you…" she says whimpering as her crying intensifies.
"I know." Jaune says biting back his own feelings for her sake.
"Hold me…" she whispers clinging to him. For the next few moments Jaune just held her and rubbed her back knowing he was breaking her heart.
"Jaune we have to go." Ruby says eventually coming over, trying not to cry herself.
"Okay, give me a sec."
"Weiss… I'm sorry" Ruby says as the guilt she feels becomes too much and she starts to cry.
"Weiss I have to leave now." Jaune says softly, still holding his crying wife.
"I know, I know it's your job… I just wish you didn't have to leave me now." she says sniffling and trying to pull herself together a little. " just be safe and come back to me okay?" she says trying to offer a little smile but failing.
"I will, I promise I will make this up to you." He says pulling away from her then he took the sides of her head and pulled her to him kissing her placing her own hands on his and welcoming it… But all too soon it came to an end and Jaune had to leave.
"I love you Snow Angel," he said before kissing her forehead,
"I love you too, my Knight," she said before kissing his cheek.
Weiss held in her tears as Jaune left and once he was gone… she felt so lonely.
The wedding reception was over when Jaune left and really the only people still here were Jaune's parents, some of his sisters, Klein, and the entire wedding party. Weiss just stood there not making a sound, then Yang went up to her witnessing what just happened.
"Umm hey Weiss?" she said quietly as she approached the still silent Woman. Suddenly before Yang could react properly Weiss spun around and grabbed Yang exploding into tears as she did so.
"He's gone, he's gone!" she wailed into Yang's shoulder as Yang wrapped her arms around the weeping girl. Yang just stood there as Weiss wept onto her shoulder and everyone else just stayed quiet and felt helpless.
"Weiss can we take you home?" Mr Julius Arc said placing his hand on Weiss' shoulder. Weiss still crying but now not as hard simply nodded, wiping her face.
"Thank you," she says quietly to Yang, "I'm sorry, I think I ruined your dress."
"It's fine, I don't mind. Hey me and Blake have a mission tomorrow but after it well come and see you okay?" Yang said, hugging her friend. Weiss just nodded before Mr and Mrs Arc led her out of the reception hall. The car trip to Jaune and now Weiss' new house was quiet with the exception of Weiss' sniffles.
When they finally arrived Mrs, Arc asked if Weiss wanted them to stay with her but she thanked them and declined, though Mrs, Arc said she would be back the next day. Weiss thanked them and found the spare key entering her house, she went into the living room and sat down on the couch before her scroll went off, she looked at the number and saw it was Jaune so of course she quickly accepted the call.
"Hello? Weiss?" she heard her beloved dolt say
"Yes, Hello Jaune."
"Hey, I wanna say I'm sorry again…"
"Its okay, I know it's your job"
"Yeah but it's our wedding night."
"I love you, I know that. So even though you're not here right now I still cant help but feel happy I'm married to you."
"I feel the same, I love you too. Weiss they don't know how long we will be gone… and apparently they are blocking scroll signals there…"
"Oh,"
" I'm sorry, I don't mean to worry you."
The two just sat and listened to each other breath for a little while.
" they say I have to leave now."
"Okay, Goodnight… I love you." she says quietly
"Goodnight, I love you too." he says and then she hears the call end and begins the cry again… crying herself to sleep.
Weiss for the next few days lay still layed on the couch and cried a lot, she was visited by Mr and Mrs Arc, Blake and Yang, Ren and Nora, And her mother. All of whom tried to make her feel better but understandably with little success.
The following week Weiss was able to pull herself together and start acting more normal, feeling productive. She wrote all of the thank yous to the guests and mailed them that week Blake and Yang came over and helped her sort and store all of her stuff she brought when she moved in. and in the following week she began to take small local jobs just in case Jaune would come home soon, she promptly refused to take larger jobs and the government looking at what they did to her on her wedding night left her alone.
A few times a week she had some people for lunch or dinner just to keep herself occupied but when she was alone she really did miss him.
-Flashback end-
Here Weiss still was sitting on the sofa and wondering how her husband was fairing. After a few hours of worrying Weiss got up to make herself lunch, as she made her way to the kitchen Weiss still had her breath taken away by how beautiful the home Jaune had made for them was… The house itself was made mostly off wood.
When you entered it you were right between the kitchen and living room, that space in between the two rooms was where the dinner table was, it was a like one large room filled with three smaller rooms that had no walls, the living section took up the largest place the large open room.
It was shaped like a large L with the living room part being the long bottom part of the L. by the kitchen there was a hall that led to the ground floor bedrooms and a bathroom also there was a door leading to the basement that had only one bedroom a bathroom and a large open space that held exercise equipment and a workbench for Jaune and Weiss' weapons.
At the end of the living room there was a large staircase with a lot of storage space under it that led upstairs to the second level.
On the second story there was another large open room that had no wall to the stairs so you could look over the side rale and see the living room below, this part also had a couch and a tv in it, should they need the room (or in Weiss' case feel to lazy to go down stairs.)
Besides that open room there was also two more bedrooms another bathroom, a large walk-in closet, and finally the master bedroom. The kitchen was nice, it had lots of marble counter space and an island and a door in the corner that led to the garage.
There was really no need for a pantry as there was more than enough cabinet space for all the food. Weiss, not really feeling like doing anything extravagant, just made some grilled cheese with some chips on the side and got some of her favorite grape soda from the fridge.
She brought her food to the table and set it down then sitting down herself she just looked at the food before her. Weiss smiled and giggled to herself realizing this was the exact meal that Jaune had made her on their first date. She bit into her now favorite lunch and relished in how wonderful it tasted, reminiscing as she chewed.
-Flashback start-
Weiss was nervus, she had finally accepted a date with Jaune and didn't know what to expect. All that he said was "Dress nicely and I'll meet you at your apartment" but honestly Weiss was still excited as already at this point she wanted to fall in love with Jaune. Weiss dressed in a simple baby blue dress and dark blue heels, and her long hair down curling it, Ruby told her she was Qoute "looking sexy". Weiss being nervus started to pace across the kitchen floor and was soon noticed by Ruby.
"Weiss calm down I'm sure he is coming, Look at the clock he's not even late." Ruby said from the couch in their shared living room, she was playing some online game or something Weiss didn't understand.
"Ruby stopped eating on the couch, and I know he still has time but still, this is my first real date… so I nervus okay." she said getting progressively quieter.
"It's my couch too and I can't pause to keep eating. I'm about to beat the final boss!" Ruby started saying "and relax I'm sure you'll be fine Jaune is a great guy and he will take great care of you," Ruby said somehow managing to continue playing video games and eat a rather large sandwich.
"I know he is Ruby, but I really like him and well, I want this date to go well." Weiss said as she began to pace again.
"Aww thats so cute." Ruby said in a teasing tone
"Oh be quiet you!" Weiss responded with a pout. Despite what Ruby said earlier Weiss continued to pace the floor worrying about what was to come.
There was a minute till Jaune was due and Weiss was about two inches from a panic attack when the doorbell rang.
Weiss all but ran to the door and Ruby actually paused her game to watch the "show" Weiss composed herself by the door and took in a deep breath before opening the door.
There he was just standing there a little awkward in a black suit with a green tie and a bouquet of white roses in his hands.
"Oh! Um Hi…" he says looking nervus and fidgeting a little,
"Hello Jaune…" she says blushing and looking at her feet also fidgeting a little. The two stand in silence for a few awkward seconds before Jaune speaks up.
"Look look beautiful," he says his face pink as he rubs the back of his neck
"Thank you, you look good too," she says returning the compliment
"Oh yeah… these are for you," he says holding out the flowers with a blush.
"Thanks, they are so pretty." Weiss says, taking them "why don't you come in for a moment while I find a vase for them," she says, stepping aside to let him in.
"You guys have a nice place," Jaune says as he steps into the apartment.
"Thanks I try to keep it clean," Weiss says, filling a vase with some water.
"Hey Jaune." Ruby says walking into the kitchen to grab some soda,
"What's up Ruby," Jaune says with a smile.
"Oh not much, I just started playing the new DLC for Omega Killground 5: New slaughterhouse,"
"Cool, I just finished that this morning,"
"Really! How did you beat the Alpha Koregrine!?" She practically yelled
"It really wasn't that hard… I just used the Legendary weapon Archangel's scythe, didn't you do that?"
"What! How did you find a legendary weapon!?"
"How did you not? If you talk to old man Kreengul before you battle the Elf chief he gives you a riddle then when you solve it before the next boss battle he gives you the Archangel's scythe." Jaune explains with a hint of condescension in his voice
"Well how did you even beat the Alpha Koregrine? You are only like level 150 when you battle him."
"Didn't you do all the side quests? If you do them all you'll be like level 214…" Jaune said like it was obvious.
"I couldn't solve the Goblin puzzle in the 4th side quest, how did you do that?" Ruby pressed
"I would like to tell you but well I kinda have a date with Weiss right now…" Jaune says looking at Weiss feeling a little guilty for ignoring her.
"Sorry Weiss," Jaune says rubbing the back of his head, Weiss just giggles and says
"Don't worry about it, it was entertaining, shall we go?"
"Of course, yeah lets go." Jaune says a smile spreading across his face. The two started out the door with Ruby yelling after them,
"Hey you crazy kids don't stay out too late!" Weiss just rolls her eyes and shuts the door.
"So where are we going?" Weiss asks as the two walk down the stairs of her apartment building.
"Well I was planning on going to this great restaurant Le Palais D'acier." Jaune said excitedly as they exited the building finding the Cab Jaune arrived still waiting for them.
"Wow that place is super busy, I heard it was hard to get in." she says climbing into the cab.
"Yeah it is, but I got super lucky and someone else canceled at the moment I called." He says climbing in himself and telling the driver where to go.
"I also heard it was crazy expensive." Weiss commented.
"Yeah but I wanted to impress you tonight," Jaune says sheepishly.
"Jaune you didn't have to try and impress me, I would be happy just spending time with you." she says her face erupting into red, Jaune's face also reddend deeply. The cab driver realizing this was a private conversation awkwardly closed the divider and turned on the radio to help distract himself a little.
"I think you're worth trying to impress," Jaune said, still blushing, for the rest of the car ride the two made idle chat about nothing in particular until they reached Le Palais D'acier one of Vale's top restaurants. Jaune paid the driver and they entered the building.
Le Palais D'acier was an impressive building, and true to its name which translated literally into The Steel Palace the entire building was made of various metals but mostly steel and it was gorgeous.
Le Palais D'acier abandoned the idea of traditional high class and went for a very modern look almost everything made of metal or glass, the food remained the same high class meal you would expect but oftentimes with a modern twist on it.
Instead of a low light ballroom feeling the entire building was incredibly well lit and it made the inside shine. The restaurant was an immediate hit and quickly became one of Vale's top 5 restaurants as well as one of the top 20 in the world.
"Wow, I've never been here." Weiss said in awe as they entered,
"Yeah this place is really something." Jaune also says in awe. The two go up to the host and he checks the registration list before leading them to a table and telling them the waiter will be right with them. Weiss and Jaune sit and make conversation both enjoying each other's company.
"Hello my name is Cadin and I will be your server could I start you out with some water, Sparkling or still?" he asks with a super fake smile on his face.
"Still is fine," Weiss says kindly and Cadin nods, eyeing her up.
"Yeah I'll-" Jaune starts before he is interrupted
"Okay still it is," he says walking away before Jaune could even ask for his water, annoying him a bit. The two sit for a minute confused by the waiter's rudeness then he returns with a drink menu in his hand.
"Here is the drink menu, and my number." Cadin says giving only Weiss a drink menu and a little paper with his number on it.
"Um no thanks." Weiss says feeling uncomfortable by his advances
"Hey come on babe, I could do things to you the redneck here could only ever watch in porn." he says creeping out Weiss
"Please stop, leave me alone. I'm not interested." Weiss says more forcefully
"That's what they all say before they had a taste of me, trust me, go out with me and I'll have you moaning in seconds." He says getting closer to her, then Jaune takes a hold of his wrist and pulls him over to him
"Hey dipstick, she said she wasn't interested. Now please leave and send us a different waiter." he says with a steely glare.
"Okay okay" the man says taking his arm back and rubbing his wrist, "stupid highclass bitch." he says quieter as he starts to walk away, but he was close enough that both Weiss and more unfortunately Jaune heard him say it. Jaune quickly gets up and looms angrily over the shorter man
"What did you just say? Apologise NOW!" Jaune says getting angry.
"What? No, I don't need this from low class crap like you, I don't even know why someone like that is with you." he says pointing at Weiss
"Apologise." Jaune says once again taking an aggressive step forward, years of being a hunter has made Jaune not only tall but now he is very strong and can be intimidating when he is angry. Scaring the smaller man he steps back cowering saying
"Okay I'm sorry just please don't hurt me!" At this point the manager came over noticing the commotion.
"Hey, Hello can I help you with something?" she says with a nervous smile.
"This waiter was really gross and hit on my date and then when she rejected him he called her a bitch." Jaune says, still eyeing the cowering man.
The manager looked shocked for a moment before looking angry.
"I'm sorry sir we have been having problems with him before. I deeply apologize for him and ask that you stay and enjoy your meal and I will serve you personally." She says bowing to him. Jaune thinks about it for a moment before Weiss comes up behind him and tugs on his jacket sleeve looking away feeling embarrassed.
"I'm sorry I think we'll be leaving." Jaune tells the Manager
"I understand, once again please forgive us for your night." she says bowing again.
"Thank you, goodnight." Jaune says nodding to her before exiting with Weiss besides him.
Outside Weiss still remains quiet as Jaune calls for a cab.
"Hey, I'm sorry… I didn't plan the night to go like this. I'll take you home now if you want. I understand If you don't want to see me again." he apologizes.
Weiss looks up at him with her eyes wide with concern "No no, I know it wasn't your fault. I want to keep seeing you, and if it's alright with you…" she says blushing madly before taking his hand " I would like to try and continue tonight."her saying this makes Jaune blush and takes her smaller hand in his larger one. Jaune thinks furiously for a moment before coming up with an idea.
"If you want we could go back to my apartment and I could make you dinner." he says rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
Weiss smiles and says " I would like that."
When the cab arrives Jaune gives the driver directions to his apartment and she notices he only lives about two blocks from Ruby and her apartment.
The two finally arrive at the apartment building and Jaune leads Weiss inside. The apartment he lives in is pretty nice and all of the people who live there seem to know Jaune by name and really like him.
"So all these people know you?" Weiss askes Jaune as they take the elevator to his apartment on the fifth floor
"Yeah I help a lot of them out with little things they need done. Like Mrs, Notizie I help her carry her groceries up on tuesdays." he says shyly
"That real cool you help them like that." Weiss says smiling. When they get to the fifth floor Jaune leads her to his apartment and when he goes to open the door they suddenly realize they were still holding hands, with a blush they separate and he opens the door leading her inside.
Weiss looks around the apartment and is amazed by how clean it is. She looks around and not noticing anything that looks out of place, the only thing she notices is how empty it looks.
There is a kitchen with a counter that he must use to eat at as there are stools here and there is no dining table, he has a nice couch in his living room and a rather large Tv with a few gaming systems hooked up to it and a few games lying out on the stand.
"Um well, welcome to my home," he says a little nervously "please make yourself comfortable while I make us something to eat."
Weiss nods and sits at the counter on a stool to watch as he works in the kitchen. Jaune looks in the fridge before looking a little sheepish and turning around to talk to her. "Hey it would seem I forgot to shop this week, would you be okay with something like grilled cheese?" he asks her.
"What is grilled cheese?" Weiss asks not being familiar with the food, she may have eaten many things she never thought she would eat but she could not recall eating grilled cheese anywhere.
"Really you don't know what that is?" Jaune says looking surprised before smiling and saying "now I have to make them. So it's two pieces of bread with melted cheese in between them, I also like to put a little slice of ham in the middle too. '' he explains.
"Jaune I'll be fine with whatever you make," she says with a smile as it was cute how excited he looked to introduce her to this food. Jaune and her talk while she watches him make the food he was talking about, it smelled really good to Weiss.
He got two plates down and placed the sandwiches on them going to a cupboard with a few kinds of chips in it asking Weiss what kind she wanted and her telling him it didn't matter. He placed the food before her and went back to the fridge getting to bottles of a grape soda.
"I'm sorry I couldn't make you anything better… or take you someplace." he says looking crestfallen,
"Don't worry about it, isn't the point of a date spending time with someone you like? It's not really about what you eat…" she says shyly.
"Yeah I guess," Jaune says blushing, "well please eat." he says, taking his own food in his hands and taking a bite. Weiss takes the sandwich and notices how much better it smells up close. She takes a small bite just to try it, the small bite was enough to fill her entire mouth with one of the most wonderful tastes in the world.
"Oh my gosh! What is this!" Weiss says excitedly holding up the food like a child with a new toy,
Jaune chuckles at her reaction before saying, "so you like it?"
"Yes! I love it, why Have I never had this before?" she says a large smile on her face as she takes another mouth watering bite. Jaune just watches her and continues to laugh
"It's just something my mom used to make me when I was little. Apparently it's not a very common food in Atlas so that would probably be why." he explains "Hey try this," he says handing her the grape soda.
Weiss had seen Ruby drink this stuff back in their apartment but never had the interest in drinking it herself but Jaune just introduced her to the wonderful food of grilled cheese so this could be good too right? Weiss took the bottle from him with a thanks and put it to her lips.
The cool and sweet flavor of grape slid down her throat and it was positively wonderful, this was now probably Weiss' new favorite drink bar none.
"This is great too." she says a smile on her face,
"I'm glad you like it." Jaune says relieved.
"You cooked this really well," Weiss said taking another bite of the cheesy wonder,
"My sisters always insisted I make them when I was little, they said I made them better than our mom," Jaune said thinking back to his childhood.
"I don't know how your mom makes these but I like the way you make them." Weiss says with a chuckle
"Thanks, honestly I like to think I'm a pretty good cook." Jaune replies with a hint of pride,
"Oh really? What can you make?" Weiss asks
"Well I can bake almost anything, like cakes, pies, cookies, pastries. That sort of thing. When I cook I tend to be the best at making pastas and sandwiches. Before Ren and Nora married it was me and Ren who did most of the cooking for the apartment." Jaune explains
"I've never been a good cook, I really never learned how since I always had someone else who knew how to cook around me." Weiss says sheepishly admitting one of her shortcomings.
"Hey if you'd like I could teach you how to bake sometime," he offers
"I'd like that. Maybe on our next date?" she says smiling. At her statement a smile comes across Jaune's face as he rubs the back of his head with a light dusting of pink on his cheeks
"So you mean… we could have a second date?" he asks hope in his voice.
"If you want to, I would love to go out with you again." Weiss says pink also dusts her cheeks.
"Of course I would want to!" Jaune says quickly "I like spending time with you." he says quieter in a nevus way that Weiss thought was cute.
Having already confirmed their next date the two just spent the rest of the meal with Jaune telling Weiss stories to make her laugh and they entertained each other. After finishing the meal he took her to the living room and then sat for a while and talked before Jaune came up with an Idea.
"Hey do you wanna watch a movie?" he asks her, Weiss thinks about it a moment before asking
"What movie?" Jaune gets up from the couch and goes to the tv stand opening a cabinet under it revealing a large collection of movies and video games.
"I have all of these, and we could always stream something if you don't find something you like, we don't even have to watch a movie… I just thought of the date serotype you know for dinner and a movie… I kinda wanted to try it." he explains sheepishly.
Weiss liked how simple Jaune was and hearing him explain his want to watch a movie with her made her smile so she joined him on the floor and looked through his movies. Jaune's large collection was honestly impressive, not just because it was large but because it was so organized.
Jaune had his movies divided into genres with labels next to each different type of movie, there were horror, action, superhero, romance, comedy, thriller, sci-fi, fantasy, and even some children's animated films.
Weiss picked out a generic looking romance film and Jaune put it in before retreating to the kitchen finding some popcorn for the two to snack on while they watched.
The two watched the film for a while observing the typical plot of guy meets girl, they fall in love but she has to go away and then he spends the rest of the movie trying to find her, that cliche plot.
The two started out sitting a little ways apart with about a foot between them but as the night progressed they slowly got closer together.
About halfway though the movie Jaune felt pressure on his shoulder seeing that Weiss had rested her head on his shoulder and snuggled up to his larger form, this made Jaune blush hard as he hadn't expected her to be so close.
Towards the end of the film Jaune and Weiss were almost full cuddling as she had taken his hand a little while ago and they had their fingers laced together, the position enjoyable for the both of them. Weiss looked up to observe Jaune and he looked down at her, the two locked eyes and just stared into each other's eyes for a while before as if a magnetic field activated the two found their heads being drawn together.

They angled each other so that Weiss was slowly pushing Jaune down onto his back, not once breaking their connection while adjusting, at that point Weiss was laying on top of Jaune, her petite body flush to his.

When they finally separate they can't help but just lay and stare into each other's eyes, both of theirs glazed over with a loving look, but suddenly they realize what they were just doing and naturally get embarrassed. "I liked it too…" Jaune says looking away from her embarrassed
"Oh! Sorry " Weiss says as she gets off Jaune
"Its fine, um looks like we missed the end," he says pointing to the screen trying to change the mood a little,
"Yeah," she says with a giggle, "I think we had more fun without the movie though." She says giving him a sly smile making his face flare up again.
"Um, do you want me to take you home?" Jaune askes after they get up from the couch. Weiss looks at the clock and tells him she would like to go home as it was getting rather late. The two leave Jaune's apartment and she tells him since they were only a few blocks away they should just walk together, so they hold hand lacing their fingers together and enjoying their newfound relationship.
Arriving at Weiss' building they enter and decide to take the stairs to spend even more time together before finally saying good night. The two reach her door and neither want the night to end.
"I had a lot of fun tonight, I'm sorry about what happened at Le Palais D'acier." Jaune says
"No it's fine, I had fun just spending time with you." she says leaning closer to him
"I want to see you again, if you're still okay with that." Jaune says smiling making butterflies flutter in Weiss' stomach
"I want to see you again too." she says pink dusting her cheeks. The two stand silent in the hall for a moment before Jaune finds himself leaning down and Weiss standing on her tippy toes so their lips can connect again that night, Suddenly the apartment door opens and Rubys is standing in the door frame with a smile on her face.
"I thought you two would be a good match," she says smugly ignoring the embreised looks of both Jaune and Weiss.
"Ruby!" Weiss shouts angrily
"Hey now quiet down, people are asleep." she says with a cheshire grin.
Jaune taps Weiss on her shoulder getting her attention
"Um I should leave, Goodnight. I'll text you soon." he says, face still flushed from Ruby's interruption.
"Okay, Goonight, I had a great time thank you." she says before she gives him a quick kiss and retreats into her apartment pulling a "Awwing" Ruby behind her.
Insider the apartment Weiss scolds Ruby for her inturption of an intimate moment and Ruby just laughs it off sing as stupid song about Jaune and her sitting in a tree K-i-s-s-i-n-g. After Ruby stopped laughing she looked at Weiss and said "Soooo, I take it the date went well?" she asks
"Yeah, I had fun." Weiss said reflecting on the night and excitedly thinking of all her future dates with Jaune.

Weiss sat at the table, her food all gone, smiling to herself thinking about all the wonderful and odd dates she and Jaune had leading up to their engagement. With a sigh Weiss got up and cleaned all her lunch dishes before wondering what to do for the rest of the day, she had no jobs tonight and Ren and Nora were coming over later in the evening for dinner.
Weiss would have started preparing the food now but they had decided just to get some take out to keep things simple, and Weiss didn't see the need to clean as she always did her best to keep the house in top condition as she couldn't stand clutter. Deciding to go upstairs to look for something to do Weiss left the kitchen and went up heading to the master bedroom.
Jaune and Weiss' room was by far the nicest in the house and the largest of all the bedrooms as is standard with most houses, the walls like the rest of the house were all light polished wood with some simple pieces of wall art adorning them, they had a ceiling fan with a chandelier style light under it, the floor was stained wood paneling and was mildly cold to the bare foot not that Weiss minded as she liked the feeling, of to one side they had two door one leading to their closet and the other to their own full bathroom with a shower and everything and there was another door inside the bathroom that also connected to the closet as it held their towels.
The room itself had a large king sized bed with grey bedding and white pillows on either side of the bed there was a night stand with a lamp on it and on the side of the bed Weiss had claimed there were two pictures one of her and team RWBY and the other a picture she had printed of Jaune and her on their wedding night before he left, both of them happy.
On Jaune's nightstand there were also two pictures one of him and team JNPR when Pyrha was still alive… the other was a picture taken not all to long ago it was of him and Weiss with his entire family, all the cousins aunts uncles siblings nephews and Nieces and it made Weiss happy to see it knowing this was her family too now.

Next to these two things there were two large bookshelves to hold all the books that he and Weiss had acquired over the years.
She looked at them and couldn't help but giggle seeing his large collection of comic books and graphic novels all perfectly in order. She really loved how her husband was. Feeling tired she plopped down on the bed and sighed, still feeling bored.
